Well, this is part seven. I can't really think of anything to tell you, except that I hope you like the way it ends. I have this thing with cliffhangers. This is definitely a cliffhanger, I'll tell you that. I'm pretty busy, with writing my other story, "Finding Faith". Personally, I like it better than this one. It's been easier for me to write it, because this one was my first, and I had no expreience writing SM stories. Please go read my other story. I'd like to thank, as always, Lady Guinevere. Guine has been one of the best friends that I have ever had, at least as close as we can get, having never met. I'm very grateful for her comments on this story, and questioning me on points that I have overlooked. Her story, "Ami's Diaries" is one of the best. Please go read it. Another great friend I'm glad to have, is Bettina. She has been wonderful. I'm glad to have her reading my stories. I'd like to add Sailor Backstreet to this list. Her story is one of the funniest I have read. And it's pretty good, to boot! It's called, "Sailor Moon meets the Backstreet Boys." Please go read it, as it is very good. But most of all, I'd like to thank all of you who took the time and efffort to e-mail me and tell me your thoughts on this story. I appreciate all of them. I'm sorry if I never got back to writing some of you back. I have to many things to do at one time. I'm sorry. All standard disclaimers apply, so on with the story! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- To Lose Love- Part Seven By Acacia Aben ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Part Seven Serena grabbed a cookie from the plate Lisa held out. She had brought them because everyone loved them. Especially Serena. Lisa smiled politely at Mina, and held the plate out for her. Mina smiled and took one, "Thank you." Serena smiled at Mina. "It's great to see you! I missed everyone so much! What's Amy up to? Studying as usual?" Mina shook her head, "No, she's studying more than usual. When you left, we all got more into our studies. You weren't there to tell us to chill. Darien really misses you. Serena, he didn't want to break up with you, it was like the time with-" She paused, looking at everyone. Serena got the picture. She turned to everyone. "We're going to take a walk and talk about old times, okay? I need to ask her a few things." Jennie nodded. "Serena? Are you going to take Rien?" She nodded, and took him out of Jennie's hands. "Bye." Mina and Serena walked out of the room. "Anyway, like the time that he broke up with you right after Rene showed up. And what about Rene? She won't be born if you don't forgive Darien. Even if you don't forgive him and go back to wherever, he deserves to know about Rien." Serena opened the door and they walk out of the building. "I can't see him. The only thing that kept me from going back and begging for him back was that I forced myself not to think about him. I shoved all my memories of him in the back of my head. I couldn't think about him. I can't think about him. It hurts to much." Mina protested. "But Serena, he-" Serena had stopped listening. She stared off in one direction, eyes blankly staring ahead. And for the first time Mina felt real anger towards Serena. She knew that Serena loved Darien. It was the kind of love that lasted forever. Fate had willed it and forever would it last. So, what was wrong with her? "Serena, you are being selfish right now. He loves you. If you can't forgive him for something that insignificant, then you need to think about your choices. He has problems with relationships. You know you are like the first one to ever love him. He was brought up in an orphanage. He was afraid. Things were to hard for him to face. You understand right?" Serena was still staring blankly ahead. She said distantly, "I thought you were mad at him because of-" She held up Rien. Mina saw red. She didn't understand that Serena had just blocked her off nothing had gotten through because Serena had put up a wall to cower behind. Her ears had just shut down. Mina said abruptly, "I've got to go home. I'll see you later." @~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~@ She ran away from Serena. She couldn't stand it. She ran back up to the room to get her coat, said a quick goodbye to everyone and ran out and downstairs, not noticing if Serena was coming back up or not. Then she heard a voice yelling her name. "Mina, Mina wait up!" Lisa was chasing her. Mina slowed to a walk, brushing away the tears that had somehow appeared. "Hello Lisa. Did I forget anything?" Mina waited for an answer, head downcast. None came. She looked up to see Lisa's sad eyes. "No, you didn't. I wanted to tell you about Serena. When Serena came to my house, she was sad. She hid it well, but she was sad. That was that. When she found out she was going to have Rien, she was better, but she was suppressing her feelings. I know she loves her Darien. That much was obvious, but she can't let herself fee it anymore. After so many months of not feeling, it would be too painful to let herself feel everything at once. So she holds it in still. Mina, I need you to make her feel again. Your guess is as good as mine as to how to do that. But I can't. I don't know her as well as you." Mina looked at Lisa in silence for a second. Then a smile broke out on her face, "I know how. I'll talk to Darien." Lisa frowned. "I thought you promised not to tell anyone she's home." Mina's face was scrunched up in thought. "I know, but I'll find a way." Lisa nodded her approval, then headed back. Mina stood there for a long time, and worried expression on her face. "Serena's different. She'd grown up. She'd have to. To have a baby and not grow up, to change, would be impossible. I wonder if she knows just how much she's changed. A Serena who's not happy isn't a Serena I've ever met. I want our Serena back." A smile broke out. "And I'm going to get