Title: Farewell Author: Chibsters (ChibiMercury) Rating: PG-13 Disclaim: Thanks Naoko, I claim no ownership to SM! The Darkness.... pure darkness.... it engulfed her.... she wasn't aware of anything else.... just the darkness.... over taking her.... as if she had no choice.... no choice... just darkness......almost comforting.... .relief..... careless... freedom forever... in darkness... without emotions... she quietly left.... and was gone..... her heart stopped quietly forever but she smiled..... going somewhere better, where..... skies.... were blue and happiness.... was everywhere good... beauty.... "**beep** it," he screamed in frusteration, why wouldn't she respond to his calls? It was as if she was -- "No, it's not that... you're just sleeping.... baby... Wake UP!!!" Sweat hung in dirty clumps to his neck, moistening his hair, his face was red from the battle, the surprise.. His heart rang in loud protest, banging on his chest, not believing the truth, leaving him breathless in strange emotions he couldn't know. And yet there was still no reply to his calls, and he tipped his head back in agony; how could she die on him? But no, she wasn't dead... She was never dead... So how could she leave him? It wasn't right; it shouldn't be that way... but she wasn't dead... she was still alive; he wouldn't ever let her die. Never, ever. They would all live on... together.... forever. She was his own, he couldn't go without her... He burrowed his greif stricken head into her stomache, crying now, tears of sorrow, he was breathless, but now he preferred it that way. His tears mixed with her blood, her blood smeared upon him, he wouldn't let her go... never... The tears fell softly against the white body suit, the ribbons and laces hid his face. The tears mixed with the sweat, the red mixed with the ribbons, and yet he didn't notice... almost refused to notice. He was strong too, and strong men didn't cry.... so why was he weeping into his own's stomache? He struggled to stop the tears, he needed to be strong... She wouldn't want him to act this way.. She would tell him to go on... in peace. There would be another chance to create.... but no one like her ever. Ever. EVER! He screamed through his tears into the frosty night, a howl of greif, regret, sorrow.... "Mamoru-sama," she gripped his arm hesitantly, would he struggle and beg not to leave her side? "It's okay, Makoto, I'll be..... fine. Just... just let me have a few more moments with my precious one..." the sentence faded away as if he was deep in thought, so Jupiter didn't bother him.... it was bad enough the way things are sometimes... "Jupiter!" It was the others... they were in battle, so had Tuxedo Kamen and Jupiter, but when the death wings had spread over the little one, they had stopped fighting for the time. "Jupiter, come on, we need a little electric boost!" She smiled a tight forced smile while wiping a stray tear from her eye; "Sure thing, guys." Then she too left Tuxedo Kamen and disappeared into the mists of the battle to be of aide to the others. "Jupiter Oak Evolution!" The electric burst zapped across the sky and struck the creature in it's forehead, leaving a small, charred hole in the soft, yellow skin. The monster immediatley began falling. "All right, Sailorjupiter!" The others cheered and Mars sent out her Fire Bird. The monster then fell to the ground where it promptly popped into a large puddle of goo, the sound going 'plop'. A lone eyeball fell astray from the puddle and Venus squished it with a sickening squish of triumph. "Jupiter, what happened? Is she okay?" Now that their fight was finished, they crowded around her in curiousity, needing to know what had happened.... "You guys..." Sailorjupiter held back a tear, "She's dead." They gave a small gasp and turned to where Tuxedo Kamen and the little one had laid. Emptiness greeted them, they were gone. You couldn't even tell that they had once kneeled and died over there except for a stray spring of pink hair and their imprints in the dirt. "Leave them be," Sailorjupiter cautioned, "he has to tell Usagi in his own way..." The others nodded, tears in their eyes; the little pink bunny was gone. No more ChibiUsa running up to greet them after school, no one for Usagi to fight with any more over Rei's comics.... no more. "But why..." Sailorvenus grasped Mars's arm, "why couldn't Pluto do that little..... twirly thingy with her key and make it not happen?" Mercury, looking up, snapped off her visor, "I've concluded that the layer of time had become corroded out from Pluto economizing our durations time after time.... the layer is too diluted, it could buffet if someone was to endeavor to activate it afresh." Dumbfounded, they all stared blank eyed, "Which means?" Sailorvenus asked. "We would all die, even ChibiUsa, if Pluto tries to save one of us again, the universe might collapse. We've worn it too thin..." Silence settled around them like a thick, winter blanket. But it wasn't a comfortable silence that one comes to love at times; it was an uneasy silence, full of eerie and remorse. No one spoke as they stared out onto the horizon. "That's pretty harsh," Sailorvenus stated. There was no more conversation as they bid their bunny a last farewell. 'may you be safe where ever you are chibiusa'
