TITLE: Finders Keepers.... AUTHOR: Aliyah E-MAIL: aliyah@connect.ab.ca RATING: PG-13 Part I Chapter III "Oh Good Selene, Endymion what do we do?" Serenity asked, resisting the wild urge to run over to her scheming protectress-bitch and have the scariest cat- fight in recorded cat-fight history. "Like Pluto said," Endymion's voice was tense. "We watch." They sat down, both frustrated, watching. Endymion held his beloved tightly, her hand tucked beneath his chin, almost as if reassuring himself that he wouldn't lose her. "Oh, Amanda, why did you leave me," Darien demanded the silent gravestone, it was only his strong training at impersonality that held back his tears. "That was when Raye made her long awaited move: a bouquet of red roses in hand, Raye moved to a grave two away from Amanda's. Serenity gasped as she saw Raye's face. Perhaps it was due to Raye's psi abilities or just a really good makeover but her face was the picture of her youthful, beautiful old self. And Serenity saw Raye doing something she had never seen her do before. She was crying. Serenity rose unthinkingly to comfort her friend but Endymion stopped her the only way he could think of on short notice, (yes, I know, another lousy excuse.) He grabbed her waist, holding her tightly to him and smothered her questions ruthlessly with a kiss so passionate it shocked him. Unfortunately, when they went up for air Darien was getting up to leave and Raye's tears had miraculously disappeared. Endymion looked at his wife guiltily, "I'd better find out what happened." "No way, mister. I'm staying with Raye and you follow Darien - no more distractions, aye." "Baby, you're my only distraction," Endymion leant down for an encore performance but was turned away. "I'd better be. Go!" Serenity whispered, already heading towards Raye who was starring off at Darien. "Miss?" Serenity nudged Raye's shoulder gently. "Are you all right?" "Huh? Oh - uh -yeah. I'm fine. Why do you ask?" "Well, you seem rather upset - sometimes it's better to talk about it." Serenity wanted to strangle the fourteen year old with the tear-streaked face but somehow maintained a sympathetic demeanor. "Tell me something...?" "Julianna." Where had that name come from, Serenity had no idea - she was just glad it was there. "Julianna. If you were madly in love with someone and you were good friends with his wife what would you do?" "Do you want my honest answer?" "Yes." Well she couldn't exactly say 'no, lie to me!' "Forget him. No man is irreplaceable and no man is worth breaking a friendship over." "What if it was love?" "Love is a two-sided thing. Unrequited love is an oxymoron. Love is when two people love each other." "What if she stole him from you?" Geez, would she ever give up! "When you steal something, it must have belonged to someone. Can a person belong to another?" "You can't possibly understand!" "Is it that or are you looking for justification and I'm not giving it to you?" Raye became very still, "justification for what?" "For trying to steal him back -isn't that what you want to do?" Raye relaxed, "maybe." She laughed, "I was just about to go to the arcade, care to join me?" "I'd love to -wait, what's your name?" "Raye."
