Finding Yourself In Life By: Rebecca ?Dreamlume? Roberts Chapter 2 Authors notes: Hi everyone, thank you so much, all of you that sent me mail. I?ve been very busy lately so that?s the reason for the delay in the stories. Thanx for you patience. Prince Endymion sat on his throne tiredly. His guards were to be returning from a diplomatic trip to a neighbouring territory some time that day. He had wanted to go with them but his administrative duties came before pleasure. He had exceptional delegation skills. The territories that he governed were all prosperous. Everyone waited in happiness for the day when he would become king. But Endymion, or Darien as those closest to the Prince called him, was unhappy. He longed for someone to love. He laughed at himself for being that pathetic, but he was lonely. He would go from relationship to relationship. None of them lasted long. They were all either after his crown, or the gods hadn?t blessed them with any noticeable intelligence. Just then, a servant waked in and announced the arrival of his friends. He rose and walked out into the front courtyard. Up rode his four guards, but behind them trailed a cloaked figure on a white horse. Darien could tell only that the mysterious person was a female. She stopped behind them, and dismounted with the others. He wondered briefly who she was, before greeting his guards. Serena looked around apprehensively from her cloak. She watched as her friends greeted a man she assumed was the prince. He was the most beautiful man she had ever seen. He had a shock of raven black hair, and the most hypnotic pair of sapphire eyes. He was dressed in polished black knee boots and black pants that hugged muscular legs. The outfit was set off by a white silken shirt that rippled in the breeze, hinting at his gorgeous chest. She stepped forward hesitantly, hoping to be introduced. Suddenly a bell sounded and the men turned ran towards the sound through the main doors and left her standing alone. She stood in shock for a few seconds. She had no idea about what had happened and, deeming it rude to go looking, sat down on the marble rim of a large fountain in the centre of the large courtyard. She sat there for what seemed like hours, and still no one came for her. She got up, still covered by her cloak as it was cold and the sky was quickly growing dark, and circled the courtyard. Then she saw a sudden commotion at the front gates. She watched as a band of thieves slayed the palace guards and approached the palace. She looked around for any sign that anyone in the palace had heard the noise. It was dark inside and there was no sign of movement. She surveyed the courtyard for all vantage-points. She noticed that there was a sword hanging from a nail on the outer wall of the palace stables. She knew that she was the one who would have to stop them. The leader came to a stop in front of her. ?Who are you?? he asked cooly. thought Serena After there was silence for a few minutes, and then he seemed to decide that she was no threat and resumed his walk. ?I wouldn?t do that if I were you???? Serena stared at him icily from under her hood. ?And why not?? another replied mockingly. Serena stood confidently and said in the most threatening tone she could. ?Because in order to get to the castle you have to go through me.? The leader looked ready to laugh. But he had no intention of backing down from her puny threat. She would learn not to pick fights with him soon enough?.. He signaled to his men, and they surrounded her and drew their swords Thought Serena rolling her eyes.
