New Snow - Chapter 1 by Chichiri Rated PG Well, this is a story by a Good friend of mine, Chichiri. Anyhow, she tried sending it in, but her computer crashed and all this strange stuff, so I am sending it in for her! Her e-mail address is runnerup2001@netscape.net, but if that is to much trouble she doesn't mind haveing my adress on it! Thank you so much for the time and trouble you put into ASMR! We really appriciate it! Oh yea, the story is attached to this e-mail, but attached files don't always work from here, so I have copied it onto this e-mail and the next one is just the coppied story, whatever works best for you! Thank you so much once again! Ja Ne and God bless! Hey there! This is my first ever attempt at writing a fanfic, so bear with me! It's so much fun to write about Sailor Moon! Please e-mail me at runnerup2001@netscape.net with anything you want to say to me--I would be absolutely thrilled! I promise to write back sometime, but bear with me because I have a really hard semester in school (Chemistry, World History, Algebra 3/4/Trig as well as Track)! Okay, the title may sound strange, especially when you don't read about any snow in the first chapter, but the snow will have more significance later in the story, so you'll have to wait and see! I am using the Japanese names (for the most part) because they sound prettier. This is set during the time when Usagi was reawakened after the battle with Queen Beryl. This is my idea of what happened instead of the Doom Tree series. Hope you like it! And as usual, I don't own Sailor Moon, lots of other big important people do, etc. So please don't sue me! Now here's the story! New Snow by Chichiri Chapter 1- Usagi's Sadness "...And the last group is Tsukino-san, Mizuno-san, Kino-san, Aino-san, and Hino-san. Now, you will have some time to work on your projects in class, but not a lot so you'll have to get together outside of class as well. That's it for today, we have an essay test tomorrow. Have a good day!" The teacher finished speaking just as the bell rang and the students flooded happily out of class. "Serena! We're not in the same group!" "It's okay, Naru-chan. At least you're not in the group with Rei. Why'd I have to get stuck with Rei? I don't think she likes me." Usagi smiled comfortingly at her friend, Naru. Usagi was called Serena by most people; only her close friends and family called her Usagi. "But you've got that smart girl in your group, Mizuno-san," Naru pointed out. Yeah, Ami-san is really smart," Usagi sighed. 'I wish that they remembered me,' Usagi thought. 'But they're happy not being Sailor Senshi, and I can fight evil by myself. Still, I miss just being friends with them. Maybe this project will help us be friends again. It's so amazing that we all got put in the same group." "Serena! Hello?" Naru interrupted Usagi's thoughts. "Huh?" Usagi asked. "What's wrong, Serena? You've been so spaced out lately." "I've just got a lot of stuff on my mind, that's all. Sorry, Naru-chan." "Well, let's go eat lunch before the lunch period is over." "Lunch? It's lunch already? Let's go!" Usagi perked up at the thought of food and dragged Naru running down the hallway. "Serena! Wait up!" Usagi turned around to see Ami coming towards her after school. "Hi, Ami. What's up?" "I thought we could walk to Rei's temple together," Ami said. "Huh?" Usagi asked. "We're meeting at Rei's temple in fifteen minutes to work on our research project." Ami sounded slightly annoyed. "What? I didn't hear about it!" "Rei told Minako, Makoto, and me after class. She said she would tell you later." "Well, she didn't tell me," Usagi complained. 'Gosh, even when we're not Sailor Senshi she hates me,' Usagi thought. 'This doesn't look good for our project.' "Well, are you coming?" Ami asked. "I'm supposed to meet a friend now, so you can go ahead without me. I'll just tell her that I have to go and the I'll go to the temple. See ya in a few minutes!" "All right," Ami agreed, but Usagi was already out of sight. Usagi sprinted up the temple steps, fifteen minutes late. "Serena! You're fifteen minutes late!" Rei shouted. "If you're going to be in this group, you've got to be serious about this project!" "Hey! It's not my fault that you didn't tell me about the meeting!" Usagi retorted. "You should include me in the group!" "Well, I would--" Rei started. "Rei! Serena! Stop it!" Ami interrupted. "Stop arguing! We need to get started on the project." 