BUT the concept of the plot: Crystal Sailor Senshi, Naitsuki, Apollo, plot/storyline were created by US. If you want to use any of these characters, then E-MAIL us FIRST at asmrincorporations@hotmail.com ASKING us whether or not you can use them. Thank you. ^.^ (Besides, it took a while to get all the profiles made out for each of the Crystal Sailor Senshi, Chaos' Dark Senshi, the two new guardian cats, so we don't want to see our hard work taken and used without our consent) Other Notes: This chapter is what I would say...long...and it was only three people working on it. This is only the first chapter, yet, and most likely the following chapters will not be as long as this one. But I hope you all still enjoy it. We went over it with spell and grammat check and believe we got most mistakes taken care of...at least we hope we did -.-;;; I would also like to thank Rhapha-chan for being kind enough as to provide the Japanese translation for the title. You don't know how much we appreciate it, Rhapha-chan *hugs* Arigato! --- **Unmei no Te ni Motsu Mirai - Chaper One** Neo Princess Serenity looked out the window of the palace before she turned to the Senshi gathered behind her. The scent of death and destruc- tion still hung in the air and she shivered inwardly, trying to clear out the thoughts of what had happened just days before. She placed a hand on her enlarging womb, wondering how it was possible her unborn child had not been lost in all the chaos from before. But then she remembered how her mother had given up her life to save those who had not yet been destroyed by Kuragari. She started when a pair of hands clasped her shoulders firmly, and she turned around to see Elios. "Serenity..." Elios said sternly, his eyes sparking with concern. "You shouldn't be exerting yourself...not after all that has happened." he scolded and Serenity gave a bitter laugh. "How can you say that, Elios?" she asked quietly. "Because of me... because of me, Mama and Papa were destroyed, along with the Sailor Star Senshi...my friends' mothers." "You mustn't blame yourself for that happening!" Elios said sharply. "It's not your fault Sailor Hoshikuzu let Chaos take over her!" Serenity could hear a deep intake of breath from the gathered Crystal Sailor Senshi, but she ignored them, eyes tearing up as she looked straight into Elios' eyes. "You may say that." she whispered. "Demo..." As Neo Princess Serenity broke down crying, held tightly in Elios' arms, the Crystal Sailor Senshi left the throneroom and went their respective ways. Each one of them had to think, and try to get over the pain each one of them was feeling. *** Crystal Sailor Neptune stepped out into the now destroyed Royal Gardens. She stared at each wilted rose, picking one up in her hand, squeezing it in her hands, and then letting the dried petals drift off into the wind. She followed the breeze, watching as the petals were taken out of the gardens, away... Away from the destruction and despair. Having been born from Michiru, Crystal Sailor Neptune was one to rarely ever show her emotions where everyone could see, but now, little by little, she was crumbling. She felt lost, and didn't know where she truly belonged. With her partner, Crystal Sailor Uranus, yes. But with the slowly emerging feelings of love for Sailor Star Uranus' daughter, Saikou, she wanted to run away in fear everytime she got near the other. She didn't want to think of what Saikou would do if she found out her true feelings. Feel disgusted? Crystal Neptune wouldn't doubt it and as she sat down on one of the shattered tree trunks, she let her transformation reverse. Suteki raised her eyes to the darkened sky. It had yet to clear, and reveal the bright blue it had once been. Her eyes lowered once more, and she stood up, brushing her aqua dress deftly, before she walked out of the gardens. And out into what used to be Crystal Tokyo. Shattered crystals surrounded her...crystals that had once been buildings. But no more... Then she came to the spot where Sailor Star Neptune had died, safe in Sailor Star Uranus' arms. Her resolve breaking, Suteki collapsed next to a half intact crystal wall, ignoring the few survivors who were wandering around, trying to find their own family members. Burying her head in her knees, Suteki let loose the tears. *** Crystal Sailor Uranus sighed softly to herself. She had followed her sister to the painful spot, always staying a careful few steps behind her. The skill of silence-Sailor Star Saturn had taught her that. Before the beautiful Angel of Death was killed that is... "Suteki?" She whispered before taking a step towards the fallen