--------------------------------------------------------------------- Finding Faith- Chapter Five By Acacia Aben --------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter Five Eclipse surveyed the scene with stunned eyes. Mercury was taking a scan of the place, and Sailor Moon and Mars, along with Venus, were checking to see if anyone was dead. They wanted to see the effects of the black mist. Jupiter came up beside Eclipse. "Faye? Are you all right? Do you know what she was talking about? The light child?" Eclipse rubbed her eyes. "I don't know. I manipulate the power of light, that much is clear. But I have no clue how she knew I was Princess Faith. It's all so confusing." Jupiter opened her mouth to say something, but then she bit her lip to stop herself. Sailor Moon Eclipse powered down, and as she regained her normal body, she felt the strain of exhaustion. Her body couldn't handle turning into Eclipse for long. It would be better if she didn't have to at all. But if she was thinking straight, she might have to a couple more times. Enough times to extinguish the energy she would need to live. --------------------------------------------------------------------- In the lighted room, Jade screamed in rage at Harden. "Why didn't you tell me it really was Faith? You knew it was her, didn't you?" Harden didn't even try to conceal his smile. "Of course I knew. You should have known too, if you had any competence at all. Her power is easily detected." Jade threw a hand mirror at him. "You jerk! I can't stand working with you. I can't believe you're my brother. We cannot possibly be related." Harden nimbly dodged a few more items, the smile never wavering from his face. "You should have known she was alive. I know that reports said she was dead a thousand years ago. But you forget, her body was found next to the Sliver Crystal. Along with her fiancee's body. I'm guessing that they were sent into the future along with everyone else on the Moon." Jade stopped throwing things at him, only because she was out of ammunition. "They weren't on the Moon at the time of that idiot Beryl's attack. They couldn't have been sent forward. And she didn't have Prince Kyle with her while she was fighting me. From what I remember, they were inseparable. Couldn't stand to be apart." Harden shrugged, and picked up the hand mirror. "Could be that she doesn't really remember him. She was clear on the fact that she was Faith, but if she didn't have Kyle with her, she might have only partial memory of him." Jade frowned, then grinned. "Her power is cut down by half when he isn't there to focus the light beam for her, right? I can beat her at half power." Harden frowned, then got back his smile, as he casually rubbed away the dust off the mirror he was holding. "Yes, you can. But I'm pretty sure she's even lower than half power. Her strength seems weaker than I remember. It makes sense, with what I know about the Silver Crystal." Jade sat down on a chair. "What do you mean, it makes sense?" Harden decided to explain. "Well, we know that it only works for the Moon family right?" Jade nodded eagerly. "It, by itself, is no match for our power. But it won't work entirely for Faith, because she wasn't the one supposed to use it. I suspect she used her Moon Eclipse Crystal, otherwise known as the Light Crystal, to focus the Silver Crystal, letting her make a partial wish. She would go to Serenity. The Crystal granted her wish, but it couldn't sustain it for long. Jade, Princess Faith is dying. And when the crystal does give, her power will create one of the hugest display of light power anyone has ever seen. And with Prince Kyle leaving with her, it won't be controlled as it should be." Jade frowned. "What does that mean? We'll die?" Harden laughed. "No, of course not. It will make us pretty weak for a day or two, but without her to oppose us, we'll win, no problem." --------------------------------------------------------------------- Faye climbed into bed, up on the top bunk. "Hey Serena," she whispered down to the bottom bunk. Serena raised her head. "What, Lina? Is everything okay?" Faye laughed. "Of course, Sere. Everything is fine. I'm just wondering though. Do you remember me, back in the Moon Kingdom. Or anyone named Kyle?" Serena was silent. "Lina, I'm sorry. I don't remember you at all. It's a big blank. The name Faith sounds so familiar, but it feels like the memories are just out of reach, and no matter how hard I stretch, I'll never be able to see them. But I