Not really...just short chapters! ^_^;; Just saw Sailormoon R: Promise of the Rose, and it's awesome!! I wanted to see the DVD or even the subbed video, but I saw the dubbed version instead. It was still pretty cool though, and it was really sweet and cute! New site for me! http://geocities.com/erika515 Please go and contribute to it! Thank you! Disclaimer: Yata yata blah blah blah yata yata Sailormoon and the song "Breathe" sung by Faith Hill and written by who-knows-who don't belong to me. Nope nope. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The music quietly fainted away, and once again, our lovely couple were completely lost in each other's eyes. Darien saw in front of him the clearest eyes he's ever seen. It was like gazing into a crystal azure lake, just when the sun's rays glinted off the glassy surface. He could see the sun in her eyes, and feel the warmth glowing from within her. *I can't believe I hadn't noticed it before...* Serena was drowning in Darien's stormy, blue eyes. Blue as midnight, shimmering like the stars. Her breathing turned to short gasps of air as his face neared hers, lips slightly parted, eyes partially closed... "Alright ladies and gentlemen!" a voice boomed through the dancefloor, snapping Serena and Darien out of paradise. (AN: *laughs evilly* don't hate me, kill Roni-chan, she gave me some of the ideas!) A senior, the president of the dance committee, Rika Masaki stood up at the stage, confidently looking down on the young couples. "It's time to see who's gonna be our lucky couple this year!" a loud applause and whistles rang out from the audience. "All this week, we sent out polls to each of your classes, and every one of you guys and girls out there picked out the princess and prince of your choice. Although it wasn't -meant- to be, I suppose it turned into a popularity contest." she said almost bittersweetly, but kept the joyous tone in her voice. "Now for the moment of truth...." drumrolls sounded, filling the whole room with anticipation. "Let's see who our prince is this year!" she slowly opened the envelope as the whole student body waited impatiently. "Well...no surprise here. Girls, you chose Mr. Mystery Man himself. Tall, dark, handsome, highly intelligent, shy....what more can a girl ask for, right?" Rika's eyes twinkled mischievously under the spotlight; screams rose from the crowd. "Well, the girls are sure to love this one...Come on up here, Darien Chiba!!" The girls pratically went crazy; Darien groaned and raked a hand through his hair *Why did I ever bother to come?* He looked over at Serena, who was grinning proudly, and he received his answer. "Go on up there, sweetie! The crowd so wants you!" she shoved him towards the stage. He climbed the stairs, and ran his hand through his hair once more, making his uneven cut fall over his eyes, and smiled a lop-sided smile. Every girl practically melted right on the spot. Rika fanned herself as if to say "hot!" and giggles filled the room. Somebody put the crown on his head, which was on crooked, making him look incredibly adorable and swoons escaped from the crowd of raging hormones (An: Just imagine that girls, our dear prince, with hair over his eyes, a crooked smile, and a lop-sided crown....^_~) Serena was tempted to yell out: "That's my guy up there!" but decided against it. The same person who had put the crown on him gave Darien a bouquet of scarlet, ivory, and sheer pink roses, obviously to be given to the princess. "Now...shall we see who the the -lucky- princess is? And I do mean lucky...for Pete's sake, she gets to dance with this guy!" Rika asked and waved the envelope up in the air. Cheers answered her and she proceeded to open the package...very slowly... "C'mon!" somebody from behind Serena yelled out. *Please...please let it be me...* she wished silently as Rika tore the flap open. *Please let me be his princess...* Rika looked down on the audience. She saw the wistful look on Serena's face and recognized her as Darien's date. She recalled seeing them dancing earlier and had remarked to one of her friends how perfect they looked. She looked down at the card in her hand, and for a split second her face fell, but she forced a smile as she said the name. "Everybody, Julia Hikono is our princess this year!" she said, the unenthusiasm showing through her facade. A shrill scream came from the middle of the room as everybody looked over. An excited, unnatural blond screamed again as she pushed herself through the crowd and up the stage. She vehemently grabbed her crown from Rika, placed it on her piled hair, and snatched the flowers from Darien's arms. Serena looked as if she was going to faint, and Darien had noticed and was frantically trying to think up of a plan. Lita, Amy, Raye, and Chad circled around her, ready to comfort when needed. "Let's give a hand to the Match Made in Heaven of 2000!" Rika yelled and the audience applauded like robots and started to break into couples once again. "Wait!" Darien cried out, stopping all motion. He asked for the microphone, and Rika handed it over. "There's only one princess for me, and it's certainly not her." he pointed at the girl beside him with the low-cut dress. She made a face, and opened her mouth in argument, but he cut her off again. "I came here with one girl, and one girl only." he stared down at Serena. "She's the best person I have ever met in my entire being. She's absolutely breathtaking and I can't believe I even made fun of her before. She's got the purest heart in the world and would give almost anything for her loved ones. She has a love for everyone and everything, even if just a little." he gave a short chuckle and continued, "Well, except for me. In fact, I think she hated me until