girl. Memories rippled through her, almost reducing her to the same pain her sister was facing. Her mother? Her hands, grabbing her collar and pulling her close. She could feel the shallow breath on her face. Telling her?begging her to protect her sister?for Mama?Arms slipped around her lover, not her daughter. Pain...heartache. Tears threatened pricked her eyes. Why weren't those arms for her? Uranus bowed her head in shame, feeling the henshin melt around her lean body. Saikou looked up, the tears gone and her face emotionless. "Suteki.." Saikou whispered softly to her sister, pulling the smaller woman into her arms and holding her, rocking her back and forth. She cooed softly, stroking her back in hopes of comforting her. Suteki froze, feeling the arms go around her. *No...no...* she thought frantically, feeling the ever appearing feelings coming on, stronger than ever. She choked back tears, trying to control her shaking. She lifted her head and wiped the tears away quickly. She loosened herself from Saikou's grasp, her head spinning. "S-Sai-chan...I didn't hear you coming..." she whispered, knowing that Saikou could tell she was lying. Funny how Saikou always knew... She looked at Saikou, her eyes misting over once more. With a choked back sob, and shaking her head wildly, she dashed away from Saikou in fear, hurting inside. She stopped when she had reached the room she and Saikou shared. Her eyes fell on the cased instrument, and she stepped cautiously over to it, unlatching the case, she beheld the violin. Within seconds, she had it in her gentle grasp, and was playing it softly. Playing a haunting tune of loneliness and heartbreak. She knew she loved Saikou, but knew the other thought of her as a sister... What was she to do? She let all thoughts escape her, as she fell into her own world...into the world her music painted for her. *** Areiko sat by the ruins of the crystal fountain staring longingly towards the grove she had just placed her mothers body. Her stomach twisted into a knot as she realized her mother was gone for good. Memories of all the times they spent together repeated themselves in her head. Over and over like a movie with no sound. A bitter taste filled Areiko's mouth and fire burned within her body. Her pendant flashed red with hatred. Hatred for the enemy. Hatred for the life she had to live. The hatred in her pendant filled her entire body. She was ready for the enemy now. Ready to hate them, ready to kill them, ready to avenge her mother's death. Footsteps echoed through the empty gardens and Areiko clutched her henshin stick protectively. Listening carefully she raised her stick and whispered her henshin phrase. "Crystal Mars Power Make-Up!" Fire surrounded her body and her pendant glowed even brighter with the power of Mars. Spreading her silver wings, Areiko rose silently into the air and perched herself onto the arch that opened into the palace gardens. She tensed her muscles tighter and waited for the intruder. The footsteps became louder and louder until the new comer was just below Areiko. She folded her wings into her back and jumped backwards off the wall. Leaving her standing face to face with her intruder. Sighing in relief Areiko turned her back to the black cat and sat by the fountain once again staring at the grove. "Arei-chan, you're upset, what's the matter?" Areiko turned to Apollo and shook her head. "Apollo-san I'm frightened. You know all this death and destruction is because of the new enemy. They are powerful and I'm feeling great hatred towards them for killing mama. I'm frightened that my hatred will make me blind in my battles. I can't control this fire that's burning within my body." Apollo's jade eyes clashed with Areiko's violet pleading eyes. Swiftly leaping onto the crumbled fountain edge he thoughtfully licked his golden paws. "Arei- chan your passion for your mother will eventually be your downfall. You must put her death behind you, I know that it is painful and I know the hatred you feel but you must push it away, you need to be strong for the other senshi. I know your strength, your inner strength will be the anchor for the other Crystal Senshi and eventually it must be you that brings the Inner and Outer Senshi together. Please Arei-chan don't let your hatred blind you. I know it's hard but you must realize that this is a way of life. This death this destruction it's all?" Areiko scrunched her eyes shut trying to push the tears away. "JUST STOP! STOP WOULD YOU STOP!" She was panting loudly and a single tear trickled down her cheek. "How would you know? This pain that I'm feeling is unbearable. How would you