Episode 6: Scandalous Pictures "Tristan?" I asked quietly. We were sitting in the park, watching the sunset spill across the lake. I was leaning my head on Tristan?s shoulder, as he just sat quietly. "Hmm?" he answered softly. "How are we going to find the Hanazuishou?" Tristan thought a moment before answering. "I don?t know, Sun. Artemis can?t tell me anything, and, last time I spoke to him, Mamoru-san didn?t know much about their own Crystal either." I frowned thoughtfully. "What part does it have? Is it a weapon, or what?" Tristan shifted slightly. "I don?t know that either. Artemis just said that is was powerful, and that you?d need it." "Oh," I murmured. "I wonder why me." Tristan reached down and put and finger under my chin, tilting my face up. He smiled sweetly. "I know why," he assured and kissed my forehead. "You are the leader of the Satellite Senshi. You were the first." "Did you know that too?" I asked suddenly. "Is that how you knew about Merlyn being the Sailor Senshi of Titania?" He nodded. "Yes. I was talking to Artemis by then. He told me about Stardance after she appeared. The rest I?d figured out on my own." I started. "So you had to have been at the anime convention the first time I became Sailor FlowerPower!" He grinned. "Well, sort of. I was close, must?ve been that Fate thing again. I was nearby and turned into Tuxedo Rose when you were in danger, and then something just lead me to you." He smiled and wrapped an arm around my shoulders. "Just like I said, Fate." I smiled and snuggled closer to him. "Fate, I like that." *** Amythite sneered. "They found it! The Ginzuishou!" She paced the room nervously. "Metallia?s not going to like this." The black-haired woman shook her head She had to find out about the Hanazuishou. All Beryl?s Generals but Kunzite were gone, and they?d used precious energy to brainwash the Earth Prince, Endymion, and turn him against his Princess. There was another thing, they?d found the Moon Princess, Serenity, and she was the one who had the Ginzuishou! The Dark Kingdom was in great danger of coming apart from this new threat. She?d come up with a new plan, to get the two who knew the most about the Flower Crystal in one place. If she could trap Sailor FlowerPower and Tuxedo Rose, she could find out about the Hanazuishou and then destroy them, solving two problems right there. She theorized that if they were together in Senshi form, then they might be together in regular form as well. The new plan involved the movie theater in town. She had a youma take over the theater, running it according to her will. This weekend, a special showing was being held for couples in the community. There was a special price for couples, and very cheap. Filling the theater would not be hard, and then she could use dark power to extract the truth from the couples, thus learning the identity of Sailor FlowerPower and Tuxedo Rose -and- information on the Hanazuishou. The new youma had things well underhand, advertising madly all over town. The turnout was expected to be big. And the everything would come together tomorrow night. Amythite smiled wickedly. Now -she- was in control. *** I awoke late Saturday morning, sitting up quickly and rubbing the sleep from my eyes. Jumping quickly out of bed at the request of my stomach, I walked out to the kitchen where my mother, JoAnn, was fixing pancakes. "Morning, Mom," I called cheerily. "Morning, Sunny," she replied, handing me a plate of pancakes. "What are you up to today?" "Just going to hang out with Amberle and Merlyn. Go downtown or something." I sat down at the table and started eating. "But then I?m going to the movie with Tristan, at eight." She turned and regarded me solemnly. "Uh oh," I thought. "Time for the boyfriend lecture." Suddenly, Mom smiled. "That?s fine Sunny, just be back by eleven, ok?" she requested calmly. I blinked. "Sure, Mom! No problem!" I assured. "Besides, I?ll be with Amberle and Merlyn there too." She smiled and turned back to the stove. "You should bring him over for dinner sometime, sweetheart. Your father and I would love to meet him." "Ok, Mom, I will," I answered, and went back to eating. I wondered again. Amberle, Merlyn, and I had gathered at my house after our day downtown to get ready for our dates that night. We were all going to the movie. Amberle was going with Mike Westbrook, the most recent crush she?d been chasing. Merlyn was going with a guy friend, Eric Houser. I was going with Tristan, of course. We were all excited and giggly as we messed around in my room, primping. A regular girlfest. Soon enough, the three boys showed up at my door, nicely dressed. Amberle, Merlyn, and I met them happily, and we started the several block?s walk to the theater. On the way, Tristan pulled me back a little, to talk. "I feel something, something very bad," he whispered close to me. "The Dark Kingdom?" I asked. "Yes, and