He wanted nothing more than to gun the engine to Earth, but Sailor Starmaker had pointed out “it would overheat the engines, engulfing us in an inferno in 2.7 seconds.” Starfighter had just nodded. “Whatcha thinkin’ about?” Healer plopped down next to him, a plate of green Jell-O in his hands. “Nothing.” Fighter looked back to the computer console, where Maker was tapping away. “How long until we reach Earth?” “Not until tomorrow. I’m having trouble with the thrusters.” Maker slammed down his fist, a rare sign of emotion. “What about us?” Healer asked, unusually serious. “Same. I still have no clue why we became male.” Healer looked down at their uniforms. “A lot better than what we wore before.” The three now adorned black leather suits. They were skin-tight with a star symbol in silver silk on the chest. Black suede boots went halfway up their calves, and black formal gloves were on their hands. Everything below the neck was covered, which was a sharp contrast to their former tiny uniforms. Fighter thought for a moment. “When we get there, what are we going to tell them? What do you think they’ll do?” “The truth. They need to know Princess Kakyuu and Galaxia… you know. In case whatever took them is coming this way. Serena will want to know what happened to them. They seemed to bond fairly swiftly.” Maker answered. “They’ll help us.” Healer whispered. The two looked at him. “They helped us before. They can find her for us.” They nodded to each other. The loss of their princesses had shocked them and caused them to grow up. “I wonder how Uranus will react when we arrive.” Maker mused. Fighter and Healer groaned, while Maker laughed. That was when a loud beeping went off and the lights flickered. Everyone abruptly stopped. “What’s going on?” Fighter stood up and looked at Maker. “There is some one out there. Three unidentified life forms, going the same way we are.” “WHO SAID THAT?” Healer’s eyes widened Fighter could hear Maker’s voice ring through his head and dimly wondered where Maker had learned to do that. a new voice interrupted. This female voice sounded a lot more irritated than the soft female voice that had been speaking. came a deep male voice. Maker’s pride gave an edge to his words. Fighter joined in. He knew he had heard about these people from some one, but he couldn’t remember. Came a new male voice. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ o}--+----- Tokyo, June 2, 1999 AD, Universe 1 Serena was flying through the halls of the school. echoed through her mind as she sprinted to the usual spot under the oak tree. It was lunch for Crossroads High School, and everyone was outside, enjoying a warm summer day. School would be out in a few days, and everyone had cameras, pens, and signature books out. Serena had been stopped several times, but was finally going to get to eat lunch. Her stomach rumbled as she flew through the doors to the courtyard and around the corner of the main building where their spot was under the huge oak tree. Serena stared at their spot. Her head tilted to the side as if she couldn’t understand. No one was there. It was quiet, being a little farther away from everyone else. She stood there for a few seconds before bursting out laughing. “OK guys. You win. I’m sorry I’m late. You can come out now. Hehe. Good joke, but it’s over. Guys?” Serena’s smile faded as she realized no one was anywhere. “Hey Serena!”, Molly called. She ran to her friend, worried eyes looking over the petite blonde. “Are you okay?” “Never better! Why, what’s wrong?” Serena brightened her face with a smile. Molly’s accent was thick, meaning either she was worried or she was daydreaming. Serena guessed it was because of the former and went into help-my-friend-mode. “Are you all right? Sit down.” Molly’s forehead crinkled. “How come the others aren’t sitting with us? And how come you aren’t sitting with them? Everyone is saying that they don’t want to eat lunch with us for some lame reason. Did you guys have a fight or something?” “Nooooo…” Serena said slowly, taking everything in. Her head was swimming. < They… don’t want to be with me? But, we were gonna… I thought… c’mon Serena, get a grip. There is probably a perfect explanation.> Serena pasted a smile on her face. “It’s probably something else. I have been complaining how I never get free time. They’re just being nice! But you’re welcome to eat lunch with me!” Molly stared at her friend. Her blue eyes looking deep into Serena’s, she saw warmth and happiness, but a trace of confusion and loneliness. She smiled softly. “Of course I’ll sit with you.” Together, they sat down and began chatting, eating lunch, and posing for pictures with some friends. But Molly couldn’t concentrate. