Time of Corruption by DarkPluto4 DarkPluto4@aol.com Do I really still need to say more? Rating: PG-13 Chapter 6 - The Battle Has Begun Author's Note: See? The action is starting. If you haven't read the previous chapters, READ THEM. And I'm warning you. This one is LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG. It took me *FOREVER* to write!! Rubbing her eyes, Setsuna realized morning had arrived. Jumping out of bed, she dressed and brushed her hair. Today was the day. Today, all she ever dreamed of would begin to come true. For the first time in years, Setsuna felt alive, as though life was not a trap, a cruel snare, but possibly a gift she might be able to enjoy. She went around her house, the house that had been as confining as the Gates, chaining her in. It felt like the house of doom and darkness. And today, she could break free! She didn't need much - just a bit of food, maybe a bit of bandages, water, a blanket, and a change of clothes. And she was ready?ready to change her destiny and future. Preparing to teleport, she felt odd. Normally, the scouts were around her. And they would hold hands. And smile at each other, their eyes showing the clear message "Good luck, everyone! We're going to kick some enemies' butts!" But now, she stood alone, preparing to teleport to another galaxy where a group of Sailors would now await her?her who used to be one of them. And they would clash and fight to death. And she was alone, as always, teleporting. No Sailors stood by her. No Sailors wished her good luck. No sailors smiled at her. For a fleeting moment, she felt the pain and loneliness and the desire to return to her companions, her fellow Sailors united by powerful bonds of friendship and love, united with the other Sailors by their universal goal of batting Evil. But she stopped herself and reminded herself of the life she lived as a Sailor. At the few balls and social occasions she had gone to, the people either admired her for her beauty and gorgeous clothes. And upon discovering she was a Sailor, they all revered her. To be a Sailor was an extraordinary honor, prestigious and most romantic. Many dreamed of the wonderful, action-packed, fascinating, adventurous job of being a Sailor. No one thought of the pain, the misery, the danger, the price of this honor, this so-called "prestigious" and "fascinating" job. And especially no one asked of the one Sailor chosen among all of them to guard the Gates of Time - the most tedious and secluded job of all. No, no one thought of what price she had paid to be a Sailor. Yes, she had given up every aptitude she was blessed with, every dream and hope that had entered. She had strained every ounce of her self-control and bit back disappointed tears that threatened to spill down her eyes as she threw away all her talents and hid them deep inside her, locked away, laying and going to waste. She had forced herself into an inert life of misery and loneliness. That was the price she paid to be a Sailor. That was the price she paid for honor and prestige in a kingdom that failed to appreciate her. That was the price she no longer wanted to pay for the undesirable honor. And today, she would prove that. Holding her locket over her head, she shouted "Pluto Universal Power!". The dark purple aura surrounded her again, and she twirled in the middle of the air. As her feet finally landed on the ground and she assumed her usual stance, she completed her transformation. But she was no longer Ultimate Sailor Pluto. She was the Dark Ultimate Sailor Pluto, ready to reek her vengeance on those who were blamed for the bitterness inside her. "Pluto Universal Power - Teleport!" She shouted. For the first time, she did not hold on to the small hands of Chibi-Usa, or comforting hands of Saturn, the soft hands of Neptune, of the sturdy hands of Uranus. She was alone - as always. But that would soon change. She would see to that. The teleport was completed. She was standing - on an unfamiliar terrain. She expected that. There was just a stretch of?rocks. In every direction, there was nothing but a sea of gray gravel. She trudged along, praying she was heading towards the right direction. She gripped her Time Staff and was comforted by its presence, one familiar thing. She missed the Scouts who would usually be there to comfort her. 'But they didn't love you or care about you either,' she reminded herself. 'They just wanted your power.' She was startled for a moment by the black staff. 'Calm down,' she told herself. 