--------------------------------------------------------------------- Finding Faith- Chapter Six By Acacia Aben --------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter Six Jade paced across the floor. "I say we attack now. We know Faith is weak. It should be easy to take her down. She doesn't have Prince Kyle with her. MY Prince Kyle." Harden rolled his eyes. "Oh, shut up. Princess Faith is supposed to be MINE," he showed his teeth briefly, then smiled calmly. "But you don't see me whining about it. I completely agree, but we don't know for sure if she has Kyle or not, or whether if she does that she knows the truth about their powers. We should wait." Jade screamed. She lost her temper easily. "I want to do this now! We don't have time for this. When I thought I'd lost him a thousand years ago, I almost went crazy. Now that I know for sure that they're alive, I feel so filled with energy I could explode. I'm going after some people. I need the darkness. Plus, we need the slaves." Harden smiled. "That's certainly true. Do you even think they know that it doesn't matter whether you left or not, that the people who had the darkness already inside them are our slaves? Our spies?" Jade shrugged. "Like I even care? I just want to destroy that little blond weakling. She stole Kyle from me." Harden smiled in amusement. "Do I have to remind you that no matter how much you wished it, Kyle was never yours, and Faith was never mine? We were going to get them, but our time ran out." Jade sneered. "But now we have our chances once again. "I'm going after some slaves. If the runt tries to interfere, I'll get her and bring her back for your amusement." Harden smiled a truely wicked smile. "You do that. I'll be waiting." His bright green hair shone, along with his golden eyes. Jade frowned, and looked at him with narrowed eyes. Then she shrugged. She waved a hand in front of her face, then she vanished into the portal she had just created. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Kyle jerked back. "You did this? How? What are you TALKING about? You would never purposely do this." Faye smiled sadly. "Of course not. Don't be silly. I just had to make a decision a long time ago, and the one I made had some adverse side affects." "What the heck is that supposed to mean?" "I can't tell you. I really can't. Not yet. Maybe never." He rolled his eyes. "I don't want to know." She smiled wistfully at him. He seemed more like she remembered him to be. Loud and annoying, mostly, but with a soft heart. So very kind, deep inside. "I don't think you do either. But maybe some other time you will." He looked over at her, with a quizzical look on his face. Then it softened. He looked like he wanted to ask her a question. He leaned toward her. Faye relaxed, and leaned closer to him. Their lips met. She felt like her whole life, everything she had ever done, it had all come to this. And she knew without a doubt that she still loved him. She would always love him. And he would die with her, because their lives were matched. They always had been, and always would be. Kyle pulled away, looking deeply into her eyes. "Wow," he whispered softly. Faye looked steadily into his eyes. "Yes. Wow. I've missed that so much." He jerked back. "What do you mean by that? 'I've missed that so much.' What is that supposed to mean?" She blinked, the spell broken, his green eyes confused, and on the edge of anger. Her misty gray eyes were wide. She had messed up big time. "I don't know what you mean. I just meant that--" "What did you mean? How have you missed that? We've never met before now. Unless you have some sort of strange thing going on. What is going on with you? Who are you really?" She knew he wasn't asking. Not what she wanted him to ask. She knew it. But it didn't matter. "I'm Princess Faith of the Moon, your fiancee. We were betrothed one thousand years ago, and I love you." He didn't do anything but stare at her with his mouth wide open. Then looked smiled, just slightly. "Are you joking?" She looked hurt. "No, of course not. I died and so did you, and one thousand years after our deaths, we were born here. And so was my sister, and all our friends. And that's why I'm going to die, and you probably will too. It's because we weren't supposed to be here. I changed fate. I changed the future, and I'm paying for it. And now you will too." He stood up slowly. "You. Are. Insane. You are completely crazy. I'm not going to die. I'm perfectly healthy." She