DiSCLaiMeR: none of my stories have owned Characters in which I may call my own. Most characters, Such as Sailormoon and her senshi, are owned and created by Takeuchi Naoko. I claim no ownership to the characters in any of my writings. Don't sue me. The phone began ringing. It was seven o'clock in the Aino home. Minako was upstairs in her room getting ready. It was Friday. She and George were going to the movies; "Black Slayer" was the title of this one, and while Minako had her doubts, George insisted it would be good. The phone kept ringing; she forgot she was home alone, so Aino Minako ran across the room to retreive it and quiet its upset calls: "Look Usagi, I told you, you can't come along! I said I'll bring you home some popcorn!" She sounded irritated, but it was only mock irritation; nothing could bother her when George was involved. And besides, Usagi was one of her best friends. "Um. Mina-chan?" The voice began unsteadily. She knew immediatly who it was on the other end. And it wasn't Usagi. "George; what's wrong?" She began trembling in fear. George had never called before a date. Something must be up. Maybe he was calling their relation off.... NO! Her mind insisted firmly, George isn't dishonest. Something is up, that's all. "Mina.... I don't think I can make it tonight." Flatout, he said it. It had taken him courage to say that; not because he was afraid of Mina-chan, oh no, quite the opposite. He was afraid to say it because he loved her and didn't want to hurt her. He waited to hear Minako's response. Minutes past, but none came. He himself grew frightened. He hoped he didn't make her too mad. He had his mission, and he had to go now. Minako or no Minako. Drauston's orders. And one didn't disobey him. Ojka was a quite a good example of the results. She held her breath. This had caught her off guard. "You can't make it?" Her voice so suddenly that he jumped. "No. Something suddenly came up." He paused a moment, "I'm sorry. I couldn't get out of it." That was true; he wasn't lying. "Oh..." her voice trailed off. She shouldn't be too disappointed. There'd be more chances to see better movies that "Black Slayer", "George, it's okay... I understand, I think." "Thanks Minako. I'll make it up to you. I promise." He wen to say more, but before his mouth had even opened again, she hung up the phone softly, and it clicked in George's ear like a final farewell. He left the payphone booth and toodled off, shoulders slumping. Ojka; she had been stupid. He was better and would defeat those pesky Senshi. He gripped the spiritcrystal tightly in his hand as he left the scene quickly. After he defeated them, he could have Minako for always. He really was sorry he had to leave Minako hanging, but it felt better that he hadn't stood her up. He would make it up to her, buy her a dozen of those yellow roses she had grown fond of. Meanwhile, Drauston had other plans for Jeoj. ----- The door opened suddenly, and Rei turned around in surprise. She looked up from the great fire in which she had been praying, and was so startled she almost whacked off her friend's head. "Oh, hi.. You scared me. I didn't know you were on your way ov-" It smacked Rei hard against her face; "Quiet, I have no time for such ignorance. Now don't squirm and this won't hurt as much." Rei looked up again, dazed, "What's the matter?" She questioned. She tried to regain footing when it struck her again, harder than Rei believed such a person could. "I said don't move." It replied cooly. It went to crush Rei again, yet she rolled away and It struck the wall instead, leaving a large gash in the plaster, bits of wall flying across the room. "You're not-" Rei began as she pulled out a scroll, but It striked towards Rei again, scoring a victory. The shinto priestess flew across the floor, unconscious, blood trickling from her lips and nose. The red blended in with her temple robe. It smiled evily. "What'd you do to... her..." Rei mumbled as she slipped into sleep. "I killed her," It grinned again, and this time, the straight white teeth which had inhabited the real girl's mouth, had turned yellow and rotted. They were uneven, and a few were even missing. The breath smelled so horrible that Rei, even in her unconscious state, wrinkled her nose in disgust. It kneeled over the girl and carefully inserted a small virus into Rei's bloodstream. A small gash appeared on her arm, and the virus was produced from It's fingers like magic. The original owner knew better though. That shadow was a virus; plucking itself apart one strand at a time. Upon Rei's forehead, the usual Mars insignia was replaced by a new one; the sign of Shi. The Mars symbol slowly faded out in defeat, and the new one glowed brightly as it took over. It blinked a few times, as if getting used to the body, then flickered out. Again It smiled, it had already gotten to two of the girls; and it was apparent that the original owner of this body was in pain. leave my friend alone you fucked up shadow, she cried desperatly, yet the shadow shook her away, and she