Title: Christmas Magic Chapter 3 Author: Azn Angel Email: sakura_angel@excite.com Rated: PG Hey, minna-chan! It's the third chapter! Yay! Well, I want to thank all you people who emailed me! I'm so happy! And you guys are wishing me a Merry Christmas! *sniffle* That's so sweet! Thankies, people! I wish all you guys out there Happy Holidays! ^_^ Oh, yeah, a couple of people have emailed me about the senshi's (mainly Sailor Moon's) attacks. I used a SMR attack in the last chapter, but this IS a first season fic, OK, poeple? Now that we've established that... Hmm, let's see, there's a little note I want to say. Please check out my sister's fic! She's a newbie, like me. Even if she hasn't let me read it, I'm sure it's good! ^_^ I've read her work before, and it's pretty good. Please read it! She's my best friend, yup, yup! Her name's Achika, and her fanfic is entitled, "Christmas Delight". I'm looking forward to reading it! By the way, Achika-chan, this chapter's for you! I think that's all. On with the show! Er, fic! Disclaimer: *sings* Christmas is coming! The geese are getting fat! Please put Sailor Moon in my hat! If you haven't got Sailor Moon, a Mamo-chan will do, if you haven't got a Mamo-chan, it won't do! *sweatdrop* OK, OK, I don't own Sailor Moon. Sheesh... ~*~*~*~* I turned to the tall, bare tree, where Tuxedo Kamen had stood. Now, it was completely empty, and held not a trace of the masked savior. I stared blankly at the tree, wishing its previous occupant was still there. Why did he always leave so soon? Why couldn't he maybe stay for a chat, or a walk, or a milkshake? (Or two, or three, or four...) "Moonie?" someone called softly. I focused on the brunette that had spoken to me. "Nani?" "We should be getting home. It's getting cold." "And it's starting to snow." Mercury added. I looked up to the sky. "Ooh," I breathed. The small ice crystals were falling in a slow, graceful way. The flakes lifted my spirits. I turned to the senshi. "OK." I said. "Let's go back. Maybe we can light a fire in Mako's chimney!" The senshi smiled at me. We started off to an alley. After we detransformed, Rei sighed. "Ahh, the warmth of my coat." Murmurs of agreement were heard. The short skirts of the fuku was not a good source of warnth. I visualized Makoto's apartment. "Hey, Mako-chan." I said. "You don't have a Christmas tree yet. We're already here, so why don't we choose one for you right now?" Mako's eyes lit up. "Great idea, Usagi! I've been meaning to get a tree anyways. And when we get it home, you guys can help me decorate it." "Kakkoii!" Minako replied. "C'mon, let's get that tree!" She pulled us out of the dark space. We split up, each looking for the right tree. Turns out, it took quite a little bit of time to find the right one. "Too big." "Too small." "Too thin." "Too green." Ami sighed at glanced at her watch. "Minna, it's getting late. It's already 9:30." "Yeah, yeah, but isn't getting a good tree more important than time?" Minako asked distractedly. She stopped at one tree. "Perfect!" We all gathered around, inspecting the tree, looking for any faults. When we found none, we all agreed on it. "It's a beautiful green color." "It's not too expensive." "It's smells good." "It has a nice shape." "It's perfect, OK?" Ami threw her hands up in the air. "Get it! There's no one stopping you!" So Mako paid for the tree, and we lugged it to her home, grunting and heaving all the way. *grimace* Believe me, you do NOT want to carry home a six foot tree when you're only 5'1". "Itai!" Rei exclaimed as she dropped her part of the tree. She glared at Ami. "Ami-baka! Watch where you guide those branches!" Ami threw one of her death glares back at her. "Well, then, watch where you put your feet! And you think Usagi-chan is a klutz!" "Yeah!" I joined in. "Stay out of this, Odango!" Rei said to me. "You guys are ruining the branches! Stop!" Mako said. "Forget it, Makoto. They're long gone." Minako said tiredly, waving a hand in our direction where Rei and I were yelling. Mako sighed, and shifted her weight of the tree. I don't know what happened. Maybe Mako shifted it too far. Maybe Rei and I weren't holding onto the tree tight enough. Whatever it was... THUMP! The tree went tumbling out of our hands and down the road, which just happened to be a sloped hill we were standing on. THUNK! CRASH! Minako winced. "I think our tree here is somewhat... gone." Mako glared hard at us. "This is all your fault!" she yelled, waving her hands wildly. "If you guys weren't arguing and paid attention, this wouldn't have happened! Now, I have a ruined tree for Christmas, thanks to you people!" We looked down, up, or sideways, studying the ground, the sky, and the lovely bush right over there... Just as long as we didn't meet Mako's gaze or eachothers'. Mako sighed. "Come on, minna, let's go see if the tree is all right." We all looked at her crestfallen face. I knew Mako loved Christmas (ALMOST as much as me, and that's saying a lot!) and she must be sad about the tree. I opened my mouth to say something, but I heard more than just my voice. "Gomen nasai, Mako-chan." I heard Rei, Ami, Minako, and I say. We looked at eachother in amazement, saying the same thing at the same time again. "Whoa..." Mako stared blankly at us, then burst out laughing. "Ha ha, you guys are so funny!" she said between giggles. We weakly smiled at eachother, Rei raising an eyebrow at Mako, who was beginning