Forgotten Lore by Beth (Chasewlf@aol.com) http://www.angelfire.com/ny/chasehomepage/index.html http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Palace/7120 Chapter 1 "Agh! I'm late again!," cried Serena as she ran down the sidewalk towards school. "At this rate, I'll have detention for the rest of my life!" As she turned the corner, not paying attention as usual, Serena smacked right into Darien, on his way to college. "Watch it Meatball Head! I'm late, get out of the way!" "Well you're not the only one that's running late Darien!," Serena retorted. After picking up their books, each ran off hoping not to be late for school. Just as Serena approached the gate to Crossroads Junior High School, she heard the bell. "No! Not today!," she thought grimly as she remembered the scout meeting at Raye's temple that afternoon. "Raye's going to kill me!" In her mind, Serena pictured Raye going pyro on her and toasting her butt. "Oooooh," she groaned as she stepped in to class. "Serena, late as usual," sighed her teacher, "Nothing seems to get through to you when it comes to being on time for class." "I'm so sorry Ms...," but she was cut off by the voice of her angry instructor. "Sorry isn't good enough! Detention three o'clock , my classroom!" Suddenly, two new faces appeared in the doorway. "Um, is this our new class?," the girls asked as the turquoise haired girl handed the teacher her program card. After reading it, Ms. Haruka smiled and nodded. "Class, we appear to have a new student, two in fact. Please welcome Fiona and Katarina Hishn and try to make them feel at home." The two girls blushed, not wanting so much attention. "Hi," they choked out as they gave quick waves to the class. "What dorks," thought Serena. Almost as if reading her mind, the two girls looked at her questionably. Both were rather tall, one with her turquoise hair up in a ponytail and the other with her mousey brown hair left straight down. They were obviously uncomfortable in their new uniforms and surroundings. Both of them took seats across from Serena. After the bell rang to change classes, Katarina smoothed back her ponytail and walked up to Serena. "Excuse me," she said, "but can you help me get to my next class?" "Sure, fine, okay," Serena replied half-heartedly. "Great," Katarina smiled and Serena wondered if maybe she might not be so bad after all. Chapter 2 It was three o'clock, time for Serena's detention. As she sluggishly reached for the detention room doorknob, the door suddenly opened and out rushed Ms. Haruka. "Oh, Serena, it's you. I've got to run, so you'll have to serve detention tomorrow," she quickly said. With that, Ms. H rushed out of school, leaving Serena to hurry over to Raye's temple for the scout meeting. As Serena turned the corner, she accidentally knocked into Darien, causing him to spill all of his books again. "What's with you today Meatball Head? Are you out to get me or something?" Annoyed, he picked up his books while Serena continued on her way to the temple. Curiously, Darien wondered why she was in such a hurry and decided to follow her. "Sorry I'm late," Serena cried as she came up the steps to the temple. "Sorry? Geez, you're NEVER on time Serena! What kind of leader are you!," screamed Raye in a fiery rage. As usual, after a brief argument, the two ended up with their tongues sticking out at each other. "Oh, enough already you two," stated the sensible Amy, "All you ever do is fight, we need to be a team, remember?" Both Serena and Raye gained sweat droplets, "Sorry," they said in unison. "Good, then let's get on with the meeting," said Luna. Darien finally stopped behind a tree, out of breath from chasing after Serena, "Where does she get the energy to do that every morning?," he wondered. Quietly, he began to listen in on their conversation. "Okay scouts," said Artemis, "According to Raye's latest fire reading, we've got big trouble on our hands. The Negaverse is definitely up to something, but we still can't say what...yet." "So you'll all need to be on the lookout with your communicators ready at all times, understand scouts?" They all nodded. Darien, in awe that he heard the cats talking took a step back. Crack! At the sound of the twig snapping, Luna and Artemis' ears perked up. "Someone's here," said