Her love, Darien Chiba, had died last night from a rare case of cancer and Serena wasn't sure if she was going to surivive through the pain. It ripped at her heart, shredding it to pieces and then leaving it on the floor for everyone else to step on. She had been a very happy girl in the past, so filled with joy simply with the feeling that everything was going to be okay in the world. Then she found out that her love had cancer...that had been the day her sunny self died. //"Darien! Look at that bird! Isn't is beautiful?" Serena exclaimed happily as she watched a beautiful bird land in a nearby tree. It sang it's beautiful song and the couple smiled at each other. "Your more beautiful, Serena," Darien murmured before leaning in and kissing his love with all his heart. Serena smiled against his kiss before melting into it.// Her heart screamed in anguish as she stared at the photo of her beloved. It was taken that day in the park when Darien kissed her. They were both laughing and hugging each other. A stranger had taken that picture and Serena had kept it close to her heart every night neat her bed. She had loved him so much, her heart cared so much for him. She had given her more than her heart, she had handed over her soul to him. And then he had to die on her. Why was the world so cruel? When she had finally found love it was torn away from her in the most brutal way. //Serena sighed dreamily as she looked up at the beautiful night with her love pressed close to her. He had his arms wrapped possessively around her and she loved the whole feeling of it. She loved it when she knew Darien loved her and would never let her go. "The night is beautiful, Darien," Serena whispered softly. "Mmm hmm," Darien murmured in a half-sleep sort of way. "The stars seem to be smiling at us. What do you think?" "I think that the stars are jealous," Darien whispered before kissing Serena on the cheek. "They don't have the beauty I have in my arms right now. They blink jealously as they wished they could hold such a treasure." Serena became very warm from her beloved's comments. "Darien, your the best." She turned around in his embrace and brought his face to hers. "I love you, Darien. With all my heart and soul." "I love you, too, Serena. And I'll never, ever let you go," Darien murmured before capturing her lips again.// Serena thought numbly as she clutched the picture in her hand and buried her face in her hands, her tears staning the old photo. //Serena looked down at her beloved as he slept. He looked so beautiful, so at peace. She bent down and kissed him on the forehead. She would never let him get hurt. He had been hurt so many times when he was young. Now he was older and he had her to protect him. She would always make sure that her love was fine and well.// //"Serena! Don't let go!" Darien shouted as he held on to her with all his might. Trying not to let go and allow Serena to plummet down to the crashing rocks below. They had been standing there, enjoying the view when Serena had tripped. Now she hung, dangling over the edge. Near the edge of death. Serena looked up at her love and smiled weakly. "Never. I would never let go." Darien smiled down at Serena and then pulled her up the rest of the way with all his strength. Serena fell into her love's arms and held tight. "Never," Darien whispered. "Gods, I was so scared..." "Ssh," Serena whispered as she reached up to place a finger on Darien's trembling lips. "I'm sorry I scared you." "I could have lost you," Darien whispered brokenly. "Never. I would never let go," Serena murmured before leaning up and closing up the distance between her and her love's lips.// Serena demanded as she clutched her pillow close and squeezed it in physcial pain. //"Don't leave me, Darien! Please, don't leave me!" Serena sobbed as she held on to Darien's thin hand in her own smaller one. She raised the precious hand to her lips and kissed it wetly. "Don't leave me." Darien smiled weakly at Serena and Serena's heart broke all over again. She would never see that smile ever again, she would never see those passionate midnight blue eyes ever again... "Don't you dare let go," Serena hissed and sobbed at the same time. "My love, I'm so tired," Darien whispered. Serena shook her head and cried even harder. "I promised not to let go...You can't let go! Hold on, Darien!" "Usako, my love, there is one thing I regret," Darien whispered hoarsely as he closed his hand over her's. "Never getting to marry you." Serena closed her eyes in pain and nodded silently. She opened them and raced forward to capture her love's lips with her own. She kissed him gently, not wanting to upset up. Then she began to murmure the wedding vow she had written the day Darien proposed to her... "I'll love you forever, my love. Through sickness, through health. You are my comfort when the world has turned away from me. When I can't deal with the pain of reality your my comfort. Your the strength that keeps me going. The strength keeps my gentle heart strong. You are everything to me. Without you I can't live..." She stopped as she tried to fight back tears. "Forever will I love you. Never will I stop. Never will I let go of my love to you..." "I love you, Serena," Darien whispered. "You are my light to my darkenss. Always my world was filled with this suffocating darkness that kept me there. Then you appeared in my life and you took all the darkness away. Filling the empty space with your bright light of love. I would have died in the darkness if you hadn't came and removed that deep pain. Healed it with your love. Your gentle heart keeps me known to this world. Without you, I am dead." "I do," Serena whispered softly, her voice filled with tender love. "I do," Darien repeated with just as much love. Then they shared another kiss. Serena moved back as Darien broke the kiss. "I love you, Darien," Serena whispered brokenly as she felt her love slip away. Feel the emptiness that was slowly filling her heart. "I love you, Serena. Always and forever," Darien whispered before he slipped away.// Serena looked down at the diamond ring that she always wore on her ring finger on her left hand. Soul and heart, she was always going married to Darien and she was never going to betray him. Serena thought as she slowly walked towards the grave that Darien had rested in for over a year now. She had returned to the grave every other day to visit her love. In her arms was a small bouquet of roses. She always brought roses since they were Darien's favorite flowers. Stopping at the grave, Serena knelt down on the slightly wet ground from the rain and placed the bouquet down on the grave, removing the old roses that would be discarded later. She reached out and tenderly traced the name of her love. She smiled sadly and brought her fingers to her lips as she imagined kissing him again. She missed him so much. Missed his smile, his laughter, the way his blue eyes always sparkled with life when they were together. She missed his tenderness. Always she would miss his arms and his lips on her. Serena silently told her love as she knelt there. Serena closed her eyes as she felt the poison work through her system. She had taken it a while ago. She sighed as she slumped forward onto her love's grave. No longer was she going to be cold and dead inside like she had been for over a year. She was going to see her love again. One moment she was laying Darien's cold grave, the next Serena was laughing happily as she was being swung around by her love as they danced towards the heavens together. Once again, the two lovers of the universe were reunited. Their laughter bringing light to the dreary day... Cherry Hill Temple Raye Hino looked out the window as the dark skies cleared and sunlight came through the dark clouds of rain. She smiled sadly yet warmly as she stared up at the sunlit sky. she thought sadly as a peace settled inside of her before her attention was called to by her husband as their children wreaked havoc on the temple grounds. "Chad! Do NOT let Kevin get his hands on that broom! CHAD!" Raye screamed in frustration as she ran out to stop the chaos outside in the small temple court as her children's laughter sang in the air, mixed with the laughter in the heavens of two loves reunited. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sad?