to roll on the floor... Minako carefully squatted down next to Mako to. "Um, anou... Mako-chan?" "Hai?" she asked, looking up at us. "We should go see if the tree's OK." "Oh. Yeah. Right." She quickly jumped up and brushed herself off. We cautiously went down the slippery slope full of snow (AN: Say that five times fast!). Once we got down, we immediately spotted a big green (and white, for it was covered with snow that had fallen) lump. We hurried over to it. For a moment, we were silent, until Mako frantically started checking it over to see if it was OK. We held our breaths. Mako sighed, relieved. "It's fine." she breathed. "Whoo," we all said. Good thing it was OK, or Mako would have been angry! "Well, help me get this back up the hill and to my place, or we'll be stuck in a blizzard!" Mako said, grunting as she lifted the tree up. Ami looked up. "Hmm," she observed. "I see some stratus and cirus clouds." Minako looked at her blankly. "Nani?" "We might have a snow storm, or more likely an ice storm." she explained. "Ice?!" I exclaimed. "I'd rather have snow, no offense, Ami." "None taken." she smiled. (AN: You know, Ami's element is ice, and Usagi prefers snow than ice? ...Ah, forget it.) "Either way," Minako said, shivering. "We should get back home. It's VERY cold, nonetheless." "I agree." Rei agreed. (AN: Corny, ne? ^_^ Tee hee.) So, we trudged as quickly as we could in heavy clothing, and marched on to Mako's apartment. ~*~*~*~* "OOF!" I exclaimed as I released the tree onto Mako's clean apartment floor. "Whew," I wiped my forehead. "THAT was a good workout!" "Luna would have been proud of us." Mako said as she peeled away the her wet parka. Ami was right, there WAS a bit of snow, and some ice. We were soaked. "I'm never wearing cloth gloves ever again!" Ami exclaimed, attempting to pull off her sticky glove. "OOHHH!" Rei wailed unhappily. "My new boots are RUINED!" She stared at the pile of moist lumpy leather at her feet. "I was saving and saving up for these!" "Aww, pipe down." Minako said. She was free of her damp winter clothing. (Lucky her.) She rolled up the sleeves of her pastel yellow sweater. "Let's get to work on this Christmas tree! We're going to make it a work of art!" I tugged on my soggy jacket until it came off. "Oh, man, that's one WET jacket." I said, tossing it into Mako's closet. "I hope THAT dries up soon." I turned to the tree that was on its side. "Now, let me at that tree!" I said enthusiastically. "Come on, Rei-chan." Ami said to the priestess. "Don't worry about your shoes. I'm sure they'll be fine." Rei turned to Ami with fire in her eyes. "AMI, this is LEATHER! Leather that's soaking WET!" "It's OK, Rei-chan, don't worry about it." Ami soothed comfortly. "Let's just go work on the tree, OK?" Rei's head drooped down. "OK." She let Ami guide her to the tree, where Minako and I were trying to get it up straight horizontally. Ami gave us a curious look at our grunting, pulling, pushing, and heaving. "Uh, Usagi-chan, Minako-chan, where's Mako-chan?" "She's in her closet looking for her decorations." I panted, exhausted at our efforts. "Oh." Ami said. "Well, let's see if all four of us can get this tree up." She and Rei joined us. "Heave, ho! Heave, ho!" Minako said. "Ho ho ho!" Rei joked. "Ho hold it, minna!" Ami exclaimed, her voice surprisingly loud stopping us. "We need to do this in a coordinated fashion!" "Did someone say fashion?" Makoto asked, her voice muffled by the immense amount of boxes in her hands, full of decorations. "We need to make sure that when Minako says 'Heave!' we all heave. When Minako says 'Ho!' we all ho." Ami explained, ignoring Mako's slightly clueless remark. "How do we 'ho'?" Minako asked airily. "I mean, we get ready for the next heave." Ami said. "Oh!" "Yeah, so let's start with-" "Wait for me!" Mako cried, delicately putting down the loads of decorations onto her coffeetable. She joined us next to the tree. "READY?!" Minako yelled. Rei winced. "Minako, please think of our ears!" "Oh, gomen." she said, distracted. "GET SET!" "It sounds like we're about to start a race or something." I heard Ami mutter darkly under her breath. I gave her a smile, and she smiled back. "GO!" We prepared... "Heave!" "AHHHH!" I think that was all of us yelping out in terror. With Mako, who happens to be one strong girl, we pushed a little TOO far. "OOOOF!" Then a dull THUNK! Silence. "Ooowww." Rei moaned painfully, rubbing her head, which was on Minako's knee. "Ouch." I sai, feeling my poor foot, which was squished underneath Rei's weight. "Owie!" Minako cried, pulling her leg away from underneath Rei's head, which caused Rei's head to BONK on the floor, which the effect (AN: *nods in thought* Cause and effect. My Science teacher would be proud.) was another groan from Rei. "Grrr..." Mako growled, untangling her arm from Ami's arm. "Ow!" Ami winced. She carefully removed her arm away. "I think that spot is going to be sore for awhile." She rubbed the lower part of her arm. Mako's eyes suddenly widened, and she gingerly rolled away from all of us. Then she hopped up, shouting,"GET UP! You're ruining my tree even MORE!" Realizing what she meant, we all carefully rolled over to where Makoto was, and jumped up. We stared at the almost flat tree as Mako ranted angrily under her breath. "Must... refrain... from... killing..." ~*~*~*~* No cliffhanger today! I ran out of ideas. -_- *dances* Winter break for me!
