Sailor Moon Scouts Honor Chapter 2 Raye and Lita just sat there with shocked looks upon thier faces. "Ami's what?" Lita got out finally. "She's dying Lita. Greg somehow got my cellular phone number and just called me. I don't know any other details, but we have to leave right away". Mina's voice was stone serious, but softened a little when she addressed Raye. "I understand if you can't go Raye-I know the death of your grandfather hit you pretty hard-" Raye held her hand up. "No. Ami is one of my friends. She'd do the same for me, and we've saved each other so many times that I couldn't not go". Mina smiled at that; she knew exactly what Raye was talking about. Lita stood up, taking charge. "Well lets not just stand around here-our friend needs us". She turned to Mina. "Mina, you get the travel arangements in order". Lita picked up her handbag and shuffled through it. She pulled out an ATM card and a piece of paper. "Here", she said, handing the items to Mina. "Take out what you need, this is the PIN number", indicating the piece of paper with a four digit code on it. Mina began to protest, but Lita would have none of it. "We don't have time for this! Take it and go-we'll meet you at the airport at-",she paused to glance at her watch, "seven thirty. We'll just have to wait there for the next available flight. Now lets get moving!" Raye and Mina nodded grimly at the tall scout, unsure what they would face when they arrived at thier destination. ********************************************************************** Darien was having his second cup of coffee trying to escape the nightmare from the previous night. He looked at the clock on his kitchen wall-6:30 AM. "Great," he muttered to himself. "Maybe I should just take the day off. . .but then I just might sit around here all day and think about her-" He was cut off by a shooting pain that blasted through to the center of his skull-it was a pain that made him scream. . .until he saw something. . . "Am I dreaming again?", he asked himself. He could make out a hillside. . .one he had never seen before. A word on the hill began to take form. . . H O L L Y W O O D "What does it mean?", he wondererd out loud. {Darien. . .please help. . .me. . .} The voice he heard in his head woke him up in a hurry. "Serina. . .she's still alive. . ." He quickly went to his room to dress, gathered some personal belongings and the bulk of his money that he kept in his safe in the closet. After making a call to the answering service for his job, telling them he was taking a few days off because of a death in the family, Darien opened his door to leave- -to find Lita and Raye standing there about to knock. *********************************************************************** She awoke with a start-unsure if she was really calling his name, or if had been just another dream. It was daylight outside now, so she wearily picked herself off the warehouse floor, and gathered her belongings for the day. "Off to work I suppose",she said quietly to herself. 'Work' was a job at a local fast food restaurant-owned by a Japanese family. She had been fortunate to be able to get a job there, even though it made her just enough money to stay alive. Her English was pretty bad when she first got here, more than 3 years ago. But with the help of the nice people at her place of employment, she had been able to make it by with a 'slang' version of English. She was interupted by the sound of someone calling her name. "Hey Serina!!!" the voice called. A tall thin looking teen of 19 walked up to her from outside. He had short, brown hair and a bearded face. He walked up to the former scout and grabbed her by the hair and kissed her forcefully onthe lips. Serina was showing discomfort, but did not struggle-for fear of angering him. "Jake", she said when they broke off. "I really don't have the time for-" "Oh, little miss princess gotta hot date, huh?" he teased, mockingly. She fumed at that one. Jake had found her on the streets first, and showed her around the city, getting her familarized with the various people and places to look out for. But Jake wanted more than a mere friendship-she couldn't remember when he hadn't tried to get in her pants-but nonetheless, she gave in to most of his smaller advances- he was after all, all she had right now. She continued to dress while she talked. "Did they ever teach you how to knock down on the farm?" He made oogleing noises at he as she dressed, and reached out and slapped her firmly on the butt. It made her shriek and turn around to strike him. But she'd forgoten how fast he was. He grabbed her open palm in mid-swing and reached around with his free hand to grab her by the hair. He pulled her head back so hard that she had little choice but to