Usagi Vampire Slayer  Part 8

        Hey everybody.  I had some extra time this week, so I decided to
send out
Part 8
with part 7.   Well gotta run for now

*Disclaimer*  Since I forgot it in the last chapter, here it is for both.  I
do not own sailor
moon, or any other  work of genius that came from someone else. I only own
those things
that I came up with myself, i.e.: All vampires, and extra characters, like
Aya.

Now without further Ado, here is part 8

        "Attention all passengers.  We will be landing at LAX airport in
about 10
minutes.
Please return to your seats if you haven?t already.  Flight attendants,
prepare for landing."
The pilots intercom shut off, and the buckle up sign came on.  Usagi was
still
asleep on
Mamoru?s shoulder, and he was still reading his book.  He put the book down,
and
proceeded to the long task of waking Usagi.  "Usagi, time to get up."
Mamoru
said,
gently shaking Usagi.
        "Huh?  Mamoru, what is it?"  Asked a groggy Usagi.
"We are about to land in California.  Time to get up, I don?t want to carry
you off the
plane this time." Mamoru said, smiling.
        "All right, all right.  I?ll get up."
"Welcome to Los Angeles National air port.  Thank you for flying AirBrit,
and
we hope
that you enjoy your stay in Los Angeles."
        "Well, lets go, Mamoru.  We gotta get our bags and go meet Minako."

        "USAGI!! Usagi! Over here!!"  Screamed a girl frantically waiving
her arms in
the
air. She wore a pale orange sweater, over khaki slacks.  Her long blond hair
was tied back
in  a half pony tail with an orange ribbon.  Her light blue eyes sparkled
with
excitement at
seeing Usagi after so long.
        ~ That?s Minako for you. ~  Usagi thought to Mamoru as she looked at
his
facial
expression.
"Usagi!" Minako screamed as she ran up to Usagi, enveloping her in a great
hug.
        "Hello, Mina.  Long time no see."  Usagi said, returning the fierce
hug.
"Usagi, it has been like forever!  How are you?" she said, and then
whispered
into Usagi?s
ear, "And who is this with you? He is a hunk!"  Usagi smiled at Mina.
        "I am quite well, Mina.  This *hunk* is Mamoru.  My protector, and
love."
Mamoru came forward and wrapped one arm around Usagi?s waist, extending the
other
for Mina to shake.
"Well it?s about time, girl.  Nice to meet you, Mamoru." Mina said, shaking
his hand.
"Well, come on.  Lets go get your bags, and then we?ll head up to my place."
Mina said,
walking off to the baggage claim.  Usagi smiled at Mamoru, who shook his
head
in slight
disbelief.

        They left the air port, and got into Mina?s jeep.  They drove
through all the
main
streets, finally, after an hour, arriving at Mina?s house in Beverly Hills.
They entered, and
the sight inside caused Mamoru?s head to reel.  The foyer, which they were
now
standing
in was painted to look like something that Michealangelo would have created.
The domed
ceiling was chock full of heavenly angels at play.  Along the walls was not
much different
either.  The walls, at specific intervals, had paintings of Aphrodite placed
on them.  The
paintings were done by different people, reflecting the different styles
they
were painted in.
The floor of the foyer was a colored marble mosaic of the birth of
Aphrodite.
"Wow, this is beautiful." Mamoru finally said.
        "Well, I thought that I should give people who walk into this house
a view
into the
owner.  All this," She said, sweeping her arms around, "reflects me."
"Well, it is quite impressive, Minako.  You did a wonderful job." Mamoru
said,
praisingly.
Mina smiled, and said, "I suppose that I should show you to your rooms.
They
are
upstairs, so follow me."  Mina said, walking out of the foyer, and into the
main rotunda,
and up the large staircase.  Usagi and Mamoru trailed closely behind,
following Mina into
the middle hallway at the top of the stairs.  She stopped at the second door
on the right.
"Usagi, this is your room, and Mamoru, you get the door across from it.  So,
now, I am
going to leave you two so that you can settle in."  Mina said, descending
the
stairs, and
out of their view.  Usagi opened up her door, and Mamoru opened up his, both
going in,
but not shutting the doors.  Usagi took little time in hanging up her things
in the closet of
her room, and choosing a dressy, but casual dress from the selection, she
entered the
bathroom to change.  Mamoru had gotten the same idea, and so after picking
out
a nice
button down shirt, and his black slacks, he entered the bathroom to change.