Luna. Darien held his breath, "Stupid!," he silently scolded. Just as he was about to try and sneak away, Raye jumped out of nowhere and knocked him down. "Hey!," he cried as he went down. "Huh?," stated Raye in surprise, "Darien, what are you doing here?" "Well, Meatball Head knocked me over rounding a corner twice today, and the second time was too late to be rushing to school, so I was curious and decided to follow her." Darien as well as the two cats and the scouts got sweat drops. "Were those two cats talking before?" Darien asked. "Meow," Luna replied. "Talking? Why that's ridiculous!," blubbered Serena, nervously. Changing her voice to be more stern, "You still had no right to follow me." "He looks like my old boyfriend," Lita thought. Shaking her head, "Wait a second, I've got to remember Darien is Serena's prince. Oooh, I wish he were mine" Chapter 3 Later that night..."Luna?" "Yes Serena?" "Do you think Darien will ever get his memory back...and remember me?" Luna tried to choose her words carefully "Maybe someday, he will." "Well why don't you give him back his memory; like you did for me when that plant thing tried to zap my energy?," Serena asked on the brink of tears. Luna opened her mouth as if to speak, but then hesitated. "Do you really think he'd really be happy that way?," replied Luna. After considering it for a moment, Serena fell silent. Luna wondered if she was too harsh in saying that and frowned. Yawning, she eventually curled up and fell asleep at the foot of Serena's bed. Chapter 4 The next morning, Serena woke up on time for once and wondered if something was wrong. She looked down to find Luna pawing at her. "Serena, wake up!," yelled the cat. "I'm up, I'm up," replied a half-asleep Serena. Artemis jumped up onto the bed. "Serena," he said, "Luna and I believe there's another scout that's soon to be revealed." Serena thought for a moment who it might be. "Hey!," she said, "There were two new girls at school yesterday, and the brown-haired one, Fiona looked kind of suspicious. Do you think she might be our next scout?" "Perhaps," said Luna, but we can't be sure." "Hmm," Serena paused, "Do you think one of Raye's fire readings might find out?" "Maybe," replied Artemis. "All right, let's go!," shouted Serena. "Um, Serena," said Luna as a sweat drop appeared over her head, "What about school?" "Oh," Now Serena also had a sweat droplet, "Then I'll go to the temple after school. Oh no, I'm running late again!," she cried as the untied her hair ribbons. At lunch time, Serena spotted Katarina and Fiona sitting together on the grass, sharing lunch. She casually strolled up to them. "Hi," said Serena as she plopped down in between the two of them. Fiona and Katarina both got sweat drops as Serena started gobbling up their lunch. "Mmm...this is good," Serena said between stuffing her mouth full of the sisters' lunch. "Thanks," Katarina said, rather embarrassed by the rudeness of Serena. "So," Serena said when her stomach was content, "Where are you two from? Have you heard of the sailor scouts? Do you like fried rice? Where do you live now?," she continued to babble on until Amy came over to meet the new girls, especially Fiona after hearing about Serena's notion about another sailor scout from Luna. "Hi," said Amy shyly as she held out her hand, "I'm Amy." Katarina and Fiona each shook her hand. "Nice to meet you," they replied. "So, you're new here huh?" They nodded. "Fiona, since we have a biology test tomorrow, how about studying together at my house?" "Sure," said Fiona. Lita and Mina walked over while Raye came up to the gate to meet them. "Hi," said Mina, "I'm Mina, and this is Lita and over there," she pointed to the gate at the approaching Raye, "that's Raye." "Pleased to meet you," said Katarina. Fiona didn't notice the other girls approach, since she was talking to Amy about their test the next day. "Katarina, Fiona, want to come to the video arcade after school today?," said Mina, "The new Sailor V game is out." "Sounds like fun," said Katarina. "I'm going to be studying with Amy then," the brown haired girl said softly. Serena almost gagged after hearing Mina's invite. She obviously hadn't heard from Luna or Artemis yet. Quickly, she turned to Raye and Lita, "Guys, we're meeting at the