"Bob Bouvier" This is my first attempt at a fanfic that anyone other than my sister will read. It branches off on a completely different story line, but I have tried not to butcher the original one too much. I would like Tuxedo Will for his patients in editing my hopelessly messy and awful spelling. I have always wondered how so many people have their fanfics edited by Will. I found out that you don't find him, he finds you. I would also like to thank my sister, Kristen, for reading from the 'Sacred Book'. Disclaimer: I have no rights whatsoever to these characters. But if I happen to make up a character along the way, that character belongs to me. Please ask my permission before using them or my ideas. Chow! Rating: PG Sailor Moon D (Difficulties)-Prolouge "No! Daddy!" Chibi-Usagi yelled. She was five. And she had just seen her father killed. Right before her once innocent eyes. Now they understood the hard, cruel world. At that moment, Usagi's happy, care-free world changed forever. She ran. She ran for what seemed like an eternity. Past faces, past confused, staring eyes. They all watched the terrified little girl, who ran through streets, crying tears of bitter truth. "Usagi, dear, where's your father?" her mom asked. Then, she saw the look in her daughter's eyes. The haunted look. Then it changed. Her eyes became hard. They were no more the eyes of a happy child. They were the eyes of someone who had seen.... too much. "Daddy's gone. And he's never coming back," she said it with such finality, that her mother paled. "Daddy was taking me to the zoo. Then he was mugged. He....he tried to protect me. But one of them had a gun. Daddy was shot." "Take me... there, Usagi," her Mother said shakily. she thought, Usagi did take her mother to that spot. Then, Usagi yelled to no one in particular, "Come out! Come with your gun! Are you afraid of me? A kid? Two grown men with a gun-" Her mother had covered her mouth. Even though Usagi was ready to see her father's killers, she wasn't. "Honey, would you go and call the police?" her mom said in a sad, unbelieving, crushed voice. Usagi understood far beyond her years what her mother needed. Some time to say goodbye to her husband. "Okay Mommy." Usagi walked off and found a telephone. She dialed 911. "Hello. Please state your name and the nature of the emergency," said a bored sounding operator. "My name is Tsukino Usagi, and I just turned five!" "Excuse me, honey, but is there an emergency?" "Yes. My daddy was shot with a gun. He's dead. But Mommy told me to call the police." "Okay, sweety-pie, we'll be right there. Okay?" "'Kay." True to the operator's word, the police were there within minutes. But, by then, Mrs. Tsukino was an emotional wreck. A police officer walked up to Usagi. "Hello, little lady, would you like to ride in a police car?" Usagi was too far gone to reply like any normal five year old would. So she just nodded. the shocked policeman thought. <> Thanks to a couple of months of therapy, Usagi and her mother were fine. Or as fine as someone could be, after what happened. Strangely enough, Usagi seemed to have developed a mental block after what happened. But every time she watched a movie where someone got mugged, she got a strange sense of deja-vu. Her brother, Shingo, was fine. He was too young to understand what was going on. Mrs. Tsukino decided to move. This place had too many memories. The zoo..... the shop where they met...... Osa-P where they had bought they're wedding rings...... Usagi only put up a token resistance. This place depressed her too. "G'bye Naru. I'm gonna miss you. But we can still be penpals!" Usagi was saying good-bye to her friends. Naru and her had been friends for as long as they could remember. She had said good-bye to all her other friends earlier. For a five year old, who had just received a huge shock, that was a pretty good conclusion. _____________________________________________________________________ Hey! How do you like it?