'The silver's gone. You're no longer a faithful Sailor being used by that bitch Neo-Queen Serenity. You're back for revenge. And your staff shows it - black for hatred and revenge.' She walked on. Not a living thing was in sight. Hours must have slipped by - she could feel the time passing away, slowly but surely. Finally, a small village could be seen in the far distance. Wearily, she forced herself to push on until she collapsed on the front step of one of the homes. Tiredly, she knocked on the door and fell unconscious. The world blackened? "Wake up! Wake up!" Cold water aroused her back to Life. She sat up dizzily and stared around her. "What's your name?? What were you doing out there?" gasped a woman. "What? Where am I?" she stared around. "You're on Lestienel, the third planet of the sun Bariekaf. You're in Reyendol Galaxy. Did you not know that? Which queen sent you?" asked the woman. "Queen? Sent? What?" Pluto looked confused. "Oh dear, tell me you don't have amnesia! Look at your fuku! You're a Royal Sailor! Don't you remember anything?" gasped the woman. Suddenly, the memories flooded Pluto. She remembered everything - and her plot. "Why yes! Oh, I'm sorry. I'm Sailor Pluto, from the Sol Solar System of the Galaxy of Milky Way. I've come at the request of Neo-Queen Serenity. I mis-teleported and became lost. Which way to your Queen?" "Queen Regnilia? Yes, well, let me contact her. I'm sorry. She will send her servants to fetch you immediately, and you will be taken to the Royal Palace instantly!" the woman curtsied and ran off to contact her queen while screaming for someone to attend to their most honorable guests instantly and be sure she be given the highest respect and services. Pluto grinned, amused. She wondered what the woman would do if she knew she was harboring a traitorous Sailor set out to ruin her planet. A young girl brought a bowl of steaming soup to her and curtsied as she handed her the bowl with a delicate silver spoon. The sight of silver stunned Pluto for a moment. Her hand shook slightly as she took the spoon and proceeded to eat her soup. The girl stared at Pluto, her large blue eyes amazed. Pluto looked at the girl. She had brown hair, loose, and falling a few inches past her shoulder. She was standing in awe of her. Pluto could read what the curiosity, the reverence in her eyes. This young girl, like so many others, worshipped the Sailors. They thought the Sailors were such great people far above themselves who lived a splendid life unimaginable to the commoners. The Sailors - like the royalty - were like Gods and Goddesses. Pluto shook her head. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Nothing. The girl had gone away. She fell back on her pillow, wondering if anyone had noticed her absence. She closed her eyes. She could feel the Gates of Time. They stood untouched, just as before. She stared out the window, wondering where the Milky Way was. The woman walked in. "The Queen has been contacted. She apologized profusely for not having scouts on watch in case you misteleported. As a matter of fact, she wasn't aware Neo-Queen Serenity was sending a Sailor here. She is sending her servants to carry you to the castle immediately. They will arrive within one hour. She once again begs your forgiveness," the woman curtsied again. Pluto was tired of people curtsying to her. She never went on missions such as these. Queen Serenity never let her leave the Gates of time, and neither did Neo-Queen Serenity. It was always another Sailor, such as Venus or Saturn. Sometimes, the Queen herself went. She was never chosen to leave the Gates. Oddly enough, no one so far had known that she was the Sailor guarding the Gates of Time and would usually never be called upon to leave them for such a matter. There was a knock on the door. The woman sprang to open it. A few servants came scurrying in. Pluto weakly stood up. Before she even took a step, a strong man lifted her up in his arms and put her into the back of a vehicle with a bed-like object with cushions and a blanket. Another grabbed her luggage and tossed them in the back. They bowed to the woman and came scurrying back into the vehicle and drove off. Pluto was exhausted and fell soundly asleep as soon as her head touched the velvety pillow. There was a lurch. Groggily, she reluctantly opened her eyes again. They had reached the capital. She stared out. It was somewhat like Crystal Tokyo - the large, impressive stone buildings and crystal skyscrapers. The emerald trees clustered everywhere and the comfortable looking homes. A few marvelous and colorful gardens were scattered about. The vehicle went on to the palace - the grand palace located in the middle of the city. It was a typical palace, overly large and surrounded with the aura of extravagant opulence. It was marble and surrounded with a huge garden, then surrounded with a moat - like the very olden days. Odd, she thought, It is now a millenium or two later, and we are still using the very palaces we have used in the ancient days. With, of