Hello! This is my first attempt at a fanfiction (author pauses while nervously eyeing angry looking people holding rocks.) I guess if you really hate it, you'll tell me. I'm tough, I can take it! So, comments, question, positive critisism, flames, death threats, send them to me and I promise to read them, ponder them, catergorize them in alphabetical order, and then promptly forget about them. Okay, this is a second season spin-off (no, wait! Don't leave yet! *Down on knees, begging* Give me this one shot!) I figure if Mamoru ever saw how much she was really hurt, and stop felling so sorry for himself, then Mr. thick-as-a-board would get a clue! Couldn't help it. On with the show! *Distant sound of shots being fired* (This is slightly revised, I left out key elements before. Sorry.) Title: Let us remember..hmm? Part 1 (Revised) Author: Enchantress Wyrm My e-mail: bwendel@svn.net Rating: PG Disclaimer: What?! I don't own Sailor Moon?! You get the point. A sob tore at her throat. Her vision blurred dangerously. She wiped her eyes on a sleeve and kept going until she spotted the park. She quickened her pace, not caring whether or not she would trip. Maybe the pain of a skinned knee would counter the pain in her heart. No, there was no injury greater than this one, even death. Usagi ripped through a hedge, snagging her clothing and catching brambles in silken hair. She fell to her knees beneath the secluded tree. Hidden away from the rest of the park, she could lean up against the sturdy trunk and sob all she liked without being noticed by anyone, trying to hide her heart, cover it in layers to buffer it against any more pain. 'How could he?' Usagi wondered, not for the first time. He hadn't said much to her since that battle against Rubeus and the four sisters, but just to remember what he a had done, the cool words and composure, ice emitting from him where there had only been warmth, was enough to still bring her near tears. Usagi leaned her head against her knees, fealing the fabric of her skirt against her skin. She could still picture it: that battle was horrid, but not as bad as what had happened afterwards... *FLASHBACK* Craters still smoked from the energy burst that had shattered the ground. The Senshi gathered around Sailor Moon, Chibiusa sobbing into the bow of her sailor fuku. Tuxedo Kamen stood by, nothing unusual, except he looked horrified at what was happening before him. It was as though Chibiusa finding comfort in Sailor Moon disturbed him. Maybe it was because he no longer had any one to care for. Usagi's absence had left a hole in him, a hole that grew larger everytime he saw her, a hole that threaten to consume his entire being every time he raised a verbal hand to her already bruised being. He retaliated to the pain the only way he knew how. Anger. "Sailor Moon." He said. She looked up at him, slightly confused. This had been a hard battle, but she had done her best to try and protect this girl quietly sobbing in an all too familiar way, the way someone does when they are seperated from the one they love. Fighting with all her might, yet the way he had said her name... it sounded as though she had failed horribly. "Yes?" She said tentavly. He felt something tighten inside of him, but he had to go on. "How did this happen?" He made his voice devoid of all emotion but anger, anger he could never really feel towards her. "How did what happen?" It was obvious now. He was mad. But why? Oh, please... Hurt was plain in her speech. he gritted his teeth to stop himself from embracing her, damn the dreams. "How did what happen?! How did Chibiusa get here? Where were you when she was cornered in an abandoned construction site? She could have been hurt!" His outrage was real. She could have been hurt. YOU could have been hurt. Oh, god, there were small burns and tears on her fuku, she *is* hurt. 'And now I've added insult to injury, stupid, cold hearted bastard.' She just gaped a second, at loss for words. "I..I didn't know... I couldn't find her in time.." Time now for the killing strike. 'Please, someday may you forgive me, Usako.' he prayed silently. "And why couldn't you find her? What did you say to make her run off? You're too irresponsible with her!" She paled, then flushed. "I may have let her get away, but I defended her in the fight!" She had done all she could, why couldn't he see that? Something inside of him silently cheered her. 'Good for you! Stick up to idiots like me who throw away angels like you.' Unfortunetly, this gave him the last bit he needed before he could leave. "You may have protected her in the fight, but you left you friends to take care of the twisted sisters, and that is a mistake you may all have to pay for someday." he turned around to walk into the shadows so similar to those that clouded his soul. "Stop right there, or I'll toast that odious cape of yours." A cold female voice said. He looked back to see Sailor Mars readying herself for her Fire Soul attack. "I'm warning you, Cape Boy." she said. He looked over at her Sailor comrades. He was shocked to see all of them tensing up as if for battle. Against him. He hadn't planned on opposition for the Sailors, they had always backed off before. They reliezed it was between Usagi and him. It looked like this time he had crossed the line. "No! Wait! Don't, you guys. Just let him go. Please." Sailor Moon's voice came out pleadingly form behing her fence of human protecters. They looked at her doubtfully. "Please." She said once more, and it was echoed in her eyes. He slipped away before the tears he shed made it past his mask. They couldn't understand. Wasn't she mad at him?! He's been so unreasonable, even Mercury had been willing to put him on ice, and all were ready to throttle him. But they heard out their princess, who, while holding a slumbering Chibiusa, had made them promise not to use their Sailor powers on him. They had swore it, and Usagi had taken Chibiusa home to collapse on her bed, to tired to sob, just weep. (This is where Sailor Moon's flashback ends, so she doesn't know about the rest.) The others however, swore a different oath among themselves. They would not use their Sailor powers against him. Instead, a perfectly *normal* Rei,Minako, Makoto, and Ami on the other hand, were going to be paying a perfectly *normal* Mamoru a little visit.... Okay! That's it for now, I hope you like it. Tell me if I should write more, but remember: this is not my e-mail account, so keep it nice and clean, okay peoples? Enchantress Wyrm ^_~
