Sailor Moon Quasar: A Plutonian Girl and Her Dog Chibi-Mamoru Darien Chiba Chapter 1 Event 1B: Enter Cereberus After a time, my blindfold is removed and I find myself in the back yard with Sharon standing behind me and a puppy being accompanied by Kerwin on a leash. I fall into puppy love with the puppy as soon as I could get a good look at him. I scoop up the puppy into my arms and the puppy licks me in the face repeatedly. "Whoa, stop that," I giggled at the puppy. "You need a name, boy." "You know, Claribel, that if you raise him right, he will prove to be an invaluable companion to you," Kerwin said of the puppy. "Are you sure you're up to the task?" Sharon asked me. "Of course!!" I crowed. "I'll walk him, feed him, water him, and give him tons of love!!! But what to name him . . ." "How about Charon?" Sharon suggested. "Mama!!" I objected. "That's an awful name!!!" The puppy growls at Sharon in agreement. Imagine naming a dog after the skeleton who ferried dead souls across the River of Styx!!!! "Claribel, before I give out my suggestion, what relationship do you want with your puppy?" Kerwin asked. "I want him to be like an assistant to me, Papa," I replied, "much like Cereberus helps Pluto by not letting the souls of the dead escape Hades once Charon has ferried them in. Hey, that's a good name for him. Cereberus. . ." I giggle at the sound of the name and Cereberus barks his approval. "So it's settled, then," Kerwin decided. "Uh oh, it's past your bedtime, Claribel. Let's put Cereberus back in his pen and we'll get you washed up for bed." "Papa, can't I sleep with you and Mama?" I begged Kerwin. Sharon groans in annoyance. "Please?" "No, you may not," Sharon replied glacially. "Claribel, when are you going to realize that bedding down with us every night will not help you get over your fear of being alone?" "You know, Sharon; a little kindness goes a long way," Kerwin chided. "Although I wouldn't have said it *exactly* like that, your mother is right, Claribel. We're not doing you any favors by letting you bed down with us." "But, Papa . . .," I began. "NO!!!" Sharon and Kerwin barked at me. "Mama!!! Papa!!!" I whined. With a snort, Kerwin folds his arms and stares down at me with his sunglasses off. Sharon puts her hands on her hips and gives me an icy glare. I don't know if I want to push my luck here. "Umm . . ., I think I should go in the house, wash up, and get into bed before I get my bottom smacked."
