Submitted for your approval (or disapproval as the case may be) this is part 2 of my first attempt at a fanfic. This chapter takes place immediately after the battle with Queen Beryl. You know, when the Scouts all returned safely, but with no memory of being Sailor Scouts. Or did they...? This is based on the DIC translation, as that is the only version I've seen (apologies to those fans of the original version). All names, places and events are copyright of DIC, Bandai, Toei, etc. except those I make up. Comments, praises and flames may be sent to: andyhme@mixnet.commdesign.com Andrew M. Hujsak Passageways-2 ...Perchance...: Lita and Amy Outside in the city, the young man walked slowly along the sidewalk. "I don't understand" he thought to himself, "I know something terrible has happened, but it isn't supposed to end like this." He had a vision, he knew when the Sailor Scouts had transported away, and the vicious battle that had ensued, and had seen the downfall of the Negaverse. But why hadn't they come back? Why hadn't SHE come back? His gift of insight did him no good, try as he might, all he got was blankness. He continued walking, lost in his thoughts. Then something started to happen, he could feel powerful forces gathering, concentrating, as if to tear a hole in the very fabric of space itself. He suddenly could see it! The vision came through with a clarity he'd never had before, he knew where she was to return and he wasn't far from there, the City Central Public Library! How ironic, he mused as he took off at a fast run, that she would come back at her favorite place. "Hang on, I'm coming!" As he entered the main hall of the library, he was momentarily confused. All seemed normal, quiet with a few hushed murmerings of the patrons. Then came the surge of energy and a loud crash in the rear of the building. Hurrying to where the noise had come from, he saw her, and one other! There under a mass of books that had fallen off the shelf, was a girl with short, dark hair with bluish tints in it and another, somewhat taller girl with brown hair tied back in a ponytail. "Amy" he said "and Lita!" He then called out, "Someone call an ambulance, there are two hurt girls back here!" Turning back, he said "Amy, Lita, it's Greg. Hang on, help is on the way!" He got a low moan in reply. As her eyes fluttered open, the first thing Amy was aware of was that she was in a bed in a large white room, the second was that she had a splitting headache! "Doctor, I think she's coming around." Lita? An older man leaned over her. "Miss Anderson? Can you hear me?" "Yes" came the weak reply. "Good. Don't try to move just yet, you've got a mild concussion and need to rest." The man was replaced by a woman with dark, shoulder length hair."Amy, honey, you'll be alright as long as you do as the doctor says." "Mother? Wh...what are you doing here?" Stupid question! "Where else should I be? When word came down that you had been brought in, I was released from my duties in pediatrics and came up here to be with you and to help in any way I could." said Dr. Anderson. "your friend Lita came through much better with only minor bruises. She's here now, though she is allowed to leave at anytime." "Yeah, I could go,but I'm not going to until I know your going to be OK!" Amy looked over to another bed to see Lita sitting on the edge with a look of concern on her face. "Thanks Lita, its good to know your here. Umm, by the way, how did we get *here*?" "It was Greg, he was at the *library* when we had that *accident*." said Lita, with the slightest of emphasis, knowing that she couldn't say too much with the doctor and Amys' mom there. "Greg! Is he still here? Can I see him?" exclaimed Amy, clearly excited. "Yes, he's still here," said Amys' mother, "he's waiting in the Lobby. He seems like a nice boy, and I'm grateful he was in the right place at the right time. Is he... no, we'll save that for another time.I'll have him come in." "Mother!" said Amy, turning a shade of crimson. The two doctors went out and shortly Greg came in."Hi Lita, hi Amy. The doc says you're going to be alright, and you might be able to go home tomorrow. I'm glad I was able to be there when you needed help, Amy. Oh, and for you too, Lita, no offense." "None taken, Greg." she said with a smile and a wink. Amys' cheeks colored again. "Lita!" Turning back to Greg and hesitantly offering her hand, which he took not so hesitantly, "How did you know where to find us?" "Well, you know my special *gift*," and he related his story. "So, as far as anyone else is concerned, we all just happened to be there at the same time, and your secret is still safe, Scouts." Much to their relief. Just then, the door opened and the doctor looked in and said, "OK young man, I'm afraid visiting hours are over now, and you have to go. Lita, you can stay here overnight with Amy if you wish to, it's a slow night and we aren't in urgent need of the bed space. Of course, this comes with a little pull from Amys' mother, being Chief of Pediatrics and all. She thought you might appreciate the company, Amy." "Thanks, I will." said Lita. "Thank you, she is so right!" said Amy. The two Sailor Scouts (as civilians, of course) talked a little while longer going over what they might have done differently in the fight with the Negaverse and were getting ready to call it a night when they heard their communicators in the dresser activate. "Mina, Amy, Lita, Raye, do you hear me? It's Serena, please answer, PLEASE..." End Part Two