don't know the name Kyle, either." Faye leaned against her pillow. "Oh." Serena didn't say anything for a second. "You remember a lot about me, don't you?" Faye smiled, "Yeah, I do. You were different, but somehow the same girl you are now." It was Serena's time to say, "Oh." Then, "Who's this Kyle guy?" Faye frowned. "I haven't quite figured it out. Everything is so blurred and mixed together when I wake up. I think that I loved him, but it's so confusing." Serena laughed. "Oh, Lina, I know exactly what you mean. When I remembered Darien, it was completely normal while I was remembering. But afterwards, I wasn't sure about them." Faye didn't say anything for a long time. "So, how did you figure everything out?" Serena considered the question for a second. A wistful smile covered her face. "I followed my heart. It was easy for me, because I already knew Darien. I just needed to realize that I was in love with him the entire time. I had fallen in love with him, and not even known it." Faye didn't answer, and after a while, she fell deeply asleep. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Princess Faith of the Moon had slept in for the first time in her whole life. A smile was on her face as Lita and Mina snuck up on her. They were giggling quietly. "I say we tickle her," Mina whispered. "NO, it would be much easier just to yell in her ear," Lita argued. "But it would be nicer to tickle her." "Yelling is easier." "Well, Your idea is stupid. Tickling her is worse punishment." "You just said it would be NICER!" "I WAS LYING! TICKLE HER!" "YELL!" Faith opened her eyes, and watched the two with amusement. "YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO FASHION SENSE!" "YOU COULDN'T GET A GUY IF YOUR LIFE DEPENDED ON IT!" "HELLO? I'M VENUS? RING A BELL? THE SCOUT OF LOVE!" "YEAH, HAH! IF YOU ACTUALLY THINK-" Faith coughed lightly, trying to get their attention. It wasn't possible. They were far to busy screaming insults they didn't really mean at each other. "-WOULDN'T KNOW PRETTY IF IT BIT YOU ON THE BUTT!" "AT LEAST I HAVE A NORMAL POWER! THE SCOUT OF LOVE? HOW DOES THAT EVEN WORK? ARE YOU GOING TO KISS THEM TO DEATH?" "WHY YOU-" "Hey, both of you, relax. I'm already awake." They stopped in mid yell. Mina turned bright red, along with Lita. "Heh, heh. Well, it's nice to see you up, Faith." Mina said. Lita nodded, her crimson face belying her calm voice. "Yeah. We thought you'd sleep forever." Faith nodded, a huge smile on her face, her laughter barely contained. "So, you two are my best friends? It's kind of hard to imagine that you two are my partners in crime at this moment." Mina laughed, and Lita smiled, her red face disappearing. "Come on, Faith. We decided that today we'd go see how we can humiliate that new prince. You know, the one you hate so much? When you came back in last night, you were so high- strung that I thought you were going to explode." Faith looked down, and grimaced. She couldn't believe that she had actually kissed him! It was unthinkable. "Ugh, maybe that's not such a good idea." Lita frowned. "Why? Yesterday you were determined to ruin his life. I've never seen you hate someone so much." Faith grimaced again. "Well, when he went after me last night, he explained a few things to me." Mina's eyes widened imperceptibly. Then she giggled. Lita shot her a confused look, and Mina regained her serious manner. But after a few seconds, she laughed again. Faith rolled her eyes. "What's so funny, Mina?" Mina winked, then burst into giggles again. "You kissed him! You and Kyle kissed! I can sense it." Then she shot a smug look at Lita. "See, being the Scout of Love does come in handy sometimes." Lita looked at Faith with a smile on her face, after sticking her tongue out at Mina. Faith sighed. Honestly, sometimes those two acted exactly like Sere and Raye. "Faith, is she right?" Faith stopped comparing them to her sister and Raye. "He kissed me, I didn't kiss him! I swear." Lita looked to Mina to confirm it. Mina sighed dramatically. "I don't know everything, you know. For all I know, she might have jumped him. I just know that they kissed." Faith blushed at the idea that she might have jumped him. "Look, it's not like I really care about him, in a real way. I don't even like him, let alone love him,, so don't get any ideas in your head." She thought back to the night before. After he had kissed her, she had pushed him away. But they had talked a while after that. He wasn't completely bad. "Yes, you do," Mina said