'It's just like we're all Sailor Senshi again,' Usagi thought. 'Rei and I are arguing and Ami is playing referee! I wish they remembered being friends.' 'Serena!' "Huh?" Usagi asked. "What?" Minako asked. "Someone said my name just now," Usagi said. "No..." Minako shook her head with the rest of the group. 'Oh! It must have been Luna calling me mentally! That means that Sailor Moon is needed!' Usagi thought. "Uh, sorry, but I have to go! I'll be sure to keep tomorrow afternoon clear for another unscheduled meeting! See ya!" "Hey! Serena!" Rei yelled, but Usagi was already out of sight. As Usagi ran around a corner she saw Luna running towards her. "Serena! Hurry up and transform, there's trouble at the elementary school!" Luna said. "Moon Prism Power!" Usagi shouted. "What's going on at the elementary school?" Usagi asked after transforming into Sailor Moon. "There's a youma draining energy from the children," Luna explained as they arrived at the school. Screams were coming from the playground where the children were being chased around by the youma. The youma caught up to a small girl with black hair pulled back into two ponytails. She shrieked as the youma began to drain her energy. "That's Ami's little sister! I've got to save her!" Usagi ran over to the youma and recited her speech: "I am Sailor Moon, Champion of Justice! On behalf of the moon and the Sailor Senshi I will destroy you!" Usagi grabbed her tiara and threw it at the youma saying, "Moon Tiara Magic!" The youma disappeared and Usagi ran over to the little girl. "Sailor Moon! Look out!" Luna shouted as the youma reappeared behind her. Luna stared stunned as Usagi disappeared. "Where am I?" Usagi wondered. She was surrounded by a warm light of shimmering colors. "I saw the youma coming up behind me and then suddenly I was here." "You are in a dimension between time and space. I called you here, Princess Serenity." "Queen Serenity!" Usagi exclaimed as she recognized the spirit of her mother floating towards her. "I called you here because it's time for you to power up. You will need more strength to fight against the rising evil," Queen Serenity said. "Here is the Imperium Silver Crystal." "You really want me to have this again?" Usagi asked as she took the Crystal in her hands. "Yes, it is yours. Now say, 'Moon Crystal Power,'" Queen Serenity dictated. "Moon Crystal Power!" Usagi shouted. After re-transforming into Sailor Moon, Usagi asked, "Will my tiara work now?" "Yes, but instead of saying 'Moon Tiara Magic,' say, 'Moon Tiara Elimination,'" Queen Serenity explained. "And remember, believe in yourself and what you fight for and you are as powerful as any enemy you'll encounter." "Thank you, Queen Serenity," Usagi said. "Your welcome, Princess Serenity." Queen Serenity smiled. "Goodbye." "Goodbye, Mommy," Usagi whispered as the colors faded and she found herself back at the school where the youma was still draining energy from the children. "I am Sailor Moon, Champion of Justice!" Usagi began her speech again. "On behalf of the moon, Queen Serenity and the Sailor Senshi I will triumph over evil- and that means you! Moon Tiara Elimination!" Usagi threw her tiara at the youma again and this time the youma disintegrated into a pile of dust. "Moondusted!" Usagi said proudly. The children began to wake up and Usagi checked to make sure they were all right. Suddenly, four black shadows appeared. Usagi stood up, ready to defend the children again. "Welcome back, Sailor Moon," one of the shadows spoke. "Our plan is working perfectly. We sent our youma to create trouble so that you, Sailor Moon, would come to the rescue. We will destroy you, and that means all of the Sailor Brats, wherever the others are. We will have our revenge." "Imoto-chan!" Ami called as she walked up to the school. (Imoto-chan means "my little sister") She stopped when she saw the scene on the playground. The children were all huddled behind Usagi. One of the shadows lifted a hand and threw a blast at Ami. "Look out, Ami-chan!" Usagi cried as she pushed her out of the way. Ami had been unhurt, but Usagi had taken the blast on her left arm. Usagi bit her lip and blinked back tears. Standing up, she reached for her tiara, but one of the shadows spoke again, "Don't bother reaching for your tiara, Sailor Moon. It won't hurt us. We'll leave you for now, but this war is far from over. When we come back, we'll destroy you and your stupid Sailor friends!" With that, the four shadows disappeared. "Sailor Moon!" Luna shouted. "That was very impressive! You're getting much better at this." "Ami-chan, are you all right?" Usagi asked. "Huh?" Ami asked looking around. "Onee-chan!" the little girl cried, running up to Ami and throwing her arms around her. (Onee-chan means "my older sister") Usagi began to walk away, hiding her wounded arm from Luna. 