De de de dum dum de dum dum!" Princess Serenity hummed as she walked into the dining area. "Hello, everyone!" she announced cheerfully, taking her normal seat. She felt great. She finally knew what had been wrong with her just five short months ago. "We seem happy today, now don't we?" Makoto asked with a smile, noticing Princess Serenity's good mood. "And what was that tune you were humming? It sounded very pretty." "Yeah, I'm in a great mood today!" Princess Serenity told her. "That tune? Oh, it's from a song I heard on the radio." She hadn't really heard it on the radio, it was the tune her locket played. "Mum, what's that surprise you were telling me about?" she asked, looking at her mother who was seated at the other end of the table, next to her father. She hoped it would be her Mamo-chan. Had her parents finally agreed to let her see him again? Breakfast was passed around and Princess Serenity loaded her plate with all sorts of food. "I'm so hungry!" she said, then picked up a fork and started shoveling food into her mouth. "Usagi, please slow down. You're going to choke!" her mother insisted. She sighed and then started again, "Anyway, the surprise I was telling you about is about a nice young man by the name of Seiya. He's one of the three Sailor Star Lights." "Yes, mother, go on," Princess Serenity was still shoveling food into her mouth. "He would like to know," she began again, "if you would like to take his hand in marriage. Will you except?" The queen flashed a pleasant smile towards her daughter. Princess Serenity started to choke. She grabbed her milk and swallowed the clump of food that had gotten lodged in her throat upon hearing the news. "Mother!" Queen Serenity was caught off guard and startled when her daughter shouted her name. "I don't even know this boy, much less, love him!" Princess Serenity argued. "And I refuse to marry anyone I don't love!" "You will meet him tonight, at the royal masquerade ball. He'll be wearing a business suit and, of course, a mask. You must wear one of your best gowns, and you have no need to hide your beautiful face under a mask," Queen Serenity told her calmly, yet sternly. "Yes, mother," Princess Serenity mumbled angrily. Her mood changing from happy to depressed in a matter of seconds. "You all right?" Makoto asked, watching the smile on Princess Serenity's face fade. "Yes, Mako-chan, I'm fine," Princess Serenity answered, wiping her face with a napkin. She excused herself from the table and walked up to her chamber. Once in her room she opened up a dresser drawer and took out a pencil and a piece of paper. 'Hm, how should I start this?' she asked herself silently. She sat there at her desk for a moment and then began to write. My Dearest Mamo-chan, Hello, my sweet, how are you? I am good. Will you be able to sneak out to come to the royal masquerade ball tonight? My darling, I have good news and bad news. Which would you like to hear first? I'll tell you the bad news. Mother wants me to marry some boy named Seiya! I don't want to, I told her so, she won't listen. She told me that although I am 14, I should start to think of marriage for when I am 16. But I have thought of marriage; I want to marry you! Now all that's left is the good news. I at least hope it's good news to you, that is. It took me a while to get used to the idea, but now I'm quite happy. Anyway, here's the news, I'm..... I'm..... I'm... Oh, it's so hard to say it!! I haven't told anyone yet, not even Luna. I thought that you should be the first to know. Well, it all started about five moths ago, right after you visited me. I wasn't feeling too good, and now I know why. Mamo-chan, I have to see you! I miss you terribly! Before I go, I shall tell you the news. You are you be a father. Yes, it is true, I am pregnant. I must go now, kisses. Love, Usagi PS. I love you..... She stuffed the letter into an envelope and addressed it to 'Prince Endymion'. She didn't want to raise any suspicions. "Luna!" she called, then patiently waited for the cat's arrival. "Yes, Usagi?" Luna asked, walking into the room. "Take this letter to the mail office, it is the be sent out immediately," Princess Serenity ordered, putting the letter into the cat's mouth. "And try not to slobber all over it. Good-bye, now." Luna rolled her eyes and scampered out of the room. Once Luna was down the stairs Usagi laid down on her bed and closed her eyes. After all, she wanted to be well rested for the masquerade ball tonight. It wasn't until eleven o'clock tonight, so she had plenty of time. She yawned and then fell asleep. ~end part 3~ Wow! Now you finally know what's wrong with Usagi!! But what'll happen when her mom finds out? Will her mom find out? What about Luna? How will Mamoru react? So many questions so far unanswered. A few will be answered in the next chapter, if not all. Stay tuned until next week!! ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
