TITLE: The way things change AUTHOR: Eternity RATING: PG-10 (Well it's not exactly a PG thing and it's not PG-13 so I made a PG-10.) DISCLAIMER: I don't own Sailormoon or Lita or Ken. Just sit back and enjoy. No one knew what was the matter with her, no one that is, except for me. I was there when she found out. My name is Ken; I once was Lita Kino's best friend. Her parents had just left the day earlier for a second honeymoon; Lita was excited for them and couldn't wait to see what present they would bring back for her from Hawaii. I came over to walk with her to school, but first we ate breakfast that she made. Right before we were suppose to leave there was a knock at the door. "I'll get it Ken." At the door there were two police officers. "Lita Kino?" "Yes, that's me." Noticing the wonderment in her voice, I went over to the door to hear what was said. "I'm sorry to tell you this but your parents were aboard a flight that crashed in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. No survivors are known." Lita didn't say anything; she just stood there. "You'll need to live in the orphanage until a foster home is set up, since we realize you are the only living relative of your parents." "That is not necessarily, I'll be fine." "It is not up to you to decide. You are underage and can not be out on your own." I knew Lita would not stay in an orphanage for long but what could I do. I was a 16 year-old boy. "If you'll excuse me officers, I have to get to school." Lita said with no emotion. "I'm sorry Lita but you have to come to the station now. You'll be able to go to school later today." "KEN!" she called, I came to her. "I heard them Lita, you take care, I'll be waiting for you at school." I kissed her on her cheek and headed out. "Ken," "Yes?" "Please don't tell anyone. Promise me you won't tell anyone." "I promise." And so her character started to change. She barely ever talked to me now, she never showed emotion, neither like nor dislike. She would go from class to class without a change in her face. No one could make her laugh, or cry, or even crack a smile. Until one day she just snapped. She was walking down the hall when she heard one of her classmates teasing a 6th grader. And what he was teasing this little boy about was his parents. Lita got extremely angry and shoved the kid. "What's your problem?" "What's MY problem? What's your problem, why'd you just push me Kino?" "Why are you teasing a 6th grader." "As if you care." "I do care Ricky, the poor kid, he's half you size. Can you not find something better to do between class periods." "Don't push me Kino." "What? You mean like this." She shoved the kid so he hit the wall behind him. He jumped up immediately and came after her. Soon it was a full fledge brawl, everyone had created a circle around them and started to chant, "fight, fight, fight!" It took a while for a teacher to get their way through the mass of kids. The first teacher there couldn't do anything and so called for back ups. They needed the biggest teacher in the entire school to hold Lita down. "LET GO OF ME!" she screamed at the top of her lungs. She was kicking and shoving and screaming all the way down to the principal's office. "HE DESERVES IT! THE F@#%&$ B#%$@!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Lita had physically come out of that fight much better that Ricky. Ricky had a black eye and many, many bruises. His wrist was sprained too. He had left in an ambulance. But mentally, Lita was a wreck. Lita was put down in a chair in the principal's office, Mr. Bovey still in her presence. "What is the meaning of this?! Such violence!" Principal Rally yelled. Lita sat in the chair showing no emotion, not making a sound. She just looked at the principal, Mrs. Rally. "Do you have nothing to say to defend your actions." "He deserved what he got, and I am not sorry." "Very well, you must suffer the consequences of your actions. You have one week suspension, and I will call your parents." "Good luck trying." Lita said casually then walked out. "LITA I'M NOT DONE WITH YOU YET! GET BACK IN HERE!" Lita didn't listen. She didn't even stay on the school grounds. NO one knows where she went. Because I know she didn't go home, or to the orphanage the police officers made her go to. She just disappeared for a week. When she got back, she was a mess. She no longer did anything with emotion; she became one of the outcasts. She continually fought and would not answer anyone's questions, not even mine. The teachers finally caught on that something was dreadfully wrong in her life. At first they thought she had started doing drugs, but they quickly realized she wasn't. They narrowed it down to family problems. "So Lita, how is life at home." This was the psychiatrist speaking. They had hired her to get through to Lita. Lita wasn't being very helpful. She would answer with a grunt or nod. She never fully answ ered a question. "Very well. Lita if you refuse to answer my questions I'm afraid I can't help you." "I never asked for your help now did I. Not yours, not Principal Rally's, not anyone's. I can do fine on my own. I don't need anyone." And once again Lita left school grounds and disappeared for a week. After a week had passed I went to the orphanage she was suppose to be staying at, but they said they hadn't seen her. I didn't know where she would go. Then it hit me. Lita loved the park, and especi ally the roses there. So I headed there. Low and behold, there she was. Sitting on a park bench staring at the roses, then I noticed that she was crying. Her face was dirty, her hair a mess, her clothes unkempt, and she was crying. I went over to her and put my arm around her, she looked up at me and then leaned her head on my shoulder. "Why'd they have to die Ken? It's not fair. And Principal Rally thinks I'm going crazy. She called in a psychiatrist Ken!" "Well Lita the way you've been acting lately is not yourself." "Now it is. I'm all alone; I will not lean on anyone. Not even you Ken. Goodbye." And so Lita walked away. I only heard about her what other people told me. Then, about a month later I found out that she had been expelled from school because of all the fights she had gotten herself in. People had started to avoid her; afraid she'd break their arm. She had broken a couple kids' arms and one boy she had given a concussion. Everyone feared her, even the teachers. So they expelled her. I felt sorry for her, she wouldn't let anyone comfort her. I also felt sorry for the next school that she went to, they won't know what hit them. I didn't see her again until a year later when she saved my life from some strange monster looking thing. __--__--__--__--__--__--__--__ Did anyone like it? PLEASE say yes!