temple after school right?" "What for?," asked Raye. "Duh! For a fire reading to see if Fiona's a sailor scout!" "Serena," Lita said, "we can't find scouts from a fire reading, only enemies, right Raye?" Raye nodded "Uh-huh." "Aw," Serena whined, "but I want to know!" "Shh! Quiet or else they'll catch on," whispered Raye in a menacing voice. "So-orry," replied Serena as she stuck her tongue out. Raye was on the verge of losing it, so she waved goodbye and headed back to the temple. All, of a sudden, Raye froze. "I sense the Negaverse is near; I've got to warn the others." Quickly, she rushed back towards the school, but everyone had already gone back inside for classes. "Oooh," she grumbled, "Now I'll have to tell them later...but by then, it might already be too late." Unceremoniously, she bit her lip and started back towards her grandfather's temple. Chapter 5 Later that day, at Amy's house...Fiona stepped through the open door that Ami was holding, "Hi Ami, can't wait to hit the books." "Me too," replied Amy, and they both smiled. "Come on up to my room, it's really quiet, a great place to study." "Sure, thanks," said Fiona as she followed Amy up the stairs, towards her room. "I almost never have anyone to study with," Amy continued as she opened her bedroom door, "Serena's the only one in most of my classes and well, she likes to cram, not study." "It must be very hard, studying all the time instead of going to the arcade like everyone else," Fiona grimly stated. "On the contrary," replied Amy, "I'd say it gives me more time to think." Meanwhile, at the arcade..."Isn't this new game great Katarina?, " asked Mina. "Oh yeah, it's really great." Katarina seemed to be enjoying herself, but Mina remembered Raye's warning. She frowned at the thought that Katarina might have been the Nega-Energy that Raye had sensed at lunchtime. "Mina, are you okay?" "Oh sorry Katarina, I was just thinking." "Yeah, and you just killed Sailor V." "WHAT!," Mina's eyes bugged out, until she remembered that Katarina didn't know she was Sailor Venus and was talking about the video game. "Oh sorry," Mina blushed. "That's okay," Katarina looked at her strangely, "Something must be wrong," she thought. "Geez, maybe I should start being on time," said Serena, almost out of breath from the run to the video arcade. Just as she ran through the doors, she heard, "Hey Meatball Head, late again?" "Oooooh! When will he get his memory back already! He's impossible!," she mumbled. "Aw, come on, here, if you're having that bad of a week, I'll treat you to the video arcade," said Darien. "Really!," yelled a Serena with hearts in her eyes. "Sure, why not?" So Darien and Serena walked into the crowded arcade and met up with a smiling Katarina and a nervous Mina. "Hey Mina!," Serena shouted as she waved, "What's wrong? You look worried." Mina wondered when Serena would learn to keep her mouth shut. "Nothing really Serena," she said, "but, can I talk to you for a moment?" "Sure." "Alone?" "Oh, okay...Be right back guys!," Serena called to Darien and Katarina. "Serena," Mina confided, "I think Katarina might be a Nega-Creep." "Really?," replied a startled Serena. "I'm not sure, but maybe we can draw her out if the sailor scouts make an appearance." "Good idea! But I left my communicator at home; can you call?" "Ooooh," Mina grumbled as a sweat drop appeared on her head. Mina took out her communicator, remembering Amy had Fiona over to study, she only called Raye and Lita. "Guys, we might have a problem on our hands. I think Katarina might be working for the Negaverse." "What?!," Lita and Raye gasped in unison. "Serena and I figure that if the scouts are here, we might be able to flush her out." "Right, we'll be there," said Lita. "It'll only take me a few minutes," said Raye. Chapter 6 Ten minutes later, both Raye and Lita waved through the arcade window. Mina saw them and nudged Serena, who turned around to see the two of them at the window too. "Katarina, we've got to go, see you tomorrow in school, okay?," said Serena. "Sure, see you then," smiled Katarina. With that, Serena and Mina ran off to meet the other scouts outside. "Where's Amy?," asked Raye. "She's with Fiona, remember?," replied Mina. "Okay scouts, I say we transform, and show up wherever Katarina