Event 6D: What's Wrong With Claribel? "So, Dr. Mizuno, is whatever's wrong with Claribel serious?" Kerwin asked Amy. "Yes, Mr. Del Trabajador, it is very serious," Amy sighed as she fills out some paperwork. "I can't believe that the nurse and doctor that checked Claribel over the first time missed the early signs of this appendicitis!!! I want Claribel in the hospital as soon as you can. Is your stomach still hurting you, Claribel?" "Yeah, Dr. Mizuno," I groaned. I'm in too much pain to be angry over what Amy is allegedly doing to Hermione. Amy leaves and comes back with a needle full of medicine which she jabs in my stomach. "Dr. Mizuno, what's the hospital like? I'm scared." "Yeah, I know how it is, Claribel," Amy agreed. "But don't worry; the doctors and the nurses there are very good at what they do. They'll take good care of you." "But I'll miss my mama and papa," I protested. "I don't want to go!!" "Too bad; you were never given that choice," Sharon told me. "If the bacteria in your appendix were to ever escape, who knows what could happen to you." I glare at Sharon. How could I have been born of such a heartless woman? Sharon picks me up and whispers in my ear, "I'm sorry, Claribel; tact is not one of my strong points. I know you're scared; so are your father and I. I love you, Claribel; I don't want anything to happen to you." "Ummm . . . I'll leave you guys alone," Amy stammered as she leaves the room. "There is something rotten in the state of Denmark as far as Amy goes," Kerwin said. "I learned from my workers that Dr. Mizuno had exhibited this very same reaction whenever their kids were scared to go to the hospital." "Kerwin, you don't think that . . ." Sharon wanted to confirm. "Yes, I sure do, Sharon," Kerwin answered. "But that's another matter to be dealt with later. Claribel has an operation to get ready for."
