Princess Serenity exclaimed in utter surprise. "It was a mere suggestion," Queen Serenity said. "No," the princess said firmly. "Don't make your decision so quick. Think it over tonight," the queen said. "Humph," Princess Serenity pouted. "It is time to retire to your chamber, Serenity," Queen Serenity said. "Good night mother," PSerenity sighed, walking up the spiral stairway. "Promise me you'll give it thought," QSerenity called. "I promise," PSerenity said, hesitantly. ----------+----------+----------+----------+----------+----------+---------+ "ICK! I can't believe my mother wants me to marry someone I have NEVER even met in my entire life!!" Serenity said to her black lunar cat, Luna. "You'll meet him tomorrow. Maybe he's not as you think. Like you said, you've never met him. Give him a chance," Luna pleaded. Serenity admitted that Luna was right so she nodded and went to sleep. The next morning, all the princesses made sure that Serenity looked her best. The moon princess had donned her finest gown, embroidered with the finest stiches and the most exquisit patterns in the galaxy. Her gown was of the finest silk and the color was a pearl color that matched Serenity's hair perfectly. "Venus!" Serenity giggled, "You must have brushed my hair a hundred times!" "Not yet. Only 87," the beautiful princess of Venus giggled. "Stay still Serenity!" the fiery princess of Mars chided, "I'll never get your hair into the traditional odangos unless you stay perfectly still!" "I'm trying! Mmmm, what is that I smell? Jupiter, what's for breakfast?" Serenity asked. "It's a surprise," said the princess of Jupiter. "Isn't Prince Endymion supposed to join us for breakfast?" Venus said. "Unfortunately," Serenity groaned. "What? You don't like him? I heard he's very handsome," Venus said. "I have to marry someone I don't even know!" Serenity complained. "Come on Serenity," giggled the princess of Mercury, "You're overreacting." "I AM NOT!" Serenity defended but broke into a fit of giggles. "Girls, you'd better hurry. Our guests are here," Luna announced. "All right, Moon Princess. Show him what you've got!" Venus said. The five princesses elegantly walked down the gold and marble spiral staircase and into the main hall. "Oh, here they come!" QSerenity announced, "Princess Serenity, this is Prince Endymion of Earth." "A pleasure," PSerenity curtsied. "Same," Prince Endymion said, kissing her hand. "Come, breakfast is about to be served," QSerenity said. ----------+----------+----------+----------+----------+----------+---------+ After breakfast, QSerenity excused herself to speak with the princesses, purposely leaving only Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion at the table. The silence was defening. Serenity spoke up to try to break it. "Umm.. so. What's the Earth like, Prince Endymion?" Serenity said. "It's okay," Endymion responded. PSerenity excused herself and left the room. Luna followed her out into the famous Lunar Gardens. The garden was full of exotic and VERY rare flowers and herbs. The sweet fragrance of the flowers always soothed Serenity when she needed to relax. This time, however, Serenity didn't feel relaxed at all. She felt more tense than she had felt earlier. She sighed and sat down at a bench, surrounded by fragrant lilies and daises. Luna who had followed Serenity, sat beside Serenity. Unknown to the pair, Endymion had strolled into the garden as well. The Lunar Garden is the biggest garden in the solar system, and most complete. It has more exotic flowers and herbs than all of the planets in the galaxy. All who visited the moon has at least visited the royal Lunar Gardens at least once. Endymion wandered into the Lunar Gardens, deep in thought. "What an awful bore, that Princess Serenity! Marry someone as boring as that????? No way!!!" Endymion thought. As he wandered through the garden, Endymion stumbled upon Serenity and her feline friend. Not wanting to disturb the pair, he kept himself well hidden and listened in on their conversation. "Luna, why can't I make decisions for myself?!" Serenity complained. "It's for the best. Don't worry too much," the black cat said. "It's so stuffy in here!" Serenity said. "Didn't I explain the greenhouse effect to you earlier?" Luna said. "No, Mercury-chan did. I was extremely bored!" Serenity said. "Good, 'cause I don't want to explain it to you," Luna said. "I'm going to take these ridiculous odangos out. They're really giving me a headache. Mars did them too tight," Serenity said. "But--" Luna started. "No one will know unless you tell. Promise you wouldn't tell? It is just this once. Please?" the Princess pleaded. Luna sighed, shook her head in disdain and gave in. Serenity happily took her pearl barrets out and shook her silky blond hair loose. Every strand shimmered and glittered in the sun. Prince Endymion was stunned at the sight of her hair. She was like an angel. When he had first seen the famous Moon Princess, he had nearly erupted in laughter. Only his mother's stern look controlled