simply. Faith was jerked out of her reverie. "I what?" Mina shrugged. "Love him. You completely and utterly fell in love with him." Lita giggled. "Oh, Faith! You, of all people, have fallen in love? I thought Serenity would be the first of us to fall in love. She is so sweet, and she cares so much about other people. And you're so. . . not like her" Faith frowned. "Now that we have observed that I am not like my kind, sweet, loving sister, I will say this: I DO NOT LOVE HIM! WHERE would you get that idea?" Mina smiled. "You do, whether you know it or not, whether you like it or not." Faith groaned, and shoved her head into her pillow. "Please leave. I have to get dressed. Mother called a luncheon last night for toady. I have to be there soon. And, if you don't get to the training grounds, Luna and Artemis are going to get Raye to at least burn you a little," she said, her voice muffled by the pillow. Lita eyes twinkled. "You never go to any of the luncheons your mother wants you to. You like to train." Mina laughed. "You told us you'd rather be shot that go to one of them." "Well, Sere has been so busy lately that I haven't got to see her in a long time. She's been training alone, because Mother has her in lessons about diplomatic junk. And I'm not seated next to her at the table, so I haven't talked to her in person for a while. I miss my sis. Don't laugh at the rhyme. I thought it was a nice touch," Faith said gruffly. Lita nodded. "So, you've been talking to her on that telepathic thing you have going?" Faith frowned mockingly, shuffling them out the door, then once they were out, she breathed a sigh of relief. She had been worried that they would want to come to the luncheon to talk to Kyle. Then they would find out that there was no luncheon. Faith grimaced once again, then laughed. "I would have to be dragged and hog-tied to be caught going to one of those." She quickly got clean, then went to her closet. Her favorite color was violet, which was what most of the clothes in her closet were. But she chose a light silver dress, one that matched the gray in her eyes, and highlighted the silver- white highlights in her hair. It wasn't one of the ones she would normally wear, but it was a beautiful one. Once she was dressed, she walked the long distance to the fountain she had fell on the night before. Kyle looked up and smiled as she approached. "I was worried you wouldn't come." Faith smiled. "Of course I'm here. I wanted to talk to you too, you know." She went and sat down on the fountain, and smiled sweetly at him. He smiled back. --------------------------------------------------------------------- "What do you mean, there is no luncheon? Faith said that she was coming!" Mina cried. Queen Serenity smiled. "And what were you saying that would make her try to get rid of you?" Lita frowned. "Nothing, only-" Her face lit up, "Oooooh!" She grabbed Mina's arm. "We've got to go. Thank you." Queen Serenity smiled as Lita dragged Mina out of the room. She shook her head, and went back to eating her lunch. Mina pulled away once they were in the hallway. "What was that about?" Lita smiled proudly. "I know where she is." She hurried down the hallway. Mina walked as fast as she could to keep up with her. "Where is she?" Lita smiled wickedly. "She's with Kyle." Mina slowly smiled back. "And do you think we can find them?" Lita frowned thoughtfully. "We can't, no. But Serenity can. She'll be able to tell if she reads Faith's mind." Mina groaned. "Do you think she'll get mad if we ask her? I don't know if she'd want us to play a trick on Faith. They're closer then we are. Raye and Amy will want to, although we may need to convince Amy." Lita suddenly brightened. "I think she will. It'd be her chance to play a trick on Faith, instead of the other way around." Mina laughed. "You know, I never thought of that." They started to run to the courtyard, where it was most likely that Serenity, Raye and Amy were. "I'm a genius, what can I say?" --------------------------------------------------------------------- Faith and Kyle walked down the stairway into the flower garden. One far from the palace. "Your planet sounds wonderful. I wish someday I could see it." Kyle smiled. "It is beautiful. I've always been so proud to be a Tiranitan. Maybe someday you will see it." Faith smiled, and looked into his eyes. "Maybe sometime I could." Kyle nodded, and leaned forward an inch. Suddenly he jerked back, and seemed a little stunned. "Yeah. So, have you been to every planet in