Title: Christmas Magic Chapter 8 Author: Azn Angel Email: silver_dragon12@excite.com Rated: PG OK, this chapter has a little bit of girl-get-ready-go. You know, make-up and stuff. If I write something wrong, sorry. I don't know much about make-up, even if I am a girl. Just a warning... Disclaimer: I don't own Sailor Moon. ~*~*~*~* I ran like there was no tomorrow. It was after me! After me, I tell you! I ran and ran. My P.E. coach would have been proud. It was after me! It was... Rei. "OMAE O KOROSU, USAGI-BAKA!" (AN: Sorry, all you Heero fans out there. It was needed. Gomen, Hee-koi fans. *coughShinicough*) Her face was blazing angry. She was hot on fire. Much like her senshi attacks. Hmm... Anyways... "YOU'RE LATE!!!" "GYAH!" I cried. Ami, Makoto, and Minako were watching us. Hey! Where'd they get the popcorn?! "Go, Usagi!" Minako cheered. "Run! Run! Run!" Ami chanted. "SPRINT! How many times have I told you, SPRINT!" Mako suddenly appeared as a running coach, whistle and all. I sprinted. "Now PUSH!" she hollered. I pushed myself. Ah! In front of Rei... And Rei sprints. She pushes. She tackles. "AAAHHHHHHH!!!!!" Rei yelled. "AAAHHHHHHH!!!!!" I yelled. After much pulling, grunting, pushing, shoving, pinching, and, uh, biting, Rei was pulled off of me by Mako. "Ohh..." I groaned. "Why is it that I'm always getting tackled by my friends? The only one left is Ami, though I'm pretty sure she won't tackle me." I looked at Ami. "Right?" Ami had a glint in her eye, but she said, "Right." (Ami: Just wait, Usagi-chan. Just wait...) I stood up, rubbing my sore arm. "Ow..." Rei glared at me. "Would you mind telling me WHY you were so late?!" I glanced at my wristwatch. "I'm only an hour late." "ONLY?!" I sighed. "Look, I ran into Mamoru and Motoki on the way, OK?" Suddenly, I was surrounded by all. "Ooh, Mamoru?" Minako asked, a smile playing on her lips. All of them had a sparkle of interest in their eyes. "Hai..." "Oh, any hugs, handholdings, liplocking?" "MAKO!" I blushed. "Well?" "Iie..." OK, so this was part true. No "liplocking" as Mako put so delicately. "Well, then why were you so late?" Rei crossed her arms. "I..." I couldn't lie to my friens. "I went to his apartment." "HIS APARTMENT?!" everyone shrieked. "Hai..." "Whoo, girl." Mako nudged me with her elbow. "Going fast there, ain't ya?" She winked. "MAKO!!!!" I scolded. "Hentai!" "Not exactly so innocent yourself, are you, Usagi?" Ami said. "That Mamoru. What a sly, sly dog..." Murmurs over agreement were heard. "Nothing happened, OK?!" I yelled. "You guys are disgusting!" "Why, thank you." Minako curtsied. I rolled my eyes. "Aren't we here for a meeting, minna?" I asked pointedly. "Who cares about meetings?" Rei asked. "Not after you told us this info!" Well, at least I didn't have to talk about Tuxedo Kamen anymore. Wait, yes I do. They barreled me with questions about Mamoru, and what we did. So, technically, I did. *sigh* ~*~*~*~* After about two and a half hours of me answering questions, they finally stopped. I won't bore you with the details, but let's say that it takes someone three times to say something in order for these people to get it in their heads! "So," I asked lazily. We were in Rei's bedroom, reading her manga. "What are you guys wearing for the masquerade?" I had already told them they were invited, which produced excited squeals. "When is it?" Minako asked just as sluggishly. I sat up. "Tomorrow." "WHAT?!?!" Everyone shot up. I cocked an eyebrow in amusement. Now I understood how Mamoru felt. "Yes." "OH NOOOO!!!!" Minako wailed. "What will I wear?!" "You?!" Ami said. "You have nearly as much clothing as Usagi! Think about ME!!" Rei dashed to her closet. "I actually HAVE something to wear!" She pulled out a beautiful taffeta and velvet red dress. It had short sleeves, and the dress was long and flowing. We "ooh"ed and "ahh"ed, as Rei held it up to her and modeled it for us. "You look great, Rei-chan!" Minako cried. "Oh, but it's a masquerade!" Rei exclaimed. "We all need masks!" "Not a problem!" Minako said cheerfully. "My mother and father have been to many cocktail parties, masquerades, and costume parties. I KNOW they'll have some masks!" "Oh, you wouldn't