When he opened up the newspaper this morning, he couldn't help but be intimidated by the bold letters on the front page with the words 'Juuban Essay Contest'. And what had caused him to be more drawn into the article must have been the words that were splattered under the heading, 'Grand prizewinner: Tsukino Usagi'. There was nothing wrong with swelling up with pride when the person you love had come up with such an achievement. No, there was nothing wrong with feeling pride for the person; there was nothing wrong with feeling that way. 'Love At First Sight.' It sounded sappy...romantic... His stomach welled up with a knot. He crumpled the paper within his hands. He didn't want to read something that Usagi wrote for Motoki. He felt ill. ~~~ Can I Have This Kiss Forever Whitney Houston and Enrique Inglesias Over and over I look in your eyes You are all I desire You have captured me I want to hold you I want to be close to you I never want to let go I wish that this night will never end I need to know Could I hold you for a lifetime Could I look into your eyes Could I have this night To share this night together Could I hold you close besides me Could I hold you for all time Could I Could I have this kiss forever Could I Could I have this kiss forever Forever Over and over I dream of this night Now you are here by my side You are next to me (You are next to me) I want to hold you To touch you and taste you And make you want no one but me I wish that this kiss will never end Ohh baby please Could I hold you for a lifetime Could I look into your eyes Could I have this night To share this night together Could I hold you close besides me Could I hold you for all time Could I Could I have this kiss forever Could I Could I have this kiss forever Forever (And ever) I don't want any nights to go by Without you by my side I just want all my days Spent being next to you Living for just loving you And baby, ohh by the way Could I hold you for a lifetime Could I look into your eyes Could I have this night To share this night together Could I hold you close besides me Could I hold you for all time Could I Could I have this kiss forever Could I Could I have this kiss forever Forever ~~~ Just My Love Chapter 5 By Chi Chi and Eternal Angel ChibiUsa9@aol.com , Usako9@hotmail.com http://www.geocities.com/cherii_blossoms ~~~ Maybe it was because of Minako-chan's frantic voice in the answering machine that shook him from his safe haven and brought him back to reality to face the cold, harsh truth. He wouldn't mind making out with her to get his mind off of Usagi...nope, not a bad idea. A knot pulsed within him. No, he couldn't do that. He couldn't use Minako to get over Usagi. The indignity of the whole game would haunt him forever. He sighed as he got dress, still moody from the events that happened in the past days. "I just wish..." he couldn't help but say, as he strolled out of the apartment and pressed a button to the lobby. Doing so, he found himself meeting a frantic girl, still in her Juuban uniform, hovering over him. "Mamoru-kun, did you read the essay??" she had asked, her eyes in complete horror and edge. "Essay? The one Usagi wrote...iie..." he said, as he shook his head, waiting for her to tell him that it was a good thing he didn't read Usagi's loving words about Motoki. Instead she smacked him with the newspaper that she held, loosely within her grip. "Shammit, all a mistake. All a stupid mistake!" she had cried, as she fell into a heap of tears. "I betrayed her...I betrayed my best friend..." "Nani?" Mamoru asked confusedly, as he slowly tugged the newspaper away from Minako's death grip. Slowly, he turned and read the essay, taking in the first few words. "All my life, the thought of love at first sight always seemed wrong..." and the essay continued, as she talked about her beliefs in love at first sight and how she had managed to see that those beliefs were a falsehood. And what caused him to feel a tremor of joy and a pang of guilt in his heart was when she began to mention him, and how she had fallen for him...hard - and how his brush off and insults had hurt her, but it had also caused her to fall in love with him some more... "I just wish that one day, when I look into his eyes, I would be able to see something other than the annoyance or mocking look he gives me. But until that day comes, I am content with what I have with him right now." Damnation. He had ruined everything. He had ruined his chance, breaking the chords of love that she had for him. "Kami...Watashi...Shammit," he had cursed, as the girl