this solar system?" Faith smiled. "Yes, every one. Except, of course, Earth." She pointed to the planet in the sky. "No one is allowed on Earth. Mother says that it's not safe there." Kyle raised his eyebrows. "And again, I ask: have you been there?" Faith looked at him with laughing gray eyes. "Yes, I have. I teleported there one night when I was bored. I never told anyone. Promise to keep it a secret?" Kyle's green eyes were solemn when they met her gray ones. "I promise." Faith nodded slowly, captivated by them. "Good," she said softly, slowly. They leaned forward as if on cue. When his lips met hers, she felt stunned. The night before had been only the beginning. She felt his tongue invading her mouth, and she responded. Until-- "Whoa! Go Faith! I'm so proud of you, as your sister." Faith jerked back, and looked around quickly. Serenity was standing a few feet away, with all the Inner Scouts backing her up. "Sere, what are you doing here?" Faith asked, dumbfounded. Serenity's eyes twinkled at the nickname. "Well, Faye, it seems kind of obvious. Lita and Mina figured out you were out with him, and we decided to pay you back for all the tricks you've played on all of us." Kyle turned red, and Faith blushed madly. "And I suppose that they needed you to lead them to me. The twin thing?" Serenity nodded. "Yes, Faye. The twin thing. It took a little longer than I thought to find you. You're really far away from the palace." Faith sputtered. "You all can just go away. I'm fine and safe, and you've succeeded in humiliating both of us, so please go away." Kyle spoke up. "I'm not humiliated. It doesn't matter to me, because I was planning on telling my family I cared about you anyway." Faith turned, a smile on her face. "Really? I thought, you know, you were just a really nice guy who kisses well, and had no feelings for me at all." Kyle frowned. "What?" Faith frowned. "Never mind. I care about you too. A lot." He kissed her, and whispered a secret into her ear, then said it loud enough for everyone to hear. "I love you, Faith." She kissed him. "I love you." Lita put her hands on her hips. "Does this mean you're going to act more serious and stuff? Because your mother might get a little mad if you keep playing pranks on all the visitors, and she might not let you see Kyle of a while, instead of the normal methods of punishing you." Everyone ignored her. They were to busy smiling wistfully at the happy couple. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Faye woke up, and looked under the bunk to see if Serena was still asleep. She was gone. Faye smiled. On Serena's pillow there was a huge note. It said: "If you can leave me, then I can leave you. I'm going over to Raye's to help her with the temple. Everyone's going to be there, but you don't have to come." Faye got out of bed, and quickly got dressed. She decided that she wanted to go to the Arcade, the one that Serena had shown her yesterday, right after the fight. She hadn't gone in, but she decided that it would be fun. She ran downstairs, and said good-bye to her mother, and headed downtown. Once she reached the Arcade, she looked in the window. Then she grinned. Darien was there. He wouldn't confuse her with Serena, because he now knew to make sure, but the blond-haired guy he was talking to most likely would. She took a deep breath, and slipped into her Serena mode. It was so fun confusing people. She skipped into the arcade. She ran over to Darien and his friend. He had blond hair and blue eyes, and he was very cute. "Hi!" Faye giggled. They both turned, and Faye saw Darien's eyes appraise her, and knew it the instant he realized it was her, and not Serena. She quickly hurried over and leaned to kiss his cheek, the other side away from the guy, where he wouldn't be able to see her lips. But instead of actually kissing him, she put her lips next to his ear and whispered, "Don't tell him." The man smiled. "Hi, Serena. How have you been? Darien was just telling me your news. About your sister, I mean. But he just got started. You can tell me the rest." Faye opened her mouth, and smiled. "Faye is a great sister. She looks exactly like me. The first time he saw her, even Darien got us confused." Darien interrupted. "Andrew and I were already talking about that." Faye almost laughed out loud. He had said Andrew's name on purpose, so she wouldn't get caught up over it. Andrew frowned. "Uh, yeah. But I don't mind talking about it again." Faye went on, discussing how perfect Faye was, how innocent