Hello everyone! ****************************************************************************** READ THE FOLLOWING!!! I don't know if many of you know me, cause i'm relatively new to writing fanfics. You may have read my story Sailormoon Universal F though Anyway i got this new idea a few days ago, so i decided to write it down. It's an alternate reality. Oh, and please make sure you write me an email cause if i don't get a certain amount of emails by teh end of teh week to know that readers do like this alternate reality (since it's a new idea, i don't know if anyone would like it) And i don't want to keep wasting my time on something readers don't like. Anyhow, i hope all of you guys like this story though. It is really an alternate reality, there is NO SAILORMOON, nothing to do with Sailormoon. THe story revolves around a love triangle between Serena, Darien and a made up character, her name is Elizabeth. She and SErena plays sisters (don't think it's dumb). I think this story is suppose to be like a tragedy, it's suppose to be sad (although i don't know if it'll touch you) Anyway, i hope you guys like it! So am i making myself clear? What i mean is, because i'm not sure if any of you will like this story, which includes Serena, Darien and Elizabeth as the three main characters. I've decided to put out the prologue and Chapter one and two. And if i don't get enough emails, that means i'll assume you don't like it. And i won't write anymore. So please, write some emails to me, because i'm really hoping you guys would like this alternate reality. I know some people get turned off by alternate reality cause it's not about Sailormoon, but please give this one a try. The characters will be the same, just the situation and circumstances are different. Anyway, the story will be set in Tokyo. Serena and Elizabet is about 22. Darien is about 26. Probably most of the other girls won't be in it, but who knows! Raye is in it though. Note: this story is not pure romance, there are lots of drama in it. Declaimer :By the way, All characters in this fanfic doesn't belong to me, it belongs to the wonderful lady who created Sailormoon but again i can't spell her name. Any additional characters in teh fanfic does though, but not any of the characters who could be found in the original Sailormoon. Anyway, so remember to email me if you want to read some more. My email is: happy_hehe@youpy.com -------------------------Till we meet again------------------------------------ Prologue 7th of August, 2003 Twilight fell with a blazing splendor of color upon the slow waking of another night. Serena Tsukino watched as the departing sun half disappeared beyond the scarlet horizons while waiting patiently for her flight to descend. Serena remained silent, but all around her was the excited buzz of the passengers. The shuffle of their luggage. The ecstatic thrill in their voices as they chattered aimlessly. The stimulated wailing of babies as their mothers strapped them to their seats. They were all part of the picture. Part of that untimely presence around her. Today was the day. For seven years she had ran away, she had hid and suffered from that never-ending pain inside her. Serena knew she was lying to herself, all those years of agony were still there, it never once left her heart, because to forget the pain was to forget him. And Serena knew that however hard she tried, however hard her heart yearned and cried, she could not bring herself to forget him. The picture he had carved in her heart was priceless. Serena knew also that if she could choose their fate together again. She would make the same choice and walk the same road. Their story had been precious to her. Serena could not afford to lose such a memory. Everything that had a beginning will have an ending. Their ending had cost her dearly, but Serena never once regretted meeting him that cold stormy night. She never regretted falling so suddenly and passionately in love with him. She never regretted seeing him walk down the altar with another woman. It had cost her. Yes. But Serena's heart had remained where it belonged all those years. For him. "Passengers, we have now arrived at Tokyo!" Serena hurried aimlessly along with the rest of the flow. Yet to her, arriving at her destination meant nothing. The only thing that had ever truly belonged to her was time. Time had been that ageless force that had kept her living to find strength, friendship, passion and happiness in herself and in the arms of another. She could have gladly waited forever to have him back in her arms. She knew it was an empty illusion though, nothing would bring him back now. What happened seven years ago will stay forever in the past. Sub-consciously, even without realizing it, Serena felt her hands reach gently upwards to stroke a spot on the left side of her face. She had stroke that spot often seven years ago. It brought to her the reluctant reminder that she was still Serena Tsukino. Nothing in the world could change that. An icy breeze greeted her as Serena stepped carelessly out into the fresh air outside Melbourne airport. It was mid winter, and the weather here was bitter cold. Serena had arrived just in time to see the last remembrance of a beautiful sunset. She watched as that too, faded and gave way to the otherworldliness of a bittersweet night. Serena almost laughed as she noticed how little Tokyo had changed over the years she had been away from this ever-changing city. It was almost ironic. She herself had left in poverty, without love, family or hope. Yet now she returns, with the proud ness of finding her long lost father, the glory of a life as an international best-selling author, the beauty of a ravishing young woman, yet sometimes fulfillment has a cost. She'd had to face the price humans sometimes have to pay for loving. Loniness. As the rain fell steadily, the traffic began to thin at last. The wind was ruthless and penetrating, bringing back to Serena the memory of a night strangely similar to this one, seven years ago. Serena didn't know why she came back here. She didn't know what had brought her back here to the Tokyo. Perhaps because so much of what has happened between she and he had happened here. This was a piece of memory she would never be able to forget, nor run away from. It hurt though. Coming back here, to feel all those memories washing over her again after seven years. Serena knew too that all those days of timeless happiness had never truly belonged to her. She had stolen them seven years ago in a world very different from the one in which she exists in now. Serena didn't bother to hail a taxi. She felt like some time alone, to relive the memory of Tokyo once again as she took one step after another on the wet slippery ground. It would be a long walk, but she had time. Passing