before him lifted her head, a sad smile upon her face. "It's so strange how everything was the way we wanted it in the beginning, but we were just to blind to see so." "Do you know where she might be now?" he asked in a hopeful tone, his eyes shining with mixed emotions, "I once heard that it's never to late to say you're sorry." "Hopefully...hopefully..." ~~~ Everything was a blur. He had not remembered how he had gotten to the Game Center...did he take his convertible or his motorcycle? Heck, he wasn't even sure if he had ran there...but all he knew was that he was standing in front of the game center as the sliding doors opened to reveal HER. She stared at him, mouth agape as she stared from him to the newspaper that was in his hands. She then turned toward the raven-haired beauty next to her. "Rei-chan...Onegai...find a way so I can escape..." her eyes pleaded towards Rei's violet ones, as she nodded. Her gaze then turned toward the dark haired man who wanted desperately to reach the blonde who was all but twenty feet from him. Rei stepped in between them, suddenly grabbing Mamoru's arm as he stared at her in shock. "Chiba-san," her voice was curt and demanded full attention. He turned to her, his eyes briefly taken off of Usagi, giving her a few precious moments to escape. Quickly, she bolted towards, Motoki demanding to know where there was another exit. Indicating to the backroom, she swiftly entered, unbeknownst to Mamoru who was too preoccupied with Rei to notice that his purpose had just fled the room. At that moment, Rei smiled sweetly at him, and reached up, as if to kiss him, but instead her hand brushed off rudely against his cheek. *Chi Chi: I think this was Usa-chan's nice way of saying that Rei-chan slapped Mamo-chan...hehe* *Usa: hey! I like my wording!* Rei smirked, as Mamoru tried to ignore the pain that surged through his cheek from the hard impact made when Rei brazed her delicate hand against his face. "That is for being the most god-damn bastard that I ever met!! How could you?!" she demanded as the fire raged within her eyes. Although he knew he was being foolish, he took his chances and ignored the fiery priestess. Forgetting the aching pain that had infected his cheek and turned around and looked about, only to see that the blonde was nowhere in sight and that Motoki was gazing dangerously at him. "Where's Usagi?" Motoki had just stared him down. ~~~ Usagi felt pitiful, as she sat upon the bench watching the sun kiss the evening sky goodnight as the moon embraced it with it's hauntingly beautiful light. "Like the sun and the moon, we are, playing our wicked game of tag...endless game where I am forever to be 'it' as the victim of your unmasked hatred even though I love you," she had said, as a soft voice replied back to her, "'Tis a fool that would dare to look with you in eyes that differs from love, hime." She turned, her eyes gazing up at the masked man. "I knew you'd come...you always do," she said, as he sat next to her. His hand reached out to stroke her cheek as she laid her head down on his lap. "I feel at ease when I'm with you, all my worries fly away, and then, I feel as if I truly am a princess, and that you are my knight." "And who is your prince, hime?" he questioned, as she stared off to the sky, watching as the night's darkness brought a marvel appearance of the mystical stars up to paint the shy. "My prince is a toad..." trying to explain the horribleness of the vile creature that Mamoru was, but she couldn't, for he was but mere perfection. "Waiting for your kiss?" the masked man asked, as she sighed, "No, that would be I. Whenever I am with you, I act differently, I speak differently, and I am different. Yet when I am with my prince, I cannot help but wonder..." "Ahh, my love, you should know that destiny is very tricky. What you think you see you didn't, and what you think you know, you don't. Instead of trying to convict destiny and band against it's force, try to let it lead you...it will take you to the right path," he said, as she started to sit up, positioning herself in an upward position. "I cannot help but feel..." she said softly, as her arms slowly wrapped around her knight's neck, as she brought her lips towards him for a long lingering kiss that had deepened to an emotional rage and heated passion. She shuddered at the feeling as her heart pulsed against his. He responded immediately to the softness of her lips to his. Soon they took a deep breath, as they began to kiss some more, pinning her against the tree, her legs barely reaching the ground as