and friendly, how much of a good friend she was already with Mina and Lita. It was hilarious, and it would have gone on longer, but then a man walked in. One that caught Faye's attention. Not because he was handsome, which he was. But because she'd seen him before. He had black hair that went down to his chin. His green eyes seemed to call her name, and his handsome face looked like it was a Greek statue. He was Kyle. Exactly like he had been in her dreams, only maybe a little better looking because he was actually there, and not just a memory. Faye's mouth gaped open. It took her a few minutes to realize that Andrew was saying her name. Or rather, Serena's name. Kyle had already gone to sit down. Andrew followed her gaze. "Serena, you already have a boyfriend. You know, Darien? He's sitting right beside you." Faye was still looking at Kyle, not really paying attention to what she said. "I don't have a boyfriend." Darien burst out laughing. Faye snapped to attention, just realizing what she'd admitted. Andrew's eyes opened wide. "You're not Serena." Faye stuck out her hand. "I'm Faye. Pleased to meet you." Andrew shook her hand, then started to laugh at himself along with Darien and Faye. Andrew smiled at Darien. "Did you know the whole time?" Darien nodded. "I can tell them apart. I'm one of the few who can. Even Amy has trouble telling them apart, I think." Faye nodded, absentmindedly. "Yeah, just yesterday she asked us who was who, and called me Serena." Darien looked in Kyle's direction, and realized that was who she was looking at. "Do you know him?" Faye caught Darien's eyes, and hoped he would understand. "I did, a long time ago, I think. But he may not remember me. Barely anyone does." Darien's eyes widened. He nodded his head and mouthed, 'Kyle?' Faye nodded, and bit her lip, showing she wasn't sure. Andrew cleared his throat. "Um, what are you two doing? You're keeping me out of the conversation on purpose, aren't you?" Faye looked at Andrew, and smiled brightly. "Yes, we are." Darien rolled his eyes. "Please excuse Faye. She's more harsh than Serena. She tends to have a cruel side." Faye smiled wickedly, "I so do not. You're just being mean." Her eyes twinkled, and Andrew laughed. Darien rolled his eyes once more, and nudged Faye. "I think you should go over and talk to him." Faye's eyes widened. "I couldn't. It wouldn't know what to say. It's been so long." She looked out the window, her eyes filled with unmatched pain. Andrew was the one to convince her. "If you care about him, then you should do whatever you can to let him know. You should never give up on him." He blushed. "That's how it is supposed to be." Faye looked at him, a queer smile on her face. "You're right. I'll go talk to him. But he won't remember me." Darien frowned. "It doesn't matter. You remember him, and that is all that counts." Andrew nodded confirmation. Faye smiled at the two men. "Thank you, both of you. Serena's lucky to have you, Darien." She turned and winked at Andrew. "And whoever your girl is, the one who inspired you to think like that, she's lucky to have you." Andrew covered his shock until she walked away. She headed over to the other table, the one where Kyle was sitting. Andrew leaned over. "How did she know about Rita? Did you tell her?" Darien had a quizzical look on his face. "No, I didn't. Faye is a strange girl. Just when you think you've got her figured out, she'll find a way to confuse you all over again. Even Serena can't understand her sometimes." --------------------------------------------------------------------- Faye paused, unsure how to approach him. She decided to just go for it. He was sitting in a booth reading a book. She hurried over and slid in across from him. "Hey, I'm Faye. I saw you come in." He didn't even look up. "I'm Kyle. Do you want anything?" Faye shrugged. "No, I just thought you could use some company. Whatcha doing?" He frowned, biting his lip. "I'm studying for a test that I have to take tomorrow." She sat back. "Oh. I hate tests." Kyle smiled, and then looked up. Then a drastic change occurred. His eyes widened, and he stiffened. He stared at her-- awestruck, it seemed. Then he shook his head. "Yeah, so do I. But they're easy for me. I don't really have any problems with them." Faye smiled. "Really? I always mess up on tests. So, what's your name? Kyle what?" He smiled ruefully. "Kyle Crown. Strange, huh?" She laughed. "I'm Faye Tsukino. Crown isn't that strange of a name. I've heard stranger." He