course, modern technology and luxuries, she added. A man opened the door for her, and she stepped out. The carpet was blood red - almost the color of her eyes. Poised and graceful, she stepped onto the carpet and walked elegantly walked on the carpet towards the front door where a woman stood next to a man, both with crowns upon their heads. A man announced to her, "Queen Regnilia and her husband, King Seneto!" She curtsied to them, and they smiled. They led her into the palace. The floor and the walls were entirely marble, covered with beautiful drawings and tapestries. Sculptures and plants dotted the floor everywhere. She was led up a huge staircase with ornate railings up a flight. "Your suite is on the second level near our suite, the chambers of our most honored guests," said the Queen. Her hair was golden, too. But it was done up in a different style. Her husband had fiery red hair and seemed stoic. He neither smiled nor frowned - like a statue with no expression. Like she was, much of the time out in public among unfamiliar faces. The Queen pleasantly pointed to the door leading to her suites. "I hope you enjoy your visit here. You seemed so dreadfully worn out from the journey! You must rest! Once again, I'm so horribly sorry about the mix-up. And to be sent to the Barrens, too! Would you like for me to call your Queen and announce that you've arrived safely?" asked Queen Regnilia. "Oh, no, that's quite all right! If I had been in danger, she would have felt it or I would have contacted her. That's quite unnecessary. I'm safe and sound, and that is all that matters," said Pluto, praying that the Queen would not call Neo-Queen Serenity. "All right then, as you wish," Queen Regnilia smiled. "Would you like dinner to be brought up to you, or would you rather join us for dinner?" "I'm terribly sorry, I'm quite depleted of all my energy. I think I shall stay in my room. Having dinner brought up to me sounds quite marvelous," Pluto remarked. "Very well, I shall have your dinner sent up to you. Rest well! I hope to see you at breakfast tomorrow, then," Queen Regnilia told her and went off with her husband. "Yes, see you at breakfast tomorrow," Pluto called after her and stepped into her suite. There was a huge feather bed, and Pluto fell upon it. Yes, she would indeed enjoy her stay? The plan was going JUST as planned. Dinner had been served to her, and Pluto sipped her glass of champagne. The cool liquid slid down her dry throat soothingly. She ate the beautiful pasta with great relish. The caviar was delicious. She was so famished, and her dinner quickly disappeared. She sat, drinking her champagne slowly. Suddenly, he, The Master, appeared in front of her. She nearly choked on her champagne. "What are you doing here?? You could get caught. If I were to be seen with you, it would blow my cover!" she whispered angrily. "Don't worry. I won't be caught. I mustn't stay too long though, or the Sailors here will receive my bad vibes. How is everything going?" he assured her. "It's all fine! If it weren't, I would have tried to reach you. Now leave!" she ordered. "My, my, as imperious as ever! Well, you nearly died upon arriving here. It hasn't all been as smooth as you say, has it?" he snickered. "It *HAS* been fine. That was just a small incident that turned out wonderfully. Now LEAVE!" she ordered him once again. "Fine, I'll go now. My presence does not seem to be welcomed. I trust that this kingdom will soon fall?" he looked at her pointedly. "Yes, it should be destroyed by tomorrow," she promised him. "NOW GO!" He vanished without a trace, without a sound. She sat down in relief and finished her champagne. She rang the bell, and a servant came scurrying in to pick up her dishes. The servant paused for a moment and just stood there. "Is something amiss?" asked Pluto worriedly. "No, I think it's just me. But I feel something?something uncomfortable. But I'm sure it's just me," the servant shook herself and scurried out the door again. That man will ruin everything! Oh, will he get it next time he does something so stupid!, Pluto vowed to herself. It was night and deathly silent. Not a sound?absolute silence. The very same silence that she had brooded in for years and years. She tiptoed out of her warm, soft bed. She had already powered up in the bathroom after all had bid her goodnight. She turned the faucet on to cover any noises that might have come from her transformation. Now she stood, gripping her Time Key, and approaching the bedroom of the royalty. The whole house was silent and asleep. It was pitch black. Hiding behind a sculpture, she saw two guards standing watch, both half-asleep. This will be easy, she thought, whipping out her clear stone. "Sheer Stone Consume!" she whispered, bringing out the clear