jumped up. "A few days ago did you have a spell, a fainting episode, and when you woke up you were fine?" He shrugged. "Maybe." She started to continue, but a scream pierced the air. Faye froze. She cursed slightly. "Kyle, promise that you won't leave, and you won't tell anyone what you are going to see. Promise." He shrugged. "Why should I?" Another scream pierced the air, followed by others. Faye looked anxiousy in the direction of the screams. She didn't hesitiate. "Look, I'm going to trust you, okay?" She shoved her hand up in the air. Unlike the rest of her friends, she didn't need a transformer. She didn't know why. "Moon Eclipse Eternal Power!" Within seconds, Sailor Moon Eclipse was standing in Faye's place. Kyle's mouth was wide open. She smiled, and stuck her hand out to him. "Hi, nice to meetcha! I'm Sailor Moon Eclipse, or just Eclipse for short. But since you're special, you can call me 'Clipse." He just looked at her, his mouth still ajar. She giggled. "Got to go!" She headed off at a run toward the ever-growing number of screams. Kyle watched she ran off, then jumped when something softly touched him on the leg. He looked down to find a small white cat, its fur seeming to glow with inlaid lines of alternating gold and silver. It had a round circle on it's forehead. Like a full moon. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Eclipse was panting as she reached the source of the screams. Jade. Of course. Who else would it have been? No one was as evil as she was. She was floating in the air twenty feet off the ground, her palms out, the strange black mist shooting out of her palms. She was hovering about a large clearing, clearly a picnic area. There was tables and blankets spread around, with a lot of food lying around. It was strange, because even as the mist seemed to be moving very slowly, it was going at an incredible rate. And it was spreading around. Faye counted at least twenty people lying on the ground, and plenty more were trying to run at the edges, and fighting a losing battle while trying to keep ahead of the black shadowy mist. She decided that a surprise attack would be best. If Jade wasn't beaten, like Jupiter's thundercloud had failed, then while Jade was still stunned, she could get away from there, and help some of the people get away. She got into position, making sure she was in the shadow of a large tree. She raised her arms up, like she was trying to touch the sky, palms facing up. "MOON" Jade jerked her head towards the sudden sound. Light began to flicker at the middle of Eclipse's palms. Eclipse bit her lip in concentration. "ECLIPSE" She lowered her hand, low enough that they were even with her face. "STAR" She twisted around in a 360 turn, then placed her hands- palm out- on top of each other, melding the two lights together, making them larger. And so much stronger "BLINDING The lights grew, and grew, until Eclipse even had to narrow her eyes. Jade looked horrified, as she realized what was going on. "FLASH!" Eclipse used all her strength to reach out and hurl the light as far toward Jade aas she could manage. Jade screamed, and tried to form a portal. She reached toward her face, and didn't make it. All she did was save her face from mutilation. The light did more than hurt her, as Eclipse found out. It burned into her, destroyed her. But it didn't kill her. Not then, anyway. Not then. The light faded, and Jade fell to the ground. The clear, not misty black ground. The mist vanished the second Eclipse's light beams hit Jade. Jade was clutching at her eyes, moaning in pain. She seemed to be in great pain. And Eclipse could understand why. The light had a different effect besides blinding her. It had done that, but it had also hurt her very badly. Her skin was badly burn, and definitely destroyed. She had melted it, warped it. But the light wasn't fire, that much was clear, as Jade's bright red hair, very flammable hair, still existed, shiny and spun as if she had never been touched. The only thing besides her hair that was unhurt was her face, which had been shielded by her hand. A very much more destroyed hand than the rest of her body. Eclipse lowered her hands. She had been too shocked to take them down. She was trembling. It had taken a lot out of her to make that light. That power. So much power. She sunk to her knees, weary with relief. Not that Jade had been hurt, but relief that she had been stopped. But Jade stopped screaming, just for a second. Teeth clenched, holding