tonight; at least I hope she doesn't hate me anymore, because I'd give anything and everything just to see her smile." "I have never felt this way about anyone before, and I just want her to know that she is and will always be my princess, whether she likes it or not." he grinned and turned back to Julia, "Sorry." The crowd was completely silent. Rika stared on with tears in her eyes. Serena could hardly believe her ears. Then she started laughing and tears fell over her cheeks. Darien took the crown off and handed it to Rika, who absent-mindedly took it. He pulled out a crimson rose from the bouquet in Julia's arms and jumped down the stage and caught Serena up in an embrace. He then gently sweeped the flower across her cheek and gave it to her and whispered, "Let's get out of here." and led her out by her waist. From the stage, Rika started clapping, and the audience soon joined in. Serena smiled up at Darien and he on her. They continued to clap until the couple had reached the double doors at the entrance. Out of the blue, and breaking the romantic trance everyone was in, Julia screamed, "What about me?!?!" Serena and Darien looked back, and Serena did what she wanted to do ever since she found out about her and Josh, who hadn't even come to the dance. She made a face and stuck her tongue out at her, and all the students broke into a fit of laughter. She grabbed hold of Darien's hand, and they ran out of the gym and into the cool air of the night. They walked out into the school's courtyard. There was a slight breeze and Serena shivered. Darien took off his jacket and placed it around her shoulders. The air smelled sweet and the breeze carried a fragrance. Serena put the rose up to her face and touched it slightly to her lips. "You know Darien...you're really sweet." "Really? I thought I was just the self-centered, mindless jerk, also known as Darien." She blushed and giggled slightly, "That was before I really knew you. And, Darien, I don't hate you at all. I never really did; sure, I disliked you A LOT, but I never did once hate you..." "That's good because I meant everything I said earlier." They stopped and gazed intently at each other's eyes. "Really?" she asked. "Very truly, really." he had his arms around her now and was pulling her closer to him. Once more, their eyelids drifted closed and their lips inching closer... "Shhh! Raye! They'll hear you!" "Me? You're the one yelling!" "Oww! Get off my foot, Lita!" "Guys...we shouldn't be doing this..." "Oh come off it, Amy. You know you wanna see 'em make out!" "Uh..well..." "Ahh! My leg! Get off my leg!!!!" "SHHH!!" Lita grabbed hold of Molly's mouth and held it there. With an exasperated sigh, Serena let her head fall onto Darien's chest and said, "C'mon out guys, I heard you all loud and clear." The bushes beside them were absolutely quiet and still. "Guys, I know you're there." One by one, familiar heads popped up from the foliage with sheepish looks on their faces. "Just for the record, it was Amy's idea." Lita accused and pointed to the blue-haired girl standing beside her. "Me?! You're the one who told us to go hide behind the bushes!" Amy yelled back. They continued to bicker- "ARGGH!!! Stop!" Serena screeched, "For the past couple of days now, everytime me and Darien are about to kiss, something comes up!! Man!! All I want are my kisses!! Is that so much to ask for?! Now- Mmmmm..." Swept up by a sweet kiss, Serena ceased her whining and put her arms around her prince. It was nothing like anything Serena has ever felt before. Remarkably, Darien's kisses were like chocolate: sweet. And roses, his lips were as soft as the petals of the flower she still held in one hand. Chills ran up and down her spine and left her body numb. The same shock she had felt before on that blessed day under the cherry tree, she felt once more, only it was twice as strong. She felt warm and safe and content in his arms and hoped to never have him let go. And their hearts. Again, she felt the rhythm beating at the same pace... The girls beside them swooned as they saw the couple before them. "Where's the popcorn when you need it?" Raye asked dreamily. "Where's the -camera- when you need it?" "...You guys think they should come up for air now? I mean, it's been a couple of minutes now and the average human can only-" "Amy, shut up." "Er..." "Don't be so mean, Lita!" "She's got a point...Meatball Head could barely stay underwater for a minute, much less kiss for that long." Serena started laughing and smiled into Darien's kiss, and said, "Ya know...I could hear everything you say..." and she pressed her lips against Darien's one more time... ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 3/6/00 Chapter 8 Wow! I got it done! Don't worry, the story isn't over yet! I plan to write an epilogue, so watch out for that! :) Oh yeah...just for the record, how old do you guys think I am? I'm just wondering 'coz people seem surprised when I tell them. ^_^ Luv ya! Erika PS - Roni-chan's e-mail is PinaiPrinc3ss218@aol.com so if you have any fights to pick, pick it with her 'coz she told me some of the ways Darien and Serena would be interrupted from kissing ^_~ I'd still love to hear some feedback! (Oh and, if you like romance and dolphins and a lil bit of fantasy, I *really* recommend the book called An Ring of Endless of Light...it'll make you cry! I just finished it and I thought it was just soooo sweet! It's by Madeline L'Engle...there's another book by her that you should read also, it's called An Acceptable Time and it was terrif! Really cool! I like that kid of stuff...it's scientific and romantic and fantasy-ish all at the same time!, ya know? L'Engle wrote A Wrinkle in Time, too, so if you liked that book, read these!)
