EMAIL ME YOUR COMMENTS! If you don't know the legend/key (whatever you want to call it) yet- go look back at the previous chapters. She's a really great friend. And I'd *really* like to apologize for taking so freaking long to send out this chapter. How many months has it been? ::shrugs:: Sorry people, I just really didn't feel up to writing it. OMG, you people have *got* to check out these animes: Vision of Escaflowne and Serial Experiments Lain. They're my fave animes, besides DBZ and SM (though I like Esca and Lain the best). They're *awesome*, absolutely amazing. More AN's at the bottom. Hey! Guess what happened to me yesterday! I was in a car accident! Isn't that great? The car's really messed up, no one was hurt though. Well, except for this damnedable headache I've had for 2 days (i don't believe I had it before the accident...). I don't *think* I hit my head on anything during the crash... I can't really remember though. Is that a bad thing? LOL, anyway, my neck and back really hurt from it too, so I'm gunna say, "Adios, mi amigos!" and "See ya at the bottom!" Oi, I need some asprin... At his soft, innocent form illuminated by the moonlight flowing in from the window; she stared at the gentle lavender bangs that fell over his closed eyes; eyes that would have glowed that beautiful blue they always did if they were open. She loved watching people in their sleep, when they were most beautiful and peaceful; people seem to lose their roughness when they slumber, and all that remains is a tender and serene face. Serena reached out a pale, delicate hand and ran her long fingers across Trunks' jaw. She still couldn't believe he was here. He was staying at her house, in her room, while all the others were all settled into hotel rooms, courtesy of Sailor Pluto. Of course, Bulma had protested enormously before Vegeta silenced her, giving Trunks a hearty pat on the back and winking. And, as expected, Ken went ballistic before Serena used her mind-control on him, making him believe that Trunks was an old childhood friend whom they both trusted fully; oh, and did I mention Serena made Ken think that Trunks was gay? And of course, what harm would it be if Serena slept in the same room as him, if there was no danger of them doing something together? Thank goodness Rini was staying at Darien's tonight! She sighed and looked at the clock. The bright green digital numbers reading 12:37. Sammy had gone to bed at 10:00 and her parents at 11:00 while Serena and Trunks talked until he had fallen asleep at 12:19; she had been watching him since. Serena quietly got up and crept downstairs, quickly turning on the computer in her father's study. She logged onto the Internet and went to her online diary; she absolutely adored her screenname, because who would ever guess that *Serena*, the bright, cheery ball of energy and sunshine, would choose a name like Fallen Angel, when a fallen angel is usually thought of as one of Lucifer's demons in Christian mythology? She began to type an entry. 'Have you ever felt like you've waited an eternity for someone and when you finally find it, you're more depressed than you were before because you realize you'll just lose him or her again? Well, that's how I felt today. My old family and friends showed up today, they came to celebrate my 15th birthday with me. I was so happy; I had missed them so much. Never thinking to stop and see how much they changed. Lord knows I've changed since the last time we were together, not just physically, but mentally and spiritually also. Oh, what a disappointment I must be to them! Trunks and I talked tonight, just like old times. We're not as close anymore, we both know it. How can we just pick up right where we were when I left? We haven't spoken in 2 years, and a lot did. My friends now... they really know next to nothing about me (the *real* me), but they experienced what I went through these 2 years. They were there, with me... and Trunks wasn't. He might know almost everything about me, but he wasn't here... he wasn't here... Oh, but wouldn't Darien be jealous to know a handsome boy my own age was sleeping in the same room with me? ::sigh:: No... I guess he wouldn't, would he? He doesn't care, he doesn't love me anymore, that he certainly made clear. But I can't help want him to be jealous! Why was I cursed to love a man who doesn't love me? I've fallen in love twice, you know. I first fell in love with the sweet, protective brother I never had, but *always* wanted. I guess you all can see I mean Trunks. He always listened to me, always watched out for me. To this day I love him still. Ah, but my love for him is a sister's love for her favorite big brother. But my love for Darien... oh, this is the kind of love that makes your heart pound excitedly against your ribcage, your face flush in excitement, and the blood in your veins to boil in passion. This love gives you butterflies in your stomach, and makes your chest ache when he's not there... makes your soul cry in anguish when he does not want you back... Oh, the pain you feel when your love rejects you; your life seems to lose meaning. Love hurt so, so much. And they left me both... Oh, how much love can tear your heart apart. No one but Luna knows of insomnia, every night. How I usually only get 2 hours of sleep a night. I stay up doing whatever I can do to occupy my time; usually writing in this diary to pass the night away, then I usually go out and sit on the roof to watch the sun rise around 5:00 or take a walk. Then slip into bed around 