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ o}--+----- Crystal Tokyo, June 2, 2022 AD, Universe 3 Neo-princess Serenity, Reni to her friends, was currently riding with her fiancé, Prince Helios, and having the time of her life. They were laughing and talking while gently cantering through the Jupiter Oak Forests of Crystal Tokyo. “So where are your guardians?” Helios inquired. He had noticed the few hours they had spent had been uninterrupted. And typically, they would have gone through all the Neo-Sailors twice. Reni smiled. “They are out with their fiancés. We all decided a day away from each other was in order, with their mothers away. Why?” Helios smiled. “Because I wanted to give you something. A small surprise.” Reni arched an eyebrow at her father’s guardian. “What kind of surprise?” “Close your eyes and face me.” Reni obeyed with a small smile. She waited for what she knew would be a kiss. She waited. And waited. And waited some more. After ten seconds, she was tired of waiting. “Helios, is this a… Helios?” Reni looked at Helios in shock. He was frozen, partially leaning forward and eyes closed. Reni looked down. The horses were also frozen in mid-canter! “What’s going on? HELIOS?” A slight laughter ran through the trees. Reni shivered at the sound. “Reni…” a deep male voice echoed through the still trees. Reni dismounted and looked around, recalling her Sailor training. “Who are you and what do you want? What have you done to time?” she demanded. A dark shadow appeared a few meters ahead of the trail they had been riding on. He, she assumed it was a “he” from the voice, was dressed completely in black, and his face was shadowed by a large mask. He laughed softly. “You are so much like your mother, and not just physically.” Reni stilled with this comment. “How did you know my mother? Who are you?” “Your mother and I were very close. We worked together. Dear child, please go and tell your mother I am here and wish to speak with her.” “How dare you! This is some kind of sick joke isn’t it? WHO ARE YOU?” “Serenity, I simply want your mother…” “MY MOTHER IS DEAD! WHO ARE YOU?” The black figure flinched, his face revealed. Reni gasped as she recognized what looked like her father’s face. The figure quickly covered his face. “How can this be? When did she die?” Reni, shocked and now crying with renewed grief, hardened her face. “Look, I’m not telling you any more until you tell me who you are. How come you didn’t… What are you doing?” Reni watched as the man revealed his eyes- a beautiful midnight-blue, the color of her father’s. “Daddy?” Reni felt her mind being probed. She tried to exercise the mental powers Queen Mars had taught her and her guardians, but the force was taking up her entire mind. She couldn’t hold onto a thought. When he was done, the figure looked upward. “I won’t believe it until I see the Pure Crystal of Light myself. She CAN NOT die without me!” And in a flash of dark energy, he was gone. “WHOA!” Reni turned to the now fallen Earth Guardian. Tears stained her face, and he was up and by her side in a second. “Reni, what happened?” “I don’t know, but it has something to do with my parents. Let’s get back to Daddy.” ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ o}--+----- Tokyo, June 2, 1999 AD, Universe 1 “And you say it sends subliminal mental messages to stay away from Serena?” “Yeah. The messages come in a form of dreams. The dream tells the person that unless they drop complete contact with her, she’ll suffer because of them.” Kat answered. Molly was sitting in her bedroom. The entire day had been spent consoling Serena because of the Sailor’s silent treatment. She had finally gotten Serena home, after some yelling of her parents. Molly had then immediately come home and found the five other members of their little team. They had gone into her bedroom, with Molly’s mom downstairs doing business, to talk in private. Molly’s brow wrinkled as she thought. “Does it affect the average person? Serena’s parents were awfully harsh on her today.” “I would guess it wouldn’t have such an effect. We are more sensitive to energy and telepathy than anyone else.” Gab contributed. Kat and Ryl nodded in agreement. “So what should we do about it? You said the Sailors ignored her, so they must have fallen for it. And why would Damion be doing this?” Angel asked, twirling slightly in Molly’s desk swivel chair. “Probably to try and make our task of getting her to remember “easier”. Now we have to work fast before Ren goes into a depression. And you know what that’s like.” Ryl bitterly stated. “We’re going to have to act fast anyway. The Generals and the Stones are about to reawaken. And Rin is going to be needed to make sure they’re totally healed.” Kat said quietly. Destinia looked up. She had kept her head bowed, leaning against the desk next to Angel, as she had searched through the lines of Destiny to sense something, anything about what would happen over the next couple days. “Tonight. If we want to get things done, we have to get her to remember tonight. No more dreams. Everyone meet at the park at 7:00 tonight. Mahira, bring Serenity with you.” Molly nodded. Angel stood up. “How about we all go find Serena now and spend our last day on Earth together, over a sundae? My treat.” The six of them left Molly’s house with a quest and a smile. Yet in the back of their minds, they all echoed the same question. Will this work out? ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ o}--+------ Silver Millennium, June 2, 1 BC, Universe 2 A black figure silently entered the Moon Palace, undetected. He had witnessed the alliance between the Neptune and Sun/Earth kingdom. He had watched the declaration of war being sent from Neptune to their main rival, Uranus. He had also seen the Star Kingdom refuse any assistance in the Solar System Wars to either side. He was very curious as to what was truly going on. Why was Serenity no with her Soulmate? And how come everything was breaking up? Wherever she went, usually happiness followed. Now, he would find her and receive an explanation. There was no way they could play the Game now because of all the different wars and rebellions. They would have to figure something out to create peace. Then, and only then, would the fun truly begin. As he crept down among the shadows down the princess’ wing, voices echoed from behind him. Reflexively he flattened himself as far as he could against the wall. Two other figures appeared down the hallway in front of him. A woman in pale yellow and black with a male dressed in silver and white. “What did the Princess say, Artemis?” asked the woman. “You know Venus, Luna. She is having a lot of trouble keeping an allegiance with Mercury, and it’s taking all of her time. I don’t think she can handle anything at all, especially not the extra worry of a Rose Allegiance attack. “ Artemis replied, running a hand through his silvery white hair. “And the king and queen are giving all their power into healing Uranus from the Black Moon Invasion.” Luna absently noted. She crossed her arms and looked to the ground. “Oh Artemis, what are we going to do.” The figure hidden in the shadows listened with interest. He hadn’t heard about Uranus suffering any attack. Interesting. When the two were out of sight, he began his trek again. Within the minute, he was staring at the door with a Moon sigil on the front. Silently, he pushed open the door and stepped in. After promptly shutting the door, he looked around, still wary should anyone else be in there. The room was painted in every shade of white imaginable, with gorgeous paintings hanging around the room. One side of the wall, opposite the bed, was a mirror. He could also one of the largest balconies he’d ever seen on the opposite wall from his position. he though amusingly. He didn’t see her, but rather heard her. She was crying softly. Looking around and stepping closer to the bed, he made out a slim figure of a woman sitting, facing slightly towards him. She seemed to be clutching something tightly. He smiled. “Serenity…” The woman looked up. “Who’s there?” “Serenity, where is your daughter?” “I asked you a question. Who are you?” “I am a friend. Where is your daughter? I must speak with her immediately.” The queen silently searched the room, but seemed to not detect him. More tears spilled down her cheeks, her silver hair hung limp with a tinge of blue, the only remaining sign of what youth she used to hold. he mused. “Is this a joke?” This took him aback. “Why would you think I am joking? Now, will you tell me, or do I have to figure it out myself?” Serenity abruptly stood up. One look at her face told him she was VERY angry. He could dimly remember seeing Serenity angry in their last lives and did not want to go through that again. “LOOK, I don’t know who you are and I don’t want to know. Leave me alone. NOW.” He was tired from teleporting all over the Solar System. He was frustrated with his search for Serena. And now she angered him by using such a tone of voice with him? Mother or no mother, Serena would have to deal with this. “Fine.” He allowed his body to shine into the moonlight, keeping his black cloak tightly around him and his masked face hidden. He allowed power to consume him. He heard a gasp as he began to glow with the dark energy. His mind gently began to go through hers. He felt her try to break free. Abruptly, he let go of her mind. His body responded to the sudden break with a jolt. Revealing his face a little made Serenity gasp again. But he was beyond caring. His Serenity was gone. Without him ever knowing her. “No. NO. NO! How can this be! She couldn’t have died. She is MINE! I won’t believe this until I see the Pure Crystal before me IN SHARDS! NO!!!!” He screamed, denial hitting him full on. His eyes flashed with madness and anger a dull crimson. Outraged, he teleported away. “Endymion?” was all Queen Serenity could say. Quickly, she flew out of the room to get a meeting with her remaining loyal scouts. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ o}--+----- Two Galaxies away from Earth, June 2, 1999 AD, Universe 1 “So you had a crush on Serena too?” Alan smiled at Starfighter. After half a day of traveling, the small group had become good friends, exchanging stories of their experiences with the Sailors. When they were told of Princess Kakyuu’s disappearance, they were immediately sympathetic and promised to help. “Yeah. It will be great to see her again. Do you know if you’re baby will be a boy or a girl?” “I don’t know, but I would like a son.” “Hey guys, we’re only six hours away from Earth, thanks to the tree’s extra power.” Starmaker’s voice rang through the control room Alan and Starfighter occupied. Starfighter smiled for the first time since Galaxia and Kakyuu’s death. They would make it. And then, they would get revenge on those who took their lives. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Stay tuned next week!