his arms caressed her body with the most arousing passion that was ever brought to their hearts. With closed eyes, she aimlessly caressed his hair, his smooth, masculine face, which caused the kamen to fall from his face. Soon the human needs finally came into toll as they parted, both of their bodies demanding air. Usagi turned up to gaze into the eyes of the man who always came to help her...to protect her from the harsh and bitterness of the real world. "MAMORU?" He stared at her in confusion. His eyes faulting from reality as he stared at her, in a midst of shock as reality finally hit him. "Nada?" Horror plated her eyes as she took deep breaths, "You're...and...how come...??" she asked in wonderment, as she felt the memories of the passionate kiss take her thoughts and his kind words that helped her heal... She felt like a fool. "Why?" Her breathing was off, as she brushed herself away from him, the blue eyes lingering onto the opposing blue ? "Watashi..." he softly said, his brazen eyes staring at her with shining beauty, "Hime-sama, I didn't know ? I didn't know..." he said softly, "I didn't know I was Tuxedo Kamen ? I always thought it was a dream ? un-fated reality ? I didn't know until you kissed me. I didn't know that this life was true until you kissed me. I always thought it was a dream, that I had dreams about saving you and holding you in my embrace." "Liar." she spat darkly, as she backed away from him. "All you are is a liar. You knew my emotions yet you fawn over Minako-chan...my best friend! I spilled my heart and soul out to you all those times you came to me as Tuxedo Kamen! And I bet that you went straight to Minako to share with her everything I told you so the two of you could laugh behind my back!" "Iie!! We only thought that you were with Motoki! And I would never do such a thing Usako. I would never, ever laugh at you..." he called out, but his words were unheeded, for she was already too far away from him, tears streaming down her face. "Is it the sun's turn to chase the moon?" she couldn't help but wonder, as she walked ahead, a slow and steady pace, pausing for a moment to look back. He didn't run after her. He didn't try to explain any further. Unwanted tears began to litter her eyes, as they sprinked down her face so profusely, as her heart began to break. Her pace then broke into a run as the tears became more wild, a sob escaping her mouth. Damn that man - damn him to hell. ~~~ She had received a full apology and agonizing cry from Minako, who had sworn it was the truth that Mamoru and she only kissed because they were jealous, but it had meant absolutely nothing to them. She had admitted into pretending to be with Mamoru because she was insanely jealous of her. She sighed, Mamoru was telling the truth - but he still didn't peruse her otherwise. Instead she sat alone in the game center, sulking as Minako finally got what she wished for. A chance with Motoki. She looked down at her hands, what of her needs? "Usagi, come on, you need to change to something more grander than that outfit you have on. I mean, I swear that Kou Seiya won't look at you in that hideous school uniform." She stared at the brunette in shock to what she was trying to say. "Remember? Lights' concert? Your prize from the essay??" She didn't really want to remember. "Lighten up Usagi. After all, you are going to go see your favorite singing group in the entire world! What could be better than that?" Rei asked with a twinkle in her eye. Having Mamoru would be so much better. Normally, she would have been ecstatic to know that she would be seeing the Lights, in person no less. But after her discovery of Mamoru's secret identity as Tuxedo Mask, she was utterly and totally confused. She just didn't know what to believe. Usagi was tempted not to go, for it was a reminder of the one thing that had caused her to become the rubble that she was right now. But if one word of that nonsensical nonsense was spoken from her mouth, the girls would have surely gagged her and then dragged her along - and she couldn't live with her head banging with that much pain. "Okay." Was the only word she forced out. ~~~ The girls spent the entire afternoon at Usagi's house, preparing themselves for tonight's concert. All the girls chattered excitedly about getting to go see the three very popular and not to mention hot Lights. Even shy, conservative Ami was giddy with the thought of meeting Taiki. Unbeknownst to everyone else, Usagi sat by her window, staring out at the world with a sullen expression on her beautiful face. As much