Beauty Isn?t Everything Prologue Rated PG By cosmic_star Okay, first off, this is a story set in an alternate timeline and is about every ones favorite couple (I hope!) Usagi and Mamoru. It?s a romance, and I?m not quite sure if the other Senshi will make an appearance or not. Oh, Usagi is 18, and Mamoru is 22. Sadly, Sailor Moon does not belong to me (wahhhh!), but Naoko Takechui and a whole lot of other corporate people, who ain?t me! P.S. If anyone out there has heard the new song by 98?, I think it?s called ?We weren?t meant to be?, or ?The Hardest Thing? (I?m not quite sure!). Well, anyway, when I first heard it, I thought it was almost identical to the situation of Usagi and Mamoru?s break up in Sailor Moon R. Does anyone agree with me? Please mail me at cosmic_star@hotmail.com (for comments on this story too! Please) and tell me if you think I?m totally off my rocker, or what. Thanks. *************** It was a glorious day. The sky was blue (with not a cloud in sight, I might add), the birds were singing sweetly, and a gentle breeze blew through trees. It was a perfect day for a celebration. And a celebration it was. Two weeks earlier, a baby girl by the name of Serenity Usagi was born to the Tsukino family-their first child, and today, was her christening ?party? (--Authors note: I use that term very loosely--). Now, ordinarily this would be a fairly normal occurrence in the fair city of Tokyo, but for one small detail. The Tsukino?s were the owners of one of the two largest industries in Japan: Tsukino Computer Parts. With Selene Lunar Tsukino as the Chairwoman, and her husband; Apollo as the CEO. This also made them one of the richest. The only one to rival them in money, were Chiba computers, who received all their parts from the Tsukino?s. This made the two families very good friends, and the two most well known and prominent families in all of Japan. Thus, her christening was no ordinary occasion. Anybody who was anyone attended. This included the Chiba family; Gaea Chiba, CEO of the company, and her husband Asclepius Terrai (lets just say that Gaea kept her maiden name) as the Chairman, as well as their four- year old son, Endymion Mamoru. It was held in a beautiful park, just outside of the city with large trees, a few streams scattered hear and there, and large sparkling pond, containing a floating gazebo at the center, attached to the shore by an elegant white bridge. It was just the place one might expect a wedding or an anniversary party to be held-not a christening. But the Tsukino?s were into huge and fantastical parties, which out did all others (it also helped that the park was on the property of their estate), and this one was no exception. There were three huge tents, in which a buffet style lunch was set out, a place to eat, and a parquet dancing floor, on which guests could waltz to the sweet sounds of the Neptune Symphonet (--Note: I don?t really know if this is a real word, it is just supposed to mean a small symphony--), the most well known one through out the world, with the conductor Aquarai Kaiou, whose own 7 year old daughter: Amphrite Micheru, was so talented in the art of music (she was actually a certified genius in music), that she played the violin for every performance. The baby Serenity was situated underneath a small tent, in a bassinet of frothy pink and white lace. She was the sweetest baby anyone had ever seen. With her large blue-grey eyes, peaches and cream skin, and oddly enough-a shock of silver hair upon her head, she was the epitome of innocence, and child hood purity. Though right now, the case was anything but. Little Serenity was screaming, her face puckered up in a mask of red-faced anger, her lungs screaming for all they were worth. This sound was most unpleasant to a certain four-year-old, whose parents were currently pushing him towards the bassinet, with a gold star-shaped locket in hand, meant for the screaming infant. Little Endymion dug his heels into the ground, and braced his hands against a chair and blatantly refused to move. He stayed like that, until his mother, red faced and embarrassed hissed in his ear. "Endymion Mamoru Chiba. YOU will move at this instant, or else I will personally make sure that you do not get that bike you wanted for your birthday. Am I understood?" He blanched. His mother never took THAT tone, unless she really meant business. "Yes, mother." He gulped, and walked to the bassinet where the screeching infant lay. ?This is no fair!? he thought to himself ?Why do I hafta give a gift to a stupid baby-and a GIRL! EWWWWWWWWW!?. All thoughts of this statement however were immediately banished from his mind, as he peered over the edge of the bassinet, to get a view of the infant. For some strange reason, baby-Serenity quieted instantly at his approach, as if she KNEW that there was something between them, much larger than anyone could grasp. As he stared at the infant, his breath caught in his throat-she was so small, and what? No, he couldn?t think such a thing. Girls were supposed to have cooties. But this girl, well she was just so pretty. Instantly, Endymion shook himself-he couldn?t believe what he just thought-a girl, pretty? No way! He hastily shoved the locket at the infant, whose clutched hand was trying to grasp at his ebony hair, and hurried away. At the exact same moment that Endymion was captured in rapture by little Serenity, the two parents were sharing a moment of exact understanding. For years, they had been searching for a way to merge their two companies. Yet now they finally had a solution. Serenity Tsukino, and Endymion Chiba? By the way the two were behaving, even at their young age, it just might work, with a little push from their parents of course. So, it was decided. Over the years, the two families would have an annual get together, in which, for two weeks they would rent a cottage (a very LARGE cottage, that was) over-looking Kishumi Lake (-- Note: I just made this up-I don?t know much about Japan?s geography--). It was their eternal hope that the two would grow to like each other, and soon enough love would follow. If all went well, they would marry, and when it was time for the two to inherit the company, voila! They would be merged. It was the perfect solution to the problem. Unfortunately, things never work out as planned. *************** So, what do you think? Like it? Hate it?