back her howls of pain, she lowered her hand. She formed a sick, twisted smile. Her blind eyes stared blankly in the direction Faye had last been, where she still was. She seemed to force the words out of her mouth, forcing herself all the while not to scream. "You think you've won? You'll never win. Not now. You have no idea what you're up against." But the instant she got the last word out, she had used up all her willpower. She howled in pain, unable to stop herself. She fell back down in spasms. Then Eclipse heard the laugh. "Hah, hah! You think you can stop us, little Faith? My little Faith, don't be silly. Jade was weak, and stupid. And she'll be fine with time, although I'm not sure if her sight will ever be as good as it was. It's so good to see you again." Eclipse froze in shock. Then she looked up. It was a mistake. Fierce gold eyes looked down at her, mocking her. Mocking everything she stood for. And she remembered them. "Harden. You haven't changed in one thousand years." He smiled brilliantly, his green hair flowing to his shoulder blades. "And you have, my Faith. So much. You've gotten a new life, and, I presume, a new name. But I happen to like the old one, the one I gave you. . . . Bright Eyes." She sneered, all the while looked around frantically for an escape. Without Kyle, she had no chance of beating him, even if he wanted to fight. But he didn't. He never had. He had only wanted her. "I hate that name." He laughed. "You always did. But, I guess you haven't changed all that much. You probably still idolize Serenity, or whatever her name is now. You were so sweet, the way you idolized you sister. It was cute. And who knows what you think about Kyle?" She mocked him. " 'And who knows what you think about Kyle?' You are so lame." He smiled, amused with her. "How. . .quaint. You haven't changed a bit. In fact, you probably still fancy yourself in love with that idiot." He came down father and farther until he reached the ground. He walked over to Jade with long, determined strides, and knelt down beside her. Eclipse looked around anxiously for an escape. She didn't see one that would end with her getting away. None of the people who Jade had struck down were moving in the slightest. And Jade herself was still making the screeching sounds that showed just how furious she was. She was in a lot of pain. Harden flicked his hand over her body, and she vanished into a black portal. He stood up. "In time, she'll be back. Maybe as late as tomorrow." Eclipse looked at him about the same way she'd look at a black panther which happened to be stalking her. He smiled wickedly. "And now, it's time you come with me." And he lashed out with dark energy, tying her ankles together with a rope of dark energy before she could even think about moving. She twisted in shock, trying too late to get out of the way. She fell to the ground with a cry of pain as her ankles were twisted in directions they weren't supposed to go in. Harden smiled. "It's about time you bowed to me, Princess, instead of the other way around. But you'll have the rest of your life to bow to me, Bright Eyes." Eclipse pushed herself up, and she glared at him with eyes as dark as a stormy night. "I don't think so!" A young man's voice cried out. Eclipse looked over to see Kyle. A very different Kyle she had just left a few minutes ago in the park. Had it only been ten minutes before? Her life had changed dramatically since then. He looked a lot like Tuxedo Mask, was her first thought. Her second was; god, he looks hot. He had on a tuxedo. A deep green tuxedo, which completemented his black hair and green eyes. It had dark red lining, and he was carrying a red cane. At least it looked a lot like a cane, but when she took a closer look, it seemed to shimmer like glass. He had on a hat, and his mask, but she still would have known him anywhere. He was looking at Harden with fury in his face. "I'm--" Harden interrupted. "Yeah, yeah, I know. Prism. I've heard it a thousand times. I don't want to listen to it." Eclipse frowned. "I haven't heard it. I want to hear it." Harden sneered. "Trust me, you heard it plenty of times before. More than enough times. Too many times. More than enough times to last five lifetimes." Prism shrugged. "Okay, whatever. I can tell you're threatened by me. Definitely." Eclipse giggled. Harden glared. "Look, you little pipsqueak, I don't have time for this. I've got to get back to fix Jade back into shape, and yell at her, plus I