as she dwelled on today's events over and over in her mind, she just couldn't believe that this entire time, Tuxedo Kamen had been her one and only love... Chiba Mamoru. The irony of it all! All this time her distress was pointed elsewhere ? Minako and Mamoru weren't in love with one another, they were jealous of the relationship that she didn't really have with Motoki-san ? even though it was the way Mamoru had reacted around Minako that had caused all her distress and tears. But her actions were purely innocent. She hadn't meant to make it seem as though she and Motoki were in love, for Kami's sake, he was like a big brother to her. And Tuxedo Kamen, he always came to her rescue, whenever she needed him. She knew that behind the kamen, his deep, dark eyes shone down on her with love. And the way he would hold her and soothe her was not just an act of sympathy and friendship. He held her with tenderness and love. But how could it be! How could Tuxedo Kamen even remotely love her when his alter ego was none other than Mamoru. Surely he didn't love her. He had proved it time and time again with his little fling with Minako and with the fact that he didn't even bother chasing her and declaring his love for him after he had found out he was Tuxedo Kamen. Usagi shook her head angrily, trying to rid the invisible tears that threatened to fall down her face. The laughter in her room was unhearing to her ? all she could hear was her heart breaking into pieces ? piece by piece ? She hated pretending that everything was okay ? she hated pretending that she was over Mamoru for she wasn't. She was far from it actually. She just wanted to cry and pour her heart out over the loss of the two men she loved most in the world. Why couldn't she just have it easy like other girls? Even she wished she could have the happiness that her two friends Naru and Gurio shared, even though he was a bit of a geek. From across the room, Minako caught the anguish look on Usagi's face. Her heart went out to her friend, for all the trouble she and Mamoru caused and for the pain that resulted from it. If only she had known that Usagi had feelings for Mamoru in the beginning and not Motoki... 'WAIT!' her mind screamed out. 'That was it!! Usagi had feelings for Mamoru...and now that everything was out in the open, they could be together!' she thought to herself excitedly. 'Not only would her best friend get the man she loved, she might even be able to get back into Usagi's good graces for hooking them up together. Talk about killing two birds with one stone!' A frown marred Minako's lovely face as a vital point of information crossed her mind. How was she to get them together after everything that happened? ~~~ After what seemed liked years, it was finally time for the girls to leave. Usagi lagged behind the group as they made their way to the bus stop that would take them to the amphitheater where the concert would be held. Minako was just a few steps ahead, still trying to devise a plan that would bring her friends together. Usagi dwindled behind even farther, not realizing that everyone else had reached the stop and were boarding the bus. "Usagi-chan!" Makoto called out from the entrance of the bus. "Hurry-up! The bus is about to leave." Usagi looked up just as the bus began to shut it's doors. 'Ugh...' she moaned inwardly. Part of her wanted the bus to leave so she could skip the concert altogether, but another part of her didn't want it to leave, for fear of her friends' wrath, when they saw that she missed the concert. She knew that their concern for her would stop them from attending the concert and she didn't want them to make that kind of sacrifice. Grudgingly, Usagi began to ran towards the bus, flailing her arms in attempts to stop the driver. "BAM!" Usagi bounced backwards, immediately sensing the feeling of d骠 vu. She slowly glanced up, her eyes soaking in a pair of long legs clothed in khakis and a well muscled chest with broad shoulders encased in a black polo shirt. She ventured further to come face to face with a pair of familiar deep blue eyes. "Usako..." he whispered, holding out his hand to pull her up. "What is it that you want Chiba-san?" she replied coldly, ignoring his hand as she shruggled up by herself, her angry eyes piecing his anguished eyes. "Gomen ne Usa, please just listen to me..." he trailed off, his voice lined with pain, as she brushed past him. Feeling desperate, Mamoru grabbed her wrist, afraid that she would walk away...and out of his life forever. "Let. Go." she said through clenched teeth, as he shook