"Where am I, and why does my head feel like someone is sitting on it?" She moaned in pained confusion. She was lying in a hospital bed and her body ache all over. She felt disoriented, lost, and she was very, very confused. "So, you're awake, you've been asleep for nearly three days now." Said a nurse, who has been marking a chart at the foot of her bed. "I'll go and get the doctor now." She said, as she turned and left. "My God, I've been asleep for three days?! That can't be good." She grumbled. "Serena, how are you feeling?" came a voice from the door. Looking up at the sound of his voice, she saw a doctor walking into the room. A very hansom looking young man followed him. After giving the man a small smile, she looked back at the doctor in confusion. "Serena? Is that my name?" she asked, looking at the physician expectantly. "I was afraid this might happen. Yes, your name is Serena, and you were hit by a car. You've been unconscious for nearly three days, and now it appears you have amnesia." He stated. The doctor then proceeded to explain to both Serena and the young man about amnesia. He said that Serena had lost her memory. Over time she should begin to remember bits and pieces, until she got enough back to break through the 'wall' blocking everything. Once she was able to fit enough pieces together all of her memories would come flooding back. "Well, I will leave the two of you alone for a while. Perhaps you could start working on remembering?!" the doctor said with a smile to both of them before he left the room. "So Serena, how are you feeling?" the young man asked. "Let me see! I ache all over, I've been unconscious for three days, I have no clue who I am or how I got here, and to top it all off, I feel like I haven't eaten in weeks!" She exclaimed. Then, seeing a touch of hurt enter the man's eyes, she apologized. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to take my frustrations out on you. Its just that..." she trailed off and began to cry. "Serena, please don't cry. I know, would you like something to eat? I'll go down to the cafeteria and get you something, okay?" he paused. When she nodded her head, he continued, "Alright then, and I'll be sure to bring you a slice of chocolate cake!" He smiled brightly at her and left. A short time later, four girls, about her age walked through the door. The first girl had long blond hair tied back with an orange/gold bow. The second girl was extremely tall and wore her brown hair in a ponytail. A girl with short, blue/black hair followed her. These three were wearing sailor looking school uniforms; the tall girl's uniform was tan, instead of blue like the other two. The last girl had long black hair, but her uniform was gray, indicating that she went to a different school than the others. "Hey Serena, how ya feelin'?" the girl with the ponytail asked. "How do you think Lita?!" She was hit by a car!" the black haired girl snapped. "Ah, lay off her Raye, she was just being polite." The blond said good-naturedly. "Mina's right Raye. Besides, Serena's doctor did say she has amnesia, and that we should treat her as normal as possible." The shorthaired girl stated quietly. "Amy's right," the girl called Lita said, "Anyway, Mina, let Luna out why don't ya?" "Here Serena, I brought you all of your homework. You should try to stay as caught up as possible, until you can come back to school." The quiet girl Amy said as she handed Serena a stack of textbooks. "Gee thanks, ah, Amy. I can't wait to start it." She replied sarcastically. The four girls all burst out laughing. "Some things never change!" Mina giggled. "Do you remember who brought you in after you were hit?" Raye asked Serena. "Was it any one I am supposed to know?" she asked. "YES!" Raye nearly yelled. "It was your boyfriend! He was here earlier." Raye explained in agitation. "Poor D..." she said as she turned around and rolled her eyes. That must have been the cute guy that was with the doctor, Serena thought. I can't wait until he gets back! Out of Mina's bag came a little black cat with a crescent moon on her forehead. It jumped up on the foot of the bed and looked at Serena. "Hey, what a pretty black kitty! What's its name, and who does it belong to?" Serena said and reached out to pet the cat now sitting on her lap. "My name is Luna and I 'belong' to you, Moon Brain!" the cat replied indignantly. "Wha, what?" Serena stared at the cat. I must have hit my head harder than any one thought. "Ah, I'm kinda tired now. Do you guys think you could come back tomorrow? I'd like to get some sleep now." "Now that's the Serena we all know and love!" Lita laughed. They all said their good-byes and quickly left, Mina taking Luna with her. A few minutes later, the young man returned with a tray full of food. Serena was deep in thought. Now what did that Raye girl say my boyfriend's name was? All I heard was it started with a D. A lot of good that does me! Oh well, I guess I'll just have to ask him, I hope he doesn't get offended. "Here you are Serena. I brought you some curry chicken, some steamed rice and, of course, a large slice of chocolate cake." "Oh good, your back!" she smiled up at him as he laid the tray on her lap. "I'm hungry, and..." she trailed off. "Yes?" he prompted. "I missed you while you were gone." She said quietly as she began to blush. "You...You did?" he stammered. He couldn't speak, he could hardly even think. She had missed him and he hadn't been gone more than 20 minutes. "I hate to sound stupid, but, what is your name?" Serena asked sheepishly. "You don't sound stupid. My name is Christafer Diamond, most people call me Chris." He thought for a moment before continuing. For some reason it was important that she call him by his last name. And although it sounded strange, it felt right to be called Diamond, at least by Serena. "But you can call me Diamond." Diamond?! That starts with a D, yes! "Diamond. All right, Diamond... it... is..." She trailed off once more. She was staring out the door where a tall, dark haired man stood down the hall. In his arms he held a dozen red roses, and he was talking with a nurse. Diamond ran a hand through his shaggy white hair as he saw what, or rather who, she was looking at. "Ah, I've got to be getting back to work now but I promise I will be back tomorrow. Until then Princess." With that he walked over, kissed her on the cheek and left the room. Serena sat there, a large smile lighting up her face, when the dark haired man walked in. "Hey there my Meatball Head!" he said cheerfully, then kissed her on the lips. "Wha... what do you think you are doing?" she demanded, after having broken off the kiss. "And who are you?" She looked up at him in both confusion and pain. The dull ache in her head was now beginning to pound. "My sweet Serena, it's me, Darien! I know you have amnesia, the nurse told me. I am so happy you're finally awake. You had me and every one else really worried about you. Now, the nurse said that we should treat you as normal as possible and that my dear, is why I kissed you." Darien explained. Raye said my boyfriend's name, but I only heard the D. Serena looked over at Darien. The other guy's name is Diamond, she contemplated. Both of their names start with D. Ah, I'm so lost, she thought helplessly. "Here you are my Princess, your favorite!" Darien handed her the dozen red roses. For a moment, she just sat there, staring at the flowers. They smelled so sweet but... Her head was pounding so badly that she found it hard to concentrate. "Thanks," she said, placing the roses on the table next to her bed. "Look, I don't feel all that great right now. I think I'm going to try and get some sleep now, okay?" She looked at him with pain filled, pleading eyes. She wanted to sleep, to escape the pounding in her head, but she didn't know if she wanted him to leave. "That's fine, I'll just watch over you until you fall asleep then." He said happily. Serena continued to stare at the tall, dark haired Darien for a moment, glad that he wasn't leaving but also confused by his decision. Shaking her head slightly, then wincing in pain for doing so, she turned onto her side and fell asleep. @->----- Questions, comments, ideas, email them to me, I love hearing form you! Thanks ;P