        Usagi exited the bathroom, and slipping on some black flats, went to
leave
the
room.  Mamoru had just finished changing, and was entering the main room
when
Usagi
walked in.  She was wearing a short, navy blue dress.  The dress started at
her shoulders,
and fell to just below he knees.  Her hair was styled down, and fell in
soft,
thick waves
down her back. ~ She never ceases to amaze me with her beauty. ~ Mamoru
thought to
himself.
        "Ready to rejoin Mina, Mamoru?"  He had chosen a dark green button
down shirt
to go over his black slacks, and he was tying his black suede shoes up.  His
hair shone in
the afternoon light, and his midnight blue eyes sparkled.
"Yea, just let me put on my shoes.  Then we will go back to Minako."  Mamoru
said, and
Usagi nodded, seating herself in a nearby chair so she could wait for him.
        "So what do you think of her?"  Usagi asked.
"I think she is a nice person, a bit energetic, but nice."
        "That?s Mina for you.  She always was an endless source of energy.
She kept
my
mood up when I felt very depressed and angry.  She helped keep me from
destroying
myself and others, and for that, I owe her so much."
"When were you like this?"
        "Many years ago, when I was still filled with hatred for my mother.
Now
don?t get
me wrong, I hate her just as strongly now as I did then, It?s just that
then,
I only felt
hatred, nothing else."
"And you would have destroyed yourself?"
        "I thought it was the only way to stop the pain I felt.  I hurt so
much
inside that I
would have done anything to rid myself of it.  For a while, I took the hurt
out on others,
but even that started to hurt me."  Usagi said, crying softly to herself.
"Oh, Usagi, don?t cry.  Those times are all over now.  I won?t let you hurt
inside
anymore."  Mamoru said, walking over to her, and embracing her crying form.
        "But.........Mamoru......I.........it..........."
"Shh, Usagi.  Don?t speak, just relax and calm down."  Mamoru said, gently
rocking
Usagi in his arms.
        "It?s happening again, Mamoru.  The hatred is back, and I am afraid
that I
can?t
banish it this time."
"What do you mean, Usagi?  I thought it was gone."
        "Remember when I freaked out at Rei?s house? When I started using my
powers,
and started to become the Ultimate Slayer?"
"Yeah, what about it?"
        "That was the evidence of the hatred coming back.  Also when I
changed into
my
vampire form, that was the result of the hatred too.  When we banished it
the
first time, I
was unable to call on my powers, and unable to change."
"So, what do we have to do to banish the hatred again?"
        "You can?t.  I know why it is back, I need the powers that come with
it for
the
final battle.  Until it happens, the powers will keep coming, and I just
hope
that I can
control them."
"I will be here for you, Usagi.  I will help you through whatever you might
need help with.
If you are too weak, I will lend you my strength."
        ~ Thank you......Mamoru ~
~ No problem, Usako. ~
        ~ Usako? What is that? ~  Usagi thought to him, smiling.
~ It?s the name I came up with for you. ~ Mamoru said, sheepishly.  Usagi
smiled at him,
and gave him a hug.
        ~ All right then, Mamo-chan. ~  Usagi thought, grinning.
~ You make me sound like a child! ~ Mamoru thought, laughing.
        ~ Well, If I am your little bunny, then you are my little Mamoru.
Its only
fair. ~
~ Well, how can I argue with you, Usako.  I never had a chance! ~  Mamoru
thought
laughing.  Usagi laughed and got out of the chair, pulling Mamoru up with
her.
        "Come on, Mamo-chan!  We gotta go talk with Mina."  Usagi said,
dragging him
out of the room.
"Slow down, Usako.  Where did all this energy come from all the sudden?"
Mamoru
asked as he was pulled out the door and down the stairs.

        "So, Mina, how has life been?"  Usagi asked, sipping some tea.
"Oh, it?s been all right.  Nothing special here, still as single as ever."
Mina said, giving
Usagi a look that only they understood.  Usagi smiled at her friend in a
comforting way.
        ~ Mamo-chan, whatever you do, don?t mention anything relating to boy
friends
or
anything else like that , OK? ~
~ Sure, Usako.  Mind if I ask why? ~
        ~ Tell you later. ~  Usagi thought to Mamoru.  "So, Mina, you still
modeling?"
Usagi asked.
"Yeah, still modeling.  I don?t need the money, but hey, it?s something to
kill time with.  I
never get bored, and I get paid."
        "That?s the Mina I remember.  Always looking on the bright side."
Usagi
said.
"So how are Rei and Ami, Usagi?"  Mina asked.
        "Ami is fine, a little hurt but fine.  Rei, on the other hand, is no
longer
with us."
Usagi said sadly.
"What do you mean ?no longer with us??"
        "I mean just that.  She gave her life to save me from the killing
affects of
the
hatred.  She gave me her energy so that I could go on living."
"What do you mean, hatred?  I thought we banished that long ago?"
        "It?s back.  Rei was training my mind, and something happened and
suddenly I
was
glowing midnight blue and throwing balls of energy at Mamoru.  I fainted,
and
that?s when
I started to die, my energy having been depleted.  Rei gave me her energy,
and
that?s why
I am here today, and she is not."
"So, is it gone again?"
        "No, but I understand it more.  I am becoming the Ultimate Slayer,
and the
hatred
gives me my powers.  I have taken the crystals," Usagi said, pulling out the
pouch.  "I
need these to control my powers.  Without them as focal points to my powers,
I
would
destroy myself and those around me if I dared use them."  Usagi pulled out
the
Ruby and
Sapphire, and handed them to Mina.
"Rei and Ami?s crystals!  Ami gave you hers?  I thought she told you she
didn?t have
one?"
        "She did tell me that, but when I left her, she gave it to me."
"Wow.  I was certain that she wouldn?t give it to you.  She never wanted her
crystal to be
misused, and at the time, she wasn?t sure that you would treat it
correctly."
        "I think when she saw that I had Rei?s, she decided that I should
have hers.
I also
need yours."  Usagi said matter of factly.
"Why do you need mine, Usagi?"
        "I need them all so that I can call upon the final power.  You know
this as
well as I
do."
"No."
        "No?!"
"Not until you have proved to me that you will handle it correctly.  I do
not
want to be
responsible if you decide to wipe out mankind by using our crystals.  When
you
prove that
you will act correctly, you will have it.  Not until then."
        "What must I do to prove it to you, Mina?"
"I?ll know when you have done it.  Now if you will excuse me, I need to run
off to my
photo shoot.  See ya."  With that, Mina was out the door, and driving down
the
street.
        "I will prove it to her, I?ve got to."  Usagi said with a look of
determination in her
eyes.

