And sorry the chapters are so long!! ______________________________________________________________________ "Hello, Princess," Minako said as the princess walk past her and opened the door to the royal gardens. As she opened the door she inhaled the sweet smell of the roses that was wafting in the warm night air. She walked down the stone path and sat down on her favorite wooden bench that was placed under a tall tree. "Pssssst, Usagi!" came a voice. The princess jumped and turned around quickly. "Who's there!?" She demanded. A shadow rose up from behind the bushes. "It's me, my sweet odanga atama," the shadow said, stepping into the light. "Mamo-chan!" she shouted, running into his open arms. "How long have you been here?" She looked into his big blue eyes and kissed him. "About an hour. Where have you been?" he asked, breaking the kiss. "I'm sorry; I was napping," she replied, walking back over to the bench. "What is Mamoru doing here?" Luna whispered to Artemis, looking at the couple. "I'm not sure, Luna. I thought they weren't allowed to see each other anymore," Artemis whispered back. "You're right, Artemis. Their parents decided they couldn't see each other because of the age difference. He's 17 and she's 14, you know," Luna stated. "Do you think we ought to tell someone?" "Let's leave them be, Luna. Come on, they're just kids. Let's go," Artemis said, starting back towards the palace. "Yes. I suppose you're right," Luna turned around and followed Artemis back inside. "Hey, guys!" Rei exclaimed, seeing the two cats walk in. "What's up?" "Nothing much, Rei-chan," Artemis answered. He walked over to Minako and jumped into her lap, purring. "C'mere, Luna!" Makoto said, motioning for her to come. "How are you?" She smiled. "Oh, I'm quite alright, Mako-chan," Luna told her, then looked around. "Hi there, Ami-chan" she greeted. Ami looked up from her book, she was studying Bio-Physics II, "Oh, hello, Luna. Why aren't you with Usagi? Where *is* Usagi?" "She's out in the garden, taking a walk," Luna answered. It was really hard for her to keep a secret. She felt bad for lying to them. "Well, goodnight, girls," Artemis said, jumping out of Minako's lap and heading up the stairs. "Yes, goodnight. See you in the morning," Luna added, following Artemis before she blurted anything out. ***** Princess Serenity awoke to the sound of birds chirping. 'Huh? Where am I?' she asked herself. Then she remembered. She got up from the ground, but before she left, something caught her eye. 'What's that?' she thought, picking it up and studying it. 'It's a locket. Mamo-chan must have must have left it for me.' She opened it up and it played a sweet melody. She listened for a minute, then shut the lid and brushed off her night gown. She silently tip-toed up to her chamber and shut the door behind her. She turned around and saw Luna sitting on her bed. "Usagi! Where have you been?" Luna yelled. "And why was Mamoru here?" "Shhh, Luna, you're gunna wake up the whole kingdom!" Princess Serenity replied, hushing the black cat. "Um, Mamoru? Oh, yeah, he just came for one last good-bye. How did you know he was here? Were you spying on me!?" "No, I wasn't spying on you! Artemis and I saw you and him kissing in the garden last night," Luna answered. Princess Serenity's face turned pale. "Don't worry, Usagi, I didn't tell anyone. Now, what is that in your hand?" "This?" Princess Serenity asked, looking down at the locket in her hand. "Mamoru gave it to me. Isn't it beautiful?" She held the shiny piece of gold jewelry up to her heart. "And thanks for not telling anyone that he was here. If anyone would have found out he were here, especially Mum or Dad, they would have killed me!" She gave Luna a small kiss on her forehead, where he crescent moon was. Then she got dressed. She flipped through all the dresses in her closet, then picked a nice navy blue summer one with daisies on it. It was nice, but comfortable. There were to be no special occasions today; she only had to wear her very fancy dresses on special occasions. Besides, she *had* to wear a dress. She was told it was "unprincess-like" not to. "And, Usagi. Please use the correct way of speaking. No 'gunna's'!" Luna told her athoritivly. "Yes, Luna," Princess Serenity answered, rolling her eyes. She then left her room and began descending the marble steps. "Mum, breakfast smells great!" Princess Serenity exclaimed, walking into the dining area. She sat down in her usual seat and awaited the serving of breakfast. "Usagi, dear, you're late this morning. Care to give me an explanation?" Queen Serenity asked, passing her daughter the eggs. "I was restless last night, so I went for a walk in the garden. I didn't get in until midnight," Usagi lied, but not showing that she was at all. She was very skilled at this by now. "Are you alright now, my daughter?" Queen Serenity asked. She was a little concerned, but her daughter currently seemed perfectly fine. "Yes, Mum, I'm fine now," she said, gulping down a mouthful of eggs. She was still lying, she had this little pang in her stomach that she didn't understand. "That's go-" Queen Serenity was cut off my her daughter. "May I please be excused from the table?" Princess Serenity asked, gripping her stomach with both hands. "Yes, go," Queen Serenity looked alarmed as she watched her daughter run down the corridor towards the washroom. "Minako, could you please go and see if the princess will be alright?" Minako got up from the table and hurriedly walked after the princess. She walked up to the