receeded to the shadows. "Sorry, I'm having too much fun to quit now!" It chuckled and Rei groaned from her troubled the sleep. Then as quickly as the shadow had entered the Hiwako shrine, it exited, leaving Rei Hino on the ground, unconscious. "Simple and quick," she muttered as she ran off. ----- ***dream/memory*** "Faster, Usagi! Push me faster! I wanna touch the clouds!" The little girl giggled as she clutched the linked chain to the swing. Her laughter floated across the playground in a gesture of true happiness. ChibiUsa felt her spirits soar higher with each shove from Usagi. Usagi gave the swing a harder push as it returned back to her like a faithful dog. She smiled, her white straight teeth glowing next to her tanned skin. ChibiUsa giggled again, her voice blending in with nature. She sounded so happy and carefree. Such young innocence shouldn't be forced to kill. "Look, Usagi!!" The girl screamed from above the heavens, "I'm FLYING! I'm touching the clouds!!" Usagi chuckled softly. ChibiUsa radiated of happiness. It filled her heart with pleasure, and she felt the swelling grow larger with each push. ChibiUsa laughed again; her voice carried softly across the playground, "I wanna Fly!" Usagi pushed again; ChibiUsa swung in the air; she hoped this would never end. *** later *** The darkness seeped up upon the two girls as they swung higher and higher towards the sky. They sang and giggled in their joy, and the shadow leered harder and harder. Neither noticed until it was upon them. It scared Usagi so bad, she pushed the swing too hard, and ChibiUsa flew from the seat, landed in the dirt. The dust gathered around her and she cried in surprise and fear, as the pain jolted through her body. "USAGI?!?!!? What'd you do that for?" Tears streamed down her face in confusion. Blood swelled on her knees and her ripped skirt floated softly. Her face was scruched up as she tried to understand. As she went to question Usagi again, her voice called out stonily, in fear also. "ChibiUsa, call the senshi. And run away. RUN AWAY, DON'T LET IT GET YOU!" Usagi now held a stray stick in her hand, and waved it above the sinister shadow, "Stay away, you monster. Stay away." She threatened, but the shadow didn't seem worried. ChibUsa heard Usagi praying. ChibiUsa, meanwhile, crouched by the slide, her communicator wristwatch beeping furiously. Makoto answered her moments later. Her serious face met ChibiUsa's confused one, and she immediatly began questioning her. "ChibiUsa? What's wrong? Where's Usagi?" Her face flexed from stern to worried, and her eyes widened when she heard. "There's something wrong!" She cried. Her mousy voice squeeked out fear in every breath. "Usagi said get you guys down here! She said--" "All right, ChibiUsa, you and Usagi keep safe. We'll be there soon." The link was closed and ChibiUsa stared at the black screen of the watch. She thought about what was going on, and she decided they would need her too. After all, it was her destiny, too, to fight. She henshined under the slide where she had crouched while calling the senshi. Sailormoon, on the other hand, confronted the shadow warrior, lunging her tiara at it every chance she got. The tiara went threw the shadow, not at all hurting it every single time, as if it was invisible or something. "Why the hell can't I hit you," she mumbled, barely evading one of the shadow's attacks. It burned the edges of her hair, the smell of smoke immediately stinging her nostrils. From Sailormoon's left, a sharp stream of water exploded towards the shadow Creature. The icy water began freezing rapidly around the monster. Sailormoon shivered from the force and temperature. "Mercury, you're here!" The petite warrior appeared from a treetop, wiping moisture from her hands, "And not a moment too soon, so I examine." She gave a sly smile as she leaped down next to the leader, "well, are you prepared to bust that beep?" Usagi smiled in relief and nodded her head vigorously. The smile lingered on her face for a moment before she gave a thoughtful worried look, "My tiara, it doesn't work, Sailormercury." "It shouldn't work on a shadow, goober," Sailormercury laughed softly. When Minako gets here, she should be able to get it." Mercury strapped on her visor, "but until then, let me analyze it." From the shadow's icy prison, Usagi could hear it swearing at them, demanding freedom. She sighed again. Hopefully it would be gone soon. She was suddenly glad for such responsible friends. "Is that it? That's the monster?" It was Sailorjupiter, Sailormars, and Sailorvenus. They appeared from various trees, looks of determination planted on their faces. "Hai," Sailormoon shouted back, "Venus, try your attack!" "Gotcha!" Sailorvenus leaped to the top of the swing set and pooled her energy together, "Venuuuuuuuuus, Love-Me--" A burst of pink energy whipped past Sailorvenus towards the shadow's imprisonment before she could utter another word. Her hair flew around madly as she lost the energy, and shock registered on her face, "What the beep was