stone in front of her. The guards suddenly looked toward her direction, hearing a noise. Before they could react, the stone shimmered and covered them with blinding light. They collapsed. Their heart crystal came out and shimmered over their bodies. Slowly, it began to fade until it collapsed on to the floor. Then, their star seed appeared. Slowly, it too began to fade until it disappeared altogether. Pluto's locket now glistened brightly. And then, its glow faded. She laughed. That had been too easy. She approached the door. She stepped over the two bodies and silently opened the door. She could hear the soft breathing of the king and queen. Stepping softly on the thick, cushioned carpet, she approached the bed. Silently, she brought out the clear stone. She whispered slowly "Sheer Stone Consume!", holding the stone out in front of her, pointing it towards the king and queen. The stone began to shine once again. The rays protruded from it and plunged toward the sleeping couple and engulfed them. Their heart crystals came out and hung above them as the stone sucked the energy. The depleted crystals fell to the bed beside the bodies, and their glimmering star seeds came forth. They began flickering as the energy was taken until they disappeared completely. Then, the Queen's brooch was surrounded by the light. The crystal contained inside was pulled out. Pluto watched as the golden energy flowed out. Pluto's locket flashed as it hungrily drained all the energy. Pluto laughed after it was done. She leisurely took her bags and walked out of the palace. Sailor Verlina, Sandrai, twisted and turned. She could feel herself screaming and trying to aim her attacks, but the figure had already slain the Queen who fell down. She woke up, cold sweat streaming down her face. Suddenly, a pain overtook her. She fell to the floor in agony. Something was wrong?dreadfully wrong. She feebly got up and dashed to into the rooms of the other scouts. "Larcia! Milvy! Presia! Garolma! Wevu! Ovia! Franlire!" She screamed. The seven scouts tiredly walked into her room. "Sandrai, what the HELL has gotten into you?? Can't you fucking see it's the goddamned middle of the night??" Ovia, with her frighteningly short temper, was clearly in a horrendous mood. "Something's wrong!! Dreadfully wrong. I had a nightmare about the Queen dying, and I woke up, and I felt this excruciating pain," she explained, trembling. Wevu sympathetically approached her and draped a comforting arm across her shoulder. "Don't worry. It's just a nightmare." "No! It's not. Nightmares don't feel this way. I had this horrible nauseous feeling wash over me. Something's not right!" "Oh, for fucking hell's sake, we're standing up in the middle of the night whining over some dumbass nightmare this bitch had??" Ovia's eyes flashed furiously. "Look, why don't we go down and check up on the Queen? Then you can see that this thing's just totally bogus, and maybe we can all get some sleep!" said Milvy decisively. "Ok!" Sandrai readily agreed. The eight walked out and rapidly walked towards the wing of the Queen and King. They stopped short, a few feet from the door. The girls stared at each other in horror. The two guards lay on the floor, dead, and their dulled heart crystals lay next to them. "Do you doubt me now?" Sandrai glared at Ovia. Ovia didn't answer. The group of eight stalked softly into the room. Looking towards the bed, their worst fears were confirmed. Their beloved Queen and King lay on the bed just as the guards were - with their heart crystals next to them. Garolma had whipped out a machine and was working furiously on it. "They died when something sucked the heart crystal out and drained it of energy and destroyed their star seeds by taking all the energy from the star seeds. The Queen's Rovendan crystal's energy has been depleted, too." She announced quietly. The group stared in shock. "Who did this??" they demanded. Garolma replied, "I'd check next door for the newcomer - that diplomat or whatever that arrived today." "What diplomat?" the other seven asked. Sighing, Garolma said, exasperated, "The new diplomat that came today! She didn't attend dinner though, but I heard that she's next door." The eight ran next door. Barging open the door, they stared at Garolma. The room was empty. Clearly, someone had occupied it recently, but now, it was absolutely vacant. "Bingo," said Sandrai hatefully. "Girls, transform!" "Sailor Verlina Rovendan Power!" shouted Sandrai. A gray mist spun around her like a tornado. She was dressed in a fuku with a knee-length gray skirt and a sleeveless vest top of white with a gray trim at the neck and the bottom. Her center bow was half white, half gray. The center button was silver. Her bow at the back was gray. Her boots were gray