'I can't let Luna see that I got hurt,' Usagi thought. 'If she finds out, she'll want to awaken the other Senshi and I can't let her do that. I will let the Sailor Senshi be happy, even though I can't be! How am I going to hide my arm, though? If only I could get Luna to go away somewhere. Usagi continued to walk along with Luna hiding her left arm behind her back. She hadn't had a chance to look at the wound yet, but it felt pretty bad. Luna was just babbling on, but Usagi wasn't paying attention. All of a sudden, when Luna turned to look at Usagi, Usagi disappeared again. Usagi, no longer Sailor Moon, found herself in a park. "How did I get here?" Usagi wondered aloud. "I must have the power to teleport myself to another place. I was concentrating really hard on getting away from Luna and now I'm here. Ow!" Usagi winced when she accidentally brushed her arm against her side. Usagi pushed up her sleeve and stared horrified at the deep gash that reached from just before her elbow almost to her wrist on the inside of her arm. She untucked the blouse of her school uniform and ripped off part of the bottom of it. She wrapped the make-shift bandage around her wound. She started to walk home, carefully holding her arm in front of her when all of a sudden she ran into someone. "Hey, Meatball Head! Watch where you're going!" Mamoru said. "You should be watching where you're going, too!" Usagi retorted hiding her arm behind her back. "Now excuse me, Darien, but I have to go." Mamoru was only called Mamoru by his close friends and family; everyone else called him Darien. As Usagi turned to go, continuing to hide her arm from him, Mamoru saw a tear fall down her cheek. "Hey, Serena! What's wrong?" Mamoru asked, reaching for her arm. Usagi screamed as he grabbed her left arm. Mamoru let go immediately, then he pushed up her sleeve. He stared at the blood-soaked cloth wrapped around her arm and asked, "What happened?" "Just a little accident!" Usagi said, trying unsuccessfully to force a smile. "That's not the result of a 'little accident,'" Mamoru said, concerned. "Can I take a look? I'm studying to be a doctor." "Go ahead," Usagi sighed knowing that he wouldn't let her go otherwise. Secretly, though, she was relieved. "This is really bad," Mamoru said after taking off the bandage and examining the wound. "Can I take you to a hospital?" "Can't you fix it?" Usagi pleaded. "I don't like hospitals. They're scary." "All right," Mamoru agreed. "I'll see what I can do. Let's go back to my apartment." 'It's so nice being back in Mamo-chan's apartment,' Usagi thought as Mamoru finished wrapping her arm. 'But he doesn't know who I am or what he means to me. I know he'll remember someday, though, because our love has already survived for a thousand years.' "There," Mamoru said when he had finished. "I don't know how you managed to get such a bad cut, Meatball Head. Don't move your arm too much or you'll open the stitches, okay?" "All right, I'll try," Usagi promised. "Thank you so much, Mamoru." "What did you just call me?" Mamoru asked. "Mamoru," Usagi replied. As she realized that he didn't remember, she quickly added, "Because you're my protector." "Just this one time, Meatball Head," Mamoru said. 'No, you will be my protector, my Mamoru, forever,' Usagi thought to herself. 'I love you, Mamo-chan.' "Would you like something to eat or drink?" Mamoru offered. "No, thank you," Usagi said sadly. (You know she's got to be pretty sad to pass up food.) "I have to go. Bye." "Remember not to move your arm too much," Mamoru reminded her as he opened the door for her. Usagi nodded and left. 'Something feels empty inside me,' Mamoru thought as he closed the door. 'Like a part of me is missing.' Well, that's it for Chapter 1 of New Snow! I hope you liked it! I know it's not very romantic yet, but I'm getting there. But this isn't going to be really super-romantic. It'll probably start snowing in Chapter 2 or 3, so I'll get closer to explaining the title. Don't forget you can e-mail me at runnerup2001@netscape.net Thank you so much for reading this!