5:45, right before my mother wakes up at 6:00, and sleep until 7:45 when I usually run to school, late as usual. They think I'm lazy, when I fall asleep in class and always run in late. But they don't know, they won't know. Trunks is coming to school with me tomorrow, as my guest for as long as he's staying here. I don't know what I should do. Should I act as I usually do, a complete idiot, and lose all the respect he has of me, or do I forget what my mother made me promise to do, and actually answer the questions correctly, and shock all my classmates. Oh, what should I do? What *can* I do?' Serena saved the entry and then checked out all the other diary entries that had recently been added, just to pass the time. At 4:30 she turned off the computer and went outside, reveling in the calm silence that seemed to have taken over the whole world. She walked quietly to the park, her light T-shirt and jeans rustling in the slight breeze. When she reached the park she walked to a gazebo and jumped onto its small, white roof. She sat down and faced the horizon, which was already beginning to grey and the sky was turning subtle shades of color. She drew her knees up to her chest, wrapping her arms around them and placing her chin on them. She lifter her face to the sky, enjoying the feeling of the different lights falling gently on her face. The sky turned a glorious shade of gold, then orange and pink filled the sky with their magnificence. Then the sky lightened and turned soft, becoming a beautiful baby blue color. A glorious sight to behold. After the sun had risen, Serena sat on the slanted roof of the gazebo, her eyes closed and lifted, greeting the newly risen sun. Then, early morning joggers began to come out, but no one noticed the small girl on top of the gazebo; well, almost no one. One young man did notice her, and he gazed at her longingly while wondering why on Earth she was up so early, and sitting on the roof of a gazebo at that! Then, her eyes opened and her baby-blues glanced down at her watch. She jumped down from the gazebo in one graceful leap and began to run towards home. It was 5:51 and she had to get home before her mother woke up. She slipped in through her window and threw off her jeans, bra, and shoes. Slipping under her covers, she closed her eyes and fell into a light sleep. And there, in her sleep, her mother visited her. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* In the Dream ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Serena was walking through the gardens of her first home, the Moon Palace. She was admiring a tall tree, with leaves that were not only green, but shone blue and silver too and great silver apples hung from the branches, when a twinkling voice called her name, "Serenity. Oh, Serenity. My wonderful daughter, you look so beautiful." Serena twirled around and ran into her mother's open arms. "We haven't had one of our little night-time chats for awhile. What brings about this one? More advice?" "My daughter, I have heard of your dilemma and am here to--" "--to tell me I have to stick with the plan and act stupid, right?" Serena heaved a sigh. Queen Serenity frowned, "My dear, it is rude to interrupt someone when they are talking. My, the *habits* you've picked up down on that planet... Anyway, what I was *going* to say was that you can act like your true self in school when you're with Trunks, if you so wish." Serena's eyes widened, "You mean... you mean I can actually answer the questions right? And pass the tests? You mean, I can be smart again? And I can stop acting like an annoying ditz?" "Oh, my poor daughter, this mission has been hard for you, hasn't it?" Serena nodded and Serenity hugged her closer, "Don't worry, it'll all work out soon. You may begin to show your true nature, I will allow it. And now, my little moon goddess, you must leave me and awaken from this dream." Serena's eyes were filled with tears of happiness at knowing she can finally begin to show who she truly was, but they filled with sadness knowing she had to leave her mother, "But why must I leave now?" Here Serenity grinned, laughed a bit, and winked at her daughter, "Because that cutie best friend of yours is shaking you right now in an attempt to get you up so you won't be late for school. And, I must tell you, you sure know how to pick 'em! I mean, I absolutely adore Endymion- though lately His personality has begun to anger me a bit, but this Trunks of yours... he's a total hunk!" Serena sweatdropped at her mother, totally surprised at hearing such words from the calm, regal Queen Serenity, before realization of what she had said sunk In, "Oh no! I'm going to be late!" ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Serena sprang up, totally unaware that she had just knocked Trunks on his butt on the side of her bed; leaping out of bed, she dashed to the closet, grabbing her uniform skirt and blouse. She ripped off her T-shirt, put on a bra, and was about to slip her blouse on when she noticed Trunks, wide-eyed, jaw hanging open, and a blush staining his face, sitting up where he had fallen when she jumped out of bed. She screeched and grabbed a blanket off her bed, using it to cover her body. Trunks seemed to snap out of his daze and covered his eyes, getting up, "Oh God, oh God! Ren, I am so, so sorry! I... I was just trying to wake you up! And, and... I'm just really sorry! And I'm gunna go now... Bye!" Trunks ran out of the room and slammed the door behind him. Serena was slack-jawed and blushing uncontrollably until she glanced at the clock, screamed, "I'm going to be late!" and finished putting on her uniform. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Trunks was waiting by the door for Serena when She suddenly rushed down the stairs, fully dressed and wearing the most ridiculous hair-style he had ever seen her wear before, grabbed her lunch, a piece of toast in her mouth, and Trunks' hand before dragging him out the door. She ate the toast in one bite. 'Some things *never* change,' Trunks thought with a smile. She let go of his hand so she could carry her black briefcase in that hand. "Come on, Trunks! School starts in 3 minutes and it takes 5 minutes to get there! Race ya! Go!" Serena whizzed off, leaving a confused Trunks in her dust before comprehension brightened his face and he sprinted off after her. He caught up to her quite easily (causing some regular passer-byers to nearly faint because some could *actually* catch up to Serena in her ritual morning-dash to school!). And together they reached the school and skid into homeroom exactly 1 second before the bell rang. Both Serena and Trunks laughed and high-fived each other, "I'll call that a tie, Trunks!" "As if! I beat you by a millisecond and you know it!" "Whatever!" All the students stared at the two in amazement. Finally, Serena turned to a wide-eyed Ms. Haruna and pointed to Trunks, "Hey, Ms. H, this is Trunks, a friend of mine. He's going to be my guest at this school for awhile so we need to go to the office to pick up his guest card. Permission to go?" Haruna nodded mutely and the 2 calmly walked out of the room. They got to the office and filled out some paper work, received a guest card, and walked back to the classroom just as Haruna recollected her composure. Haruna walked up to Trunks and they shook hands, "Hello Trunks, I'm Ms. Haruna. Since there are no empty seats near Serena then Madison can just move to the empty seat in back so you can sit beside Serena, that okay?" They nodded, Madison (a skinny girl with short, mousy-brown hair and small-rimmed glasses) moved from her seat to an empty seat in the back of the classroom, and the duo took their seats. "Okay class, let's begin today's lesson--" Ami and Lita looked back at Serena and Trunks questioningly before turning their attention back to the class. Before long, Serena's head began to droop and Eventually it rested comfortably on her arms on her desk. Serena's eyes drifted close in a half-conscious dream-like state, though she could hear Haruna's droning in the classroom. Trunks stared at Serena wonderingly, she never used to fall asleep in class back home! Maybe it was a common occurrence in this strange, primitive dimension she now lived in but it was still shocking to him! Trunks noticed a lot of the girls were gazing at him with stars in their eyes shook his head. He heard Ms. Haruna sigh and snapped his head so he was looking at her again. She was frowning at a slumbering Serena. She walked up to her, shook her shoulders, and asked, "Ok Serena, what year was the Spanish Armada defeated by the English Navy?" Serena shifted slightly and mumbled a reply, thought it was muffled by her arms so it sounded like, "Fffgheettttt." Haruna leaned closer to Serena, "Huh?" Sighing, one of Serena's eyes popped open and stared at Haruna. She lifted her head slightly, said, "1588," yawned, and buried her face in her arms again to continue her nap. Haruna blinked once. Twice. Three times. "Did-did she just say '1588'?" Haruna stuttered in amazement. "Yeah, why? What's the big deal about her answering correctly?" Trunks asked in confusion. "Oh, my God. She answered right. She actually knew an answer to a question..." Haruna rushed to the window and searched the sky for something. "Well, the sky doesn't seem to have fallen and I don't see any flying pigs around. My God, has hell frozen over? Will the sun shine tomorrow?!" Trunks laughed, in spite of his confusion, "If you think *that's* amazing, then don't say anything about World War II. Sheesh, she just goes on forever about that thing! She knows every important date, every nation's leader, every country's stand, every head general's name, etc. etc. I can never get her to shut up about it once she's started!" The whole class stared at Trunks. 'He couldn't be talking about Serena, they thought, 'Ditzy, spacey, stupid Serena probably doesn't even know what WWII *stands* for, let alone what it is!" Finally, Ami spoke up, "Um, are you talking about Serena? *That* Serena right over there, asleep on the desk?" Trunks nodded and a girl in the front row's lower lip began to quiver. "Ms. Haruna, I'm scared!" Ms. Haruna walked over and embraced the girl, "I know, Sori, I am too." From the corner of his eye, Trunks thought he saw Serena smiling. ------------------------------------------------------ Hi hi! It's been a while, hasn't it? Well, I really am sorry for taking so long in getting this out. This was actually only the first half of my chapter 7. I wrote it a few months ago and got writers block, couldn't write any of the rest of the chapter. So today, after reading some fan mail (you see people, fan mail *does* help!) I decided, 'What the hell?' and typed this up! Aren't you glad? I'll try and get the next chapter out a lot sooner than I got this one out! Oh ya! And that online diary I was talking about? That's real. Fallen Angel just happens to be my username! ::laughs:: Ok people, now let's see if you can guess which online diary server I use! Mail me! ~Iris Sept. 15, 2000
