Title: Soulmate Express Part: Two Author: Aquamarine Angel Edited By: Crescent Moon Email: aquamarineangel@sailormoon.com Homepage: http://www.geocities.com/universe_guardians Hola! Okay, so it's not Polish... Anywho, I want to dedicate this part to Crescent Moon. She got me into Sailor Moon and the wonderful world of Sailor Moon. She's even kind enough to take care of my spelling mistakes... =================================================================== ---------------Soulmate Express by Aquamarine Angel---------------- =================================================================== ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Part Two ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *Jadeite! what is he doing in the U.S.? Better yet, what is he doing alive? Is he still working for the Negaverse?* Usagi was shocked beyond belief. Here she was, in the Big Apple, ready to start a new life, and who has to show up? The man who pointed her life into the direction of chaos and misery to begin with! Usagi was fuming inside. She wanted to lash out at him with all her power, but the blank expression on his face prevented her from doing so. His expression was that of a normal, prankster, teenager. The Jadeite that work for Queen Beryl has a smug, evil look. The boy before her was simply sizing her up. *I wonder if I'm passing the test....* Usagi was sizing Jason up in return. Though it wasn't his looks that she was studying... *I cannot sense any negative energy... I suppose Jason is just a Jadeite look-a-like. It is said that everyone on Earth has a clone, of a sort. Perhaps the boy before me is Jadeite's clone. Now what is the name this boy goes by? Jeff? John? Oh, yeah! Jason!* "I'm very pleased to meet you, Jason," Usagi said, politely. She was still very suspicious of Jason despite her certainty that Jason was not Jadeite and he had no evil intentions brought on by the negaverse. As she greeted him, she couldn't hide the warning in her eyes. *Just one wrong move... I'll be watching you closely...* "The pleasure is all mine," was his reply. He was also hiding behind polite words. He had seen a challenge in the eyes of the foreign student. And he wasn't one to turn down a challenge. When he greeted Usagi in return, what he really meant to say was: "You won't know what hit you." Mr. and Mrs. Lockhart were beaming at their exchange of words. They were thrilled that Usagi was so polite and that Jason was actually being nice in return. They had never heard him use manners before! If they had been aware of what was really going on, they would have been a bit disturbed... "Well, now that we've introduced ourselves, it's time we hit the road. Let's go home!" Mr. Lockhart said. He then turned and headed for the exit. Usagi wasn't completely sure what he'd said, but she knew got the drift of it. *I'm going to have to study really hard for the next few weeks, if I want to understand anything at school...* When they group of four reached the parking lot, and found the car, Usagi was astonished. The Lockharts must be rich! They were actually riding the latest model of Ford convertibles! That was a reeeally expensive car! Usagi was trying really hard not to gap at the luxury car. *I'll never be able to own a car like this! What do Mr. and Mrs. Lockhart do for a living!? I want their jobs!* The elder Lockharts climbed into the front seat while Jadeite opened the door for Usagi. "After you, m'lady," he said with a bow. Usagi couldn't help but let out a slight giggle at Jason's stupidity. Not even Mamoru would do something as corny as that! Jason liked her laugh. It was so gentle... So innocent... All of a sudden he didn't want to do anything to harm her. He wanted to protect her. At that moment he decided that that's what he would do. Protect her. He would help her fit in at school. He would introduce her to his friends. He would let her in on his jokes... Usagi, meanwhile, was completely clueless as to what was going on in Jason's head. She was concentrating on the building that were flying by and trying to ignore the feeling of helplessness that came hand in hand with living in a friendless world. Her life had been turned upside down and inside out virtually overnight. Now she was regretting her rash actions but her pride was preventing her from admitting that she was wrong. Pride. The damnation of mankind. It was a real killer. She sighed. *There really is no going back. Just think of what everyone would think of you if you turned back now, before the adventure had even started. Rei would laugh at you. Mamoru would add the incident to the list of my failures. It would be yet another reason not to date me,* Usagi told herself. After about ten minutes or so, they arrived at the house. Again, Usagi found herself completely astonished. It was a house! It wasn't another giant apartment building. It was a large house with a fair sized yard and a whit picket fence. A basketball hoop was hanging on the garage and a pretty little garden was planted along the side of the home. *Wow! This is like my dream home, except I don't play basketball.* "We're in the suburbs," Jason murmured. Usagi looked at him, surprised. She had forgotten all about him. "Come on. I'll help you gather you bags and then I'll show you your new room." *Either he's up to something or he is an incredibly nice guy...* A few moments later, Jason was guiding Usagi into the house and down a hall. At the end of the hall, he pushed a door open and the most perfect room she had ever seen. It'd decor was mostly porcelain white and pale pink. There was a small nightstand on each side of the full sized bed which had a canopy and curtains. The dresser was placed on the right of the room, next to the door to the closet. The carpet was very plush and elegant. The gorgeous mural of the solar system is what caught her eye the longest, however. The mural was located on the wall opposite the door. It surrounded the window in a dazzling display. The planets were not draw in proportion or even in order. The were simply there. The colors were magnificent and the planets looked as if they were moving. The overall impression created by the mural was one of complete awe and amazement. It was hard to believe that anyone could paint that well. "Who painted that?" Usagi asked softly. If she had managed to peel her eyes away from the breath-taking display at that moment, she would have seen Jason's cheeks turn deep scarlet. "Ah... Er... I'm not completely sure. It's always been there," Jason replied. He was lying through his teeth but Usagi was to caught up in admiring the masterpiece to notice. "Well, that mural is perfect. The artist must be very famous by now." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ END OF PART TWO ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Part three is on the way!