coming from the theater." I concentrated for a moment, then felt it too. "It is! What do we do?" "I don?t know yet," he murmured. "Just keep it low key, we?ll figure it out." I nodded and kept walking. We arrived in a few minutes and hung around in the lobby, waiting for the movie to start. We each got popcorn and pop, then walked into the dark theater. Merlyn had caught my arm, giving me a worried look. She felt it too. I just nodded and pressed a finger to my lips. We took our seats and waited. The theater was filling up quickly, almost all the seats were filled. I glanced over at Tristan as he got up. "Where are you going?" I whispered, catching his arm. He bent down and shushed me with a kiss. "Trust me, and don?t worry." Then he quickly walked back out to the lobby. *** Amythite floated invisible above the many couples in the theater. She watched a few, glancing here and there, trying to decide who could be Sailor FlowerPower and Tuxedo Rose. But she couldn?t recognize any of them. There were many from the class at school where she was posing as a teacher. She sneered silently, and sent a telepathic message to the youma. "Begin the process! I must find them!" *** Tristan walked out to the lobby, quickly ducking into the restroom. He stood with his back up against the wall, just inside the door. "I hate leaving Sunny in there, but they can?t find us both. I have to be here to protect her!" He made a check to be sure the room was empty, then transformed to the hero, Tuxedo Rose. Suddenly, he heard the doors to the theater shut with a loud bang. "Sunny!" *** I started as the double doors at the back of the theater slammed shut and locked. I jumped up immediately and ran back to them, reaching out to pull them open again. But as soon as I touched the handle, I was knocked back on the floor by a powerful jolt of energy. I blinked and shook my head, dazed. People were starting to scream and run for the doors. I climbed dizzily to my feet, diving back for the rows of seats to avoid getting trampled. As soon as the people reached the doors, they were shocked back as I had been. Merlyn was trying to calm Eric, and Amberle and Mike were nearly as panicked as everyone else. I got back to my friends as quickly as I could. "Calm down everyone!" I cried, taking Amberle?s hand. "Please!" "Oh, Sunny!" she cried. "What?s happening?" I started to answer, but suddenly, there was a large flash at the top of the room. A new monster appeared there, a movie camera on one arm, and trailing film everywhere. I gasped. Where was Tristan when I needed him? The creature turned immediately to Merlyn and Eric, pointing the camera mounted on its arm at Merlyn?s date. A bright beam shot from it, infusing Eric with light. "Eric!" Merlyn shouted, reaching for his arm. But as her hand touched his glowing skin, she was knocked back, like I was from the door. Eric opened his eyes wide, watching the monster. "Tell me all you know!" it cried. "The square root of 87 is-" "No! What else?" There was a slight pause. "Merlyn Beier is the prettiest girl I?ve ever met." Off to the side, Merlyn blushed brightly, blinking in surprise. "About the Hanazuishou!" the monster shouted. Eric was silent. The creature growled, irritated, and the glow around Eric dissipated. He collapsed to the chair, and Merlyn grabbed his hand, trying to wake him. She didn?t notice that the camera was being turned on her. I had no time to waste. I ducked into a corner, the most shelter I could find, and clutched the Flower Locket. "Flower Prism Power, Make Up!" The flash of my transformation distracted the monster, and it turned to me. I leaped up, in full Sailor dress, to the back of a seat. "Stop right there!" I shouted. "You would use the power of love and romance to trap people? I think not!" I stepped up to the next seat top and pointed at the creature. "For this, you cannot be forgiven! I?m the pretty soldier Sailor FlowerPower, and in the name of Thalassa, moon of Neptune, I?ll punish you!" The monster grinned wickedly. "You," it hissed. I started. "What-" I began to ask, but it turned the camera-gun on me. The beam shot out, and I leaped into the air to avoid it. But I didn?t get far enough, and it caught the bottom of my boot, trapping me in midair. I cried out as the beam surrounded me, shocking like electricity. Then I was swirled into darkness. *** Amythite smiled as the youma captured Sailor FlowerPower in the beam. She?d come out of nowhere, as usual, and she hadn?t seen if she was any of the people in the theater. She?d lost that part, but she had her captured now. The Sailor suit clad girl hung still in the air, frozen by the beam. Amythite smiled, sending a telepathic message. "Who are you?" The girl?s face frowned, struggling. "I am Sailor FlowerPower." "What do you know about the Hanazuishou?" The girl was silent. "What do you know?" Amythite demanded, angrily. "I