Sailor Moon Scouts Honor Chapter 4 "Are you sure this is it?" Luna looked at Darien with rolling eyes. "Oh please, Darien. I HAVE been with her for over a year now". "Watching her," the young man reminded her. "Anyway," he began- "Who's out there?" Darien and Luna looked at each other. "I'd better go first Darien", she began. "But", Darien began to protest. "No buts," Luna commanded. "She hasn't see either one of us in a long time, and I think the shock of seeing you first might be too much for her." Darien opened his mouth to protest but closed it before he said any- thing. He thought for a long moment, finally telling Luna to go ahead. . . **************************************************************************** "Who's out there?" Serina figeted nervously with the baseball bat she had in her hand. Not that it would do any good if who ever it was had a gun, she mused to her- self. She heard a rustling across the floor and put herself into a fighting stance, bat ready to swing. "Serina?", an oddly familiar voice called from the shawdows. "Who's there?" Pause. "A friend." "Friends don't hide from other friends", Serina remarked dryly. "Okay. Just don't pound on me with that thing." "Let me be the judge of that. Now come on out!" Serina watched as a small black cat made it's way slowly into the light of the room. A black cat? She wondered. She looked closer at the cat. It had a gold cresent moon on it's forhead. Luna? But how would Luna find me? She asked herself. Tears began to well in her eyes as she said, "If this is someone's idea of a joke, I'm not laugh- ing", she stammered. The cat answered. "I'm sorry Serina, I never was any good at humor." Serina dropped the bat on the floor and the tears fell. She ran to the cat and scooped it in her arms. hugging it like a lost teddy bear. "Oh Luna, is it really you?", she asked between sobs. Luna was, however, being crushed again by Serina's death grip. Didn't miss this she thought to herself while struggling for air. "Yes. . Serina", she gasped. "If. .you. .wouldn't. .mind. ." Serina saw the cat's bulging eyes and immediatly relesed her hold. Luna landed with a thud on the hard floor. "Didn't miss that either," the cat muttered. "Luna, how did you find me?" Serina stammered, sobs dying down. "Do the others know? What about-" She stopped in mid sentence. It was him. Her reason for living so many years ago, her reason to run later. She felt her heart stop midway into her throat as she called his name. "D-Darien?" "Yes Serina it's me." he answered. The last thing she saw was Darien fading to black as she fell to the ground. . . ************************************************************************** Half a world away, Mina and Lita watched on with concern at Ami's slightly convulsing body. They nervously looked at each other, and then looked away when they saw each others eyes. Mina saw a blue object at the nightstand next to the bed, and upon closer inspection, realized what it was. So did Lita. "Hey, you can't use that!", she hissed to Mina. "I don't think she's in any position to stop me", Mina replied dryly. "Now lets see if I can remember this thing. . ." She opened the case of Ami's pocket computer and pressed a few buttons. The computer chirped to life. "What are you doing anyway?" Lita pressed. Mina didn't look up at her to answer. "I want to see how bad she really is. . .I think there's a sub-something or another in here some-" The computer made a faint alarm sound-one the two scouts were all too used to. "The Negaverse?" they asked in unison. They peered in closer to the smaller srceen. "If I'm reading this right, there is a definite Negaverse presence. . ." her voice grew deadly quiet. Lita picked it up from there. "Draining Ami's energy. But how?" Mina tapped a few more controls and looked at the screen in frustr- ation. "I can't figure it out-this thing doesn't exactly come with a man- ual. In the midst of button pressing, the computer emitted a new alarm, one that the girls didn't recognize. "What the hell. . ." Mina said. "That's a life sign indicator!" exclaimed Lita, noticing some of the readouts on the screen. "But not ours. . ." she trailed off, puzzeled. But Mina grasped it right away. "No, not ours. Ami's. And she's just gone into a coma. . ." *************************************************************************** AMI!!! The voice screamed in his mind. He could see her, but no matter how much he tried, he could not reach her. I have to warn her he thought, reach- ing out as she faded farther and farther away. . . Raye was awoken from her slumber by the sounds of life support mach- ines ringing in her