shrugged, abandoning his book. "I suppose. But my name isn't the only strange thing about me. I can do strange things." She smiled. "Like what?" He looked down, then grinned at her, lifting his head. "Well, I creep people out with it, but I think I can show you." "Why?" He looked startled. "I don't know. I just feel like I've met you somewhere before. Plus, you're very beautiful, Faye." She blushed, then waited for him to tell her his amazing talent. "Well, just from looking at people, I can tell if they are a good person or not. I can see some aura around them, and it tells me if they are really bad people. Comes in handy when I'm around politicians." Faye's eyes opened wide. "Really? That sounds cool. What about me?" Kyle's eyes softened. "It's hard to see right now." He closed his eyes, and when he opened them a second later, he didn't seem to be looking at her. He was looking inside her, and Faye could feel it. She shifted, uncomfortable letting him into her world. Then he said something, startling her. "You're a good person, in your own way. You'd help people, but if you need to do something more for the whole world, if it meant sacrificing someone, then you'd do it. You're ruthless, but you'd do anything to help your family, and those you love. You have a core of darkness, though, a pushed back evil you're trying to fight, and more often than not, you're failing to keep it down." He blinked, then frowned. "Wow, that was strange. I've never done that before. Usually I can just see it, I don't have to look hard. You keep everything bottled up." Then he shuddered. "You're dying. I could feel it. You're hiding it, not letting your family know, because you don't want them to know." Faye arched back, her horror and shock escalating with each word he said, and she trembled. He knew her fears. That her dark side was stronger than she was. It wasn't! She jumped out of the bench, tripping and catching herself, only thinking about getting away. This was her true love? She wiped tears away. She had tried so hard to forget that she was going to die. So hard! Darien saw her running out of the arcade from his seat talking to Andrew. He ran after her, trying to help her calm down. Faye felt Darien grab her arm right outside the arcade, and she fought him bitterly. Then she gave up, and leaned against him, sobbing helplessly. Darien held his arms away from the sobbing girl. All he had wanted to do was make sure she was okay, that she wasn't angry or hurt. Having her crying all over him was not what he wanted. "Faye? What's wrong?" She looked up, tears still streaming from her eyes. "It was horrible. He knew! No one was supposed to know but Lita and Amy until it was to late. I just didn't want to talk about it!" Darien frowned. "What? Faye, what are you talking about? You really need to talk to Serena about this, if it's something important." She shook her head, then wiped at her still wet eyes. "I can't! You don't understand. I can't even tell you because you won't be able to keep it from Sere. You're to close to her, and she'll sense that you have a secret in an instant." Darien looked down at the girl who was exactly like his Serena, but yet so different. So much pain inside her. "What about Serena? I'm surprised she hasn't been able to tell you have a secret anyway. And Amy and Lita. Amy and Serena are pretty close." She looked down, her hair in Serena's meatball style. "I'm really good at hiding things, and Lita and Amy are avoiding Serena. She just can't know." Darien groaned, growing exasperated. "What can't she know? What's wrong?" A voice said hesitantly from behind the two of them. "Faye? Is everything all right? I didn't mean to upset you." Faye pulled away, her eyes wide. "Kyle. Um, no, I'm fine. It was just something you said that I have been trying to ignore. It's nothing really." He took a step forward, looking at Darien with a neutral expression. His green eyes looked uncertain. "Well, I'm sorry anyway. Whatever it was I said, I should have known better. I don't know what came over me. I've never had any insights like that. I'm Kyle, by the way," he added to Darien. He seemed unhappy about something. Faye suddenly realized Kyle thought Darien was her boyfriend. Darien smiled. "Nice to meet you. I'm Darien. Her--oomph!" He was plowed into by a rush of blond hair and bright blue eyes. "Darien, you won't believe what happened to me! I was sitting in class and . . . " She babbled on, Not even noticing Kyle. Darien waited until Serena was done talking, then