his head, "Not until you listen to me." "What's there to listen to? I thought we made everything perfectly clear," she stated, implying about what had happened between them earlier in the park. "No Usako, you don't understand..." He said, trying to explain his actions but was unable to for she had cut him off, not wanting to listen to his words for she was afraid that she was going to bend, that she was going to shrug of the pain she had through the past couple of days ? no, couple of weeks and make him think that he really did have a large spot in her heart (which he did. "No Mamoru, you don't understand! I gave you the chance to explain, but you didn't even have the decency to come after me! And all those times you came to me as Tuxedo Kamen...to comfort me, it was always about you Mamoru. Did you know that every single time I poured my heart out to you, it was because of all the pain and heartache you caused me. And do you know why? Did you ever wonder why I cried for you Mamoru? It was because I LOVED YOU!" Her voice became louder and louder by each word and at the end, she had shouted, pouring every ounce of her heart into those three little words that held so much significance, and baring her soul to the only man she could ever truly love. Mamoru reeled back from the power of her words. He stood there stunned as she ran past him in tears. But as he turned around to catch her, he was already too late. She had boarded the bus and taken off, leaving him to drown there in his own guilt and sorrow. "Mamoru-san," a voice called out from behind him. Mamoru whipped around and saw Minako stand before him. "Minako," he whispered hoarsely, tears threatening to spill from his steely blue eyes. "We messed up big time didn't we?" She said with a sad smile, "Mamoru, you have to go after her..." "Bu..but how? I doubt she'll ever speak to me again. I don't even know where she went." His head hung sadly, knowing that every foolish thing he did could have cost him the woman he loved. "Do not fear, let destiny run its course and all will work out in the end," she said, slipping a little piece of paper into his hand. Mamoru looked down and saw within his grasp a ticket to the Lights' concert. He gasped in shock, deeply touch by Minako's generous gesture. Quickly, he gave her a friendly peck on the cheek. "I'll pay you back somehow Mina-chan, I promise," he vowed as he took off, while a plot to win back Usagi's love was slowly forming in his mind. ~~~ "Hey minna, where's Minako-chan?" Makoto asked as they stepped off the bus. Rei and Ami glanced around them, while Usagi stood there impatiently tapping her foot. "Did she even get on the bus?" asked Rei. "The last time I saw her was when we were walking to the bus stop," Ami stated. "But I don't recall seeing her board the bus." "Look minna," Usagi cut in, "Minako is a big girl, she can take care of herself. Can we go inside now?" she added impatiently as Makoto, Rei, and Ami each glanced at each other with a surprised look. They had never known Usagi to be so bitter or rude, but they knew something must have been bothering her, so they let it drop. Rei slowly nodded her head. "If Minako missed the bus, she could definitely find another way to get here. I mean, who would want to miss the Lights performing live!" she added excitedly. "Let's go!" Makoto yelled, as love struck stars shone brightly in her eyes. ~~~ Mamoru arrived at the amphitheater breathlessly. He had his plan ready and set to go. The only problem was that he wasn't sure it was going to work. Mamoru shook his head. Minako's words came back to haunt him. "Do not fear, let destiny run its course and all will work out in the end," she had said. 'Stop thinking so negatively,' his mind reprimanded himself. 'What's the worst that could come out of this?' 'Making a fool out of myself in front of millions of people,' he groaned inwardly. 'But if destroying his pride would be able to get the girl at the end ? he'll mutilate his pride for her.' ~~~ Inside the cramped theater, the girls desperately tried to make their way to the front. Luckily for them they had Makoto to bulldoze their way through, otherwise they would have been stuck in the back in the nosebleed sections. Rei, Makoto, and Ami were giddy with excitement and nearly blew Usagi's eardrums as they shrieked with happiness when the Lights came out on stage. Usagi had to admit that they were cute, especially Seiya. She tried her best to get into it, but to no avail. As the concert neared an end, she caught Seiya's eyes and he winked at her. A silent blush crept