Casey reluctantly put down his book and covered his head with his pillow. ---Let him remember where his keys are God, please?"--- "Casey, come on!" He waited a moment, then sighed as he tossed his pillow across the room. He mumbled to himself as he made his way to the door, knowing that his roommate was probably drunk. Opening the door, he saw the familiar dazed expression of his roommate Shedrick. He was, as Casey had guessed, intoxicated. Casey shook his head, "Can't you keep up with you keys for once! I am so fu..." "Shut up and put your clothes on." Casey folded his arms, "You never let me finish! Anyway, I am not going anywhere. We have two days till our finals and..." A pair of boxers and a T-shirt were thrown in his face. "There's a frat party going on. And we *are* going." Casey sighed in defeat, "You mean the party done by Mu Psi Phi? The one the Sorority sisters won?" "Won?" "Well, the girls had made a bet with them and the frat lost. I heard they had to have a *formal* party." Shedrick smiled, "Formal? No wonder no one knew about it..." **************************************** Usagi glanced at her sleeping escort who sat snoring beside her, his hair hanging over his face. ---How could he be tired? We only danced to ten songs-- thought Usagi as she nudged him gently with her elbows. "Kevin! Wake up!" Kevin stirred slightly and opened his eyes slowly. A smile appeared upon his face as his eyes began to adjust to the light. Usagi sighed. "I leave you alone for ten minutes and you fall asleep." Kevin loved it when he made her angry. "Well it's boring when you aren't around." She shook her head. "Well Kevin, what do you want to do?" "I don't know.." Kevin studied the expression on Usagi's face, "What are you thinking about, Usagi?" "Well, I was thinking..." "Stop thinking, Usagi... your ideas are worst than mine." Usagi rolled her eyes, "They aren't that bad." "Well, let's hear your *great* idea." ****************************************** "Shedrick, no!" Casey screamed as he was tossed onto the porch of the Mu Psi Phi Fraternity house. "You are the biggest jerk, I have ever.." "Be quiet, I don't want people to know we are here yet." Casey noticed that his roommate's speech wasn't as slurred as it was before. --He must be sobering up-- thought Casey as Shedrick pulled the door open. "Hello Everybody!!!!!" ****************************************** Numerous heads turned to the door to see who had screamed, interrupting their quiet evening. Two dark-haired males stood in the doorway, one, obviously drunk, holding a beer can in his hand and the other smiling nervously behind him. Shedrick's robust body swayed a bit as he stepped into the crowd. "What's going on? Why so quiet? This is a party, right?" "Yes, but you were not invited." Shedrick grumbled. "Who said that?!" Usagi covered her mouth. She had not meant to be so loud but this guy was ruining the party. Shedrick threw his can to the floor. "I repeat...Who said that!" Kevin felt Usagi shudder from the harshness in Shedrick's voice. His eyes narrowed as Shedrick again screamed his question. He pulled Usagi closer before he spoke. "I did!" Kevin watched as the man came towards them, still holding his beer can. He wore a pair of worn stone wash jeans and an old white tank top. His attention shifted when he noticed Usagi behind Kevin. "Hi there, babe. My name is Shedrick, what's yours?" Kevin's eyes hardened. "Leave her alone." Shedrick ignored his remark and continued talking to Usagi. "What's wrong, babe? You look foreign... Can-you-understand-me?" "I understand English perfectly you..." "Oh, you do speak English..." laughed Shedrick, cutting her off. "Well, how about we forget what your friend said and we..." "I said leave her alone," Kevin repeated his voice angry. Shedrick scoffed, "And what are you going to do? My buddy and I are ready to fight." Kevin stood calmly, a smile on his face. "Maybe you should ask yourself the same question. Remember you are at *my* frat party." Shedrick looked about the room, searching desperately for Casey. "Your friend is gone..." "Then it's just you and me..." His threat was interrupted by a swift blow to the face. Kevin's brown eyes flashed angrily as he raised his fist to the stunned Shedrick. "Little man!" yelled Shedrick angrily. "I am going to beat the life out of you!" Usagi covered her mouth as Kevin moved out of the way of Shedrick's first swing. Shedrick grumbled as Kevin dodged two more of his punches. Kevin took a moment to smile to Usagi, which was when Shedrick finally hit his mark. He fell