BTW-I would have to give this an 'R' rating for adult language. Sailor Moon Scouts Honor Chapter 3 "Excuse me sir", said a cheerful voice in American. "We will be arriving at our destonation in a few minutes. Please return your seat to it's upright position". Darien Chiba stirred at the voice, wearily opened his eyes and looked up to the smiling stewardess. "Uh...ok...thank you", he mumbled in accented English. His human alarm clock smiled and walked away. He wiped the sleep out of his eyes and looked at his watch. 10:30 AM he said to himself. Now where do I start to look? He looked out the window upon a new land, unsure of where to find his lost love. . . ************************************************************************ Elsewhere, on the other side of the world, Lita, Raye, and Mina had just walked off the plane when they spotted Greg coming toward them. He hasn't changed, thought Mina to herself. He had on a blue jean-jacket and a black pair of sweatpants. His hair was still a bit longer than say Dariens, but well kept. But his eyes showed the largest change. Sadness and desperation were on his face. She could see the loss of sleep under his eyes as well. He walked up to them. "Uh...hi girls..." he started, but was cut off as the girls each took a turn with a friendly hug and kiss on the cheek. "Uh...thanks...I mean...thanks for coming", he stammered. "It's okay Greg", Mina said qiuetly. "How is she?" Greg turned away and sighed. Mina could see the tears starting make thier way down his face. "Do you know what it's like? Knowing the future and not being able to do anything about it?" His voice got quiet, unfeeling. "I just..."he started. Raye moved in now "Maybe we should go see Ami. We can talk about it on the way". She was aware of the faces starting to look in on thier situation, and didn't want this to be a public event. Greg, shaken from his frustrations, must have noticed too. "Yeah ..."he started. "Maybe you're-" The sound of an explosive thunder cut him off-he looked down to see his chest slightly smoldering. He did not, however, see the gaping hole in his chest. His last thoughts of Ami were drowned out by the screams of the girls. . . ************************************************************************ Darien was not having a good day. Not that this would be great if he hadn't been occupied with finding Serina. If fact, he thought to himself, this would be a great place for a vaction. But he shrugged the thought off and continued his search-which to this point was not going well. Not well at all. "Excuse me ma'am" he called for what seemed like the one thou- sandth time. "Have you seen this girl anywhere?" He flashed a picture of him and Serina before Rubeus came around. The young lady studied the picture for a minute. "Hmmm I'm not sure, but maybe you could try the Chinatown district", she said, almost in a hurry to leave. Darien tried hard to hide his dissapointment. "Well thank you anyway ma'ma. Have a nice day". The woman wished him a quick good luck and went on her way. "Great," he muttered. "Chinatown. . .will be like finding a needle in a haystack." He looked up at the sky and deducted that it would be dusk soon. "Well, better get a move on then". He wearily made his way down the road to his destination, Serina's voice playing over and over in his mind. . . ************************************************************************ "Damnit Jake leave me alone!!!" Serina was practicaly screaming by now, trying to get the young man away from her. He followed her halfway home from work, and was try- ing to get her to go with him-one way or another. And he was just pissing her off for being there too. "Come on you little baby, I got some stuff, and some friends of mine want to meet you", he said to her, holding her by the arm. Serina knew what his friends were about, and was trying very hard to stay off the drugs that he had gotten her hooked on. "Jake", she pleaded, "It's been a really long day, and I just want go home". She was begining to get scared, and did not want a repeat performance of what happened earlier in the day. He was capable of much more than that, and she knew about that first hand. But Jake was having none of it. He continued to pull Serina by the arm, despite her cries. He was interupted by sound of a fairly accented Japanese voice. A male Japanese voice. "Hey why don't you leave her alone?" This guy must be out of his mind Jake thought to himeself. Tur- ning to his adversary he said: "Why don't you go mind your own business, chink". He put emphasis on the insult to see if he would back off. He didn't. He just didn't know Darien Chiba that well. Big mistake. As he moved closer to the struggling woman, Darien got his first glimpse of who she was. He stopped dead in his tracks. "Serina. . .?" he asked quietly, his mouth suddenly going dry. It was then he saw her eyes and he knew. He knew! It WAS her. All of his memories of the past 3 years flew away in the blink of an eye. The love was still there-he saw it in her eyes too-but only for a second. Replaced by fear and uncertainty. The tears began to fall in her eyes as she turned her head away. Jake saw it too, and turned to Serina. "You know this jerk?" he asked menecingly. She didn't answer, and he wouldn't have heard it if she did. All Jake heard was the thudding of a fist against the side of his head. A powerful one at that-it made him release his hold on Serina and fall to ground. Darien returned his attention to Serina and noticed the startled look on her face-she was scared. No, he thought. She was frightened. Of me. She backed away from him with fear in her eyes. "Stay away from me you. . you. . .BASTARD!!!" She screamed at him and ran away. Darien began to go after her, determined to find her hideout-when a female voice screamed his name from be hind him. He turned around- -to find no one there. No one. Not even the guy who was roughing up Serina. Vanished. He was about to turn around to go look for Serina when something caught his eye. He looked down and saw a black cat, staring at him as if he were dead. A black cat. With a gold cresent moon on it's forhead. "Luna?" he asked quietly, so that anyone watching might not think he was losing his mind. To his great suprise(and relief) she answered him. "Darien please", Luna answered. "I need your help". She was out breath, obviously running to find someone. "Please come with me. Artemis-" "But Serina" he cut in. "I know where she lives Darien, but Artemis is dying. Please Dar- ien," she pleaded, on the verge of tears herself. "We can find Serina later, but Artemis needs our help now!!!" Darien turned to the direction which Serina ran. He still had her frightened face in his mind. Still wondering what happened to her all these years. He turned to the cat and said:"Ok. Lets go". He let Luna lead him into the alleys of San Fransisco, thoughts