know what I'm feeling right now. How would the other senshi know? You want me to put it all behind me?and just battle on? You want me to bring the Outers closer? The Outers?who despise us, who wouldn't even give a damn if it were my dead body in that grove over there. The Outers don't deserve us. They couldn't?they couldn't even?" Areiko collapsed to the ground in tears letting all her emotions pour out of her soul. Apollo jumped down and rubbed his head against Areiko's. "You know Arei-chan you're not the only one who has lost her parents. All of the Crystal Senshi have felt your loss. And I do understand your pain? I went through it all when Hoshikuzu? You must be strong Arei-chan. Know that I believe in you I know that you can be their anchor." With that said Apollo padded out of the clearing leaving Areiko to her tears. Wave after wave of thoughts flooded her mind and she finally realized her position in the Crystal Senshi. Standing proudly she wiped the tears away and walked with confidence to find her companions. *** Neikara crouched down beside a small mound in the ground. Placing a small bunch of Lilies onto the mound she sighed longingly. "May you rest in peace Aino Minako, mother." Turning her head away from the small grave she sobbed loudly and collapsed to her side. "Why did you have to protect me mother? I'm fourteen for god's sake. I could have done it on my own. Mama I love you. You said we'd be together forever. You told me you'd? MAMA!" Neikara rolled herself into a ball and cried in pain. It was some time before she was silent and the tears had dried up. Standing up slowly she brushed off her legs and shivered as a cold burst of wind brushed against her bare arms. Neikara paced about the small private garden with a reserved strength flashing in her eyes. She had to be strong and she knew it. She had to take the reins from Chibi-Usa, her Princess. It was up to her to gather together the remaining survivors. If the enemy attacked this hard then they were strong, and they would be back. Neikara knew that it was her responsibility to be the leader now. She had to put the pain behind her and be the leader. That was why she was pointed second in command. She could hide her pain well and she was constantly happy. On the outside. Bitterness filled her heart and she stood up with a sardonic smile on her face. "Crystal Venus Power Make-Up!" The energy filled her body and she began her search for survivors, beginning in the ruins of the fountain. *** Saikou sighed softly as she stood up. She brushed the dirt off her jeans, straightened her shirt, and began to walk home. Thoughts of Suteki slipped into her head. The scent of her sister's shampoo lingered on her clothes, the feel of her small shoulders shaking in her strong arms stayed with her. Saikou shook her head violently. Why were these thoughts haunting her? She was her sister for Kami's sake! Soon Saikou found herself at the door of her home. Tears welled up before the girl could stop them; she hadn't been at the house since her family died. Mama, Michiru, Setsuna, Hotaru?all were dead. A piece of her heart had died gone with them. Sai reached for the polished doorknob and slowly opened the door. Haruka's coat was still hanging on the coat rack in the hall. Saikou reached out and pulled it off the rack. She brought it to her face ...the smell of peppermint and her mother's cologne filled her senses. Slipping it on, Saikou buttoned the coat. It hung off her a bit, not having the broad shoulders its original owner had to hold it up. Saikou grinned slightly at a memory. She was four years old, short and with long golden curls framing her face. She was giggling. Haruka smiled-loving and warm-as she pulled her coat over her daughter's head. Chibi Saikou-chan laughed and flapped her arms, pretending they were wings. Haruka scooped Saikou up in her arms and held her to her chest. ..It was before her mother went back to fighting, before Haruka began pulling away, little by little. At first, Saikou blamed it solely on Michiru. She knew Haruka loved Michiru in a way she'd never love her and was jealous. Now?now what? Saikou walked into the kitchen. A cup laid over on it's side from where Suteki had dropped it in surprise when the enemy suddenly appeared. Not thinking, she uprighted it, crossed her arms, and leaned against the counter, resting her head on the side of the refrigerator. She sighed. I want to disappear, she thought. I wish I could just disappear. *** A wave of dread filled her senses, pulling her away from her playing in mid note. She set the violin down gently, leaving the room, her footsteps light. She