mind if we borrowed them?" Ami asked. Minako waved a hand. "No way! We have plenty!" Her eyes lit up. "Oooh! I just had the most wonderful idea! What if all of us met at my house to get ready for the party!" "Oh, that's a great idea!" Ami cried. "Yeah!" Mako and Rei agreed. Minako turned to me. "You in?" "Well, how about we meet at my house instead. Mamoru is supposed to pick me up at five thirty, at my house." "No prob." Minako said, grinning at me in a suggestive way. "We'll meet at your place. I'll bring the masks." "Yeah, it's no problem with me." Rei said. "Same here." Ami and Mako chimed in. "OK." I said, smiling. "How's three o' clock?" "Three o' clock?" Ami asked doubtfully. "Will we need that long?" Minako nodded solemnly. "Oh, yeah. We will..." (AN: I... am afraid...) ~*~*~*~* DING DONG! "I'll get it!" I called down the stairs. It was two fifty. Day of the dance. I'm betting it's Ami-chan. (AN: I'll take you on that bet!) She's always early... I opened the door. "Konnichiwa, Usagi-chan!" Ami greeted me. (AN: Aw, darn it! I lost!) "Konnichiwa, Ami-chan!" I replied back. "Come right in!" Just as I was about to close the door, I heard a shout on the other side. "Matte!" I opened the door again. "Rei-chan! Hey!" She stepped in, followed by Mako. "Hey, minna!" "Hey, Mako-chan." we chorused. She looked around. "Where's Minako? She better not be late! She has our masks..." "Which are right here!" Minako's voice piped up. "I wouldn't be late for anything like this! And I came prepared, too!" She held up a large make-up kit. "Great!" I said. "Everyone's here! Let's get to my room." As we were "thump, thump"ing up the steps, Minako asked me, "Where is Luna?" "She went over to your place to visit Artemis." I replied. "Oh," Minako said, relieved. "I didn't want her to get in the way." "I know what you mean." I agreed. Once we got into my room, Minako immediately went to my bureau to dump all her stuff on the top, joining my things like make-up, sprays... "Well, thanks." I said sarcastically. "Ah, we'll help you clean it up later. Let's start!" She rubbed her hands together. "Well, I think all of us should take showers." Makoto said, wrinkling her nose. "Oh, definitely." Minako pulled out a carrying bag and dumped its contents on my bed. "I brought soaps, shampoos, and lotion. Choose yours!" We looked over the choices. Making my selection, I chose a lilac scent. I wanted the vanilla, but Ami got that. *glares at Ami* "So, who wants to shower first?" Minako asked. "Usagi should." Makoto said. "After all, this is her place." "OK." I gathered up my selections, and my towel. Heading to the bathroom, I heard Mina-chan say, "Oh, I also brought towels..." Minako is too prepared... ~*~*~*~* After me showering, Ami, took a turn, then Rei, then Mako, and finally Minako. We were sitting on my bed, wrapped in towels. "So, who wants me to give them a makeover?" Minako asked. "No, thanks." I said, filing my nails. "I'll do my own." "Same here." Rei said. "Ditto." Mako said. "I don't really know much about make-up." Ami said quietly. "I guess you can do me." "Ooh, great!" She pulled Ami away into a corner. I nearly laughed when I saw Ami's look of terror on her face. Wanting to keep the make-up light, I looked over all the blushes, I chose a natural looking one, just to cover up the patches of blot on my skin. (Which isn't much...) I put on some mascara, and added a bit of pale pink lipstick. I looked in the mirror. There! I smiled with satisfaction. Light make-up! The trick with make-up is to make the make-up make you look natural. I looked over to Rei. She had no make-up on. Her face is already completely flawless. She didn't need make-up. I felt a slight trace of envy. She was working on her hair. I realized I should also. I had the longest hair out of everyone there. I concentrated on brushing every strand. If I did something wrong, it would HURT. BAD. *wince* Ow, a tangle. I wondered which style I should do. I considered a ponytail, pigtails, braids, curled, bun, odangos... Wait, no! Now I'm starting to talk like Mamoru! AHH! I finally settled on putting my hair in a tight, neat bun, leaving some wisps of golden hair framing my face. I put