a seven-eleven store, Serena stopped and went in to buy a pack of beer. She had learnt long, long ago to drug herself time and time again with alcohol when tears blinded her heart. It had been Serena's escape from a savage world where society could no longer accept her. Her mind wandered back seven years ago. A mid winter storm, a drunk driver-it should have been a deadly combination for her. Yet her world had been transformed. Promising Serena life and love she could hardly dare to wish for. All her life Serena had taught herself never to let her heart run free. Long before that, she had learnt that to love was the most painful thing in the world and yet, she had fallen into that same lethal trap. She hadn't wanted to let go when everything had finally came to a tragic end, she had wanted to hang on with that last bit of strength inside her heart, but selfless told her otherwise. Serena knew that if she didn't leave him than, she would never be able to let go again. Her road had been marked clearly for her from the beginning, the only thing she could do than was to leave Tokyo. She took another gulp from the beer, and shook it furiously when she realized that it was empty. Cursing under her breath, Serena took another can out of the packet. It slipped from her grasp and rolled several meters to the middle of the highway. "Damn it." She cursed. Leaving her luggage by the side of the road, Serena hurried to the middle the road, never once bothering to look around for cars. Surely, there wouldn't be people around at this time of the night. She was wrong. All at once, Serena was blinded by a pair of blazing headlights. Her tiny body froze and in that very instant as time lost it's meaning, Serena's mind returned instantly to a mid winter night seven years ago? ********************************************************************************* 7th August, 1996 (7 years ago) A pair of headlights hurtled straight at a tiny figure in the middle of the road. There was a thump and a loud eerie screeched as the sleek silver Holden swerved across the slippery road and crashed into a wall. For an interminable instant, not a single sound filled the air. Than a door opened and driver hurried towards the bloody body lying like a small broken china doll cast facedown on the ground. A single trail of blood trickled from his forehead and ran down the side of his face. He ignored all that and knelt calmly beside the body in front of him and felt for a pulse. At first he felt nothing. There was no movement, no sound, no life, nothing. He drew in a deep shaky breath and tried harder. Come on! At last he found it, pulsing weakly within her. He breathed a sigh of relieve and slumped down on the wet concrete ground as two cars and a bus stopped and the drivers ran out. "What happened?" "Is?is she alright?" "I'm not sure, she's still alive." He said calmly. Swallowing hard, he tried hard to stay in focus. The woman needed him now, whatever happened it was his fault that she was lying here. He had been drinking again. He knew it would have been wrong, he knew it would cost him one day and yet he had still let himself get drunk. "Hey?hey are you okay?" One of the drivers nudged her softly with his hands. "Hey!" The man grew angry. "Don't move her!" he looked around frantically "For god sake, someone call the ambulance!" He closed his eyes. Kneeling down again, he took of his coat and laid it on top of the woman. He studied her face carefully. She had a young face. A beautiful face in fact, judging by the angle he was seeing her now. Creamy white skin under a cascade of silver blond hair. The other half of her face was hidden away from sight by her hair, but he could tell even from there that she was a beautiful woman. Oh god. Why did I have to drink again. Why? "Hey, your head is bleeding." The bus driver told him. Absently, the man touched his forehead gently and felt the sticky wetness of his blood. He remembers vaguely of bringing down his fingers and wiping the blood onto his jeans, but his mind was on the woman in front of him. Is she going to make it? Did I kill her? At that very moment, the ambulance arrived along with the police. The attendants hurried at once to the body facedown on the ground as the cops got out more slowly taking in the scene as they moved. One of them waved at the driver of the silver Holden. "Hey! Darien what are you doing here? I thought you were off duty. Being a good cop as always, ah?" Darien shook his head slowly "No. I wish I was, but no-I ran her over." "What the hell?" the cop yelled as he and several others got out of the police car. "How the hell did this happen?" "I ran her over. I was drunk again." Darien watched as the ambulance attendants gently laid the woman onto the gurney. There was no sound from her, no movement, no life? He saw now that her face was skinned and cut in several places. He felt his heart shudder frightening again as he saw her tiny frame under the sheet of white blanket. "Oh shit." He's fellow cop friends were full of sympathy but they had a job to do. "We'll have to do a sobriety test. Sorry man, it's routine." Darien understood, but he's mind was still on the woman. He watched as she was carried passed him. He's mouth parted slightly as he noticed a three-inch scar across left side of her face. It wasn't a hideously patch of blisters and broken skin, in fact it had healed quite well, except for a distinct engravement on her skin. Nonetheless that image remained transfixed in his mind? "She alive?" Darien asked suddenly. "Yeah." The ambulance driver nodded and slid an oxygen mask over her face. "She's very lucky to be alive. I'll say such a crash should have killed her instantly but she's alive-" he looked kindly at Darien "Don't worry mate. We'll get her to the hospital." Darien nodded. He heard vaguely the sound of his friend's voice as he scribbled on his report "Tokyo female of undetermined age?probably early twenties." Than he took out a pair of handcuffs and paused. Darien swallowed but he understood "Do your work, Sam. Cuff me. I understand." He stood very still and listened simultaneously at the mechanical wail of the sirens as the ambulance sped into the night? End of Prologue----------------------------------------------------------- One year later, Serena and Darien meets again under dramatic cirumstances... Phew!!! I really, really hope you guys like this. Since this is not a Sailormoon story but an alternate reality, i am very insecure about this idea but was determined to try it out. Because it's not a Sailormoon story, I'm not sure if anyone would criticize me about the issues (such as Serena drinking, though not much) in the story. Anyway, if you want to criticize me, than go ahead, i accept all kinds of constructive criticism. Hope you guys like it though! Alice