him from fatally insulting the royal family. But in that instant, the almighty prince of Earth fell deeply in love with the beautiful vision in before him. He took a step forward to get a closer look and a tripped over a few twigs. Princess Serenity got up and looked around nervously. When she spotted Endymion behind a bush of roses, she sighed a sigh of relief. She began to put her hair back into those annoying odangos. "I like it better the other way," Endymion said. "Me too, but I have to keep them up like this," Serenity sighed. "It's a beautiful day," Endymion observed. "Quite," Serenity said. "Here," Endymion said, presenting Serenity with a purple lily. "Thank you," Serenity blushed. Luna discreetly slipped off so that the two could be alone. She just HAD to tell Queen Serenity about this. As Serenity wove the delicate flower into her beautiful hair, she thought of a poem. She unconsciously began to recite it: "How sweet I roamed from field to field, And tasted all the summer's pride. 'Till the prince of love beheld, Who in the sunny beams did glide! He showed me lilies for my hair, And blushing roses for my brow; He led me through his gardens fair, Where all his golden pleasures grow." Endymion laughed at her choice of poem. "You like poetry?" Endymion queried. "Yes, I think it's so beautiful," Serenity said. "She walks in beauty, like the night Of cloudless climes and starry skies; And all that's best of dark and bright Meet in her aspect and her eyes: Thus mellowed to that tender light Qhich heaven to gaudy day denies. One shade the more, one ray the less, Had half impaired the nameless grace Which waves in every raven tress, Or softly lightens over her face; Where thoughts serenely sweet express How pure, how dear their dwelling-place. And on that cheek, and over that brow, So soft, so calm, yet eloquent, The smiles that win, the tints that glow, But tell of days in goodness spent, A mind at peace with all below, A heart whose love is innocent!" "How beautiful!" Serenity gasped in delight. "It is especially for you.." Endymion said. "SERENITY!!" a voice called. "Uh-oh, I think we'd better go." Serenity said. "SERENITY!!" the voice called again. "COMING!!" Serenity called. "I will see you a little later on?" Endymion asked. "Of course," Serenity responded, walking away. ----------+----------+---------+----------+----------+----------+----------+ "Yes mother?" Serenity managed to say between gasps. "There is to be a ball tonight. I hope the two of you have learned to get along because you will be the talk of the night," QSerenity proclaimed. "Another party, mother?" Serenity asked. "Not just a party! It's a magnificent gala! It is to honor the arrival of the royal family of Earth," QSerenity exclaimed. "Of course, mother," PSerentiy said. "Have you decided yet?" QSerenity asked. "Decided what?" asked the dumbfounded princess. "The proposal! Have you decided to marry the prince?!" QSerenity asked. "Oh! That, of course. I'll tell you at the party," PSerenity said. "Fine," the queen said walking off, "and it's a ball, not a party!" "Party, ball, no difference to me," Serenity said, walking up the stairs. ----------+----------+---------+----------+----------+----------+----------+ The lights blinded Princess Serenity as she gracefully walked down the marble stairway. She felt VERY uncomfortable in the gown she wore. And it was OH SO HOT! Serenity quickly exchanged greetings and rushed off to find the other princesses. "Serenity! You look beautiful!" Venus exclaimed. "Very! The gown suits you well," Mercury added. "It's utterly uncomfortable!" Serenity complained. "Well, you're going to be here all night, so we'd better get you into something more comfortable," Mars said, leading Serenity up to her room. "Thank you Mars," Serenity said. "HURRY!" chided the impatient princess of Mars. When the two princesses returned to the room, Serenity looked dazzling. "Princess, may I have this dance?" Endymion said. "Delighted," Serenity said. "GO girl" Venus whispered in Serenity's ear, making Serenity smile. "Do you still think I'm a bore?" Serenity asked, as she was dancing. "I beg your pardon?" Endymion said, stunned. "Venus told me that you were talking to your mother and you called me an awful bore and that you'd never want to marry me," Serenity chuckled. "Oh, that. Well... that was before I knew you," Endymion said. "Good," Serenity said. "Because I would be honored if you would marry me," Endymion said. "Really?" Serenity gasped in surprise. "Yes. So what do you say?" Endymion asked. "Well..." Serenity trailed off. "You ARE wicked!" laughed Endymion. "Of course I will!" Serenity bursted. "Perfect," Endymion said, giving Serenity a long kiss on the lips. "I love you, Prince Endymion of Earth" Serenity smiled. "I love you too, my angelic Moon Princess," Endymion said. ~ THE END ~ ----------+----------+---------+----------+----------+----------+----------+ Hope you enjoyed it, there will be four more parts to this, featuring each of the inner senshi.
