Defy the Moon

The first kiss was sweet, brighter than a star.  All was told within
the brilliance of that first kiss.
"Endymion..."
"Serenity..."

"I love you..."

Far away, a rainbow spoke.
The Fire Red.  "We cannot let this be."
The Ice Blue.  "She will resist, you know."
The Forest Green.  "But Earth is dangerous."
The Fire Red again.  "Love is more dangerous."
The Lovely Gold.  "How do you know?  When have you been in love like
that?"
And the Fire Red has no words.
The Sea Aqua.  "She is the Moon Princess.  She belongs here."
The Ice Blue again.  "So what do we do?"
The Sky Azure.  "She has supreme order."
The Fire Red again, with power.  "Enough.  It is done.  It will be
done.  We will defy the Moon."
"So be it," said the Rainbow.

Royalty was unaware of the brilliant, focused rainbow that streaked
across the sky, bridging the Moon and the Earth.  But it was not the
only bridge.

Hands touched, lacing strong, bronzed fingers with ivory, delicate
ones.  Lips touched, searing, soothing, loving.  Eyes touched, blue
into blue, oceans into crystal, locked in time.  Bodies touched,
waist and arms, hesitantly at first, then closer and closer...

And all were unaware as the rainbow fell...