some pearl-studded clips in my hair also. Spreading lotion on my arms, legs, and face, I added some pearl earrings, and a string of pearls. I went into my closet. I had chosen this beautiful white dress, with golden sequins, and fancy sleeves. I didn't even know where I had gotten it. I just found it in my closet this morning. (AN: Do you know what dress I'm talking about?) I changed into it, making sure not to muss my hair. I slipped into a pair of white high heels. "Are you guys ready?" I called from the closet. "Yeah." everyone said. I exited from the closet. "Oh, wow, Usagi, you look beautiful!" Minako gushed. "Just like a princess!" Mako put in. "Very nice, Usagi." Rei said. "You look so pretty, Usagi-chan!" Ami exclaimed. I laughed, blushing. Again, comments make me blush. "Arigatou! You guys don't look so bad yourself!" Actually they looked great! Really beautiful. Rei looked so lively in her red dress! She added red heels, and a ruby-stoned necklace and earrings. Her hair was the same style, only more shiny and silky looking. Ami looked very elegant! Using the light make-up touch, like me, she had on the tiniest hint of blush, and some pale pink lipstick and mascara. But her dress! Whoo! It was royal blue, and long and flowing, like Rei's. The sleeves were long, loose, and a transparent light blue, so you could still see her arms. (AN: If you've seen the Sailor Moon SuperS movie, think of Peruru's sleeves.) Adding a pair of cream colored small strappy heels, and a rhinestone-studded necklace and dangling daimond-like (AN: I said LIKE!) earrings, with some rhinestone-studded clips in her hair, she was quite a sight! Makoto was stunning! She had a rosy pink lipstick on, with mascara and blush. He dress was a deep forest green, that clung to her curves, and tight. She had on some light brown pumps, and her trademark rose earrings. Her necklace was a silver chain, with a silver rose charm on it. Her hair was down, but pulled back, like Minako's hairstyle, only without the bow. Minako looked very sophisticated. She wore deep red lipstick, and mascara with blush. Her dress was a deep, vivid orange, with a little bit of yellow mixed in. Like a sunset. It was styled like Makoto's, but had thin straps. She had on some sunset orange heels, and a gold necklace, with earrings. Her hair was in a big, thick braid. Minako produced five masks, the kind Tuxedo Kamen wears. (AN: I don't know how they think it doesn't show who it is, but go with me now, OK?) "Choose one, minna." The perfect choices! I got a pale gold one, Ami got a royal blue, Rei got a vibrant red, Mako got a forest green, and Minako got the orange one. "I love them!" I said, adjusting mine on. "Well, we better get to the place, minna." Ami said, checking my clock. "It's already five fifteen, and we don't even know the way." "Huh?" I asked. "We're carpooling together." Rei said. "My aunt is taking us." Minako said. BEEP! BEEEEEEEP! "And... there she is!" Minako said. She jumped up. "We'll see you there, Usagi-chan. With, of course, Mamoru." She gave me a sly smile. "Ja ne, Usagi-chan!" everyone called to me. "Ja ne, minna." I replied, waving. Minako took her bag, and gave me a wink. "You be good on the way. Don't do anything I wouldn't do!" "Minako!" I gasped. But she was already out the door. I sat on my bed, blushing to the tips of my roots. I looked at the clock. Five seventeen. I had to wait for thirteen more minutes, if he came on time. I grabbed my coat, and went downstairs. "My, my, my, you look breathtaking, dear!" Ikuko-mama's voice said once she saw me. Blushing, I thnaked her. "Arigatou." I smiled. She whipped out a camera out of nowhere. "Let me take a quick snapshot of you!" After a few pictures (Whoa, I see bubbly things...), I heard a knock on the door. I looked at our clock. Five twenty-five. Early, just like Ami. *sigh* "Oh, there's your date!" My mom squealed. "Go answer it!" I slowly walked to the door. Feeling nervous, I turned the doorknob at .01 miles per hour. The door opened... And there stood Mamoru, looking sharp with a tuxedo, and a quirky grin when he saw me. ~*~*~*~* BWAHAHAHAHA! Just one more chapter to go, my friends! Email me! ~*~Azn Angel~*~
