~A Destiny Fulfilled~ Part One ~Emerald Eyes~ ~(PG) Chapter 1 By Callisto~ "Darkness" With a flick of a light switch the dark room was filled with a luminous glow. Makoto took off her shoes and slipped her feet into the pair of soft pink slippers waiting by her door. Her deep green eyes looked around the tidy, cheerful living room. After eating dinner at Usagi?s house with Minako, Ami and Rei her home felt unusually quiet. As she thought about her evening, a smile spread across her face. Usagi?s home cooked dinner had been a very interesting experience. It had been wonderful eating with everyone, like a family. Makoto looked across the room at a faded rocking chair in the corner. The floral cushion was worn and the colors faded. The wood was scratched and had long lost its glamour. As she stared at, she couldn?t help but think of her mother. ~Flashback~ Makoto was sitting on the floor, she was no older than three or four years old. She looked up at her mother. Her long, golden brown hair was neatly braided and it hung over her shoulder. She sat in her rocker, swaying gently, her long slender fingers working quickly and softly as she knitted. Makoto loved to watch her mother knit. Her mother looked so beautiful, so feminine. "When I grow up, I want to be just like mommy.?? Makoto had thought as she watched her mother. Her mother then looked up and smiled and her little daughter lovingly, but suddenly, Makoto was no longer the little girl sitting on the floor. She was sitting in the rocker looking down. There, sitting on the carpet was a tiny little girl. Her hair was like golden sunlight, and her bright shining eyes were like dancing emeralds. She looked so happy, so carefree. Her face filled Makoto with a peace and happiness she had never felt before. Then the room filled with light, swirling around the tiny girl. She began to glow as brightly as the sun. When the light disappeared, she was dressed as a Senshi, and her happy expression had turned to terror. She looked up at Makoto, her once gleaming eyes filled with tears, pleading for help. She reached out her tiny hand to Makoto, and Makoto did the same. Their fingers were almost touching... they were so close. Then the ground cracked and a huge black cloud rose out. It grew bigger and bigger, swirling around the tiny cringing figure. Suddenly they were being pulled apart. Something was dragging Makoto away from the girl. She struggled to reach her, fighting with all her might. "Mommy!" The tiny girl cried, tears running down her face. "Mommy! Come back! Mommy!!" "Mommy, mommy...." Makoto snapped back into the reality. She slowly opened her eyes. She was shaking, and dazed. It had been so strange, so real. She couldn?t save her, she had been powerless, and now the little girl was gone. "Mommy..." Mako whispered, the she shook her head and tried to compose herself. "It was just a daydream, it wasn?t real." She tried to reassure herself. "But why am I shaking so much?" She thought wearily. "I feel so weak... so tired...." Slowly she turned and walked down the hallway, uncertain and not knowing what else to do. She went into her bedroom, and silently snapped the door shut behind her, leaving the house dark, and empty.
