This story starts at the dawn of Prince Demando. When he's teen, as with the other Black Mooners, so they are on Nemesis. I'm writing this because I see so many Usagi-Mamoru love stories that it's only obvious that the talented authors have forgotten a very essential part to Sailor Moon: The Villains! I love Sailor Moon R, especially the 2nd half, so those are the villains I'm using. And everyone has to admit that the (using DiC name here) episode "Brotherly Love" was one of the best! Ne? So here is my story! If you want to contact me see the bottom of the story. This is my first fan fic but that's not including that I'm an avid RPG-er! If you want to see my RPG visit http://members.spree.com/sip1/sailorpbem The Ratings of this story vary greatly from chapter to chapter so I'll be putting an individual rating on each chapter. If you are solely against an R rating beware that some of the chapters may have that rating. Not that I'm some horny, cussing fruit-cake who likes hentai, but the graphic nature that is present in the story gives it a touch of reality and really, it's sad & dramatic, not distasteful. So if you want an overall rating, I judge PG-15 is appropriate for A Peasant's Piano. Oh and now for the legal mumbo-jumbo: I do not own Sailor Moon, nor do I claim to own her or the characters of Sailor Moon. A Peasant's Piano By Enigma (scorpio_sweetie@yahoo.com) Rating- PG Chapter 1: Receiving Respect A young girl with hair of green sat at a piano. She sat as straight as she could before she put her hands delicately onto the black and white keys. With a meditative breath she then began to move her fingers across the piano making the music fly into the highest walls of the palace. A large crowd sat in the palace's theater. Many sat with a smug look as they watched the girl play. Amazing such talent could ever be found in a commoner... In the highest balcony sat the most important figures. The King of Nemesis sat along side the Queen and the two Princes sat by her. Other members of the royalty sat and watched the young girl play. She'd move back and forth, over and away from the keys in her seat to count the notes. Her eyes were shut and she was oblivious to the crowd watching her do what she loved. Oblivious to their judgements, oblivious to her status, and oblivious to her family name. The young Prince Demando read the program. He nudged his brother, showing him a feature in the program: "The Dance of Love & Revenge". The other prince was Prince Saffiru who smiled at his brother when he read it, and then turned his attention back to the figure at the piano. She looked so small from where he sat, and yet he was so drawn to the speck that played the most wonderful music. She finished up the last notes, and slowly opened her eyes. A few seconds went by before the silence was defeated by a standing ovation. Three girls stood up proudly in the farthest seats of the palace. Instead of the polite clap they screamed and hollered, "Petz-chan! You're the best! That is our oneechan!" Petz's eyes watered as she saw the respect that had never been given to an Ayakashi since her father's betrayal to Nemesis. She looked around the crowd and smiled to her sisters. She then looked up to the balcony. Not one performance had received a slight clap from the Royal Family that night. What she saw was unexpected... Saffiru stood and clapped loudly among the other sitting royals. Rubeus followed Saffiru obediently, and clapped without a smile. Esmeraude stared at Demando with a confused look on her face as Demando had his hand covering his face, as did the King. The Queen, Opal, smiled at her son giving respect to talent despite the class of whom it came from. The King tugged on his youngest son's sleeve and between clenched teeth stated for him to sit down. Rubeus did so quickly, but Saffiru stood until the performer left the stage. "She was very good, oniisan, ne?" Saffiru asked. "I've never seen you give the slightest recognition to any other girl. Not one of class and name, but yet you stand for a peasant's performance? That's not the way of a Prince, Saffiru-chan." Demando said accusingly. Saffiru was struck by his brother's harsh words as he became quiet and retreated to his all too familiar solitude and silence. Demando saw the effect he had on the younger prince and smiled to him, saying temptingly, "Next is the dance! It's supposed to be very 'enchanting'" "Now Demando-chan, speaking of a seductive dance with such excitement is not the way of a Prince either." said Queen Opal with an heir of authority. Demado apologized quietly as he sat anxiously awaiting the dancers to appear on the stage. Saffiru didn't speak, and Rubeus looked at him with pity, "Don't worry Saffiru-san. She was a good performer." Saffiru smiled to Rubeus as Esmeraude suddenly cackled, "Rubeus you're such a liar! You'd do anything to stay on the good side of our young, poor, disillusioned Prince Saffiru." She fanned herself as she stared at Demando longingly, "Isn't that right Price Demando?" "Nani?" Demando said preoccupied with reading the program. "Hey look there's kabuki later tonight!" Then he realized the others in a state of tension as he repeated with more concern, "Nani?" "Esmeraude is just insulting the Prince that's all." Rubeus said with a touch of sarcasm in his voice. "Oh really? Esmeraude-" "No, he's a liar Prince!" she pleaded with Demando as the King gave all four a threatening look, "Silence!" The king was able to roar his commands in a whisper, which still frightened the four young royal teens. After the King turned around the lights went out as five female dancers began to dance around a single man. "This is degrading and nauseating!" said Saffiru quietly with a hint of disgust. He stood up from his silence and walked out of the balcony towards the foyer. Demando was too preoccupied with the dance to see his brother exit. Petz stared at the mirror, at a reflection of a tired, poor girl who had just achieved what everyone said she would never get: Respect. Her sister burst into the dressing room, holding flowers, candy and other presents for their oneechan. "You were so awesome out there, Petz-chan!" Cooan said as she hugged her. "Not bad." said Caraveras against her pride, but as more of an obligation. "Did you see the balcony Petz-chan? The Prince was standing and clapping for you!" Beruche exclaimed as she smelled some of the roses. "I wonder why..." Caraveras said with a smile. "Why? Why! She just played a beautiful piece flawlessly! That's why!" Cooan erupted as Calaveras shrugged and said, "Good job imouto-chan." "Arigatou minna...arigatou." Petz was hot and nervous in the crowded dressing room, "Let's go outside. To the foyer, ne? Get some fresh air." Her sisters followed her, each wearing their best clothes and walking with dignity for the first time in their lives. ___________________________________________________________________ That's the end of chapter 1. I know it's tad too happy-joy-lucky for all you gloomy people, and a little slow but I will be speeding it up! See, in a few chapters this story gets very interesting! I'm thinking I'll post it two chapters at a time, so enjoy!