is. Then, when she sees us, she'll transform into a Nega-Creep and start fighting us; that's when we'll defeat her and then try and train Fiona to be a scout like us...Are we agreed?," asked Serena. "Yes," replied the other scouts. "Moon Crystal Power!," yelled Serena. "Mars Power!," screamed Raye. "Venus Power!," shouted Mina. "Jupiter Power!," hollered Lita. "All right scouts, let's go!," said Sailor Moon. "There she is!," said Mars. Sailor Venus hesitated momentarily, something just didn't seem right. Silently, she shook off the notion and prepared to do battle. The four senshi jumped out in front of a startled Katarina. "Ah! Who are you?," she asked. "I am Sailor Moon! I stand for love and justice; I will defeat all evil, and that means you!" "Huh? Evil? Negaverse? I'm out of here!," cried Katarina. Just as Katarina jumped up to run, Jupiter said, "Oh no you don't, there's no escape for Nega-Scum!" "Jupiter Thunder!...Crash!" As the lightning bolts flew after Katarina, Luna appeared. "I suppose we finally found the perilous evil," she thought. "Ah!," Katarina screamed. Just before she fell down, unconscious, a fish like symbol flashed on her forehead. Chapter 7 Luna gasped. "The sixth sailor scout! Sailor Moon! Stop!" "Huh?," all the scouts turned to face the cat as she ran to Katarina's aid. "She's a Sailor Scout!," Luna cried. All of the scouts were in awe. "Sailor Saturn?,'' Asked Sailor Venus. "No," replied the grief stricken cat; after hesitating briefly, she continued "One thousand years ago, she was the princess of a planet, unknown to everyone except for Queen Serenity and myself. Planet Fish, it rests in the Fish Mouth; a dark lane of dust that separates M42 from M43. Queen Serenity had a secret alliance with the planet's ruler. Their alliance would only be publicized if the unthinkable happened...and it did, but the secret was never revealed until now, because the "unthinkable" was the end of the Silver Millennium. On the night of the ball, many of the servants were replaced by warriors from the planet Fish; many of the guards from the distant planet were disguised as those of the Moon. None of you would probably remember, but the princess was there along with the rest of you at the palace, and died with you when the Negaverse attacked." Luna nuzzled Katarina's face, hoping to revive her. "I had almost forgotten, until this moment about Fish, especially since Artemis wasn't there to remind me." "How come I didn't know about this?," whined Artemis. "I, myself found out accidentally. Queen Serenity summoned me to ask how the ball was going, since she had some business to attend to momentarily. I just happened to walk in when she was meeting with the Queen of Fish, and I was immediately sworn to secrecy...with one exception...Now is the exception." "But why the secrecy Luna?," asked Sailor Moon. "You see," said Luna, "Since Fish is very far from all the other planets, if anyone knew about it, it could easily be exiled and defeated. Unfortunately, the people of Fish needed one ally, for trade, for protection and to protect... That ally was the Moon." Sailor Jupiter tried to hold back tears, "Is she...okay?" The senshi transformed to their regular form again. All of the scouts looked to Luna. "Well, it's highly irregular for one scout to kill another but..." Luna was quickly cut off by a nudge from Artemis. "We've got to get her to the hospital," said Mina. "Wait a second," said a frantic Raye, "If SHE'S not from the Negaverse...who is?" All the scouts paled. "FIONA?!," they all shouted. "We've got to hurry, if I'm right, Amy might be in serious danger," said Raye. Lita gently picked up Katarina and continuously said how sorry she was to the motionless body she carried. Quickly, the scouts ran towards Amy's house, hoping not to make any more mistakes that might take lives. Chapter 8 Meanwhile in Amy's room..."Hmm, my senses tell me that this one is a scout! Perhaps taking the energy from her and bringing her back with me will please the Negaverse and rejuvenate the Hexed Crystal. One by one, we will defeat all good," thought Fiona. With that, she let herself transform into her true form, the one she had been deprived of for almost fifteen years. Her hair grew to her knees, the brown becoming an intense black. Fiona's