can't even worry about kidnapping your precious Faith at the moment. I have bigger things to worry about. I was just trying to scare her. She's even more beautiful when she's scared. More so now than all those years ago. Ciao, Bright Eyes." Then he waved at them. Like when Jade waved a hand in front of her face, it too, created a portal. And he was gone. Sailor Moon Eclipse and Prism surveyed the damage with worried eyes. The people were finally beginning to wake up. A few woke up screaming. Then the calvary arrived. The very late calvary. Sailor Moon ran up, gasping for air, obviously having run the whole way there. "So, what going on?" The rest of the Scouts appeared instantly, looking fresh for a fight. A fight that was already over. Eclipse just groaned, and Prism looked on, extremely embarrassed. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Serena said brightly to Kyle, "so, you saved Faye's life? Thank you. I would be so crushed if she would have gotten hurt when we've only just met. She must be glad to have her Prince back. I know how happy I was when I found Darien." Kyle smiled. He and Faye had detransformed a few minutes before, and everyone had headed back to the temple. They were sitting on the front steps. "Yeah, okay." Faye said softly, "Serena, you don't understand. He doesn't remember me. I don't even know how he managed to transform. How did you do that, by the way, if you don't remember the Silver Millenium?" Kyle suddenly looked confused, and Raye urged him on. "Come on, Kyle. How did yo do it. None of us knew how to transform without someone telling us. Except Darien, but he didn't remember it for a long time, and you do. So, how'd you figure it out?" "He didn't." Everyone started, and began looking around for the sound of the voice. A small silver-gold cat suddenly appeared from behind a post. "I told him how." Luna frowned, and Artemis objected. "Just who are you?" But she never got a chance to answer. Faye suddenly sprung up. "Itrinata! It's so good to see you again!" The small female feline smiled. "Princess Faith, I've waited a long time to see you again. You look lovely." Serena frowned, but Faye plunged on. "I never went for that back then, so don't try to make me into a lady or anything like that." Itrinata lifted her nose as she made her way over to Faye. "I wouldn't do that, my lady. Never, ever. Prince Kyle forbade me from talking to you after a while of doing that, don't you remember?" Faye's brow furrowed, and she bit her lip. But before she could answer, Serena cut in. "Just who are you? And why does Faye know you, and why can you talk?" Luna frowned. "Just why can't you accept that cats sometimes talk?" Serena shot Luna a look. "I can understand why you and Artemis can talk, you're from the moon, but why can this cat?" Faye suddenly piped up. "Wait a minute!" Serena's head shot in Faye's direction. She looked relieved, glad that she would finally be getting some answers. "I do remember! It was right after you had me wear that horrible black dress that you said was only proper because I was living in the palace with Kyle. Kyle was so horrified to see me wearing black, you could hear him yelling at you for miles! I was listening at the door. But the miles thing was true." Itrinata sniffed. "It was bad judgement on his part. You were getting married, and it wasn't proper to be living in the same house. It was only right you wear black. All the delegates at the party were relieved, I assure you. And it's bad manners to listen at the door." Serena frowned. "Hello? How do you know who they are, and why can ou talk?" Kyle interjected. "I may not have any idea what you are talking about, but I can tell you that Faye should NEVER wear black. She would look to depressing. Only pretty colors." Then he realized what he had said, and turned red for a moment. Serena seemed ready to blow her top, and Raye seemed amused at the fact. "I suggest you talk to Serena before she starts disinheriting you all, and as the future Queen of Earth, it's not worth it. She'll be loaded," Raye advised. Serena glared at her for an instant before looking expectantly at Faye. Faye blushed, realizing that Serena was going to yell at her in a few moments. "Sorry. I wasn't thinking. This is Itrinata, the advisor to Kyle's mother, Queen Justine of Tiranita. Itrinata is Tiranita with the letters mixed up. Isn't that clever?" Itrinata sulked. "My mother thought herself smart. But not only was I Queen Justine's advisor, I was