Mamoru had come here because he was sent to find miracles and prove them wrong. He was a scientist for some years until he was born again and became priest. He didn't quit being a scientist but worked as both. So the head priest of the catholic church sent him to this little town in the Middle East to prove this so-called miracle, wrong. The people around him were either crying or staring. What the weird part about it was what they were staring *at*. Mamoru looked up and froze in his steps. What stood before him was unbelievable. It was the statue of Mary, the mother of Christ. But what threw him off was that it was crying......blood. Being a scientist, he pulled out his hand-held scientific instruments. He took the few steps that stood between him and the statue and touched the stone. Using one of his tools he scanned the statue and found out that it was solid stone. He took out his infered camera and took a couple pictures. The people behind him were shouting at him to believe that this, indeed, was a miracle. Mamoru would not fall for it. Grabbing a regular camera, he took a few snapshots and put everything back in his bag. He turned to his right and noticed a coffin. The guy beside him nudged him. "The statue has been crying ever since he died." He pointed to the coffin and inside was a holy priest. He was holding a picture and a beaded cross. Mamoru turned back to the guy but he was gone. He shrugged then grabbed his bag and left. Right after Mamoru left, a young boy walked up to the coffin and grabbed the cross. Running out of the church, he ended up in the market. He saw a young woman looking around in the shops. He walked up to her and she turned to look at him. "Here miss." He gave her the cross. "What? How much do you want for it?" The boy turned and ran off before she could repay him for his kindness. She shrugged then left the marketplace. Tsukino Usagi ran out of her apartment after grabbing her purse. She hopped into a taxi and drove to work. When she got there, she greeted her friend, Aino Minako, who also worked there. The worked as hair dressers but also did smaller odd jobs like manicures and ear-piercing. Usagi went straight to work, cutting some woman's hair. "So Mina-chan. How's your relationship with Motoki-san?" Usagi had found out a week ago that her friend was dating some guy named Furuhata Motoki from Asia. This was odd because they lived in Philadelphia. "Oh. Were doing just fine. He is so kawaii, don't ya think?" Usagi nodded and looked at her friend. Minako was piercing some guy's nipple. "You know Usagi-chan? You need to get out more. You don't even have a boyfriend." Usagi sighed then turned back to the old woman. The rest of the evening went by the same way until both the girls had to go home. On the way home they talked more. "Mina-chan? I think I'm pregnant." Minako looked at her friend startled. Usagi continued. "I'm behind on my period." Usagi looked out the window while Minako was deep in thought. "Why don't I pull over and we could go get a test?" Usagi shook her head 'no'. "It's probably just morning sickness. I mean, I threw up this morning." This time, it was Minako's time to sigh. She loved her friend a lot, but Usagi was a stubborn woman. Minako dropped Usagi off at her apartment building and left to her own place. Once upstairs and in what she called 'home', Usagi bent down and picked up her mail. "Bank." She tossed one envelope onto the kitchen counter. "Work." Tossed another one down. All that she had left was a tiny package from her mother. Before she could open it, the phone rang. She glanced at the Caller ID and it read 'Ikuko Tsukino', so she picked it up. "Hi mom!" She picked up the bank envelope and tore it open. "Hi darling. How are you doing?" After finding out it was just the bill, she tossed it back down. "Great! How are you, dad, and Shingo doing?" She opened the one from work and it was her paycheck so she put it back down for later. "Were doing just fine. Did you get the package that I sent you?" Usagi tore open the box. "Opening it right now mom." Shaking the package upside down, she watched as a tiny cross fell out. Disgusted with it, she didn't try to pick it up. "So? Do you like it? I got it here in this small country in the Middle East." "Oh? I didn't knew that you went there." She walked over to fridge and pulled out the milk. "Yep. It would have been fun if you were there with me, Usagi." Usagi poured herself a glass of milk and drank it slowly. "I know. I probably would have had tons of fun." "Yeah, Usagi dear? I have to go. I'm sorry." She placed the glass back down. "Ok mom. I understand." She hung up after hearing the click from the other end. Usagi walked into her bathroom. After managing to get her clothes off, she slipped into the tub. The warmth of the water soothed her aching muscles. She relaxed then placed her arms on the sides of the tub. Closing her eyes, she had no intention of falling asleep. Suddenly, something stabbed into her wrists and went all the way through so her hands were nailed to the edge of the tub. She was screaming uncontrollably. (AN: I know I would be too!) Blood started gushing from her wrists like water from a hose. The pain was unbearable. While screaming and sobbing, she looked at her wrists and saw nothing holding her wirsts down. Some invisible force had nailed her arms to the end of the tub. She blacked out from loss of blood and from the horrible pain. Fifteen minutes later, Usagi arrived at the hospital. Seems her neighbor had heard her screaming and called the police. The doctors were trying to stop the blood flow but it was all in vain. She had lost a lot of blood. Suddenly, as fast as it had happened, it stopped. The blood stopped, and Usagi shot up from the bed into a sitting position, eyes wide, screaming. Then she plopped back down onto the bed and her heart stopped. The machines went bonkers. They were about to send a shock to her heart to get it going again. Before they were even ready with the device, her heart started up again. She had came back to life. With the blood stopped they were able to bandage up her wrists. She had lost a lot of blood. So much that they were surprised that she was alive. After thinking for a while, they all ended up with the same word in their minds. 'Suicide'. They all thought that she was trying to kill herself. The holes in her wrists were *exactly* the same size. They thought that she took some sharp object and stabbed herself. (AN: Why would anyone want to go through that much pain. That is worse then just slitting your wrists.) When she woke up, Minako was waiting in the doorway as a doctor came to sit next to Usagi. "Tsukino- san?" Usagi looked at the doctor and got the same face she got all day. 'Pity'. The name tag on her shirt read 'Dr. Mizuno Ami. "Yes?" "You know what this looks like don't you?" Usagi looked at her bandaged hands then a thought crept into her mind that made her extremely mad. "What?!?! You don't honestly think that I tried to kill myself, do you?!?!" Her face was beet red with anger. Of course, it did look like suicide, but you don't just jump to conclusions. "Tsukino-san, calm down. Have you been having any stress lately? In work, or at home?" Usagi looked at Minako for a second. "Yes." She wasn't going to lie to the lady. She was only trying to do her job. "Thank- you Tsukino-san. I'll be going now." And with that, Dr. Mizuno walked out of the room with her clipboard. Minako didn't know what to believe. From the sound of things, it looked like her best friend had just tried to kill herself. 'Why?' That was the only word floating her in brain. She walked up to Usagi and put a hand on her shoulder. "It will be ok. Just you watch. Everything will be back to normal in no time." Usagi nodded and layed her head down on the pillow. Minako watched as her friend fell into peaceful slumber. She sighed and fell asleep, herself, on the sofa next to the hospital bed. TO BE CONTINUED..... So? What do you think? This is only the first part of this little series. Well, please send some FEEDBACK!!!!!! Gotta go work on part 2.