to the floor roughly. "Kevin!" Usagi cried. A small group of Kevin's brothers, eager to fight, rushed towards the sobering Shedrick. "You don't mess with the brothers of Mu Psi Phi! Brier Polytechnic forever!" Shedrick lifted his fists in the air as the mob surrounded him. "I can take on all you little boys!" Usagi caught sight of Kevin's body as two of his frat brothers lifted him above the mass and tossed him to the floor. He rubbed the back of his head as he sat up. "Kevin, are you all right?" Usagi asked as she helped him to his feet. He dusted off his tuxedo. "Yeah, I guess. But we might want to leave, *now*." "Why are you in such a hurry?" He put his hands over hers and smiled. "Can't you hear them?" "Hear what?" she inquired as he lead her outside. "The police sirens," he mumbled as they continued to walk away from the Fraternity House. "Hey, Usagi? Can I sleep over tonight?" *********************************************** --new file--- --save as-- ---- The diary of Tsukino Usagi Last night I went to a party with Kevin which I *should* have guessed would turn ugly. And of course the familiar sound of police sirens rang around the campus of Brier Tech. My roommate was arrested last night along with the jerk who thought I couldn't speak English. So I let Kevin sleep here last night. He left about ten minutes ago. Oh, list this as the *second* time that Kevin has slept on the floor of my room. College life can be hectic when you have friends like mine. :) Another-- -*beep*- ----< there is a message in your inbox >---- Usagi sighed. "I am always interrupted while typing." She directed her cursor to her inbox and waited as the message appeared on her screen. from: ainomin@write.com subject: Hey ya girl! "All right Mina." Dear Usagi, How are you? I am at home, relieved that summer break is finally here. I know you have been busy, going to college in a foreign country must put extra pressure on you. "No duh," chuckled Usagi. Well, to let you know. Absolutely nothing has happened since you last visited. And the update on you-know-who? He hasn't said one thing to us since you left. Oh, and to add to this nice message--Your mother is requesting that you come home after exams. She misses you a lot. Well, let me know if you're coming. Mina >>>>>get free e-mail from write.com Usagi stared at the message. Her mother was requesting that she return. "I guess my father is wondering why I haven't bothered to return in a while." She closed the message and continued her typing. ************************************************* "Kevin?" "Hello, Earth to Kevin!" "Leave me alone," Kevin mumbled as he turned away from one of his brothers and continued reading his novel. "Does that mean that you have heard?" Kevin slammed his book shut. "Heard what?" "Your friend, the Japanese girl with the long blond hair is going home soon." "She didn't tell me." "Well I got my news from the local gossip man." "She can't leave." Kevin stated as he stood to his feet. **************************************** To: ainomin@write.com subject: re: Hey ya girl! Dear Mina, All right. You have convinced me to come home. I just hope I do not end up regretting this. Tell my mother that I am returning home. I'll be coming from gate 45 at 3:30 p.m. at Tokyo International Airport on Friday. And I must say it now, especially to you. I have changed *a lot*. Two years with some of these students will do it to you. I know my mother will just pass out when she sees me. Well I'll talk to you later. Usagi Usagi leaned back in her chair and smiled. "One more day till my final in General Chemistry then I go home." "So you *are* going home." said a sad voice. Usagi turned her chair around and found Kevin sitting on her bed. "Kevin how do you always get in here?" "We..I need to talk to you." Kevin gently touched her arm. "Must you go now?" Usagi lowered her head and sighed. "I was hoping that you would not ask me that question." Kevin's hands suddenly grasped hers. "Usagi please stay. Like you did last year. We could go to the beach again or to some parties.." "Kevin, I need to go home. Two years is a long time to be away your family and friends." He exhaled. "Then let me go with you." He saw her expression change from sadness to shock. "I know what you are going say--Kevin you are being immature but I have gotten used to you being here and.." Usagi eyes widened. "I don't know." He kissed her hand. "I won't be any trouble. I promise." Notes: Let me know if I am doing a good job :). Send me mail. And I like to thank Janice and Fushigi Kismet for their help.