the personal coordinator for Kyle and Faith's wedding. After Crown Prince Christopher was killed, it was imperative that the wedding be given fanfare, since Kyle was the heir once Prince Christopher was gone. People didn't know much about him, and Queen Justine thought it would be better if it was a large wedding." Faith leaned in, "it was definitely going to be big. I'd say humongous. It was ridiculous. And embarrassing. They wanted me to wear a PINK dress. Can you imagine me in pink?" Lita stiffled a laugh. Faye in pink? That was funny. She wasn't a pink person. Mina snorted. Itrinata fluffed self-righteously. "Pink was the customary color for our planet. Or at least it was until it's detruction." Lita frowned. "What's destruction? Pink? Is that even possible? Can you destroy a color?" Itrinata shrugged. "No, no. Tiranita was destroyed. It was destroyed shortly after Prince Kyle and Princess Faith disappeared. A brother and sister came to visit our planet, and when Kyle and Faith disappeared, they took over, and everyone was killed except them. I believe they were called-" Faye interrupted, her voice empty, "Harden and Jade. Jade loved Kyle, and Harden was in love with me. They were from a distant planet, and had only intended to come or a week or two. They kept on extending their stay. They were very popular in court because they were both so attractive. All the men fawned over Jade, and mothers were begging Harden to marry their daughters. I never really noticed either of them. I never paid them any attention, even after some reporters discovered they had powers similar to ours. Once Kyle and I found our powers together, anyone else was just overlooked. They were very, very powerful." Kyle cleared his throat. "Um, excuse me, but can I have some answers? I don't remember any of this at all. How do I know you're telling the truth? I was a normal, perfectly happy HUMAN, until I met Faye. Then all this strange stuff started happening to me, and I know it's strange, but I'm pretty sure I love her. I've only known her for two hours! Am I going crazy?" Faye opened her mouth, but Mina beat her to the punch. "You don't know we're telling the truth. You'll just have to trust us. And as for loving Faye, well, I'm absolutely positive you do. I can feel it. I know she adores you. That much is obvious. You don't have to be me to see the way she's staring at you." Faye's face pinkened, and she shot a glare at her friend. Lita stiffled a laugh, while Serena smiled brightly. Kyle frowned, after he got over his own blush. "What do you mean, you can tell?" Mina laughed. "I'm Sailor Venus, the Senshi of Love. I can sense it." Darien frowned. "Okay, we've figured out how Kyle and Faye got here, but how did Itrinata get here? You weren't on the Moon at the time when Beryl attacked, and only Serena can use the crystal. Faye had to stretch it to get it to work for her. And she programmed it for Kyle." Itrinata sniffed the air in an act of contempt. "I should think it was obvious. When Faith came to Tiranita, Queen Serenity made me her guardian. I followed her here when I died on Tiranita, because I wasn't done guarding Faith. At least, I'm assuming that's what happened. I saw she would need Kyle, so I woke his powers. It is all very simple." Faye hid a smile, and Serena frowned. Kyle shrugged. "I was wondering what Faye was doing when Itrinata suddenly appeared beside me and told me how to turn into Prism. And then I went off the help Faye." Darien interrupted. "What are we going to do about Jade and Harden? The only attacks that can even touch them are Faye's, and from what I understand, she's not going to be as strong as Harden, even if she can beat Jade." Faye nodded. "I can beat Jade. I already have, but she's not dead. And I think she'll be strongeer the next time. This time I caught her off gaurd. It'll be harder to beat her if she's prepared. And Harden will be nearly impossible to beat." Kyle frowned. "This is bad. We're up against impossible forces, and we can't beat them, our only fighter is Faye, and the worst thing is I still have NO IDEA what is going on! What next?" Itrinata frowned. "Even the Double Light Team can't beat them? I thought the Team was invincible." Raye and Lita exchanged looks. "Well, um, Itrinata, they might be. If we knew who they were. What are you talking about? Who is this Double Light Team? How do you know about them, and why would they be here," Amy asked innocently. Itrinata looked stunned for a second. She