politely turned back to Kyle. "Her sister's boyfriend." Serena suddenly noticed Kyle. Her eyes brightened. "Hi! I'm Serena Tsukino. You're a friend of Faye's? Pleased to meet you." Kyle looked bowled over. Serena was jabbering like crazy, and she was hugging Darien at the same time. Faye laughed at his stunned expression. "Serena is my twin sister. If you're not careful, she knocks you down, then kills you with her never-ending conversations. Darien tries to hide from her, but she always manages to find him." Kyle looked at the two. Before Serena had showed up, Darien had been sober, controlled. Like someone who had been hurt a long time ago. But the instant Serena had come, he had lit up inside. He had literally lit up. He guessed that they were one happy couple. Then he looked back at Faye. She was staring at the two of them with a wistful expression. He realized, not for the first time, that Faye was gorgeous. A really beautiful girl. When he had first looked at her, he had been stunned. Speechless. Then Serena stuck her tongue out at Faye, and the wistful expression was gone. Faye was ferocious. She stuck her tongue out at Serena, and they fought for a couple minutes before Serena gave up and went back to hugging Darien. "Anyway, Kyle, I just want you to know that it was really nothing you said." she turned back to him. "If I didn't want to know, then I shouldn't have asked." He bit his lip, his black hair waving in the breeze. "Well, that's not true. I mean, I never have visions about the future, and so that thing I said about you d--" Faye slapped a hand over his mouth. Serena and Darien had been watching with interested eyes, and Serena's eyes were incredibly curious. "That's not important." She turned red when Serena raised her eyebrows. "Can I talk to you over here?" She motioned to Kyle. He shrugged. "Sure. I mean, I don't care." He was surprised that she had interrupted him, and he wanted answers. Faye turned back to Serena and Darien. "Hey, Sere, I thought you and Darien had a date today. Aren't you going to go?" Serena brightened, forgetting about Faye. "Oh, right! Thanks, Lina. I almost forgot. Come on Darien!" She dragged him off to another direction, and Faye smiled at her endless energy. Faye turned back to Kyle. "Well, we can go to the park to talk, if you want?" He nodded, his mind full of unanswered questions. "All right. Let's go to the park." --------------------------------------------------------------------- She sat down on the bench, and waited until Kyle sat down next to her before talking. "I'm going to tell you all about me, if that's okay?" Kyle nodded. "Fine." Ever since meeting her, he had felt this need to be close to her, to be near her. Like if he wasn't, he would explode, would die. Like he loved her, even if he had only known her for a half hour, or not even that. "I was the second born. Serena was older than me, even if sometimes it seems like she is younger than me. A few days after I was born, I was kidnapped, and raised in various homes. Mostly convents, but a lot of orphanages. I was named Faye Tsukino by my parents, but I grew up with the name Pamela Angelina Michaels. That's why Sere calls me Lina. It's short for Angelina. "A couple of weeks ago, I found Sere. Literally, I met her in my new classroom. I had just been transferred to a new school, along with a new home, and when I walked into my classroom, Sere was one of the students. It didn't take long before everyone figured out what had happened. Sere didn't even know she had a sister when she saw me, so it was a shock for both of us. "I never liked my name, plus it wasn't even my legal name, so it got changed to Faye Angelina Tsukino. I like that much better. My parents are great, and so are Sere and Sammy, my younger brother. We all get along okay, I guess, for a family. I'm new to the whole family thing, and it's kind of uncomfortable sometimes. But I am glad I found them. "Which leads me to the fact that I'm dying." Faye turned her gray eyes on Kyle. "They don't know. A friend of mine and Sere's found out when I kept fainting, and she managed to stabilize me, so I'll have more time, but I'm still going to die." She wiped away the tears that had appeared out of nowhere. Kyle's face was stoic. "I'm so afraid that when they find out they'll be so upset, and I couldn't stand that. So I'm going to wait until I don't have very much time left at all, so that they won't have to mourn me while I'm alive." Kyle looked desperate, breaking his stoic face.
