"speak" {{thought}} **dream** ::mental:: ----------------------------------------------------- Sailor Moon Elementals by Clabrieal Chapter 6: Dark Night ----------------------- Darien jumped out of his car, barely remembering to shut it off first. He ran toward the river, just in time to see Serena stop crying and fall into a deep sleep. Nic, who seemed to be nodding off herself, noticed Darien and looked instantly relieved to see him. "Maybe we should take her to your place?" asked Nic, passing Serena off to Darien. They silently walked to Darien's car and drove to his apartment. "Bye, bro," said Nic as she walked out the door, closing it silently behind her. Darien sighed. Nic had explained everything to him, but how could he explain it to Serena? {{What am I going to do?}} Darien looked down and Serena, watching her chest rise and fall in rythem with her light breathing. Darien smiled and sat on the bed next to her, drifting off... Trinity gazed out into space "Marble, how long has it been?" "Long enough, your Majesty," said a soft but firm voice. "Then, please..." There was the sound of wind rustling through trees, and again moments later. A pale hand, holding something wrapped in white silk, extended toward the queen. She took the package and delicately unwrapped it. It looked like the Cresent Moon Wand, except it was white where the wand was pink, and instead of a golden moon was a silver eight-pointed star. Set in the middle of the star was a perfect diamond, purple in hue. Trinity held the diamond to the symbol on her forehead. The staff silently extended, becoming as long as that of Pluto's. The diamond now let off a pale glow that grew with each passing moment. As she was walking home, Nic was struck with a terrible headache. She held her head and fell to her knees on the soft grass. "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" she screamed, falling over and silent. She lay in the tall grass, barely breathing, writhing in pain. Her last hope before she slipped into a dreamless sleep was that someone would find her before the pain killed her. Darien was abruptly jarred from his sleep. Serena was still asleep, but her face seemed contorted in pain. She moaned in agony and writhed about on the bed. Darien's eyes widened before a seering pain took him over. He slupmed back onto the bed and laid still. Trinity ripped the staff off her forehead, breathing hard. She started to fall backwards but was caught gingerly by a pair of strong arms. The long arms belonged to a a tall, thin, feminine figure. She had long silvery hair and was wearing a pale grey uniform that resembled one of the Negaverse's Generals'. It was trimmed in white. Her grey eyes stood out from the pale pigment of her skin. A single tear dared to fall from her eye. {{Oh, sister! What ever happened to us?}} Jade ignored that voice at the back of her head and continued with her work. "There! Finished!" she exclaimed, holding up a black orb. It had intricate carvings that Jade had painstakingly crafted for the last eight hours. The markings began to glow and Jade set the orb on a golden stand. "Soon we will see who's more powerful..." Jade said, and started to laugh evily. She was silent after hearing something THUMP against her wall. "Sister, go to bed!" she heard the muffled voice of her brother through the wall. She sighed. ***************************************************************************** Darien woke up, surrounded by darkness. Two figures wearing dark robes stood in front of him. They spoke in solmen voices, chanting a prophecy. "Angels fallen, again will rise, Deep dreamless sleep they will provide, Swords in play, a deadly dance, Do not try to take the chance, Where wings once were, scars reveal, Who they are, fate with a seal, Perhaps death, perhaps life, Only time will show the right." The figures pulled back their hoods. ***************************************************************************** Darien woke up in a cold sweat. He quickly looked at Serena. She was still tossing and turning. She turned onto her stomach. The back of her shirt had been pushed up to her neck. In the pale moonlight, Darien could almost make out two long scars down her shoulder blades. Her ran to the door of his apartment, grabing his jaket on the way. He needed some air. Hard breathing....and the faint beating of a heart. That was what she could hear. She soon realized both sounds were hers. Pain. Another thought. On her back, especialy. Then footsteps, they sped up, headed toward her. Run, hide. More thoughts. Thoughts. Not actions. Her body was too weak. She would just lay there for awhile. Then another heartbeat came into her hearing range. Soothing sounds. She couldn't understand words, she knew someone was talking. To her, maybe. She didn't hear the words, but knew the tone, the intentions. She was glad she kept laying there. Rachel and Marie sat in the back of the latter's father's car. They were laughing and talking. "I can't wait to see that new movie!" exclaimed Marie, looking out the car window. "I can't believe your dad agreed to take us!" said Rachel smiling. For a faint moment, she wished her bum of a dad hadn't left her and her mother alone. Hadn't let her mother O.D. and die. But she quickly dismissed it and resumed talking to Marie about the supposedly super-cute actor in the newly-released movie. They were so busy laughing, they didn't notice the oncoming car... "Yes. Okay. I will. Be there as fast as I can. Bye." Raye hung up the phone. She spoke into her communicater. "Guys, get to the hospital as fast as you can!" she yelled into it, holding back tears that wouldn't come. She called up Michelle, since Raye had no other way of reaching her. "Hello?" came the voice of Michelle. "Michelle," said Raye, with hints of fear and sadness, perhaps panic, in her voice. "Raye? What's wrong?!" "Your sister and Rachel were in a car accident. They're at the hospital." Silence. Then the phone hung up. Raye put down the phone, and ran toward the hospital, in an unearthly burst of speed. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, this was short, dark, different. Don't know if it really counts as a chapter. It will have to do for now. As always, find me at Clabrieal@aol.com and easy on the flames. Web page is taking longer than expected. I still will open it the first moment of Y2K, though. It probably won't be finished and you probably won't see it for a couple of weeks :-P. I will work on character info. Maybe. I've decided to split the series into three parts; Sailor Moon Elementals, SME:Time Rip, and SME:Arrmegeddon The character info this time will only be for the first part. The info will be for Sailors Element, Water, Fire, Animal, Wind, and Earth, I believe. BTW; how am I at darkfics?