ears. . . *************************************************************************** "Serina" a voice quietly spoke to her. Serina mumbled something incoherent and then turned her head to the voice which called her name. "Come on Jake, just five more-" It wasn't a dream, she realized. She screamed. It took more than a few minutes for Luna to calm her down, but when she did, Serina's fear turned to rage. "What the hell are you doing here?" Darien was taken aback. "Serina, I needed to find you-" "Bullshit." Darien's eyes widened. "What did you say?" "I said bullshit!!!" she screamed at him. "You needed three years to find me? Where the hell were you all this time? You and Raye finally get laid?" "Serina!!!" It was Luna's turn to be shocked now. She expected Serina to be angry, but this was going too far. "Luna, stay out of this." To Darien: "After what you put me through, you expect me come crawling back to you? You srtike me and expect me to just forgive and forget?" Darien held his gaze to floor, a tear welling in his eye. "I'm . . . sorry Serina. I didn't mean to hurt you like that. It's just-" "I don't care anymore Darien-I'm over you and that's all that matters right now. So get your self-centered-" "Ami's dying Serina." This brought shocked looks from both Serina and Luna. "What did you say?" she asked. "Ami's dying. Greg called the girls and they're in Germany now to see what they can do." Serina wasn't buying it. She looked to Luna who did a cats version of a shrug; she was as much in the dark as Serina was. "Why should I believe you?" she asked him. "I don't know Serina. Look if you don't want to come with me because of what happened with us, that's fine. But please Serina. Ami needs you- you're the only one who can save her." He reached into his pocket and pulled out her crystal locket. "Please Serina," he pleaded, holding the locket twoards her. Serina reached for the locket and in doing so, touched Darien's out- streched hand. For a brief instant he saw the love that survived a thousand years in her eyes. A love that withstanded the true test of time and war. But only for an instant, and it was gone. Serina's face returned to the mask of hidden rage she wore when she thought of him. "All right," she finally said. "I'll go. For Ami." Darien breathed a small sigh of relief at her words, but his relief was short lived. "After that," Serina continued, "I don't ever want to see you again." ************************************************************************** Jake looked around descreetly at his surroundings. His eyes darted at the emptyness of the alley he was in, being careful not to make any move- ments which may draw attention to him. When he was satisfied he was alone, he took out a small white gleaming orb and began to chant to it. A bright white light began to shimmer and then totaly evelop him until he vanished... ************************************************************************** Raye was, for lack of a better term, "wearing out the carpet". She paced back and forth outside the room Greg was in, waiting for any kind of sign from the doctors; so far none had been forthcoming. She was about to charge the doors when her communicator beeped. She hurredly walked to a pay phone at the end of the corridor, and picked up the handset, while discr- eetly answering her beeping message. "What's up guys?" she asked. Lita answered. "Ami's just gone into a come Raye," she said nerv- ously. Raye blanched and then collected herself. "How much longer?" "Mina's not sure, but she thinks it could be a matter of hours." "Greg just went into some kind of seisure; the doctors are working on him now." "Raye, Mina has an idea, but we need you here to try it." "What are you gonna try?" Lita looked away from the screen for moment, and then returned. "She said she'll explain when you get her, but you have to hurry." Raye looked down the hall to Greg's closed door. "What about Greg?", she asked. "Raye, I'm sorry, but have to try to save Ami first." A pause. "She went into a coma about an hour ago, and this may be our only chance." Looking skyward, Raye was lost in thought for a moment. Lita's right, she said to herself. If this is the only chance. . . "Okay," she replied finally. "I'm on my way." She shut off her comm- unicator before Lita had a chance to reply. Saying a silent prayer for Greg and Ami, she strode quickly for the elevator. As she stepped in and the doors closed around her, a bright white light began to fill the room. . . *************************************************************************** To Be Continued in Chapter 5 infinityrecord@geocities.com CeeJaou812@aol.com C.J.
