Thanks to those who e-mailed me, I won't list there names because there were sooooooo many. (Nose grows about ten feet.) Seriously, thank you all who did. Usually I write without anybody really, except my editor because I can't spell, but I fired because she changed psychiatric to phyciatric *Sweatdrop*. Hope you guys like the story so far, I'm slowly building up with these kind of stories until I have prepared the world for the madness of my other stories! Bwahahaha! ~Please e-mail me, I'm a pathetic person on summer vacation, caught up in e-mail warfare with my father and nothing better to do!~ Title: Let us remember...hmm? Part 3 Author: Enchantress Wyrm (bwendel@svn.net) Rating:PG to a PG-13 Disclaimer: Me. No. Own. Sailor. Moon. Although. Me. Hecka. Obsessed. Me. Also. Can't. Spell. Anything. Right. ***Story!*** Incredibly clean. That was the first impression Mamoru's apartment gave the senshi, it was so very clean. Yet, it held a secret beneath the surface. You could tell the way that everything seemed to have a place, but nothing fit in it's place quite right, as if it didn't want to be there. The same went for Mamoru. He looked as though he *really* did not want to be there. That could have been due to the emptiness the apartment projected, or the fact that he might now be alone forever do to the choices he had made, but mostly it was probably because of the four warrior women who looked ready to kill him. He was right on all acounts. "Would you guys like something to drink-" Mamoru began. "Sit." Makoto said, the tone of her voice leaving no room for argument. 'You wouldn't think this was my apartment by the way they treat me.' Mamoru thought, reluctantly sitting down in a chair as the senshi took seat in a row on his couch. It looked as though he were facing an, odd, jury for a verdict. It would have been funny, if it didn't seem as though they'd all already condemmed him as guilty. He sighed. No use beating around the bush. Except they beat him to it. "Listen, Mamoru," Minako began surprisingly calm. 'I guess the others don't trust themselves to speak, even Ami.' *That* had shocked him very much. She usually wasn't one to express how she felt so openly. Then again, neither did he. He turned his attention back to Minako. "Mamoru, it has been apparent for some time now, that, well. . ." Her words trailed off as she looked to the others for help. "You're not fooling anybody." Rei said plainly. He blinked in false confusion. "What do you mean?" He ventured warily. "This whole charade with Usagi-chan. You're not fooling anybody." Minako answered as the others seemed to have slipped back into just staring at him with hatred filled eyes. 'Maybe not something as deep as hatred,' Mamoru pondered. 'More like, disgust, and like I am the stupidest thing to grace the Earth, mistrust, and . . . pity?' He shook it off. No one needs to pity him. 'Like I said, I deserve it.' He put back on his mask he showed the world. "What charade? What exactly are you guys talking about?" 'There is NO WAY they could have found out about the dreams. . .is there? Then again, it *is* thought that Rei has ESP, could she read other people minds? More importantly, would she?' If she was really as mad, or disgusted, or whatever it was with him to practically beat down his door, she might go as far as beat down the walls to his mind to figure out exactly why he had left their leader like he had. 'And then repeatedly throw salt on the wound.' He thought grimly to himself. "You avoid Usagi like the plague, give her crushing remarks every time you do see her, say you don't love her, and then *obviously* pine over her when you think she can't see." Rei stated, doing nothing to help his fear that she really *was* reading his thoughts. He faked anger. "Listen, this is none of your business-" He began. "Oh, yes it is." Said Makoto, speaking for the first time since they came calling. "You're hurting possibly the most important person in the entire world to us. I think that would make it our business." Her voice was devoid of most emotions except for when she spoke with care about her leader. He didn't know what to say in response. "Why?" Ami said so quietly that almost no one heard her. "Why would you do this to her? I don't have to be the senshi of love to see: you still care for her." He leaned back to shadow his face slightly so they couldn't read his expression. 'Why? So that I can do what I have been driven to do for a thousand years: protect and consequently hurt, the one person I have ever loved.' That wasn't what he said aloud, though. "How would you know how I feel? How could any of you even fathom that you would know how I feel?" He was rightously angry and let his voice show it. "I don't know why any of you thought coming here would do any good. I no longer have any feelings for Usagi, and I wish you would let what happen in the past stay there, instead of dredging up something that doesn't exsist any more!" Every word ripped from his throat. He was talking loudly, and almost missed the small sob that came from his still open doorway. Unbeknownst to all of them, Usagi had stood in the doorway of the door they had left conveniently open in their hurry to kill Mamoru. She had heard almost all of the conversation. Everyone jerked their eyes to the door in time to see a retreating back, and two long streamers of golden hair. "Oh, no! She must have found out from Grandpa where I was!" Rei moaned. Mamoru barely heard her. 'No, no, no! I can't take this, hurting her any more!' "You inconsiderate-!" Makoto began, rising for her seat as if to attack him. "No! Wait, Mako-chan!" Minako and Rei called. "He couldn't have know she was there when he said that! Please, calm down." Her expression cooled slightly, then hardened like lava. "Couldn't have know she was there when he started spewing lies!" She practically spat. "Come on, let's get out of here, see if we can go find Usagi-chan." The others rose. "What do you mean, spewing lies?" Mamoru said carefully. They all gave him the Look, and then walked out his door, all except Ami who hung back a little. "Mamoru." She said as quietly as before. "You can lie to us, and you can lie to Usagi, but you can't lie to yourself. In the end, she already knows what you feel, despite what you say, and despite that, she will still always love you." Ami paused a second. "When will you learn to recognize and accept what you feel?" With that, she walked out of his apartment and quietly closed the door. He leaned his head back on the chair. 'Recognize what I feel, accept how I feel about her, what to do-?' His head snapped up. 'Love: I love her, and maybe that all that needs to matter right now, phantom menace (AN: couldn't help it!) or no.' He jumped up from his chair and raced out of his apartment in pursuit of a love he prayed was still there . . . That's it for now! Next weeks should tie together the first chapter with the rest. I don't know how much more there will be, maybe two or three more chapters. I hope to try and incorporate a song in there for good measure (Get it? Okay, so I'm really good at the really bad pun thing! What can I say? It's a gift!) Enchantress Wyrm -<-@