her cheeks, but she shook it off, as the pain in her heart reminded her of the troubles falling in love could cause. Finally, after what seemed a millennium, the concert ended. As she made her way to leave, a deep voice caught her attention. "Minna, before we end the concert tonight, there is someone backstage who would like to tell the woman he loves how sorry he was for being a fool." Seiya stepped aside from the mike as a tall, dark figure stepped out from the shadows and into the spotlight. Usagi gasped as she saw Mamoru step forward, but she nearly fainted when he picked up the mike and in a strong, deep voice, he began to sing. Whoever said all's fair in love, Who wrote the joy, but not the pain, Each moment that you've been gone away I only dream of you, I wish on a star and every night I pray Don't go, girl don't walk away, I'm half of a man without you, sad and blue. Don't go away, cuz my heart is true. Don't go please stay, cuz I'm still in love with you. ~~~ Mamoru walked towards the edge of the stage where Usagi stood and knelt down. She looked up into his eyes and nearly broked down and cried as she saw the love he felt for her, and the fear of her rejection. She slowly reached up and grasped his hand, gently rubbing it, which helped cease his nervous trembling. He gave her a shaky smile and continued on. This time it was his turn to pour out his heart and soul to her. I know I'm the one to blame, for falling in love with an angel. I found out you were my everything, and now my everything is gone. Can someone tell me how to carry on? Don't go, girl don't walk away, I'm half of a man without you, sad and blue. Don't go away, cuz my heart is true. Don't go please stay, cuz I'm still in love with you. I'd climb over mountains, cross the widest rivers. That's what I'd do, cuz my love is true. Don't go, girl don't walk away, I'm half of a man without you, sad and blue. Cuz I'm still in love with you. ~~~ Mamoru dropped the microphone on the stage and jumped to the ground. With the little space he had, he knelt before Usagi and kissed her palm. "Usako, ever since I ran into you, um literally, you have been the only thing on my mind. I knew from that day that I loved you." In a softer voice, that held a hint of fear, he asked, "Will you be mine Usako?" Usagi stood there stunned. After everything that happened, she doubt that she and Mamoru would have a chance. But now things were beginning to look differently. Usagi glanced around, aware that the theater was quiet, for everyone was awaiting her answer. She looked down and gazed into his midnight blue eyes, and she saw fear and hope, but most of all love. Love for her. Without further hesitation, she threw her arms around him, yelling "YES!" The theater was in an uproar as the crowd applauded with approval. Screams and shouts for the couple rang through the air. Unbeknownst to Mamoru and Usagi, who were now caught in a deep kiss, a cameraman had caught everything. In the middle of the city, Minako stood in front of a television store, watching her best friend kiss the man she loved. Minako walked away with her hands in her pockets and a smile on her face. Her job was done. Seeing that she had time before she had to head to the temple where the girls had planned a slumber party to gossip and go over today's events, she decided she would stop by the arcade and try to win her love. ~~~ Seeing that all the excitement was over, the crowd broke up and slowly began to filter out of the theater. Usagi and Mamoru continued to stand in each other's embrace, oblivious to the world around them. "Umm..Usagi-chan," someone tapped her shoulder. Usagi turned around and blinked. In front of her were Rei, Makoto, and Ami, all wearing mischievous smiles. "Uh..hi guys!" she squeaked. Rei stepped forward. "We'll leave you two alone for now, but don't forget about tonight." "Yea, we want all the details!" Makoto added greedily. "Make sure you have her at my temple by 9 o'clock, and no later, is that understood?" Rei asked, no more like commanded Mamoru, as he recalled the slap she had given him earlier. He gulped and nodded. "Good. Have fun," she said with a smile. With that the three girls walked away. "Um..so what do we do now?" Usagi asked a bit nervously, still locked within his embrace. Mamoru smiled down on her. "I was thinking that we could go to the park and watch the sunset. And maybe talk a little bit, if that's okay with you?" he asked, while gently caressing her arm. Usagi nodded with a smile. Putting an arm around her waist, Mamoru began to lead her out of the