with white trimming at the top. She had a silver chain with a circle on it. "Sailor Castili Rovendan Power!" shouted Larcia. A gold light spun around her, and she came out dressed like Sailor Verlina, except her colors were gold and white. "Sailor Lissav Rovendan Power!" shouted Milvy. She was surrounded by a turquoise tornado. Her fuku was turquoise and white. "Sailor Evulpa Rovendan Power!" shouted Presia. She was surrounded by a black tornado. Her fuku was black and white. "Sailor Herlicose Rovendan Power!" shouted Garolma. She was surrounded by a sea green tornado. Her fuku was sea green and white. "Sailor Inevesia Rovendan Power!" shouted Wevu. She was surrounded by a lavender tornado. Her fuku was lavender and white. "Sailor Jirako Rovendan Power!" shouted Ovia. She was surrounded by a blood red tornado. Her fuku was red and white. "Sailor Koplanya Rovendan Power!" shouted Franlire. She was surrounded by a chartreuse tornado. Her fuku was chartreuse and white. "Do you have any idea where she went?" asked Sailor Verlina. "All my computer can trace is that she went out the front door," said Sailor Herlicose apologetically. "Well, it's at least some form of lead," said Sandrai and ran towards the front door. The other seven followed her rapidly. Sailor Pluto trudged along slowly, wondering when the people would discover her gone and the King, Queen, and guards dead so she could destroy them all and move to the next solar system. She had thousand and millions of galaxies to conquer. She prayed that they would team together so she could destroy and conquer them faster. "Hold it right there!" shouted a voice. Pluto spun around. In the dark, she could roughly make out the outline of a girl. "You have killed our queen AND king, and in the name of Queen Regnilia and King Seneto, on behalf of our planet Lestiniel of the sun Bariekaf in the Galaxy Reyendol, we shall destroy you!" "That's nice, but at least give us a little light so we can at least hold a fight!" snickered Pluto sarcastically, surprised that they had found her so quickly. She saw a girl move and scream "Voltage Blast!", her hands flung toward the sky. Suddenly, the sky bursted with light. The girl with dark red hair half way down her back smiled and said, "Compliments of Sailor Jirako." "What did you do?" Pluto asked curiously. "Oh, I just set a flame one of our satellites. It'll burn for a while and give us some light," Sailor Jirako said casually. "And now, we can fight!" her eyes gleamed. Pluto stared. Eight girls were in battle stance, all glaring at her. "I'm outnumbered. This won't be a fair fight," she looked about her. "FAIR?? You dare talk about FAIR?? You just KILLED our Queen and King, and you're here complaining about FAIRNESS???" screeched a girl with dark brown hair falling to her waist. "I am Sailor Verlina, and as the leader of the Bariekaf Sailors, I shall destroy you! Shimmering Skylight Slash!" Her hands flew about her, spinning faster and faster until a circling ball of energy was produced and headed straight for Sailor Pluto. Sailor Pluto was well prepared. Holding her clear ball, she shouted "Sheer Stone Consume!" The ball of energy dissipated as it was sucked into the ball and then into Pluto's locket. Sailor Verlina gasped. Pluto smiled. "My turn," she said, raising her staff. "Death Slice!" she threw her staff over her head, and it spun there until a flash of energy taking the shape of a sword flew and slashed into Sailor Verlina. She fell to the ground. A girl with blonde hair ran next to her in horror. Another girl with a light brown braid behind her suddenly began chanting. Her hands together, she mumbled a series of unintelligible words. Then, she threw her arms in the air and screamed "Sacred Eagle Hear My Cry, the Cry of Thy Servant Sailor Castili! Phoenix Flame Burst!" A large golden phoenix flew toward her. Pluto confidently held her Time Staff. "Dark Staff Shield Blockade!" she shouted. The darkened Garnet glowed and a maroon force field surrounded her. The golden bird vanished. Laughing, she shouted she screamed "Death Slice!" again as the sword plunged itself into Sailor Castili, and she fell down beside Sailor Verlina. The blonde girl was weeping now. Two sailors stood and raised their hands together. The one with the violet hair pulled into a bun shouted "I am Sailor Lissav! Hurricane Wind Lash!" The one with the navy blue hair cascading down to her ankles shouted "I am Sailor Evulpa! Blizzard Storm Attack!" Sailor Lissav was spinning rapidly until a whirlpool of turquoise energy flew from her, while a white ball erupted from the hands of Sailor Evulpa. The two attacks both were directed toward her. Pluto shouted "Sheer Stone Consume!" With a blinding flash of life, both attacks became nothing more than more energy