passed the kitchen Saikou was in, and out the door. Her hand reached out into seemingly thin air, when her henshin stick appeared. Clutching it tightly, she shouted out her transformation. "Crystal Neptune Power, Make Up!" she yelled, letting the familiar sequence take place. Her mirror disappeared as she started running towards where the feeling was coming from.... *** Naitsuki was staring calmly at the surrounding shattered crystal buildings, when she heard the approaching footsteps. Her eyes narrowed when she recognized them to belong to the petite Crystal Sailor Neptune. Snapping her fingers once, Naitsuki's body overcame a change to decieve the Crystal Senshi. Her figure became more that of a ten year old, and her hair shorten- ed and rearranged itself so that it looked as if her hair had always been a dark midnight blue, tied in a braid. Her ice blue eyes resumed the look of pale yellow, and became widening with fear when Crystal Sailor Neptune stopped in front of her, raising her hand. "Nani!?" Neptune shouted, putting her hand down, and staring confusedly at the shaking child right before her. *I could've sworn that I sensed dark energy radiating from this area...* she thought, her brows furrowed as she kneeled so she was Naitsuki's height. "What's your name?" she asked softly and Naitsuki looked at her with fear filled eyes, mentally thinking of a suiting name. "M-Muboubi...my name is Muboubi." she replied silently, and then peered at Neptune. "You're one of those Crystal Sailor Senshi...ne?" she asked. "Hai...I'm Crystal Sailor Neptune...what happened to your family, little one?" "I can't find my mama and papa, Neptune-sama." Neptune embraced the child gently, lifting and holding her in her arms gently. "Then I think we should go see if we can find your parents." she said descively, then started towards the palace with graceful, careful steps. Inwardly "Muboubi" laughed at how gullible the Crystal Senshi of Neptune seemed to be. Yes, from then on she would be known as Muboubi. But... but when her mistress, Sailor Kuragari returned, she would throw away her disguise and destroy those who had been stupid enough to trust her. Yes, when Kuragari returned, she would be ready to strike... And kill. *** Kotori brushed a strand of hair out of her face, gazing up at the sky, her eyes clouded over in thought. She hung her head, thinking up possibilities on what could've happened if only they had known of the attack before it started. Then maybe none of the senshi would've been lost... Maybe Sailor Star Saturn would still be alive. Frustration built up in her, making her pound the wall. *Damn it?* she cursed, for once not caring that she shouldn't curse...as that was not really what she did. But it hurt so much. She had seen the pain in her eyes, and the attempt to cover it up with love. She had held her in her arms, whispering whatever comfort she could. She had even tried to heal her, but was told not to...to save her energy. Then her eyes closed, and it felt as if a piece of her heart had disappeared along with the death. *Okaa-san...* she thought, feeling the tears pricking her eyes. Never in her life, would she have thought she would face anything so devastating. Her mother, Hotaru...Sailor Star Saturn had died saving *her* and there had been nothing she could do to stop it. That's what killed her the most. Not being able to do anything, but watch her die in her arms. And then the darkness overpowered everything, and she watched every single of the other Star Senshi die... She shook the thoughts out of her furiously, as she stepped inside of the Outers' ...iie...the *Crystal* Outers' house. "Saikou-san? Suteki-san? Taira-san?" she called out, wondering if anyone else was in the house. She walked through the rooms, finding all of them empty until she came upon the closed kitchen door. Opening it slowly, she spotted Saikou. "Saikou-san!" Saikou blinked upon hearing her name and opened her eyes. The young daughter of the Senshi of Saturn was grinning in such a way that made her smile in spite of her pain. "Saikou-san!" Kotori cried as she launched her small body towards her friend. Saikou laughed softly and encased her in her strong arms. "Where were you?" Kotori asked, her voice muffled from Saikou's sweater. The woman sighed. "No matter, Ko-chan, I'm here now," Saikou replied, thoughts of her past days surfacing. She had ran away to her childhood home, before her family moved to the spacious house after an enemy had attacked the residence and destroyed it. It was crumbling and falling down when she reached the house but it was still beautiful. The flowers that Michiru had