that?" "Sorry, Sailorvenus, I forgot," Sailorchibimoon looked up shyly and shamefully. The pink aurora still held around her, and she looked like a fairie for a moment, all wild and pink, her hair wispy and loose around her head. "Oh, Usa, that's okay. You go right ahead. Attack the beep out of that monster. Get it for what it's worth." She gave a warm smile which beamed down on the little warrior, "You're awfully strong, and you need to harness your powers to their most." Sailormercury's face told otherwise, "Sailorchibimoon! Your attacks won't affect the shadow!! It only freed him from the icy imprisonment we held him in! Now we have to trap it again! Go, senshi!" Sailorchibimoon did a facefault, and the color drained from her cheeks, "uh oh," she whispered softly, "I didn't mean to." The ice wall shattered as it collided with the pink beam, and a million shards of cold flew around the park, embedding themselves in the senshi, the ground, playground equipment. The senshi shrieked and crossed their arms in front of them in protection. "Watch it senshi," Sailormars warned, "this is gonna hurt like beep!" The glasslike shards embedded into various objects quite quickly until there were no more. The ice jail had disappeared along with the devious shadow in the blink of an eye. They picked themselves up from the ground, wiping the ice from their wounded bodies. They were groaning in pain as they tried to pull fragments from their skin without luck. "Beep, Sailormercury," Sailormoon said in irritation, "How the beep do you conjure up such wicked storms?" Fifteen minutes later, five ice-free, bloody senshi regained footing. The five of them surveyed the area cautiously, looking for signs of the monster, "Where's Sailorchibimoon," Sailorjupiter looked around in alarm, "I don't see her anywhere... do you, guys?" The other's eyes widened in fear; ChibiMoon was not around. They shook their heads, "No, I don't see her any where..." They peered under slides and swings, looked in bushes and trees. Sailorchibimoon was nowhere to be found. The senshi collapsed, exhausted from the day's battle. They lay on the grass, recollecting themselves, gasping for breath, "What do we do, you guys? We just can't leave ChibiUsa out here by herself." They again nodded, tired eyes peering sadly from dead eyesockets, "We'll look after our break, we won't leave her. I'm too exhausted to move." It was then a hideous voice shattered their conversation. An eerie voice which chilled them to the core, "Heeheeheehahahaha, you won't find your little fighter down there!" They knew at once what it was; the shadow creature. "Where's Sailorchibimoon?" Sailormoon demanded, pounding her fist into her hand, "Tell us or we'll waste you!" "My, my, calm down, dear Ms. Moon. Your little friend is right here." They looked up to see Chibimoon bound and gagged, floating on the gruesome shadow like a cloud. She was asleep, probably worn out from the battle, and breathing softly. The shadow was grinning spitefully. "You let her down!" It was Sailorjupiter, "you have no right to steal a little kid!!!" Her brows were furrowed in anger, "If you harm one hair on her head, I swear I'll kill you," she warned furiously. "My, my, you are all over-reacting. I didn't steal your little sister, here. I'm only borrowing her..." "Yea right!" The fiery warrior stepped up boldly, "Fire Ignite!" A jet of burning flames shot towards the shadow like a bird. The shadow dodged it, ChibiUsa on its back still. She rolled fowardly dangerously and nearly fell from the shadow to the ground. "You guys can't attack," Sailormercury announced, "if we do, we'll hurt Chibimoon, too!" "So what do we do, Einstein?" The other four senshi looked at her curiosly with irritation. They couldn't let Chibimoon stay prisoner either. "Devise a plan?" Mercury offered. The others nodded and huddled in a group. ----- Sailorjupiter leaped in front of the sky towards the shadow, "Supreme Thunder!" The flash of lightening struck in front of her, spitting and swearing, away from the shadow, yet the creature dodged away any ways as the heat struck deathly not five feet in front of it. "Fire Ignite!" As the shadow dodged the lightening, Sailormars flung a burst of fire in front of the shadow again, missing it purpously. The shadow fled in yet another direction. "Stop, you pests, or I'll drop your baby!" There was a hint of worry in its voice, worry and fear. The senshi paid no heed to it, "Venus Love-me Chain!" The heart-pitted chain hurdled itself wilding in front of the shadow, dancing around it in raging fury, yet it missed just the same. Purpously. "Shine Aqua..." The stream of water burst forward again, and this time, it headed straight for the shadow. As the icy water flung towards Chibimoon and the shadow, Sailormoon retrieved the crystal from her fingers, "All right, this has gone on long enough! I won't let you hurt the people I love, even if it leads to my own downfall! I will not let you triumph!" With that she gave a cry as she leaped from the top of the slide, "Moon Crystal Power!"