don?t know anything!" the girl responded. It was the truth. Amythite frowned darkly. "She really doesn?t know," she muttered. She thought a moment, then smiled wickedly. "What is your real name?" The girl?s face contorted again, resisting. "My name, my name is..." *** Tuxedo Rose pounded on the door to the theater, furious. "Sunny!" he called. Sailor FlowerPower was in danger, he could feel it! The door wouldn?t give way, so he looked quickly for a different way in. He quickly spied the door to the film room. He ran to the door, and finding it unlocked, leaped up the stairwell as quickly as he could. "I?m coming Sunny!" *** The voice in my head, in that blackness, was trying to get me to give up my identity. I tried to keep my mouth shut, but the force insisting was getting too strong. "Please, Tuxedo Rose," I prayed. "Hurry!" The voice kept insisting. "My name... No, please! My name is..." Suddenly, a blue rose flashed across the darkness, lifting the obligation to answer, and sweeping away the blackness. The immobilizing beam was broken and before I fell, Tuxedo Rose was there, lifting me up and carrying me to safety. We stopped on the stage, right in front of the screen. I shook my head, dazed, held close by Tuxedo Rose. "Are you alright?" he asked quietly. "I, I think so," I answered hesitantly. He sighed, sounding relieved. "Come on then, we?ve got to help Stardance." I looked up, seeing the pink and blue Senshi quickly dodging and leaping the beams. Her dance skills made her faster and more exact. Luckier than me. I nodded, and Tuxedo helped me up. "Sailor FlowerPower, Tuxedo Rose, I could use a little help here!" Stardance called. I nodded to Tuxedo, and we leaped into action side-by-side. We each passed by on a side of the creature, Tuxedo aiming with the blue rose on his side, and I hurling my tiara at it from mine. In trying to dodge my tiara, Tuxedo?s strike hit the lens of the camera, shattering it and sending the creature crashing to the ground. Stardance, now recovering from her flight, stood up. "This was my first date, you creep, and you had to go and ruin it! In the name of Titania, moon of Uranus, I'll punish you! Starlight Step!" The monster was struck head on by the glowing beam of pink light, and seemed to crack from the strong beam. In a few moments, the cracks became wider and it shattered completely, dissolving into glittering dust. "Woah, Stardance!" I exclaimed, amazed by her show of power. "I?m impressed." Tuxedo Rose chuckled. "Nice shootin? Tex." Sailor Stardance blinked and smiled a little. "Thanks." Looking around, I saw that most of the people were unconscious, but all right. I glanced up at Amberle, Mike and Eric; they were out like the rest. "Better detransform, guys," I stated, thinking a quick thought, then flashing back into my street clothes. Merlyn did the same, as did Tristan. People were starting to stir. I turned and smiled at my companions. Safe, for now. *** Amythite snarled in fury, hurling a vase across her room. The vase shattered against the wall, falling to the floor in pieces. The Sailor Senshi had won again! "No!" Amythite screamed. "They can?t, it?s not possible!" She whirled around, slamming her fist into the soft back of a chair. She turned and nervously began to pace the room. "Now what, now what?" she muttered, starting to sit in the chair. But then the chime sounded, repeatedly. Amythite stood straight up, eyes wide in fear. She turned and rushed quickly to Metallia?s room. The silver-haired man stood before Metallia?s non-form, waiting patiently. It was one of the Four Generals, and the last, Kunzite. She had brought him to help this 'Amythite,' another of Metallia?s minions, but not working for Beryl. She was independent, like a few others around the globe. But most of the Dark Kingdom?s work was centered around Tokyo, where the most energy was. And, unfortunately, the biggest threat: Sailor Moon and her Senshi. Kunzite didn?t mind getting away from Beryl for a while; she had Prince Endymion to command. He would be little missed. Kunzite turned slightly as he noticed the sound of footsteps coming quickly up the dark passageway. A lovely raven-haired woman stepped into the room. Amythite. She looked rather nervous, her violet eyes darting about. She glanced once at Kunzite, and started in surprise. "Amythite..." Metallia growled, clearly angry. Amythite approached Metallia?s non-form and knelt, head bowed. "Mistress, I-" "Silence!" Metallia said sharply. "You have failed again, Amythite. You should be punished." "I know, Mistress, but I-" she began. "I have taken pity on you though, Amythite. General Kunzite has been summoned to help you. He has dealt with the Senshi in Tokyo, and he can teach you much." "Yes, Mistress, thank you," Amythite whispered, clearly relieved. She rose and turned to Kunzite, bowing. "I am under your command, General Kunzite."