her back." Mina kept smiling and began to jog to get back to her house. She was planning a way to get Darien to figure out Serena was back without telling him. And to get Serena to tell him about Rien. She can up with a wonderful plan. She laughed joyously into the wind. @~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~@ Serena woke up slowly. She was in a room with Jennie and Lisa. Lance and Tommy were in the room next to them. She was the last one up as always. Lisa was shaking her gently. "Mina's on the phone Serena. She wants to talk to you. Remember you gave her our room's phone number?" Serena mumbled incoherently. "I don't want to get up. I'm too tired." Lisa kept shaking her and Serena eventually woke up fully and took the phone. "Hello? Mina?" Mina's voice came through the phone, brisk and cheerful. "Hi Serena. I just wanted to know where you're going to go today. That way I can make sure no one you know, or anyone who knows you will go near you. Well?" It took Serena a few minutes to get that all in. She still was to sleepy to assimilate much. She told Mina that they would be in the park for lunch, but gave a couple of other places that they had wanted to visit. "Make sure no one goes near us, okay Mina? I don't want to see anybody." Mina was silent a second, a when she answered, her voice was filled with a strange emotion that Serena couldn't identify. "Sure, no problem, Serena. Don't you worry about a thing. Everything's gonna be great. Well, gotta book it!" She hung up the phone, and Serena was left staring at the other end of the phone, a confused expression on her face. "I won't worry at all." Serena murmured. "You wouldn't let me down." 'Right?' @~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~@ Mina hung up the phone with a click. She mentally scolded herself. 'You aren't breaking your promise! Get a grip. For a second you almost told her your plan, get a good grip! Good thing she didn't notice. Now onto phase two.' Mina picked up the phone and began dialing again, this time a totally different number. A number she didn't have to look up. "Darien? I'm sorry I didn't show up last night. I know you wanted to talk about Serena. But something big came up. Will you meet me in the park at noon?" Mina waited for an answer. Darien sounded a little annoyed. "I waited for a long time, Mina. I thought that you were going to show. I thought, 'gee Mina won't stand me up, not her.' So I waited." Mina rolled her eyes. After Serena had vanished, she had taken the liberty of 'visiting' Darien, to talk about Serena, but she really went to make sure he was okay. Darien knew that, but he never admitted that he needed company. "I said I was sorry, so will you be there or not?" Darien's voice was a little less annoyed. "Well, I guess I could make it, but only if you don't skip out on me anymore. It was boring, standing there for a while." Mina rolled her eyes again. "I said I won't, jeez! Bye." "Bye." Mina hung up and smiled. 'Phase two completed. Phase three initiated.' @~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~@ Serena sat on the picnic blanket and scarfed down her lunch. Jennie watched her with amazement. "Even after all this time, I still don't understand how you can eat like this. It's not natural." Serena made a face at her and then got out Rien's bottle. She started to feed him. "Ha! You eat just like that when you're really hungry. I saw you last Monday." Jennie sighed. "I hadn't eaten for six hours! I was starving!" Serena nodded. "I'm starving too! Is that too hard to understand? I think not." Jennie shook her head with a smile on her face, then started laughing delightedly. "You're funny Serena." Serena kept feeding Rien, right after she stuck her tongue out at Jennie. @~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~@ Darien glanced at his watch. Mina had exactly five minutes to get there. He thought of Serena. 'I miss her so much,' he allowed himself to admit. Darien loved his Serena so much it scared him. That's why he had broken up with her. Outwardly he blamed Mina for not catching on that she was going to leave, but inside he knew it was his fault. And for that he felt a crushing guilt. A guilt he never wanted to not feel because then he would have to feel the loss. He had lost his Serena forever. To feel that would crush him. "Darien!" Mina came up behind him, gasping for breath. She was tired, obviously from running the entire way there. Darien was secretly pleased, it was going to be payback for being a no-show the night before. "You made it!" Darien nodded. "Yeah, I was worried for a second you weren't going to make again, and I would never be able to trust you again." Mina's eyes glistened for a second with an emotion that Darien couldn't catch. Then she smiled bitterly, for why, Darien didn't know. But then it was gone, filled with a genuine smile. "I wouldn't miss this. Not for all the money in the world. Not for anything." She motioned for Darien to follow her. "This way, are you coming? I like the picnic area. It's much more peaceful for a talk." She started walking, and after a second's hesitation, Darien followed. @~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~@ Serena and her friends laughed loudly as Rien kept spitting out his bottle. It was always a moment of humor for them. She tickled his belly, and he giggled. She laughed, feeling an ever-so-quick moment of happiness. She raised her eyes to look up at her friends. Then she froze, staring behind them. Her mouth opened in shock, but no sound came out. She sat there, her mouth wide open, incapable of conceiving that her dream had just come true in the worst possible way. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- End of Part Seven ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ooooh, a huge cliffhanger! Can't say I didn't warn you! Watch out for the next part in one week! Seeya! ~Acacia