school uniform ripped away to reveal an emerald green gown and her tiara appeared, holding the Hexed Crystal. Her eyes transformed to the color of the crystal; not only black, but the black, of death. Grinning from ear to ear, Fiona touched the crystal with her right index finger and aimed her sights at Amy. Amy felt her strength being drawn away, and wondered if another Cardian was on the loose. She turned to see Fiona, but it wasn't the Fiona she knew, it was the Negaverse scum she had become. "Time to go sailor scout, we have a long journey before we reach the Negaverse." Knowing this...thing knew who she was, and understanding she had nothing to loose, Amy yelled, "Mercury Power!," and transformed. Now on her knees with little strength, Amy weakly said the first attack that came to mind, "Mercury Ice Bubbles...Freeze!" Fiona was frozen and Amy collapsed with exhaustion. But what little luck Amy had left didn't last long, for Fiona had already begun to break through her ice barrier. Suddenly, when Amy was just about to give up, the rest of the sailor scouts broke through the door, with Lita, still in her regular form, carrying Katarina. "Okay Nega-Creep, you're toast!," screamed Mars. "Mars Fire... Ignite!" Fiona easily dodged the fire. "She can't do that...can she?," asked an upset Sailor Mars. Luna shrugged. Katarina was quickly recovering and began to stand up. "FIONA?!," she screeched, as her jaw dropped. Fiona briefly turned and Luna quickly shoved Katarina into the hallway. "Katarina," said Luna, "Take this and say 'Fish Power' to transform." "Okay...my sister's a monster, I was almost killed by four nutcases, you, a cat, are talking to me and you want me to transform into...something. Does anyone find anything wrong with this? "Please," pleaded Luna as Sailor Venus was blasted from the room, "There is no time to explain, trust me now and I will tell you everything later." Hesitantly, Katarina took the object with the fish-like imprint on it and raised it above her head shouting, "Fish Power!" As Sailor Fish looked at her new form, she was amazed how she was flooded with long forgotten memories and a command that kept repeating itself over and over. Quickly she rushed into Amy's room, praying that she could change her sister back. "Moon Healing...Activation!," yelled Sailor Moon. She jumped back and gasped, it didn't work, Fiona was truly one belonging to the Negaverse. Seeing Katarina as Sailor Fish, she felt sorry knowing she was probably here to watch her sister die. "Sailor Fish," said a regretful Serena, "I'm afraid your sister cannot be healed. Apparently, she has always been a Nega-Spawn." During the battle, one by one the scouts had been knocked into the hall, weak and in no condition to fight. Only sailors Moon and Fish remained. "I know what must be done," Sailor Fish said with tears in her eyes. "Moon Tiara-Magic!," yelled Sailor Moon. The magical discus had little effect on Fiona and Sailor Moon soon lost most of her strength to the Hexed Crystal. Suddenly, a white rose scratched Fiona's arm and Moonlight Knight appeared. "Sailor Fish, you must remember that the beauty of a rose can be the most lethal of weapons and never succumb to such appearances." Serena sat there with hearts in her eyes as she and the other scouts looked on; since that was all they could do with their energy sapped. After a few kicks and punches, Sailor Fish could see that Fiona was worn down. "The deaths of Queen Serenity and my mother will be avenged," she said sternly. "Water-Pressure... Splash!" A beam of blue compressed energy smashed into Fiona. She was almost defeated, and she knew it, so in a last attempt to survive, Fiona decided to coax her sister into joining the Negaverse. "Katarina, you can save me...and I can save you too," she said pleadingly. "Goodbye, sister," said Sailor Fish through the mist in her eyes. "Ocean Current...Splash!" A thick stream of energy charged water attacked Fiona in an identical pattern to Sailor Mars' 'Mars Fire Ignite' command. The Hexed Crystal cracked and began to fall apart, letting out beams of light from each fissure. The cracks spread throughout Fiona's entire body and eventually, she was reduced to dust...which was swept away by the wind, coming through the open window. ~~~