glanced at Faye, and when she saw the same uncomprehending expression on her face as well as Kyle's, she gasped. "You mean you don't know? How could you not know? It was wildy publicised when the King and Queen found out. Kyle and Faith are soulmates, like Darien and Serena, I suppose. Only there is a major difference. Unlike many soulmates, one is not there to protect the other." Serena shook her head. "What do you mean? I don't understand. Darien protects me, and doesn't Kyle protect Faye too?" "Well, yes, in a way. It is unusual for a couple, but Faith and Kyle are unique. Kyle is like a power source for Princess Faith. He controls her power, focuses it for her. He makes it stronger, makes the attack more deadly. They have no match in the universe. They have their own series of attacks, which are unequaled in power, except for the rest of her family, you Serenity, and Queen Serenity. But it doesn't matter because you can't fight them. It is a fight on a different plane of power. Compared to yours, it is nothing, but it is unbeatable, and very deadly." Itrinata's eyes were serious, looking from one person to another. She let her eyes rest on Kyle and Faith for a moment longer than everyone else. Faye swallowed hard. "I don't remember. I need to remember. I can FEEL it. I need to remember." Kyle nodded, his eyes far away. "I does seem familiar, but I can't remember anything." Itrinata said nothing, only looked briefly at them. She nodded. "I'll help you remember." Luna jerked. "Do you have a mind meld technique like mine?" Itrinata nodded briefly. "I picked it up from you, and then you helped me perfect it. Itrinata MIND MELD!" Two silver beams of light immediatly went and landed simultaniously on Kyle and Faye's forheads. After a few seconds, each one of the scouts and Artemis and Luna got a beam of light, but Darien's forehead remained normal. The lights broke off at the same time. No one said anything for a moment. The suddenly, Serena jumped up. "I remember you, sis! I do. I remember when we played that joke on Lord Jason. It was so funny to see him covered in pink dye. I think he stayed pink for a year afterward. He never tried to kiss me again!" Faye's eyes filled with tears, and she reached over and hugged her sister. They hugged for a few minutes, and when they broke apart, she was instantly in the embraces of two exhuberant best friends. Lita and Mina were hugging her and laughing, trying to hold back tears at the memories of their best friend. Faye started giggling, and they pulled back, all talking at the same time. Raye and Amy each hugged their friend, while Luna and Artemis merely nodded their heads in acknowledgement of the princess. Faye turned, only one reaction meaning anything to her right then. Kyle was looking at her, an unreadable expression in his eyes. She bit her lip, only to let it go, looking back at him clearly, unflincing. Kyle suddenly reached out, grabbing her hands, both of them folded together. She jerked, surprised. But evidently she knew what he was doing, because she closed her eyes, and she seemed to concentrate. As soon as Kyle saw her eyes were closed, he closed his own. Everyone stared, wondering what was going on. Then a light flickered. Where their hands were touching, light began to grow. Slowly at first, then faster. Soon everyone was closing their eyes, turning away from it. And then as quickly as it had come, it was gone. Serena was the first to uncover her eyes. She trusted Faye implicitly, and she knew her twin wouldn't hurt her, much less blind her. She took one look at Faye and Kyle, and began laughing. Darien turned to see what she thought was so funny, and a small smile grew on the corners of his mouth. Lita and Amy glanced at one another, then turned at the same time. Lita's eyes widened, and she began to laugh. Amy held back a smile. Raye grunted. "What's so funny?" She turned and opened her eyes, and in an instant, a smile was twitching at her lips. She couldn't stop the grin that got through. Mina was slow to turn, already knowing what she would find, the smile already in place before she got her first look at the couple. Luna and Itrinata turned, then looked away, blushing deeply. Artemis looked on with a grin on his face. Everyone was watching with rapt eyes, wondering when Kyle and Faye would stop kissing. --------------------------------------------------------------------- End of Chapter Six ---------------------------------------------------------------------