planted had grown over and ivy snaked up the walls. Saikou fell to her knees and cried until she fell asleep. Kotori sighed softly, hearing the pain laced in her voice. She had always been a bright child and now, even in her own depression, she could feel the radiating sorrow coming from friend. Her heart sank and she held the taller woman harder. There was a slight chuckle. Kotori looked up into the eyes of her friend and a smile touched her lips. It had been so long since she had heard the once strong and confident girl laughed. "As much as I enjoy your hug, dear," Saikou whispered as she loosened the young girl's grip on her waist. "I think you're crushing me.." Kotori softly laughed and let go. She looked around for traces of Suteki, her mama's friend's daughter, but there was none to be found. "Where's Suteki-san?" The blonde shrugged. "Don't know, Ko-chan. I think she's mad at me though.." Kotori frowned and hugged Saikou briefly before taking her hand and dragged her out the door. "We'll go find her and see what's wrong." *** The senshi guarding the Gate of Time was silent as she complamented the events of the past few days. She felt no sorrow for the one she had lost... although she did feel it for her friends. She had watched silently from her post, as the Star Senshi were struck down, one by one, until the only one remaining had been Sailor Moon. She had watched as Sailor Moon used the last of her energy to seal Chaos' and Kuragari to the far side of the galaxy. But she had turned around and thus had not seen what had happened next... Her eyes closed briefly and she reflected upon the first time she had been handed the job of guarding time, and a rare shot of hate coursed through her body. She had only been ten when handed the Toki Staff and duty! She had barely had time to actually live her life. And all because her mother, Sailor Pluto didn't want the burden of guarding time even after she had done so for more than a thousand years. Silence loomed and she sighed, shifting the Toki Staff to her other hand before raising her eyes once more, biting her lip in thought. It was lonesome where she was and she felt the urge to go check up on her fellow senshi and friends... A portal opened in front of her and Crytal Sailor Pluto stepped in it, having it close behind her as it disappeared... *** Kotori walked quickly, Saikou still behind her with an amused look in her face. "Matte, Saikou-san! There's Suteki-san! But who is she with...?" Kotori exclaimed, pointing to the obvious Crystal Senshi of Neptune as she started to enter the palace. Her curious gaze fell upon Saikou, as she noticed the younger girl in Neptune's arms. "Suteki-san!" Kotori repeated as she ran over to the older woman and flung her arms around her. "There you are." Suteki looked down and smiled slightly at her, then looked up to her "sister". Her eyes were pleading and sad. Suteki took all her strength not to drop the young girl in her arms and sprint to Saikou. "Suteki-chan?why did you run from me..?" Saikou whispered, defeatedly. She took a step forward, her arms out to her, but Suteki backed up, shaking her head. Saikou's heart ached. Why do I feel like this? Oh Suteki?what did you do to me?? Suteki set Muboubi onto the ground gently, then wringed her hands, deciding, wondering what to do as she looked from Saikou, to Kotori, then back to Saikou. "Maybe you should just tell her your feelings, Suteki-chan." a voice sounded behind her and Suteki whirled around, eyes falling on the Guardian of Time. "Pluto-san..." she whispered, then shook her head. "Iie, I can't tell her...I don't want to see what she'll do to what I say if I did!" Saikou switched her gaze from the Time Guardian to her sister, confused. She reached out and touched Suteki's back, wincing slightly as she jumped and pulled away. "Tell me?? Tell me what?" Saikou demanded, a fluttery feeling in her stomach coming on. She was nervous. Nervous? Saikou caught her sister's arm and pulled her in front of her and held her there. Suteki's beautiful eyes widened and she struggled in vain to free her- self. "Tell me?Suteki?" Suteki shook her head, tears falling down her face. "IIE! You'll hate me, Sai-chan! You WILL!" she broke away from the arms of Saikou, her eyes filled with confusment. "I don't want you to hate me...I don't want to lose anyone else I care for." Crystal Pluto placed a gentle hand onto Suteki's shoulder, squeezing it gently. "Just tell her, Suteki-chan...I promise that things will most likely turn out right ..." Suteki closed her eyes tightly, nodding slowly. She might as well, before holding back killed her. "I...I care for