amphitheater. "Yo, Mamoru!" a voice called out from behind them. Usagi and Mamoru turned around. And to Usagi's surprise, Kou Seiya was jogging towards them. She looked up at Mamoru with a look that said how does he know you, which he so blatantly replied with a look that said he'd explain later. "Mamoru, aren't you going to introduce me to your friend?" Seiya said with a twinkle in his eye. "Err...Seiya, this is Usagi, my girlfriend. Usagi this is Seiya, my cousin." "Your cousin? Oh my God Mamo-chan, you're related to the Lights?!" she squealed. "So you're the girl who got Mamoru all bent out of shape. It's a pleasure meeting you," Seiya drawled, taking her hand and gently kissing it, causing Mamoru to get a little edgy at the sight, as he pulled Usagi's hand away from Seiya's lip. Seiya cease to pay attention to evil eye that was given to him and continued on, "If you two should ever break up, give me a call Usagi," he called out, as he sauntered away. Mamoru nearly went wild with rage. If it had not been for Usagi restraining him, he would have gone and strangled his cousin. "Mamo-chan, let it go. He was only playing around," Usagi said with a smile, pleased to see that Mamoru was a bit jealous. "Although that is a tempting offer ?" Mamoru let out a low growl as Usagi let out a silvery laugh, causing Mamoru to cease all misfortune and look at the beautiful laughing angel within his embrace with only one thought. She was finally his. "Come on," he whispered into her ear, his warm breath softly tickled her senses. He took her hand and led her out of the theater and towards the park. ~~~ "And Minako gave me her ticket, just so that I could go to the concert and tell you that I love you," he finished, recapping how he found out where she was. "And little did she know that you were related to the Lights," Usagi said with a little irony in her voice. "Is that how you got to go up on stage and sing?" Mamoru nodded his head. "I was scared at first, because I don't like making a spectacle of myself, especially before millions of people, but I knew you were worth it Usako." "Oh Mamo-chan," she sighed, as he swooped down and captured her lips with his. Usagi felt herself melt against him and into his arms as he gently ravaged her mouth with his warm tongue. Slowly, they broke apart, dazed and happy. "We have Mina-chan to thank for this don't we?" Usagi asked. Mamoru nodded. "I promised that I would make it up to her, especially since she missed seeing the Lights live in concert." "Hey, why don't we get them to play a private concert for her. Do you think they would do it?" Usagi asked worriedly. "I think I can arrange something," Mamoru answered with a twinkle in his eye. ~~~ A few days later... "So what's the surprise?" Minako asked anxiously. After the night of the concert, everything seemed to work itself out. Mamoru and Usagi were finally together and to everyone's surprise, save Mamoru and Usagi, Motoki and Minako had announced that they were officially going out. Usagi had fully forgiven Minako and the two had once again become the best of friends. The entire group had gathered at the arcade after Mamoru mysteriously announced that he had a surprise waiting for Minako. Everyone was extremely anxious to see what it was, Minako most of all. She was nearly bouncing off the walls, making it difficult for Motoki to contain her. Finally Mamoru entered the room through the back entrance, followed by Seiya, Taiki, and Yaten Kou, the three Lights. They immediately belted a tune when they reached the girls. Seiya casually strutted up to Minako and kissed the back of her hand to her delight and to Motoki's disgust. He threw Mamoru a look that said his cousin had better keep his hands off his woman. Mamoru chuckled at his best friend's dilemma, recalling his reaction days before. Gazing around him, Mamoru spotted his angel sitting in a booth, quietly sipping a milkshake as she watched her friends happily. Slowly he sauntered over towards her, giving her a peck on the cheek. "Hey gorgeous," he whispered huskily. Usagi looked away, trying to hide her flushed face. Gently, he lifted her chin up to gaze into her beautiful baby blue eyes. "Ai shiteru Usako." Her reply was lost as he kissed her with all the passion in his heart, but he knew deep down inside that she loved him too. The couple sat in the booth in a passionate embrace, unaware of the singing trio, sighs and swoons of the girls, and Motoki's grunts and empty threats. ~~~ THE END Wow...this time it only took five chapters to get Usagi and Mamoru together...hehe.