washroom door and knocked. "Princess Serenity, are you going to be okay in there?" Minako asked. There was no answer. "Princess Serenity? Usagi?" She called. Then she heard someone cough from within. "Minako, is that you?" Princess Serenity asked from inside. "Yes, it's me, Usagi," Minako answered. "Is there anything I can do for you?" "No, I'm fine. I'm most likely just coming down with something," Princess Serenity replied, unlatching the lock and walking out of the washroom. She gave Minako a weak smile and then made her way back to the table. "Usagi, what's wrong?" her mother asked, her face was fully of worry. Princess Serenity took her seat once again. "Nothing, Mother. I'm probably just coming down with something. May I be excused to my chamber? I'm a bit tired," Princess Serenity explained, yawning. Her mother dismissed her with a gesture of her hand and the princess got up to exit the room. "Would you like anyone to accompany you, dear?" Queen Serenity asked, motioning towards the four scouts sitting at the table. "No thank you, Mother. I'll be able to manage with just Luna," Princess Serenity said, exiting the dining area and rushing up the large marble steps to her chamber. "Luna, I don't feel so good!" Princess Serenity told the black cat purched atop her bed. Princess Serenity made a gagging sound and ran towards the washroom that was connected to her chamber by an archway. A few minutes later, when she finally came out, she walked over to her bed and sat down. "Luna, what's wrong with me? Why am I so sick?" she asked, looking over towards her guardian. Luna just shook her head. "I really don't know, Usagi," the black cat finally answered. "Oh, thanks, Luna! You're a big help!" Princess Serenity replied sarcastically. "Why don't you just rest?" Luna offered, tugging at the sheets on her bed. "Yeah, maybe you're right," Princess Serenity said, climbing into bed. Before long she was sound asleep. From the look on her face she was having a great dream. ***** "Oh, Mamo-chan, I love you so much," Princess Serenity whispered in her sleep. A few tears trickled down her cheeks, falling on her pillow. "What!? Where are you going!? No, Mamo-chan, don't leave me!" She shot up from her sleep, panicked. She looked over to her clock. "5:30, almost supper," she whispered to herself. She looked around; there was no sign of Luna. She then got up from her bed and lifted the mattress, taking out her small leather diary and a pencil. She thought a minute, then began to write. Dear Diary, For some reason I feel so sick, but I'm not sure what it is. I asked Luna, but she didn't know either. Do you know why I feel so sick? I hope it's just a cold. Mamo-chan met me in the garden last night, just like he promised Well, I better get going, I think I hear Luna coming to check on me. See you tomorrow. Love, Usagi She tucked the book back under her mattress and laid back down in her bed. "Usagi, are you up yet?" Luna whispered, sticking her head in the door and peering around the room. "Yes, Luna, I'm awake," Princess Serenity answered, sitting up. "Is supper ready yet?" "Yes, it is. We're all awaiting your arrival at the table so me may begin," Luna told her, walking into the room. "Okay, I'm coming," Princess Serenity replied, getting up from her bed and walking to her closet. She took another dress out of her closet, for the one she had slept in was all wrinkled. She then took out a pair of house shoes and slipped them onto her feet. She quickly descended the marble staircase; she was extremely hungry and hadn't eaten sense her mouthful of eggs at breakfast, and that had been quite a while ago. "Good morning, Usagi," Rei said sarcastically, smiling at her. "It's hardly morning, Rei-chan," Princess Serenity replied, smiling in return. Then she made a gesture towards the bay window at her right, proving her point. The light from the earth was now fading and it would soon be dark. After devouring her dinner she stepped out into the garden, inhaling the fresh night air. She walked over to a nice soft spot on the grass and laid down, gazing up at the millions of stars that shone brilliantly in the velvet night sky. 'They're so beautiful,' she thought, looking up at all the constellations. She then closed her eyes and took a deep breath, once again inhaling the night air. 'I wish Mamo-chan were here with me, it would be so romantic.' "It's beautiful, isn't it?" someone asked from behind her. Princess Serenity turned around and saw Ami. "Mind if I join you?" "No, go ahead, Ami-chan," Princess Serenity replied. Ami took a seat next to her and stared up at the sky. "There's the big dipper," Ami pointed out, extending a finger towards the dark sky, then she glanced over at the princess. "Usagi, you still look tired, you ought to go back up to bed." She was too late, though. Princess Serenity had already fallen fast asleep. "Brawnson," Ami whispered to the guard as she silently walked inside. "Yes, Ms. Ami?" he asked, looking over to her. "Princess Serenity is asleep out there on the grass. Could you please go get her and take he to her chamber?" Ami replied, walking down the hall towards the room where the other scouts were at. Brawnson nodded, then opened the door and walked down the path. He saw Princess Serenity curled up on the grass, so he picked her up and carried her to her chamber. He then laid her down and covered her up; silently walking out of the room and shutting the door behind him afterwards. ~end part 2~ Oooo!! I bet you're wondering what's wrong with Usagi, eh?