you more deeply than as a "sister"... Sai-chan.?" she started. She took a deep breath, opening her eyes slowly as she looked at Saikou. "I love you..." "Hate?hate you??" Saikou whispered, taking a step back and running into Kotori. Kotori squeaked softly as her foot was trodden on. Saikou looked down and acknowledged her mistake but did nothing. She loves you! No, she can't. She's a perfect girl Look at her. She's so beautiful. She'll please her husband.. You love her, too, baka. I.. Say it, Saikou. You know you love her. I love? Come on! "I love you, Suteki." Her heart soared. The weight was lifted and she was freed from her fear of her true feelings. Saikou laughed and slid her arms around her true love, burying her face in her beautiful, long hair. "My one. My only?" She whispered softly. Suteki's eyes sparkled and she flashed a knowing smile, her eyes lighted up with joy. All fear had been removed from then and she looked back towards Pluto and Kotori, who were talking to each other softly. Pluto nodded, giving Kotori one small, stoic smile before stepping back into a portal. Kotori stared at Suteki and Saikou, both of them smiling winningly at each other, and shook her head. Feeling a tug on her skirt, she looked down to see Muboubi looking up at her with wide eyes. "Hello little one." Kotori nodded, kneeling down to her height. "What can I do for you?" "What are those two doing?" Nai asked, acting naive as she pointed to the now kissing pair. Kotori sweatdropped, raising an eyebrow at the public display, then she gave Muboubi a small smile. "Nothing you need to know about at your age." she nodded, then picked the girl up. "Now, where had Suteki-san been taking you before she rushed off to Saikou?" "She was going to help me find my parents." "Hai...then let's go." With another glance at Suteki and Saikou, Kotori headed into the palace, leaving the other two outside... Still kissing... *** She was lost in the feel of love. All train of thought had stopped as she pulled the shorter woman up so she could kiss her deeper. Suteki's arms wrapped around her waist, holding her close. Reluctantly, Saikou pulled away from Suteki and smiled brilliantly. Her love smiled back, slightly dazed, and leaned into her embrace, resting against her. Saikou sighed softly and kissed her forehead. "I love you, Suteki," She whispered. Suteki smiled to herself and nuzzled her love's neck before resting her head on the taller girl's shoulders. It was like when they were children.. When they were "sisters". Cold dread filled her heart but she pushed it away. No. We're not blood sisters?it's not incest to fall in love with a close friend.. But it wouldn't go away. "I love you more than a 'sister'" She had thought of her as a sister too.. Saikou stepped away from Suteki, straightening her clothes. Suteki looked at her with those large, shining eyes. The blonde smiled slightly at her. "We better get back to Kotori," Saikou explained her leaving Suteki's embrace. She scooped up her hand-she had done this many times, she reassured herself, all friends hold hands-and pulled her lightly along to the palace. Suteki let Saikou pull her, but her mind was a whirl of confusion. Why had Saikou left her arms? Suddenly she felt the defensiveness around Saikou, and she pulled away as if she had been shot. Her wide eyes rested on Saikou, and she silently mouthed the words, "Why?" "You needn't try to pretend, Saikou ..." she said softly, her head turning away. "You don't like the idea of you and me...loving each other." Her eyes sparkled and she looked sorrowfully Saikou. "I guess you still believe we're sisters...even after the kiss...I truly believed you loved me." Suteki wiped the tears away forcefully, her eyes still shining with unshed tears. "But I guess I was wrong...I guess you're right...we should go back to the palace." Suteki turned and ran, leaving Saikou looking after her with a shocked expression on her face. "Suteki-chan! Matte!" she shouted, running after the graceful other. Mentally, she cursed herself for being such a jerk. "Suteki-chan! I didn't mean for it to come out like that!" Saikou stopped in right in front of the palace, catching her breath as she comp- lemented what to do next. She looked to her right, then left, seeing no sign of Suteki. Sighing heavily, she started down the right hall, to try to find her lover... Lover... The word rolled on her tongue and it felt so right...so much righter than the term, "sister". "Please, Suteki-chan, where are you? I didn't mean to hurt you..." she trailed off, continuing down the hall to try to find the other. *** AUTHOR NOTES: (i.e. Suteki, Areiko.