for Pluto. "Eternal Time Wind Strike!" she shouted. Suddenly, she rose from the ground and was spinning rapidly, her staff outstretched. Winds of powerful energy flew, lashing at both the scouts. They screamed in pain as one by one they fell to the cruel lashes of the overwhelming attack. Pluto smiled triumphantly as she landed and saw the Sailor Lissav and Evulpa fallen. Suddenly, she saw the remaining four sailors standing in a circle. They stared her with hate embedded deeply in their eyes. "Crystal of Rovendan, hear thy servant Sailor Herlicose!" cried the girl with short ebony tresses only falling to her shoulders. She began glowing sea green. "Crystal of Rovendan, hear thy servant Sailor Inevesia!" cried the girl with blonde hair in two braids looped on both sides of her hair who had wept over Sailor Verlina and Sailor Castili. She began glowing lavender. "Crystal of Rovendan, hear thy servant Sailor Jirako!" the girl with metallic silver began glowing a fiery red. "Crystal of Rovendan, hear thy servant Sailor Koplanya!" cried the girl with an orange glow to her bright hair. She began glowing chartreuse. Their hands connected and a ray of light of their respective colors flew from them and blended into one ball in the center - a white ball crackling and sizzling with energy. The four raised their hands, and the ball began moving towards Pluto. In horror, Pluto quickly shouted, "Time Block - Stop!" The ball froze in place, shocking the four girls, who stood, aghast. Not wasting a second, Pluto shouted, "Dark Staff Shield Blockade!" The Garnet glowed, the maroon force field surrounded her. The Time Block wore off, and the ball impacted the force field. The ball weakened, having been drained and deflected by the protective shell. Finally the very last of it broke through. Pluto was ready. "Sheer Stone Consume!" she shouted, and the last bit of it was sucked into the stone. Sailor Herlicose, Sailor Inevesia, Sailor Jirako, and Sailor Koplanya stood, horrified. Pluto emerged from her force field triumphantly, and cried "Now watch the wrath of Pluto! ETERNAL TIME WIND STRIKE!" She floated up in the air again and spun as her staff emitted the crushing winds of energy, mercilessly whipping the four remaining scouts until they, too, fell under the blows. Pluto smiled and retrieved her stone once again. "Sheer Stone Consume!" Waving the crystal over all the bodies of the scouts, she watched as all the heart crystals were extracted and the energy stolen, followed by the star seeds. She raised her head to the sky and laughed as she felt all the energy pour into her locket and the thrill it gave her. She could feel the energy pulsating through her, and it felt wonderful. She held the crystal high above her head. Waving it all around her, she cried out "Sheer Stone Consume!" Suddenly blasts of the radiant light flew out in all directions from the crystal and swallowed every corner of the planet. She felt tremendous amounts of energy streaming into the crystal and then into her locket. She laughed maniacally - she couldn't help it. She raised the staff, and suddenly, she felt herself pushing herself into the sky. Rotating in the air, she screamed as loud as she could "SHEER STONE CONSUME!" The burst of light that erupted everywhere nearly blinded her as energy came pouring in like a monsoon. And then?blackness. She fell back to the ground. It was all dark. The sky was an empty void - not a single star or any light. A shimmer was seen, and The Master stepped out. She could almost see him smiling. "You have done a marvelous job, my dear Pluto," he said, patting her on the shoulder. She moved away from his touch. "Thank you," she stated simply. "Keep moving. You have the many galaxies to conquer. With all the new energy gathered, you should easily conquer this galaxy," he told her. She laughed. "The energy is so wonderful. I'm receiving all sorts of new powers. I can CONTROL this energy - it will almost do anything - even take other Soldier's attacks," she laughed then shouted, "Shimmering Skylight Slash!", her arms flying next to her. A ball of energy appeared and waited to be direct. Pulling out her stone again, she shouted "Sheer Stone Consume!" The ball disappeared. "Wonderful!" praised the man. "Now, hurry! The universe is waiting to be conquered!" He vanished. Confidently, the Pluto took her Time Staff and prepared to teleport again. She stared behind her. The grand city was reduced to nothing but a dim oblivion. Somewhere, faintly, almost as if it were in a different person's heart, she could feel vaguely guilt. But it was so weak. She shouted "Pluto Universal Power - Teleport!" Author's Note: There, there was action for you! Ok, so maybe not great action, but see? Battles *HAVE* started. So, how'd you like it?