of his love still on his mind. ************************************************************************* Lita and Mina looked at each other nervously as they approched Ami's house. After all the carnage they had seen in thier lives, they still weren't sure if they knew how to handle a close friend dying. Now it was happening twice in one day. They agreed that Raye would stay with Greg at the hospital while Lita and Mina went to see Ami. Greg had been upgraded to stable condition after surgery, but he was still not out of the woods. The doctors has told them that the next twenty four to forty eight hours would be the most important for him. Raye took it upon her- self to volunter to stay behind, telling the other two to hurry and get to Ami-before it was too late. Not that they thought they could do anything about it. They still had no idea what was killing her; Greg and the other doctors could find no reason. They told him that her body was just shutting down. He told Mina how it tore him apart inside to be able to see that she would die, but never know why. They arrived at Ami's house and rang the doorbell. An old woman appeared. She looked at the two scouts and beckoned them inside. Appare- ntly Greg had told the woman about thier arrival, and Mina guessed to herself that the woman was some kind of maid or housekeeper. They walked into the house and was suprised by it's grandure. Sweeping cielings and and large staircase stood before them. Lita whis- tled aloud. Mina nodded in agreement. Neither one of them knew Ami was this well off. The old woman walked past them and began up the stairs. A silent look told them to follow her, and they did. When they reached the top of the stairs they saw a large set of double doors in front of them. The woman opened them, and steped back to allow the girls to enter. They did, and the woman closed the doors behind them, barely making a sound. The girls walked closer to the bed which Ami Munzo was sleeping on. . . ************************************************************************ . . . she floated in and out of the dream. . .tossing and turn- ing, her mind becoming less and less aware of who or what she was. . . she tried to remember. . . . . .she was at a party. . .a ball, to be more precise. . .but all the people at the ball were faceless. . .she didn't understand why it didn't frighten her. . .they were all dancing gracefully with each other. . .and then the sounds of screaming and fighting surrounded her at all corners. . .she tried to fight them off. . .they attacked her with paper plates and napkins. . .but it hurt. . .and they cut her. . . her arms. . .her legs. . .her face. . . . . .and then she was falling. . .into darkness or was it light she couldn't tell she felt she was losing her mind but did she have one to begin with and pain stuck through her body in her head the sound was there and then it wasn't and all at once she saw people she knew but couldn't recognize as she fell was she moving too much to think about I don't want to be here you have no choice she heard a voice say or did she was it in her mind again she screamed but no sound came and another voice came and then went and then came again now you shall know pain and the pain was great and wouldn't stop as she was here and there and everywhere at once and she thought and did not think and she saw the light again and the darkness came and went again you will be mine but why me she asked to no one in particular because no one was there or was there she continued to fall into the depths of nowhere because she had absolutely no idea where she was or where she was going how long would this go on and the she realized that she did not remember what time was. . . Ami Munzo continued to dream and not dream for a very long time. ************************************************************************ Darien was shocked to find Artemis in the condition he was in. The white cat was sleeping(due to the small yet effective medical attention that Luna had given him with what ever scraps of clothing she could find). Darien gently picked up the cat into his arms. "Where can we take him?" he asked Luna. "There is a small animal hospital down the road from here, but we have to hurry." He looked at the cat in his arms sadly and then to Luna:"Ok lets get going then. We don't have much time". Luna noted the urgency in his voice. "Darien," she asked as they walked to the vet. "Is there something you're not telling me?" "I need to find Serina", he said flatly. She lowered her head in mild disgust. "Not to be ungrateful for caring, but it was because of you that she left, and became the mess that she is". They got to the hospital and Darien went to take care of the paper work of getting Artemis into surgery. Luna watched him with a slight guilt in her heart. She saw the sadness in his eyes when she men- tioned Serina leaving, and now wished she hadn't. "Darien," she began as he walked out. "He'll be fine; the doctor said he was amazed that he was still alive, considering how much blood he lost". Luna breathed a silent prayer of thanks to Serenity and looked back up to Darien. Only to find him glaring very angerly down at her. "I'm sorry Darien if I seemed-" "Harsh? Rude? Or just plain stupid?" Luna cocked an ear at that. "Now wait a minute-" He cut her off. "No YOU wait a mintue," he said very low voice. "I've done nothing but listen to you piss and moan at me about how I distracted her. How she needed to concentrate on her studies. How she needed to take care of Sailor Business." Luna grew angry, but said nothing. "Do you have any idea how many times she came to me crying that you were her best friend in the world, and acted like you didn't give a damn about her? About how you always ridiculed her for not being as smart as the other girls? Damn you Luna she didn't leave because I got mad at her once. And you have the nerve to throw stones. . ." Luna was hurt now, but did her best not to show it. "Darien," she began. "I know was a bit rough on her sometimes but. . ." "Look just take me to her alright?" he bit out angrily. "Fine," was all she said. The two walked the rest of the way in silence. . . ************************************************************************ To Be Continued in Chapter 4 infinityrecord@geocities.com CeeJaou812@aol.com C.J. Ambrosia Wow 14k-dosen't seem like much till ya start typing;-) I'll try to get these out as regularly as possible. If anyone knows of any other sites to put these on, please let me know. Two things to mention- 1)I hope no one thinks it's dumb to have an all night animal hospital, but my ex-girlfriend used to work at one in town,so why not? 2)I have to thank Peter David(author of MANY VERY GOOD Star Trek novels) for the inspiration of the section with Ami-If you ever get a chance to read one of his books(I recomend Imzadi and Q-Squared)-DO IT!!!