look into his madening eyes. "Never forget this, Serina my DEAR!" he said with a sneer. "I made what you are today, and I'll take it all back if you don't start treatng me with a little more respect. Is that clear rabbit?" All Serina could do was nod as her eyes welled up with tears. "Good", he said,a smile coming to his face again. "Now you'd better get going, wouldn't want to be late for work dearie." He dropped her on her behind and began to walk away, whistling a merry tune. Serina just sat there and cried, thinking to herself "I can't take it anymore, I can't take it anymore. . ." ********************************************************************** "I'm sorry girls,I'm just leaving." Darien had one foot out the door when Raye quitely spoke: "Ami's dying Darien. We're going to Germany to see her." Darien couldn't believe what was happening. He started to chuckle. But it was not a laugh out of fun or happiness. It was the kind of laugh when you just can't take anymore. Lita didn't understand that though, and was about to land a kick to his head. Just to wake him up to reality. "What the hell is so damn funny?" she demanded hotly. "Raye said Ami-" "I know where she is." Raye thought Darien was slowly losing his mind. "Darien, we just told you where she is. In Germany." "No Raye. . .I know where SHE is. . ." Raye still didn't quite get it. "Darien, are you feeling alright?" Lita's eyes widened with realization as she began to comprehend. "Y-you mean HER???", she stammered. "Yeah Lita, HER.I don't know how, but I'm on my way to the States right now to try to find her" Raye was still lost. "Is this some kind of joke? What are you guys talking about?" Raye didn't like to be left out of the loop, and the anger in her voice became more apparent. Lita turned to her friend. "Damnit Raye! Darien knows where Serina is!!!" Raye thought she was going to faint right there. Her eyes became wide and glassy. "W-wait a sec. . .You m-mean Darien knows w-where she is?", Raye stuttered, finally getting it. "In the States somewere Raye" Darien said, voice shaking. "I had some kinda of vision-like the ones I had when Rubeus was around. Except this one damn near killed me. I saw the word 'Hollywood' on a hill. . .and then I heard her call to me." Darien looked at his watch. "I'm sorry girls. . .I have a plane to catch. . .tell Ami. . ." His voice trailed off, not quite knowing what to say. Raye turned to him. "Darien" she started. She pulled out a locket from her purse and handed it to Darien. "I. . .I know we've had our differences in the past, but I want Serina back as much as everyone else does." She looked down at her feet, tears begining to well. "But if you really do find her, give her this." She handed the locket to Darien and looked into his eyes. She found him looking back at her, in silent thanks for still believing in him and Serina. Lita quickly scribbled a phone number on a small scrap of paper and handed it to him. "Here", she said. "Call us as soon as you find anything, ok?" Darien took the paper and nodded an affirmative. He grabbed his bag and proceeded down the hall when Raye called out to him. "Darien?" He stopped and turned to her. "Good luck" she said. "Good luck to us all" he replied. He turned and walked away. "Good luck to us all" Raye quietly echoed. . . *********************************************************************** The small black cat with a cresent moon on her forehead moved silently though the alley, following the blonde girls' movement very carefully. When she was satisfied that she had made to work safely she turned to return to thier 'home'. She cursed herself silently. She knew she had to do something, but what? It had taken her so long to finally find her again, and now she had no idea how to get her back where she belonged. In all the thousands of years she had protected the scouts, she had never delt with a situation quite like this one. "Luuuuunnnnnnnnnnaaaaaaaaaaa", a voice croaked from behind the trash can to her left. What the in the name of the moon? she thought to herself. Luna peered carefully behind the can and garbage- "ARTEMIS!!!" she screamed, agast at the sight before her. The white cat struggled to his feet, pieces of fur ripped from his sides. His left rear leg appeared to be twisted in an un-cat like way. His right eye was crusted with blood and his tail was missing from the top. "You have to warn them..." he coughed. "You have to warn them or they will all die. . ." The white cat collapsed at Luna's feet. Luna screamed at the night, other alley cats joining in her song of despair. . . To Be Continued in Chapter 3 Special thanx to Atrtemis and Luna's Command HQ for posting this on their site:-) infinityrecord@geocities.com CeeJaou812@aol.com C.J. Ambrosia
