Serena, wake up!" A man said shaking a small form. "My goodness. What is happening to this child?" the man mumbled to himself, finally giving up on trying to wake the slumbering shape. It was obviously a young girl, the age of thirteen. Her hair shined in the sunlight looking as if it was sewn from cloths of gold and her face, a pale milky sculpture molded in distress as it seemed. Eyes closed tightly, with fluttering eyelashes, were wet with tears. They leaked onto the sides of her face, forming small flows of rivers. She was fighting something. Something so terribly wrong that it sent fear down her back and sent her arms and legs flying in the air. Breath coming in desperate gasps, she screamed and shot up from bed. The little man was just staring at her. "My, gods, Serena. Won't you tell me what you're dreaming?" Avoiding his eyes, Serena suddenly became very interested in her straw quilt. "It really was nothing, Lorence." Shaking his head, he knew not to pry. "All right. We have to hurry up this week. Winter is coming in as fast as its blizzards. We might as well store as many things as possible. Now come on go fetch some water and get yourself cleaned up." Lorence, as Serena had called him, said. The small, lithe girl slowly got out of bed wiping her face from tears and walked past the small cat giving it a little caress. It purred and rolled over quietly purring. Serena, finished with her grooming said, "Luna, you lazy head. We gotta get some food! I'm hungry!" with that Serena walked out the door and said good- bye to Lorence and went down the village. Some people stared and pointed. As you could probably tell, Serena wasn't very liked in this village. It all started out when she was four. Lorence, Serena's stepfather, was hunting one day for the village when he heard a beautiful voice, and when he followed it, the sound of a child's voice joined, making a beautiful duet. Lorence had told this story to her in his point of view. He had said that he found Serena singing with tears in her eyes, a long melancholy song and when she laid her large blue eyes on him, her and the other beautiful voice stopped singing. When he talked to her she had told him that she didn't know where she was, or how she got there, but that she was cold and hungry. He had taken her in, fed her, housed her, and adopted her as his own child. She had grown to be a strong girl who often picked fights with the village boys, and always was disrespecting her elders. Everyone hated her for her beauty and her rank. For she was the adopted daughter of their leader, Lorence. They thought of her strange and odd, because she acted as if she was a boy, tending the fields, when no other girl or woman would or would even think of doing something like that. They thought her odd because she never wore a dress; in fact they despised her because she never learned the things that they taught girls. She always was with the boys, learning how to fight and handle almost every weapon in the village. Even the boys were angry with her, because she was always better than them in physical things. So basically, the village would never accept her. Serena didn't really mind. Nothing suited her in this village. It wasn't where she belonged. Walking with her stubborn chin up she walked right past them with Luna right behind her. Past the village was the forest, the beautiful, enchanting forest. It was where Serena spent all of her time. She often talked to the animals, running past the tangled up trees with her golden tresses reflecting the sunrays across the forest. This was her home. Where she thought she belonged. Where she felt she was accepted. With a grin she ran as fast as she could across the grassy forest, her feet wet from the morning dew. Giggling, she reached the little pond of water and stopped there. It was the most enchanting place of all. Lily pads drifted across the surface of the water, and small bright bugs danced across the ripples. She laid down and looked up at the sky. It was a bright blue with puffs of white clouds floated around blue mass. Luna came up to her and rubbed against her leg. "Serena, why can't you get along with the village children?" Serena looked down at Luna. "I'm surprised you're even asking me that. Ew! I just can't standdddd them! I'd rather be here. In this forest, dreaming of when my prince charming will come!" giggling, she got up and twirled around and around, enjoying the freedom. "Serena, there's something going to happen tonight?" Luna started, but Serena shushed her. "Luna don't start with this. I got to help Lorence with the crops. Come on!" quickly scrubbing her face and splashing her hair with water, she ran back to the village with Luna. "Lorence! I'm back! What do we have to do?" she walked in the room and saw that he wasn't there. She walked back out of the village and asked a boy where Lorence was. "I think he's in the discussion room." Shrugging her shoulders she went to another wooden door knocking softly. In the room was an old, fragile woman with shriveling gray hair falling past her shoulders. "Ah? Serena once again!" she grinned and motioned for her to come in. This woman was called Maggie. One of the village Elders. This was Serena's second favorite person out of all the people she known. Maggie told the grandest stories of knights in shining armor, and stories a lost moon princess and how the earth prince and her are destined to be together. That was Serena's favorite one. The Princess was stolen and taken away, to be brought somewhere in the Solar System and never to be seen again. The Prince, Prince Endymion, was engaged to her, and when they finally found each other once again the world corrupted into chaos. But Maggie said that it was just a tale of love and sadness. "Maggie, why is Lorence in the discussion rooms?" Serena asked. "I'm not sure child? but I think it is because of the search of the moon princess. Some foreign people, well armies actually have been coming to village to village slaughtering every being searching for this long, lost girl. It was said that when she is angry enough, she will summon the sacred and ancient power within her and show herself to them. So, Lorence, as the head of our village, is discussing the issue right now." Serena stares at the floor for a few minutes. "Why doesn't the princess just show herself! All these people are going to die if she doesn't do anything!" suddenly angry, she stood up and said, "Maggie, are they coming here tonight?" the old woman slowly nodded her head yes. "Tonight is the night of our deaths, Serena." Okie well.. I bet ur thinking.. 'welll thattttttt was gay' sorry!~ but im shure itll get better?