        "OK, Mina, now turn to the right *Click*, left *Click*, good.  Now
go over to
the
chair, and sit down with your arms around the back of the chair *Click,
click,click*.
Good, that?s a wrap."  The photographer called as he handed the film to one
of
his
assistants.  Turning back to Mina, the photographer called, "All right,
Mina,
go change
and we?ll see you tomorrow."
        "All right Ken, see you tomorrow."  Mina headed off for the dressing
room.
When
she arrived, she quickly pulled off the outfit she had been wearing, hung it
up, and then
threw on the dress she came in with.  She sat down at the vanity to do her
hair again, and
noticed a box sitting off to the side.  She picked it up to get a closer
look
at it, and read
the address:  "To Usagi Tsukino and Minako Aino
                Not to be opened without both of them present
                Happy St. Patricks Day!
There was no return address.  Mina picked up the package, and ran out to her
jeep, setting
off immediately for home and Usagi.
        She arrived home, and quickly unlocking the front door, and ran into
the
foyer.
"Usagi!! Usagi where are you?"  Mina yelled.
        "Right here, Mina.  What?s up?  Why all the yelling?"  Usagi asked,
descending the
stairs.
"I got this really weird package today, and it said not to open it without
both of us
present.  I rushed home as soon as I found the package."
        "Give me the package, Mina.  I?ll take it to the livingroom, and you
stand
back
while I open it."  Usagi said, taking the package and heading toward the
living room.  She
had Mina sit on the couch, and she walked over to the coffee table opposite
it, setting the
box down.  She took out her pocket knife, and slashed open the tape that
held
the box
shut.  She opened the box, only to find another box, on top of which was
written:
        Almost there little rabbit
        I knew Mina wouldn?t open it
        but she better be watching!
Usagi slashed open the tape that held this box together, and as she opened
this box.......A
jack in the box popped up.  He had the most horrid look on his face, it
looked
as if the
face had been slashed, and was dripping blood.  His clothes were ragged, and
blood
stained.  In his mangled hands he held another small box.
"How horrid!" Exclaimed Mina.  Usagi just grimaced and took the box from the
doll?s
hands.  As the box left the hands, the doll melted into a lump of plastic on
the bottom of
the box.  Closing up the big box, and moving it off the table, Usagi looked
at
the small
package that was in the doll?s hands.  She turned it over, and slowly
started
to undo the
wrapping.  Once it was all gone, there was only a blood red box, and a note.
Usagi set the
box down, and handed the note to Mina, who began to read aloud.
"Well, girls,  Looks as if you braved my horrid little creation, because you
are now reading
my note.  I think you will like my gifts to you, I won?t take offense if you
don?t.  Well
open the box now, and enjoy my little surprise.
        Always,
                The Queen."
"Well open it up, Usagi."
        "All right, hold on, Mina."  Usagi picked up the package once more
and slowly
lifted off the box lid.  Inside, resting on a bed of red satin, was a bloody
bunny foot that
had been dyed  green, and a bird?s head, dyed green also.
"How horrible!"  Exclaimed Mina.  She immediately ran off to the bathroom,
unable to
hold her breakfast down.  Usagi placed the box and the horrible gifts in
with
the melted
jack in the box.  Sealing it up tight, she threw it into the fire place.
After a few minutes of
watching it slowly burn, she turned and left to go check on Mina.
